''método para aumentar o número de troca (ton) de um sistema de catalisador''. um método para aumentar o ton de um sistema de catalisador para a monocarbonilação de compostos etilenicamente insaturados usando monóxido de carbono na presença de um co-reagente, outro que não a água ou uma fonte da mesma, tendo um átomo de hidrogênio móvel é descrito. o sistema de catalisador é obtenível pela combinação de: (a) um metal dos grupos (8,9) ou (10) ou um composto adequando do mesmo; (b) um ligante da fórmula geral (i) em que os grupos x^3^ e x^4^ independentemente representam radicais univalentes de até 30 átomos ou x^3^ e x^4^ juntos formam um radical bivalente de até 40 átomos e x^5^ tem até 400 átomos; q^1^ representa fósforo, arsênico ou antimônio; e c) opcionalmente, uma fonte de ânions. o método inclui a etapa de adicionar água ou uma fonte da mesma ao sistema de catalisador. o método é preferivelmente realizado na presença de um metal eletropositivo
