A invenção diz respeito a processos para a produção de produtos químicos finos, mediante fermentação, em particular à L-metionina, com o uso de bactérias em que é expressa uma seq³ência de nucleotídeos que codifica para um gene de S-adenosilmetionina sintase (metK).
