<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

"washing machine control mechanism with mechanical wringer control".
This invention relates to improvements to domestic laundry machines, driven by a motor, preferably electric. In particular, these are washing machines also comprising a wringer, the two machine parts being actuated by the same motor.
The operating mechanism is substantially housed in
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
below the tank or in any other place, laterally near the ground.
One of the characteristics of the invention relates to the control mechanism of the friction element of the washing machine.
This mechanism effects a transformation of the continuous rotational movement into an oscillating rotation, by means of a crank mechanism, the elements of which comprise only pivoting joints.
The whole of this mechanism is mounted in a sealed oil bath casing. In this way, sufficient lubrication is ensured as well as minimum wear of the various moving parts. At the same time, no traces of oil on the laundry can occur.
In the case where the electric control motor is single-phase, the invention provides for the launching of this motor by means of a lever which pivots around the axis of the controlled pulley and which engages in the saw teeth. of this pulley, forming a kind of racagnac.
These improvements, as well as others, are described below in the exemplary embodiment, which is, on the other hand, illustrated in Figures 1 and 2 of the accompanying drawing.
Figure 1 is a vertical section of the lower part of the washer tub, as well as the operating mechanism.
Figure 2 is a plan view of the operating mechanism of the washer.
The washing machine is controlled by transforming a continuous rotational movement of the motor 8 into an oscillating movement, by means of the connecting rods 1, 2, 3 and 4, which are articulated together and pivot inside the machine. 'a sealed casing 9, comprising an oil bath.
In the case where. motor 8 is single-phase, it is necessary

sary to launch the latter, which is carried out according to the invention, by means of a lever 6 pivoting around the axis of the controlled pulley 5, the latter comprising the raoagnao teeth which cooperate with the end of the pulley. lever 6.
A sudden movement, in the direction of the arrows, communicated to the lever 6, causes the engine 8 to start, this movement being multiplied by the transmission 15. The wringer is controlled by means of a transmission. chain 16, which connects two pinions, one being mounted on the control mechanism and the other on a vertical axis of the wringer.
The motor 8 is only supported by a hinge 10, which is located outside the axis 11, 12, which unites the two centers of rotation of the main transmission.
A spring 14 has the function of pushing the motor 8 outwards and / consequently, of tensioning the belt 15. This spring 14 could also be provided on the other side of the pivot point 10, but 1 in this case. , he would work on traction.
This arrangement allows automatic adjustment of the belt tension.
