Drive device of an oscillating mounted shaft.
The present invention relates to a device for driving by means of a belt an oscillating mounted shaft, by means of an electric motor arranged under the shaft, parallel to the latter and suspended. Such drive mechanisms are mainly used in woodworking machines.
Here, the motor hangs in the drive belt which must absorb all the weight of the motor and transmits the load to the shaft to be driven, This arrangement has, disregarding the force exerted on the belt by the weight of the engine, the fault that the engine rises along the tractor strand of the belt when starting up, while it descends during relaxation resulting from the belt and thus rises and falls for a certain time, whereby the transmission The power is irregular and the belt is heavily stressed. These defects are avoided by the object of the invention.

The invention essentially consists in that the motor is supported vis-à-vis the shaft by a rod in two parts, these two parts being fitted by support rings on the motor shaft and the shaft. to be driven and being interconnected, along an adjustable length, by a tensioner, the rod being in the plane determined by the motor shaft and the driven shaft.
In the accompanying drawing is shown an embodiment of the object of the invention: fig.l is a side view of the device and fig.2 is a left view of fig.l.
The electric motor 1 drives, by triangular or trapezoidal belts 2, a shaft 3 carried by a lever 4 supported oscillating by parts - for example of a woodworking machine, fixed in space and not shown . Motor 1 is mounted parallel to shaft 3 and, as shown in the drawing, below it. The motor is mounted in a known manner oscillating at 6 on the mentioned machine. The oscillation axes 5 and 6 are parallel. This mode of driving a shaft by a suspended motor is known per se. The suspended motor is here carried by the belt 2 which passes above the grooved pulley 7 of the motor and a corresponding pulley 8 of the shaft 3.
In known devices of this type, the motor is pulled upwards by the tractor part of the belt, falls back and makes this reciprocating movement for a certain time.
To prevent this defect, the motor is, according to the invention, supported, supported vis-à-vis the shaft 3. The support must be such that the motor can follow a possible oscillation movement of the lever 4. To this end Indeed, the motor and the shaft 3 are connected by a rod 9. The latter is in two parts, each comprising screw threads 10 of opposite pitches and connected to each other by a threaded sleeve 11 of such so that the two half-rods are brought together when the sleeve is turned in one direction and are separated when it is turned in the other direction. he

It is thus possible to modify the length of the rod 9 in two parts.
Each half-rod is welded to a support ring 12. A ring 12 is slipped on the cover 13 of the ball bearing of the motor 1. In fig.2, this ring is mounted in section, so that the bearing cover ball is visible. In this is formed an annular groove 14 in which engages a screw 15 carried by the ring 12, which blocks said ring vis-à-vis any axial displacement of the motor shaft. The ring 12 of the upper half of the rod 9 is slid behind the pulley 8 on a bush of the saw shaft support at the lever 4 and is blocked against any axial displacement by the pulley 8 and the bushings of the saw shaft. lever 4. The arrangement is such that the rod 9 is located laterally to the ring 2 and this in the plane formed by the axes of the shaft 3. and of the motor shaft 1.
By a corresponding movement of the sleeve 11, the length of the rod 9 is adjusted so as to tension the belt 2.
The motor is thus supported, supported vis-à-vis the shaft 3 by the rod 9 and it cannot, when it is started, rise in the direction of the tractor side; on the contrary, it always maintains the same spacing with respect to the shaft 3. In addition, the weight of the engine is no longer supported by the belt 2, but indeed by the rod 9 and thus by the lever 4. This results in that the belt 2 is well safeguarded and that its duration is notably increased.
The invention can be applied to a drive by a flat belt.
By arranging the rod 9 in the plane determined by the shaft 3 and the motor shaft, and directly near the pulleys, a reaction is created at the tipping moment developed at the shaft and at the motor as a result of the belt traction.
