<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In order for the invention to be better understood, it will be described, by way of example, in a preferred embodiment, shown in the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 shows the object of the invention in side elevation, certain parts of the mechanism being assumed to be exposed.
Figure 2 is a plan view with part of the meoanism also exposed.
In the drawings, the box 1, the sides of which are preferably easily removable, is provided with a window 2 in which is housed a suitable system of lenses. The film 3 advances periodically, under the action of a claw mechanism, the whole of which is designated by 4,, between the window 2 and the guide 5. This guide 5 which allows the film to pass is mounted on a support which rotates in 6 so that the film can be easily threaded on it. Split pins or similar members 7 keep this guide in its closed position while the machine is operating.
Film 3 takes place from reel-magazine 8 on the; winding reel 9. It unwinds from the magazine reel under the action of the toothed wheel 10 mounted on the motor shaft '11 which can be actuated by hand or mechanically ;;, .. The film 3 forms a loop beyond the wheel 10. The film forming part of this loop is transported intermittently, in front of the window 2 by the claw mechanism mentioned previously, a mechanism which is actuated by cams mounted on the shaft 12 which is controlled by the shaft 11 via the ring gear 13 and the pinion 14.
A shutter the assembly of which is indicated by 15 and which preferably conforms to that which is described
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
in the patent application entitled "Improvements to shutters of cinematographic devices" filed the same day as the present application, is mounted at the end of the shaft 12. Marks such as the letters T and P for example, are engraved on the edge of the shutter so that the adjustable shutter operoule (s) can be conveniently positioned either for taking pictures or for projecting them. Behind the guide 5 are arranged a prism 16 and an opening 17 provided with a suitable lens such as 18.
This opening constitutes a viewfinder and serves as an attachment for fixing the casing of a lamp; it allows light to pass through when using the device as a projector. When, on the contrary, it is used for taking pictures, the opening 17 is closed by an opaque cap.
The film 3 is held against the wheel 10 by more; - Sieurs rollers 19 mounted in oages which pivot around 21, so that they can be removed when putting on or removing a film. Features such as cotter pins 20 serve to hold these rollers in their active position when needed.
The winding reel 9 is controlled by the motor shaft 11, by means of an elastic belt 22 or the like, capable of transmitting sufficient tension to absorb the floating of the film, while allowing slippage when it is not. there are no floating film parts in the section between the wheel 10 and the reel 9.
The claw mechanism 4, mentioned above, is preferably similar to that described in the patent application entitled "Film advancement mechanism in cinematographic apparatus" filed on the same day as the patent application.
