Abstract
Composición de medio para la producción de toxina botulínica y más específicamente, a una composición de medio para el cultivo de Clostridium sp. capaz de producir toxina botulínica. La composición del medio comprende una peptona porcina y al menos una peptona de origen vegetal seleccionada del grupo compuesto por un hidrolizado de guisante de jardín, un hidrolizado de semilla de algodón y un hidrolizado de gluten de trigo. Cuando se utiliza el medio, que contiene peptonas de origen vegetal, peptonas porcinas y minerales para el cultivo de Clostridium botulinum, la tasa de crecimiento de la bacteria en el medio es mayor a la de cada uno de los medios utilizados en la actualidad y a la del medio que comprende peptonas de origen vegetal solamente. Además, cuando se utiliza el medio se puede producir una alta concentración de toxina botulínica mediante el cultivo de la bacteria en una forma segura.
