Abstract

Se divulga un proceso para reciclar poli(etilén tereftalato) que comprende las etapas de: a) hacer reaccionar, en una primera zona de reacción, una primera alimentación que comprende poli(etilén tereftalato) con etanol en presencia de un catalizador para formar una primera mezcla de producto de reacción en donde el catalizador se selecciona del grupo que consiste de impurezas catalizadoras, ftalocianina de cobre, zinc, cobalto, manganeso, magnesio, titanio, y combinaciones de los mismos; b) recuperar ésteres etil aromáticos a partir de la primera mezcla de producto de reacción; c) oxidante, en una segunda zona de reacción, una segunda alimentación que comprende al menos una porción de los ésteres etil aromáticos para formar ácido aromático carboxílico; y d) hacer reaccionar, en una tercera zona de reacción, al menos una porción del ácido aromático carboxílico y etilén glicol para formar un polímero que comprende poli(etilén tereftalato).
