La presente descripcion se refiere a proteínas de dedo de zinc obtenidas por ingeniería dirigidas a genes de 5-enolpiruviIshikimato-3-fosfatosintetasa (EPSPS) en plantas y métodos para usar dichas proteínas de dedo de zinc en la modulacion de la expresion génica, la inactivacion de genes y la modificacion dirigida de genes.
