- the function of inhibiting the causes of skin aging such as destruction of proteins, nucleic acids, and cell membrane lipids by free radicals, free radicals, peroxides, etc. is being considered important.
- skin aging is intrinsic aging, which is chronological aging that appears over time according to biological processes, and various pollutants and UV rays cause the skin to become thinner and lose elasticity, and exposure to UV radiation It is divided into extrinsic aging, including photoaging, which occurs when keratinocytes and melanocytes in the epidermis are damaged by UVB (Ultra Violet B).
- cyclooxygenase-2 (Cox-2, cyclooxygenase), an enzyme that produces proinflammatory cytokines known to cause inflammation in most cells of the skin due to aging or UV rays increases the biosynthesis of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP, Mztrix metalloproteinase), an enzyme that decomposes skin tissue by these inflammatory factors, and NO (nitric oxide) production by iNOS (inducible nitric oxide synthase) known to increase.
