Abstract
本発明の目的は、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒への良好な溶解性を示し、かつ、短時間のエイジングでも十分な接着強度を有する生分解性ポリエステル溶液を提供することである。ポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体と溶媒とを含む生分解性ポリエステル溶液であり、前記ポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体中の3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエートの平均含有比率が16mol%以上である、生分解性ポリエステル溶液を提供することにより、前記課題を解決する。
Description
本発明は、生分解性ポリエステル溶液およびその利用に関する。
石油由来プラスチックは毎年大量に廃棄されており、これらの大量廃棄物による埋立て処分場の不足や環境汚染が深刻な問題として取り上げられている。また、近年、上記廃棄物に由来したマイクロプラスチックが、海洋環境において大きな問題になっている。
ポリヒドロキシアルカノエート系樹脂は、優れた海水分解性を有しているため、廃棄されたプラスチックが引き起こす環境問題を解決し得る材料として注目されている。ポリヒドロキシアルカノエート系樹脂を二次加工する際には、接着剤、インク、コーティング剤等(「二次加工用部材」とも称する。)が使用されることがあるが、上記環境問題の観点からは、二次加工用部材も、海水分解性を有していることが求められる。
しかし、これまでのところ、そのような海水分解性を有する二次加工用部材は、ほとんど提供されていない。
海水分解性を有する二次加工用部材の例として、例えば、特許文献1には、ポリヒドロキシアルカノエート樹脂に対して反応性モノマー(例えば、アクリレートモノマー)を反応させた接着剤組成物が開示されている。
特許文献2には、一定の範囲のガラス転移温度Tgを有するポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-4-ヒドロキシブチレート)を酢酸ブチルに溶解して接着剤とする技術が開示されている。
しかしながら、特許文献1の接着剤組成物では、海水中での分解時に反応性モノマーユニットが分解されずに流出し、海洋環境汚染を引き起こす可能性がある。
また、特許文献2の接着剤では、十分な接着強度を発現するために24時間以上のエイジングが必要となり、実用面で改善の余地があった。
そこで、本発明の目的は、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒への良好な溶解性を示し、かつ、短時間のエイジングでも十分な接着強度を有する生分解性ポリエステル溶液を提供することにある。
本発明者らは、上記課題を解決すべく鋭意検討した結果、3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート(以下、3HHと称する。)の平均含有比率が特定の範囲にあるポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体(以下、「PHBH」と称する。)を用いることにより、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒への溶解性に優れること、および当該PHBHを含む生分解性ポリエステル溶液が短時間のエイジングでも十分な接着強度を有することを初めて見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。
したがって、本発明の一態様は、ポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体と有機溶媒とを含む生分解性ポリエステル溶液であり、前記ポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体中の3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエートの平均含有比率が16mol%以上である、生分解性ポリエステル溶液である。
本発明の一態様によれば、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒への良好な溶解性を示し、かつ、短時間のエイジングでも十分な接着強度を有する生分解性ポリエステル溶液を提供することができる。
本発明の実施の一形態について、以下に詳細に説明する。なお、本明細書において特記しない限り、数値範囲を表す「A~B」は、「A以上、B以下」を意味する。また、本明細書中に記載された文献の全てが、本明細書中において参考文献として援用される。
〔1.本発明の概要〕
本発明の一実施形態に係る生分解性ポリエステル溶液(以下、「本生分解性ポリエステル溶液」と称する。)は、ポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体と有機溶媒とを含む生分解性ポリエステル溶液であり、前記ポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体中の3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエートの平均含有比率が16mol%以上であることを特徴とする。
本発明の一実施形態に係る生分解性ポリエステル溶液(以下、「本生分解性ポリエステル溶液」と称する。)は、ポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体と有機溶媒とを含む生分解性ポリエステル溶液であり、前記ポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体中の3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエートの平均含有比率が16mol%以上であることを特徴とする。
本発明者らは、海水分解性を有する樹脂としてPHBHに着目し、当該PHBHを含むポリエステル溶液に関する技術について検討したところ、PHBHは、一般に有機溶媒には難溶であるものの、クロロホルム等のハロゲン系有機溶媒に対してはわずかに溶解することを見出した。しかし、ハロゲン系有機溶媒は、作業環境上、ヒトの健康に対して害を生じるという問題がある。
そこで、本発明者らが、さらに検討を進めたところ、3HHの平均含有比率が特定の範囲にあるPHBHを用いることにより、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒への溶解性に優れることを初めて見出した。また、得られたPHBH含有溶液が、短時間のエイジングでも十分な接着強度を有することが分かった。
このように、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒への良好な溶解性を示し、かつ、短時間のエイジングでも十分な接着強度を有する生分解性ポリエステル溶液の開示は初めてであり、本発明は、種々の分野での利用において極めて有用である。なお、ここでいう「良好な溶解性」とは、例えば、後述する実施例で示されるように、目視にてその白濁度合いを観察した場合の溶解状態が極めて良好(「◎」)または良好(「○」)であることを一例として挙げることができる。また、「短時間のエイジングでも十分な接着強度を有する」とは、例えば、後述する実施例で示されるように、JIS規格 Z0238の方法に従ったピール強度試験で、0.1N/15mm以上の接着強度を有することを一例として挙げることができる。
〔2.生分解性ポリエステル溶液〕
(PHBH)
PHBHは、3-ヒドロキシブチレート(「3HB」とも称する。)および3HHを繰り返し単位とする共重合体である。
(PHBH)
PHBHは、3-ヒドロキシブチレート(「3HB」とも称する。)および3HHを繰り返し単位とする共重合体である。
本発明の一実施形態において、PHBHは、微生物から産生する方法または化学合成法のいずれの方法によって得られてもよく、特に限定されない。中でも、微生物から産生する方法により得られるPHBHが、微粒子である点で好ましい。
PHBHを産生する微生物としては、細胞内にPHBHを蓄積し得る微生物であれば特に限定されないが、例えば、Alcaligenes lipolytica、Alcaligenes eutrophus、Alcaligenes latus等のアルカリゲネス属(Alcaligenes)、シュウドモナス属(Pseudomonas)、バチルス属(Bacillus)、アゾトバクター属(Azotobacter)、ノカルディア属(Nocardia)、アエロモナス属(Aeromonas)等の菌が挙げられる。中でも、PHBHの生産性の点で、特に、アエロモナス・キャビエ等の菌株が好ましく、PHA合成酵素群の遺伝子を導入したアルカリゲネス・ユートロファス AC32株(受託番号FERM BP-6038(平成8年8月12日に寄託された原寄託(FERM P-15786)より移管)(平成9年8月7日、独立行政法人産業技術総合研究所特許生物寄託センター、あて名;日本国茨城県つくば市東1丁目1番地1中央第6))(J.Bacteriol., 179, 4821-4830頁(1997))がより好ましい。また、アエロモナス属の微生物であるアエロモナス・キャビエ(Aeromonas caviae)からPHBHを得る方法は、例えば、特開平5-93049号公報に開示されている。なお、これらの微生物は、適切な条件下で培養して、菌体内にPHBHを蓄積させて用いられる。
培養に用いる炭素源および培養条件は、例えば、特開平5-93049号公報、特開2001-340078号公報等に記載の方法にしたがい得るが、これらに限定されない。
上記の方法で得られた微生物産生PHBHは、ランダム共重合体である。3HHの含有比率(組成)の調整は、例えば、菌体の選択、原料となる炭素源の選択、異なる3HH組成のPHBHのブレンド、3HBホモポリマーのブレンド等により行われ得る。例えば、菌体により産生されたPHBHをそのまま使用する方法、PHBH中の3HHの平均含有比率が本発明における所定の範囲となるように複数の菌体により産生されたPHBHを混合する方法等が挙げられる。
PHBH中の3HHの平均含有比率は、16mol%以上であり、好ましくは、18mol%以上であり、より好ましくは、20mol%以上であり、特に好ましくは、22mol%以上である。PHBH中の3HHの平均含有比率が16mol%以上であると非ハロゲン系有機溶媒に溶解性が良好となる効果を奏する。また、PHBH中の3HHの平均含有比率の上限は、特に限定されないが、製造しやすい点で、80mol%以下が好ましく、65mol%以下がより好ましく、50mol%以下が特に好ましい。なお、PHBH中の3HHの平均含有比率は、実施例に記載の方法で測定される。
本発明の一実施形態において、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液中のPHBHの重量平均分子量(g/mol)は、例えば、10~300万であり、好ましくは、15~250万であり、より好ましくは、20~230万であり、特に好ましくは、30~210万である。PHBHの重量平均分子量が5万以上であると良好な接着強度が発現する効果を奏する。PHBHの重量平均分子量が300万以下であると非ハロゲン系有機溶媒に短時間で溶解するとの効果を奏する。なお、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液中のPHBHの重量平均分子量は、ゲル浸透クロマトグラフィー(GPC)(昭和電工社製「Shodex GPC-101」)によって、カラムにポリスチレンゲル(昭和電工社製「Shodex K-804」)を用い、クロロホルムを移動相とし、ポリスチレン換算した場合の分子量として求めることができる。
(有機溶媒)
本明細書において、「有機溶媒」は、PHBHを良好に溶解できるものであれば特に限定されないが、作業環境上、ヒトの健康に対して問題が少ないという観点から、好ましくは、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒である。非ハロゲン系有機溶媒としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、酢酸エチル、酢酸ブチル、トルエン、キシレン、メチルエチルケトン、アセトン、アセトニトリル等が挙げられる。PHBHとの良好な溶解性および速い乾燥速度を有する観点から、好ましくは、酢酸エチル、アセトン、アセトニトリルが使用される。上記有機溶媒は、単独で用いてもよく、2種類以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
本明細書において、「有機溶媒」は、PHBHを良好に溶解できるものであれば特に限定されないが、作業環境上、ヒトの健康に対して問題が少ないという観点から、好ましくは、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒である。非ハロゲン系有機溶媒としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、酢酸エチル、酢酸ブチル、トルエン、キシレン、メチルエチルケトン、アセトン、アセトニトリル等が挙げられる。PHBHとの良好な溶解性および速い乾燥速度を有する観点から、好ましくは、酢酸エチル、アセトン、アセトニトリルが使用される。上記有機溶媒は、単独で用いてもよく、2種類以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
(生分解性ポリエステル溶液)
本明細書において、「生分解性ポリエステル溶液」とは、土壌中および/または海水中で微生物により分解され得るポリエステルを含む溶液を意味する。本生分解性ポリエステル溶液は、生分解性ポリエステルとして、少なくとも、PHBHを含む。
本明細書において、「生分解性ポリエステル溶液」とは、土壌中および/または海水中で微生物により分解され得るポリエステルを含む溶液を意味する。本生分解性ポリエステル溶液は、生分解性ポリエステルとして、少なくとも、PHBHを含む。
本発明の一実施形態において、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液中のPHBHの固形分濃度は、例えば、0.1~75重量%であり、好ましくは、0.25~73重量%であり、より好ましくは、0.5~70重量%である。PHBHの固形分濃度が0.1~75重量%の範囲であると、加工に適した粘度を有する効果を奏する。なお、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液中のPHBHの固形分濃度は、実施例に記載の方法で測定される。
本発明の一実施形態において、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液は、本発明の効果を奏する範囲で、PHBH以外の生分解性樹脂を1種または2種以上含んでいてもよい。そのような他の樹脂としては、例えば、ポリブチレンサクシネート、ポリカプロラクトン、ポリ乳酸等の脂肪族ポリエステル系樹脂や、ポリブチレンアジペートテレフタレート、ポリブチレンセバテートテレフタレート、ポリブチレンアゼレートテレフタレート等の脂肪族芳香族ポリエステル系樹脂等が挙げられる。これらの樹脂の添加量は、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液の生分解性を担保するために、30重量部以下が好ましい。
また、本発明の一実施形態において、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液は、本発明の効果を奏する範囲で、当該技術分野において通常用いられる添加剤を含んでいてもよい。そのような添加剤としては、例えば、タルク、炭酸カルシウム、マイカ、シリカ、酸化チタン、アルミナ等の無機充填剤、もみがら、木粉、新聞紙等の古紙、各種デンプン、セルロース等の有機充填剤、顔料、染料等の着色剤、活性炭、ゼオライト等の臭気吸収剤、バニリン、デキストリン等の香料、可塑剤、酸化防止剤、抗酸化剤、耐候性改良剤、紫外線吸収剤、結晶核剤、滑剤、離型剤、撥水剤、抗菌剤、摺動性改良剤、粘着付与剤、フィラー、薬剤等が挙げられる。添加剤は、1種のみを含んでいてもよいし、2種以上を含んでいてもよい。また、添加剤の固形分濃度は、その使用目的に応じて当業者が適宜設定可能である。
〔2.用途〕
本生分解性ポリエステル溶液は、上述の通り、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒への良好な溶解性を示し、かつ、短時間のエイジングでも十分な接着強度を有するため、種々の用途に適用できる。そのような用途としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、接着剤、粘着剤、インク、コーティング剤、バインダー、徐放性加工剤等が挙げられる。以下、代表例として、接着剤、インクについて詳述する。
本生分解性ポリエステル溶液は、上述の通り、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒への良好な溶解性を示し、かつ、短時間のエイジングでも十分な接着強度を有するため、種々の用途に適用できる。そのような用途としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、接着剤、粘着剤、インク、コーティング剤、バインダー、徐放性加工剤等が挙げられる。以下、代表例として、接着剤、インクについて詳述する。
(生分解性接着剤)
本発明の一実施形態において、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液を含む生分解性接着剤(以下、「本生分解性接着剤」と称する。)を提供する。本生分解性接着剤は、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒への良好な溶解性を示し、かつ、短時間のエイジングでも十分な接着強度を有する生分解性ポリエステル溶液を含むため、作業環境上、ヒトの健康に対して問題が少なく、従来の接着剤に比して有用である。
本発明の一実施形態において、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液を含む生分解性接着剤(以下、「本生分解性接着剤」と称する。)を提供する。本生分解性接着剤は、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒への良好な溶解性を示し、かつ、短時間のエイジングでも十分な接着強度を有する生分解性ポリエステル溶液を含むため、作業環境上、ヒトの健康に対して問題が少なく、従来の接着剤に比して有用である。
本生分解性接着剤中のPHBHの固形分濃度は、特に限定されないが、例えば、25~75重量%であり、好ましくは、28~73重量%であり、より好ましくは、30~70重量%である。PHBHの固形分濃度が25~75重量%の範囲であると、接着剤として塗布する際に適した粘度を有する効果を奏する。
本発明の一実施形態において、本生分解性接着剤は、その生分解性を損なわない範囲であれば、通常の接着剤に添加し得る種々の物質を含んでいてもよい。そのような添加剤としては、例えば、着色剤、フィラー、可塑剤、増量剤、樹脂類等が挙げられる。添加剤は、1種のみを含んでいてもよいし、2種以上を含んでいてもよい。また、添加剤の固形分濃度は、その使用目的に応じて当業者が適宜設定可能である。
本生分解性接着剤の接着強度としては、実施例で記載した方法で測定した際に、例えば、0.1N/15mm以上であり、好ましくは、1N/15mm以上である。接着強度が0.1N/15mm以上であれば、接着剤・粘着剤としての実用上の強度を有する効果を奏する。また、本生分解性接着剤の接着強度の上限としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、10N/15mm以下である。
(生分解性インク)
本発明の一実施形態において、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液と顔料および/または染料とを含む生分解性インク(以下、「本生分解性インク」と称する。)を提供する。本生分解性インクは、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒への良好な溶解性を示し、かつ、短時間のエイジングでも十分な接着強度を有する生分解性ポリエステル溶液を含むため、作業環境上、ヒトの健康に対して問題が少なく、従来のインクに比して有用である。
本発明の一実施形態において、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液と顔料および/または染料とを含む生分解性インク(以下、「本生分解性インク」と称する。)を提供する。本生分解性インクは、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒への良好な溶解性を示し、かつ、短時間のエイジングでも十分な接着強度を有する生分解性ポリエステル溶液を含むため、作業環境上、ヒトの健康に対して問題が少なく、従来のインクに比して有用である。
本生分解性インク中のPHBHの固形分濃度は、特に限定されないが、例えば、0.1~20重量%であり、好ましくは、0.2~18重量%であり、より好ましくは、0.5~15重量%である。PHBHの固形分濃度が0.1~20重量%の範囲であれば、インクとして塗布する際に適した粘度となる効果を奏する。
本生分解性インクに含まれる顔料としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、酸化チタン、炭酸カルシウム、硫酸バリウム、黄色酸化鉄、カーボンブラック、アルミニウム粉、雲母、チタン粉等が挙げられる。これらは1種でも2種以上でも用いることができる。
本生分解性インク中の顔料および/または染料の固形分濃度(顔料/染料重量と溶媒重量の和に対する、顔料/染料の重量%)は、特に限定されないが、例えば、0.1~20重量%であり、好ましくは、0.2~15重量%であり、より好ましくは、0.3~10重量%である。顔料および/または染料の固形分濃度が0.1重量%以上であれば、良好な着色効果を奏する。顔料および/または染料の固形分濃度が20重量%以下であれば、塗布する際に適した粘度となる効果を奏する。
本発明の一実施形態において、本生分解性インクは、上記の顔料および/または染料以外に、生分解性を損なわない範囲で、通常のインクに添加し得る種々の物質を含んでいてもよい。そのような添加剤としては、例えば、分散剤、界面活性剤、耐摩擦剤、防カビ剤、保存料、酸化防止剤、増粘安定剤、光沢剤等が挙げられる。添加剤は、1種のみを含んでいてもよいし、2種以上を含んでいてもよい。また、添加剤の固形分濃度は、その使用目的に応じて当業者が適宜設定可能である。
〔3.生分解性積層体〕
本発明の一実施形態において、生分解性基材と、前記生分解性基材の少なくとも片面に樹脂層とを含む生分解性積層体であって、前記樹脂層が、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液を前記生分解性基材に塗布して形成された、生分解性積層体(以下、「本生分解性積層体」と称する。)を提供する。本生分解性積層体は、生分解性ポリエステル溶液を生分解性基材に塗布することにより、簡便に、生分解性基材に対して、生分解性ポリエステル溶液中に含まれる樹脂の特性(例えば、接着性)を付与することができる。
本発明の一実施形態において、生分解性基材と、前記生分解性基材の少なくとも片面に樹脂層とを含む生分解性積層体であって、前記樹脂層が、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液を前記生分解性基材に塗布して形成された、生分解性積層体(以下、「本生分解性積層体」と称する。)を提供する。本生分解性積層体は、生分解性ポリエステル溶液を生分解性基材に塗布することにより、簡便に、生分解性基材に対して、生分解性ポリエステル溶液中に含まれる樹脂の特性(例えば、接着性)を付与することができる。
生分解性基材としては、生分解性を有しかつ形態保持性を有していれば特に限定されないが、例えば、紙(主成分がセルロース)、セロハン、セルロースエステル;ポリビニルアルコール、ポリアミノ酸、ポリグリコール酸、プルラン、生分解性ポリエステルまたはこれらの基材にアルミ、シリカ等の無機物を蒸着したもの等が挙げられる。中でも耐熱性に優れ、生分解性に優れる点から、紙または生分解性ポリエステルが好ましい。紙の種類は、特に限定されず、カップ原紙、片艶紙、クラフト紙、上質紙、コート紙、薄葉紙、グラシン紙、板紙等が挙げられる。
生分解性ポリエステルとしては、ポリブチレンサクシネート(PBS)系樹脂、ポリカプロラクトン(PCL)系樹脂、ポリヒドロキシアルカノエート系樹脂等の脂肪族ポリエステル樹脂や、ポリブチレンアジペートテレフタレート(PBAT)系樹脂、ポリブチレンセバテートテレフタレート系樹脂、ポリブチレンサクシネートテレフタレート系樹脂等の脂肪族芳香族ポリエステル樹脂が挙げられる。
生分解性基材の種類は、本積層体の用途に応じて適宜選択することができる。生分解性基材には、必要に応じて、耐水剤、撥水剤、無機物等を添加してもよく、酸素バリア層コーティング、水蒸気バリアコーティング等の表面処理が施されたものであってもよい。
本生分解性積層体は、例えば、前記生分解性基材の片面または両面に、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液を塗付し、必要に応じて更に乾燥して製造することができる。そのような方法としては、公知の手法を適宜実施でき、特に限定されない。
〔4.積層体の製造方法〕
本発明の一実施形態において、生分解性基材と、樹脂層とを含む、生分解性積層体の製造方法であって、前記生分解性基材の少なくとも片面に本生分解性ポリエステル溶液を塗付して前記樹脂層を形成する、塗布工程を含む、生分解性積層体の製造方法(「本積層体の製造方法」と称する。)を提供する。本積層体の製造方法はさらに、前記塗付後の生分解性ポリエステル溶液を乾燥する、乾燥工程、を含むことができる。
本発明の一実施形態において、生分解性基材と、樹脂層とを含む、生分解性積層体の製造方法であって、前記生分解性基材の少なくとも片面に本生分解性ポリエステル溶液を塗付して前記樹脂層を形成する、塗布工程を含む、生分解性積層体の製造方法(「本積層体の製造方法」と称する。)を提供する。本積層体の製造方法はさらに、前記塗付後の生分解性ポリエステル溶液を乾燥する、乾燥工程、を含むことができる。
本発明の一実施形態において、本積層体の製造方法は、以下の工程を含んでいてもよい:(a)本生分解性ポリエステル溶液の製造工程、(b)前記生分解性基材のくりだし工程、(c)前記生分解性ポリエステル溶液を前記生分解性基材に塗布する、塗布工程、および(d)前記塗付後の生分解性ポリエステル溶液を乾燥する、乾燥工程。また、(c)の塗布工程にかえて、前記生分解性基材を本生分解性ポリエステル溶液に浸漬して前記生分解性基材表面に本生分解性ポリエステル溶液を付着させる、浸漬工程を含むことができる。本積層体の製造方法における各工程を実施する方法は、公知の手法を適宜実施でき、特に限定されない。
本発明は上述した各実施形態に限定されるものではなく、請求項に示した範囲で種々の変更が可能であり、異なる実施形態にそれぞれ開示された技術的手段を適宜組み合わせて得られる実施形態についても本発明の技術的範囲に含まれる。
すなわち、本発明の一実施形態は、以下である。

実施例および比較例における評価を、以下の方法で行った。

実施例および比較例における評価を、以下の方法で行った。
(3HHの平均含有比率)
乾燥したポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体20mgに、2mLの硫酸-メタノール混液(容積比率15:85)と2mLのクロロホルムとを添加して密栓し、100℃で140分間加熱して、ポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体の分解物であるメチルエステルを得た。冷却後、これに1.5gの炭酸水素ナトリウムを少しずつ加えて中和し、炭酸ガスの発生がとまるまで放置した。4mLのジイソプロピルエーテルを添加して十分に混合した後、遠心分離を行い、上清中のポリエステル分解物のモノマーユニット組成をキャピラリーガスクロマトグラフィーにより分析した。
乾燥したポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体20mgに、2mLの硫酸-メタノール混液(容積比率15:85)と2mLのクロロホルムとを添加して密栓し、100℃で140分間加熱して、ポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体の分解物であるメチルエステルを得た。冷却後、これに1.5gの炭酸水素ナトリウムを少しずつ加えて中和し、炭酸ガスの発生がとまるまで放置した。4mLのジイソプロピルエーテルを添加して十分に混合した後、遠心分離を行い、上清中のポリエステル分解物のモノマーユニット組成をキャピラリーガスクロマトグラフィーにより分析した。
(固形分濃度)
固形分濃度は次式で算出した。

(重量平均分子量)
ゲル浸透クロマトグラフィー(GPC)(昭和電工社製「Shodex GPC-101」)により、カラムにポリスチレンゲル(昭和電工社製「Shodex K-804」)を用い、クロロホルムを移動相とし、ポリスチレン換算した場合の分子量として求めた。
固形分濃度は次式で算出した。

(重量平均分子量)

樹脂原料を溶媒に溶解し、60℃のオーブンで6時間加熱後に溶解状態を観察した。目視にてその白濁度合いを観察し、評価を行った。

(接着強度)
生分解性ポリエステル溶液を未晒し、クラフト紙(目付量:150g/m2)へ4ミルのアプリケーターで塗布し、塗布層(樹脂層)を形成した。次いで、同クラフト紙で塗布層を挟み込み、重量2kgのローラーを用いて貼合した。その後、60℃のオーブンで1時間加熱乾燥したものをサンプルとした。
生分解性ポリエステル溶液を未晒し、クラフト紙(目付量:150g/m2)へ4ミルのアプリケーターで塗布し、塗布層(樹脂層)を形成した。次いで、同クラフト紙で塗布層を挟み込み、重量2kgのローラーを用いて貼合した。その後、60℃のオーブンで1時間加熱乾燥したものをサンプルとした。
JIS規格 Z0238の方法に従い、サンプルを幅15mmに切り出し、ピール強度試験を行った。チャック間距離は100mm、引張速度は300mm/分で行った。ピール試験機は、島津オートグラフ EZ-LX(株式会社島津製作所製)を用いた。
(インク評価)
乾燥後のサンプルの生分解性インク滴下部分を指で押さえて、インク特性を評価した。

〔実施例1〕
(接着剤の調製)
樹脂原料としてPHBH1を用い、溶媒として酢酸エチルを添加して、固形分濃度が30重量%となるように調製した。次いで、60℃のオーブンで6時間加熱することで生分解性ポリエステル溶液接着剤を作製した。このときの状態を目視で観察し、PHBHの溶解状態を評価した。
(接着剤の調製)
樹脂原料としてPHBH1を用い、溶媒として酢酸エチルを添加して、固形分濃度が30重量%となるように調製した。次いで、60℃のオーブンで6時間加熱することで生分解性ポリエステル溶液接着剤を作製した。このときの状態を目視で観察し、PHBHの溶解状態を評価した。
作製した溶液を未晒し、クラフト紙(目付量:150g/m2)へ4ミルのアプリケーターで塗布し、塗布層(樹脂層)を形成した。次いで、同クラフト紙で塗布層を挟み込み、重量2kgのローラーを用いて貼合した。その後、60℃のオーブンで1時間加熱乾燥したものをサンプルとし、接着強度を評価した。PHBHの溶解状態および接着強度の評価結果を表1に示す。
(インクの調製)
樹脂原料としてPHBH1を用い、溶媒として酢酸エチルを添加して、固形分濃度が10重量%となるように調製した。次いで、顔料として酸化チタン粉を2部添加した。その後、60℃のオーブンで6時間加熱し、ホモジナイザーを用いて顔料を分散させ生分解性インクを作製した。
樹脂原料としてPHBH1を用い、溶媒として酢酸エチルを添加して、固形分濃度が10重量%となるように調製した。次いで、顔料として酸化チタン粉を2部添加した。その後、60℃のオーブンで6時間加熱し、ホモジナイザーを用いて顔料を分散させ生分解性インクを作製した。
黒い紙上に、インク溶液をスポイトで1ml滴下し、60℃/1時間乾燥したものをサンプルとし、インク特性を評価した。
〔実施例2〕
原料をPHBH2に変更した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、PHBHの溶解状態および接着強度、ならびにインク特性を評価した。結果を表1に示す。

表1より、実施例では、比較例に比して、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒へのPHBHの溶解状態が良好であることが示された。また、実施例で製造した生分解性ポリエステル溶液を含む生分解性接着剤は、接着強度が優れていることが示された。さらに、実施例で製造した生分解性ポリエステル溶液を含む生分解性インクは、良好なインク特性を有することが示された。
以上より、本生分解性ポリエステル溶液は、非ハロゲン系有機溶媒への良好な溶解性を示し、かつ、短時間のエイジングでも十分な接着強度を有することが分かった。
本発明の生分解性ポリエステル溶液は、塗料、接着剤、インク、繊維加工、シート・フィルム加工、紙加工等を含む種々の分野において、好適に利用することができる。
Claims (10)
- ポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体と有機溶媒とを含む生分解性ポリエステル溶液であり、
前記ポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体中の3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエートの平均含有比率が16mol%以上である、生分解性ポリエステル溶液。 - 前記有機溶媒が非ハロゲン系有機溶媒である、請求項1に記載の生分解性ポリエステル溶液。
- 前記生分解性ポリエステル溶液中の前記共重合体の固形分濃度が0.1~75重量%である、請求項1または2に記載の生分解性ポリエステル溶液。
- 前記ポリ(3-ヒドロキシブチレート-コ-3-ヒドロキシヘキサノエート)共重合体の重量平均分子量が10~300万g/molである、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の生分解性ポリエステル溶液。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の生分解性ポリエステル溶液を含む、生分解性接着剤。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の生分解性ポリエステル溶液と顔料および/または染料とを含む、生分解性インク。
- 生分解性基材と、前記生分解性基材の少なくとも片面に樹脂層とを含む生分解性積層体であって、
前記樹脂層が、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の生分解性ポリエステル溶液を前記生分解性基材に塗布して形成された、生分解性積層体。 - 前記生分解性基材が、紙または生分解性ポリエステルである、請求項7に記載の生分解性積層体。
- 生分解性基材と、樹脂層とを含む、生分解性積層体の製造方法であって、
前記生分解性基材の少なくとも片面に請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の生分解性ポリエステル溶液を塗付して前記樹脂層を形成する、塗布工程を含む、生分解性積層体の製造方法。 - 前記生分解性基材が、紙または生分解性ポリエステルである、請求項9に記載の生分解性積層体の製造方法。
