Definitions
- the present invention relates to a packaging member having a surface excellent in liquid repellency.
- plastics are easier to mold than glass and metal, and can be easily molded into various shapes, so that they are used in various applications.
- the field of packaging such as a container such as a bottle and a cap attached to the container is a typical field of plastic use.
- Patent Documents 1 to 3 propose a means for providing a coating of a fluorine-containing resin such as polytetrafluoroethylene on the surface and a means for making the surface rough.
- Patent Document 4 discloses a fluorine-containing material comprising a synthetic resin base material, a treated surface formed on one surface of the substrate by plasma etching, and a fluorine compound supported on the treated surface by vapor deposition. A vapor deposition container provided with a film has been proposed.
- the means for allowing the fluorine-containing resin to be present on the surface of the molded body is to impart liquid repellency to the surface by the fluorine-containing resin, and has been widely used.
- such means has a problem that the fluorine-containing resin is easily peeled off because of poor adhesion between the fluorine-containing resin and the underlying substrate surface. This is the same when a film made of a fluorine compound is formed by vapor deposition.
- the means for making the surface rough is to make an air layer exist between the liquid flowing on the surface and the surface of the substrate, and utilizing the fact that air exhibits the highest liquid repellency.
- an excellent liquid repellency is expressed on the surface of the molded body.
- by providing the fluorine-containing resin coating on the rough surface there is an effect that the peeling from the surface of the fluorine-containing resin coating can be suppressed.
- rough surface processing for example, etching
- rough surface processing becomes difficult depending on the surface form of the molded body. .
- Patent Document 5 discloses that the present applicant assigns liquid repellency to the surface of the molded body by performing fluorine plasma treatment on the surface of the plastic molded body. According to such means, since the liquid repellency is imparted by introducing fluorine atoms into the polymer forming the surface of the molded body instead of providing the fluororesin on the molded surface, peeling of the fluororesin, etc. The problem is effectively avoided. In addition, the surface of the molded body is etched and roughened by the fluorine plasma treatment, so that remarkably high liquid repellency is imparted. However, such means requires a very expensive apparatus called fluorine plasma treatment after plastic molding, and the treatment must be performed in a batch system, which is problematic in terms of production cost and production efficiency.
- the core component is made of a thermoplastic resin and the sheath component is made of a thermoplastic resin containing a fluorinated copolymer.
- the sheath component is made of a thermoplastic resin containing a fluorinated copolymer.
- heat treatment at a temperature of 160 to 200 ° C.
- a core-sheath type composite fiber characterized by the above has been proposed.
- Such a composite fiber has a fluorine-based copolymer distributed on the surface and is excellent in water repellency, oil repellency and antifouling properties. That is, in Patent Document 6, by performing a heat treatment at a temperature of 160 ° C. to 200 ° C. for about 15 seconds to 5 minutes, the bond of the fluorine-based copolymer can be subjected to thermal molecular motion.
- an object of the present invention is to effectively prevent peeling from the surface of a material exhibiting liquid repellency, and further, excellent liquid repellency without performing special means such as roughening, plasma treatment and vapor deposition. It is providing the packaging member provided with the surface which shows this, and its manufacturing method.
- the present invention has a surface layer formed from a blend in which a base polymer is mixed with a fluorine-containing polymer, and the surface layer is a fluorine in which more fluorine atoms are distributed on the surface than inside.
- a packaging member having a liquid repellent surface, wherein an atomic concentration gradient is formed.
- the surface exhibits water repellency with a water contact angle of 105 degrees or more
- the surface is a smooth surface having an arithmetic average surface roughness (Ra) of 10 ⁇ m or less
- the fluorine-containing polymer is a fluorine-containing acrylic resin or fluorine-containing silicone resin
- the base polymer is polyolefin or polyester
- the blend is blended in an amount of 0.01 to 50 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the base polymer.
- the surface layer made of the blend has a laminated structure formed on at least one surface of the base substrate. Is preferred.
- a packaging member having a surface formed by the blend is obtained by using a blend in which a fluorine-containing polymer is mixed with a base polymer.
- a method for producing a packaging member having a liquid-repellent surface characterized in that a migration treatment is carried out for 1 second or longer at a temperature of not lower than 160 ° C and lower than 160 ° C.
- the packaging member of the present invention has a basic structure of having a surface layer formed of a blend of a fluorine-containing polymer mixed with a base polymer.
- a basic structure of having a surface layer formed of a blend of a fluorine-containing polymer mixed with a base polymer.
- This is important because the fluorine-containing polymer present in the surface layer is not uniformly distributed, but a concentration gradient of fluorine atoms is formed in which more fluorine atoms are distributed on the surface than inside. It has characteristics.
- the packaging member of the present invention exhibits liquid repellency with respect to various liquids by the fluorine-containing polymer, and in this respect, it is common with conventionally known packaging members.
- this fluorine-containing polymer is blended in the base polymer forming the surface of the packaging member. For this reason, this fluorine-containing polymer is fixed to the surface of the packaging member together with the base polymer, and the disadvantage that the fluorine-containing polymer falls off due to peeling or the like is effectively avoided. It will be demonstrated stably over time.
- the fluorine-containing polymer present in the surface layer forming the packaging member surface has more fluorine atoms distributed on the surface than inside. With such a fluorine atom concentration gradient, in the present invention, the liquid repellency due to the fluorine-containing polymer is maximized, and the amount of the expensive fluorine-containing polymer added can be reduced.
- the concentration gradient of fluorine atoms as described above is 30 ° C. or higher and 160 ° C. after molding a packaging member having a surface layer formed of a blend of a base polymer and a fluorine-containing polymer. It can be easily formed by performing a migration process of holding at a temperature lower than 0 ° C. for 1 second or longer. That is, by this migration treatment, the fluorine-containing polymer having a small surface free energy gradually moves from the inside to the surface, and as a result, the fluorine atom concentration is the highest on the surface and decreases toward the inside.
- the packaging member of the present invention can be applied to various uses.
- the present invention particularly relates to a packaging field in which dripping, adhesion remaining, and dischargeability (falling property) are particularly problematic when the content liquid is discharged, such as packaging materials such as containers such as caps and bottles, spouts, nozzles, Applicable to applications where the surface of a pipette, dispenser, etc. is in contact with a liquid.
- the wettability of the peripheral portion of the spout is lowered, so that the effect that the droplet diameter formed at the front end of the spout is reduced and a small amount can be dropped can be expected.
- the packaging member of the present invention has a laminated structure in which a surface layer 1 is formed on the surface of a base substrate 3.
- the surface layer 1 is composed of a blend of a base polymer and a fluorine-containing polymer, and on this surface 1a, fluorine-containing groups Rf of the fluorine-containing polymer are distributed due to migration. Shows great liquid repellency for various liquids.
- fluorinated polymer examples include polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), polyvinyl fluoride (PVF), perfluoroalkoxy fluororesin (PFA), Typical examples include ethylene / hexafluoropropylene copolymer (FEP), ethylene / tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (ETFE), and ethylene / chlorotrifluoroethylene copolymer (ECTFE).
- PTFE polytetrafluoroethylene
- PCTFE polychlorotrifluoroethylene
- PVDF polyvinylidene fluoride
- PVDF polyvinyl fluoride
- PFA perfluoroalkoxy fluororesin
- Typical examples include ethylene / hexafluoropropylene copolymer (FEP), ethylene / tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (ETFE),
- the fluorine-containing acrylic resin is, for example, the following formula: Rf—CH 2 —CH 2 —OOC— (CX) ⁇ CH 2
- Rf is a fluorine-containing alkyl group such as a perfluoroalkyl group
- X is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group such as a methyl group
- a polymer obtained by polymerizing this is preferred.
- the fluorine-containing silicone resin is, for example, the following formula: (RO) 2 RfSiO- (RORfSiO) n-SiRf (OR) 2
- R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group such as a methyl group
- Rf is a fluorine-containing group such as a fluoroalkyl group
- n is a number indicating the degree of polymerization, It is polyorganosiloxane represented by these.
- fluorine-containing polymer it is generally said that a fluorine-containing group having a molecular weight of less than C8 telomer is preferable from the viewpoint of safety.
- the base polymer to which the above-mentioned fluorine-containing polymer is blended is a resin that does not contain fluorine. By using such a base polymer, it is possible to ensure adhesion with the base material 3 that is the base of the surface layer 1. In addition, the fluorine-containing polymer distributed on the surface 1a can be firmly held on the surface layer 1 by migration.
- thermoplastic resin As such a base polymer, any of a thermoplastic resin and a thermosetting resin can be used, but a thermoplastic resin is particularly preferable from the viewpoints of moldability, migration of a fluoropolymer, and the like.
- thermoplastic resins include low density polyethylene, high density polyethylene, polypropylene, poly 1-butene, poly 4-methyl-1-pentene or ethylene, propylene, 1-butene, 4-methyl-1-pentene, etc.

- the blend of the base polymer and the fluororesin forming the surface layer 1 is 0.01 to 50 parts by weight, preferably 0.05 to 10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the base polymer. It is preferable that the fluoropolymer is blended in an amount of more preferably 0.05 to less than 3 parts by mass, particularly preferably 0.1 to 1 part by mass. Even if the blending amount of the fluorine-containing polymer is blended more than necessary, the liquid repellency is not further improved. Rather, it is unsatisfactory in terms of cost or the surface layer 1 peels from the base substrate 3. It becomes easy. Moreover, when there are few compounding quantities of a fluorine-containing polymer, it becomes difficult to ensure sufficient liquid repellency also by the migration process (heating process) mentioned later.
- the surface layer 1 made of the blend as described above has a fluorine atom concentration gradient formed by a migration process described later, and the fluorine atoms on the surface 1 a have a higher concentration than the inside of the surface layer 1. ing. That is, as shown in FIG. 1, the fluorine-containing functional group Rf possessed by the fluorine-containing polymer is distributed so as to be exposed on the surface 1a side, whereby the fluorine-containing polymer is contained in the surface layer 1. Compared with the case where it is uniformly dispersed, more excellent liquid repellency is exhibited.
- the excellent liquid repellency in the present invention can be confirmed by measuring the water contact angle.
- the surface 1a of the packaging member of the present invention is 105.
- a water contact angle (measured at 23 ° C.) of not less than 50 ° C. is exhibited, and the surface is water repellent.
- the base substrate 3 may be formed of an appropriate material according to the use of the packaging member, and may be formed of, for example, plastic, paper, glass, metal, etc. From the viewpoint of adhesiveness with the surface layer 1, plastic and paper are preferable, and in order to ensure adhesiveness with the surface layer 1, an adhesive resin known per se can also be used. Furthermore, the base substrate 3 can also have a multilayer structure using a gas barrier resin typified by an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer as an intermediate layer. In the present invention, from the viewpoint of moldability, adhesion, etc., the surface of the base substrate 3 that is in contact with the surface layer 1 is formed of an olefin resin or an ester resin, particularly an olefin resin. Most preferred.
- the underlying substrate 3 is provided in principle. However, it may be a single layer structure by the blend. However, in this case, the amount of expensive fluorine-containing polymer used is increased, which is disadvantageous in terms of cost, and uses are greatly limited. Therefore, it is preferable to have a laminated structure in which the surface layer 1 is formed on the base substrate 3.
- the base substrate 3 may have an appropriate form depending on the application, for example, a bottle, a film, a bag, a cup, a paper cup, a container lid, a spout, and the like. It only has to be. - the migration process is performed at a temperature lower than the above temperature, the migration of the fluoropolymer will be insufficient, and even if the liquid repellency is improved by the migration, it will take a very long time and will be adopted industrially. Can not do it.
- the time for the migration treatment is short, the migration of the fluorine-containing polymer is still insufficient, and the improvement in liquid repellency is not exhibited.
- a water-repellent surface having a water contact angle of 105 degrees or more can be obtained.
- the surface layer 1 is locally heated, so that migration is possible even with a heating time of 1 second.
- a water-repellent surface having a water contact angle of 105 degrees or more, particularly 110 degrees or more can be realized by performing the migration treatment as described above.

Moreover, since the surface 1a of this packaging member has favorable liquid cutting

Description

(RO)2RfSiO-(RORfSiO)n-SiRf(OR)2

かかる熱可塑性樹脂の例としては、低密度ポリエチレン、高密度ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリ1-ブテン、ポリ4-メチル-1-ペンテンあるいはエチレン、プロピレン、1-ブテン、4-メチル-1-ペンテン等のα-オレフィン同士のランダムあるいはブロック共重合体、環状オレフィン共重合体などのオレフィン系樹脂;
