 本開示は、無段変速機の伝動ベルトに関する。

 そこで、本開示の発明は、積層リング、複数のエレメントおよびリテーナリングを含む伝動ベルトにおいて、複数のエレメントに対するリテーナリングの組付性を確保しつつ、リテーナリングの耐久性を向上させることを主目的とする。

 このような伝動ベルトでは、無段変速機の作動中に積層リングに張力が作用して当該積層リングの伸びを生じた際に、積層リングとリテーナリングとの間にクリアランスを確保して、リテーナリングに張力が実質的に作用しないようにすることが可能となる。従って、リテーナリングの剛性を必要以上に高くすることなく、リテーナリングに伸びを生じさせないようにすることができる。この結果、複数のエレメントに対するリテーナリングの組付性を確保しつつ、リテーナリングの耐久性を向上させることが可能となる。
 本開示の他の伝動ベルトは、無段変速機のプライマリプーリおよびセカンダリプーリに巻き掛けられる伝動ベルトにおいて、厚み方向に積層された複数のリング材を含む積層リングと、前記積層リングの内周面と接触するサドル面と、前記サドル面の幅方向における両側から前記積層リングの径方向に延出された一対のピラー部と、それぞれ前記ピラー部の遊端部から前記サドル面の幅方向に突出して互いに対向する一対のフック部とを有し、前記積層リングに沿って環状に配列される複数のエレメントと、前記積層リングの最外層リング材の径方向外側、かつ前記複数のエレメントの前記フック部の径方向内側に配置され、前記一対のフック部の前記幅方向における間隔よりも長い幅を有するリテーナリングとを備え、前記リテーナリングの内周長が、前記無段変速機の作動中に前記積層リングに張力が作用するときの前記最外層リング材の外周長よりも長くなるように定められているものである。

 図1は、本開示の伝動ベルト10を含む無段変速機1を示す概略構成図である。同図に示す無段変速機1は、駆動側回転軸としてのプライマリシャフト2と、当該プライマリシャフト2に設けられたプライマリプーリ3と、プライマリシャフト2と平行に配置される従動側回転軸としてのセカンダリシャフト4と、当該セカンダリシャフト4に設けられたセカンダリプーリ5とを含む。図示するように、伝動ベルト10は、プライマリプーリ3のプーリ溝(V字溝)とセカンダリプーリ5のプーリ溝(V字溝)とに巻き掛けられる。
 プライマリシャフト2は、図示しない前後進切換機構を介して、エンジン(内燃機関)といった動力発生源に連結されたインプットシャフト(図示省略)に連結される。プライマリプーリ3は、プライマリシャフト2と一体に形成された固定シーブ3aと、プライマリシャフト2にボールスプライン等を介して軸方向に摺動自在に支持される可動シーブ3bとを含む。また、セカンダリプーリ5は、セカンダリシャフト4と一体に形成された固定シーブ5aと、セカンダリシャフト4にボールスプライン等を介して軸方向に摺動自在に支持されると共にリターンスプリング8により軸方向に付勢される可動シーブ5bとを含む。
 更に、無段変速機1は、プライマリプーリ3の溝幅を変更するための油圧式アクチュエータであるプライマリシリンダ6と、セカンダリプーリ5の溝幅を変更するための油圧式アクチュエータであるセカンダリシリンダ7とを含む。プライマリシリンダ6は、プライマリプーリ3の可動シーブ3bの背後に形成され、セカンダリシリンダ7は、セカンダリプーリ5の可動シーブ5bの背後に形成される。プライマリシリンダ6とセカンダリシリンダ7とには、プライマリプーリ3とセカンダリプーリ5との溝幅を変化させるべく図示しない油圧制御装置から作動油が供給され、それにより、エンジン等からインプットシャフトや前後進切換機構を介してプライマリシャフト2に伝達されたトルクを無段階に変速してセカンダリシャフト4に出力することができる。セカンダリシャフト4に出力されたトルクは、ギヤ機構、デファレンシャルギヤおよびドライブシャフトを介して車両の駆動輪(何れも図示省略)に伝達される。
 図2は、伝動ベルト10を示す部分断面図である。同図に示すように、伝動ベルト10は、弾性変形可能な複数(本実施形態では9個)のリング材11を厚み方向(リング径方向)に積層することにより構成された1個の積層リング12と、積層リング12の内周面に沿って環状に配列(結束)される複数(例えば、数百個)のエレメント15と、リテーナリング17とを含む。積層リング12を構成する複数のリング材11は、それぞれ鋼板製のドラムから切り出された弾性変形可能なものであって、概ね同一の厚み(例えば180~190μm程度)およびそれぞれについて予め定められた異なる周長を有するように加工されている。
 各エレメント15は、例えばプレス加工により鋼板から打ち抜かれたものであり、図3に示すように、図中水平に延びる基部150と、当該基部150の両端部から同方向に延出された一対のピラー部151と、各ピラー部151の遊端側に開口するように一対のピラー部151の間に画成された凹部152とを有する。また、エレメント15の両側の側面(基部150の側面)は、プライマリプーリ3のプーリ溝やセカンダリプーリ5のプーリ溝の表面と当接するトルク伝達面としてのフランク面15fとなる。更に、基部150の一方の表面の幅方向における中央部には、1個の突起(ディンプル)150pが形成されており、当該突起150pの裏面側には、隣り合うエレメント15の突起150pが遊嵌される図示しない凹部が形成されている。
 一対のピラー部151は、凹部152の底面であるサドル面152sの幅方向における両側から積層リング12の径方向における外側(図中上方)に延出されており、各ピラー部151の遊端部には、サドル面152sの幅方向に突出するフック部153が形成されている。一対のフック部153は、当該幅方向において、積層リング12(リング材11)の幅よりも若干長い間隔をおいて互いに対向する。凹部152内には、図2に示すように、積層リング12が配置され、当該凹部152のサドル面152sは、積層リング12すなわち最内層のリング材11の内周面に接触する。サドル面152sは、幅方向における中央部を頂部として幅方向外側に向かうにつれて図中下方に緩やかに傾斜した、いわゆるクラウニング形状を有する。
 リテーナリング17は、例えば鋼板製のドラムから切り出された弾性変形可能なものであり、リング材11と概ね同一若しくはそれよりも薄い厚みと、一対のフック部153同士の上記幅方向における間隔よりも長い幅とを有する。かかるリテーナリング17は、弾性変形させられて各エレメント15の一対のフック部153の間を介して凹部152に嵌め込まれる。そして、リテーナリング17は、積層リング12の最外層リング材11o(図2参照)の外周面と各エレメント15のフック部153との間に配置されて積層リング12を包囲し、各エレメント15が積層リング12から脱落するのを規制する。これにより、複数のエレメント15は、積層リング12の内周面に沿って環状に結束(配列)される。本実施形態において、リテーナリング17には、図4に示すように、単一の長穴状の開口17oが形成されている。これにより、リテーナリング17を弾性変形し易くしてエレメント15に対する組付性を確保することができる。なお、リテーナリング17には、複数の開口17oが周方向に間隔をおいて形成されてもよい。
 また、リテーナリング17は、積層リング12の最外層リング材11oの外周長よりも長い内周長を有する。これにより、積層リング12とリテーナリング17とが同心円状に配置された状態(張力が作用しない無負荷状態)では、図2に示すように、最外層リング材11oの外周面とリテーナリング17の内周面との間に、環状のクリアランスが形成される。本実施形態において、リテーナリング17の内周長は、最外層リング材11oの外周面とリテーナリング17の内周面とのクリアランスが上記無負荷状態で例えばリング材11の厚みよりも若干大きくなるように定められている。更に、本実施形態において、リテーナリング17の外周長は、積層リング12とリテーナリング17とが同心円状に配置された状態で、図2に示すように、当該リテーナリング17の外周面が各エレメント15のフック部153の内周面に当接するように定められている。
 上述のような伝動ベルト10のエレメント15では、トルク伝達部となるロッキングエッジ(図示省略)をサドル面152sにより近接させてトルクの伝達効率を向上させることが可能となる。また、エレメント15では、2本(2列)の積層リングに対応したエレメントに比べて、材料の削減により低コスト化を図ることができる。その一方で、エレメント15を含む伝動ベルト10では、2本の積層リングを含む伝動ベルトにはないリテーナリング17の組付性を確保しつつ、その耐久性を向上させる必要がある。このため、本発明者らは、リテーナリング17の耐久性を向上させる観点から、鋭意研究・解析を行った。その結果、リテーナリング17が積層リング12に接触するように伝動ベルト10を構成した場合(上記特許文献1の図3、図4等参照)、リテーナリング17の耐久性が著しく低下し、無段変速機1の作動中に当該リテーナリング17が破損・破断してしまうおそれがあることが判明した。
 すなわち、無段変速機1では、図5に示すように、プライマリプーリ3に伝達されるトルクが大きくなるにつれて、積層リング12に作用する張力Frが大きくなり、それにより積層リング12の伸び量が大きくなる(なお、図5における“R”は、伝動ベルト10の中心からリング材11およびリテーナリング15の内周面や外周面までの距離を示す。)。また、無段変速機1の作動中、積層リング12に作用する張力Frおよび積層リング12の伸び量は、図5に示すように、当該無段変速機1の最大変速比状態(変速比γが最ロー側の変速比γmaxに設定された状態)でエンジン等からプライマリプーリ3に伝達されるトルクTinが最大(Tin=Tmax)になるときにそれぞれ最大になる。そして、積層リング12の伸び量が大きくなると、積層リング12すなわち最外層リング材11oの拡径に伴ってリテーナリング17に作用する張力Frが大きくなり、当該張力Frが許容引張応力を超えると、リテーナリング17が破断してしまう。また、積層リング12の外周面とフック部153の内周面とのクリアランスが大きすぎると、積層リング12に対するエレメント15の挙動が悪化してしまう(不安定になってしまう)おそれがある。
 これらを踏まえて、本実施形態の伝動ベルト10において、リテーナリング17の内周長(伸びを生じていないときの内周長)は、無段変速機1の作動中に積層リング12に張力Frが作用するときの最外層リング材11oの外周長よりも長くなるように定められる。具体的には、リテーナリング17の内周長は、無段変速機1の最大変速比状態でエンジン等からプライマリプーリ3に伝達されるトルク(入力トルクTin)が最大(Tin=Tmax)となるときの最外層リング材11oの外周長よりも長くなるように定められる。すなわち、伝動ベルト10の設計に際しては、無段変速機1の最大変速比γmaxや、最大入力トルクTmax、プライマリプーリ3、セカンダリプーリ5および積層リング12の諸元等に基づいて、最大変速比状態で入力トルクTinが最大になるときの最外層リング材11oの外周長を求めたうえで、求めた最外層リング材11oの外周長よりもリテーナリング17の内周長を長くする。これにより、リテーナリング17と最外層リング材11oとの周長差は、互いに重なり合うリング材11同士の周長差、すなわち互いに重なり合うリング材11同士の周長差の最大値よりも長くなる。リテーナリング17の内周長と最外層リング材111oの外周長との周長差は、互いに重なり合う2つのリング材11における内側のリング材11の外周長と外側のリング材11の内周長との周長差の最大値よりも長くなる。すなわち、リテーナリング17の内周長と最外層リング材111oの外周長との周長差は、第n層(内側)のリング材11の外周長と第n+1層(外側)のリング材の11の内周長との周長差(ただし、“n”は、1からN(=積層リングの総数-1)までの整数である。)よりも長くなる。
 このように構成される伝動ベルト10では、無段変速機1の最大変速比状態でプライマリプーリ3に伝達されるトルクが最大となって張力Frの作用により積層リング12の伸び量(および張力Fr)が最大になったときにも、図5に示すように、積層リング12とリテーナリング17との間の周方向における少なくとも一部にクリアランスCLが形成されることになる。これにより、無段変速機1の作動中、積層リングとリテーナリングとの間の当該積層リングの周方向における少なくとも一部(プライマリプーリ3等により挟まれているエレメント15の周辺)にクリアランスを確保して、リテーナリング17に張力Frが実質的に作用しないようにすることが可能となる。従って、リテーナリング17の剛性を必要以上に高くすることなく、リテーナリング17に伸びを生じさせないようにすることができる。この結果、複数のエレメント15に対するリテーナリング17の組付性を確保しつつ、リテーナリング17の耐久性を向上させることが可能となる。
 また、リテーナリング17の外周面とフック部153の内周面とのクリアランスは、図5からわかるように、プライマリプーリ3にトルクが伝達されていないときに最小となり、プライマリプーリ3に伝達されるトルクの増加に伴い、当該プライマリプーリ3によって保持(挟持)されたエレメント15および積層リング12が径方向外側に移動するにつれて大きくなっていく。これを踏まえて、本実施形態の伝動ベルト10において、リテーナリング17の外周長は、積層リング12とリテーナリング17とが同心円状に配置された状態(張力Frが作用しない無負荷状態)で当該リテーナリング17の外周面が各エレメント15のフック部153の内周面に当接するように定められる。すなわち、プライマリプーリ3にトルクが伝達されていないときに、リテーナリング17の外周面は、複数のエレメント15のフック部153の内周面に当接し、当該リテーナリング17の外周面とフック部153の内周面とのクリアランスは、実質的にゼロになる。
 これにより、プライマリプーリ3に伝達されるトルクが増加するのに伴って各エレメント15が径方向外側に移動したときに、リテーナリング17の外周面とフック部153の内周面とのクリアランスをより小さくすることが可能となる。この結果、積層リング12の外周面と各エレメント15のフック部153の内周面とのクリアランスが大きくなるのを抑えることができるので、エレメント15の挙動の悪化(不安定になること)を抑制することが可能となる。
 更に、本実施形態の伝動ベルト10では、フック部153の内周面(リテーナリング17と当接する部分)と、エレメント15のフック部153の内周面と対向する部分(本実施形態では、ピラー部151の内面)との距離d1が、フック部153の内周面と、最外層リング材11oの外周面との径方向(エレメント15の高さ方向)における最短距離d2よりも長くなっている(図2参照)。これにより、無段変速機1の作動中にリテーナリング17が各エレメント15と接触しないようにして、プライマリプーリ3の固定シーブ3aおよび可動シーブ3bやセカンダリプーリ5の固定シーブ5aおよび可動シーブ5bからエレメント15に狭圧力が作用した際に当該エレメント15からリテーナリング17に応力が加えられてしまうのを抑制することができる。この結果、リテーナリング17の耐久性をより向上させることが可能となる。
 以上説明したように、本開示の伝動ベルトは、無段変速機(1)のプライマリプーリ(3)およびセカンダリプーリ(5)に巻き掛けられる伝動ベルト(10)において、厚み方向に積層された複数のリング材(11,11o)を含む積層リング(12)と、前記積層リング(12)の内周面と接触するサドル面(152s)と、前記サドル面(152s)の幅方向における両側から積層リング(12)の径方向に延出された一対のピラー部(151)と、それぞれ前記ピラー部(151)の遊端部から前記サドル面(152s)の幅方向に突出して互いに対向する一対のフック部(153)とを有し、前記積層リング(12)に沿って環状に配列される複数のエレメント(15)と、前記積層リング(12)の最外層リング材(11o)の径方向外側、かつ前記複数のエレメント(15)の前記フック部(153)の径方向内側に配置され、前記一対のフック部(153)の前記幅方向における間隔よりも長い幅を有するリテーナリング(17)とを備え、 前記リテーナリング(17)の内周長と前記最外層リング材(11o)の外周長との周長差は、互いに重なり合う2つの前記リング材(11)における内側の前記リング材(11)の外周長と外側の前記リング材(11)の内周長との周長差よりも長いものである。
 このような伝動ベルトでは、無段変速機の作動中に積層リングに張力が作用して当該積層リングの伸びを生じた際に、積層リングとリテーナリングとの間にクリアランスを確保して、リテーナリングに張力が実質的に作用しないようにすることが可能となる。従って、リテーナリングの剛性を必要以上に高くすることなく、リテーナリングに伸びを生じさせないようにすることができる。この結果、複数のエレメントに対するリテーナリングの組付性を確保しつつ、リテーナリングの耐久性を向上させることが可能となる。
 本開示の他の伝動ベルトは、無段変速機(1)のプライマリプーリ(3)およびセカンダリプーリ(5)に巻き掛けられる伝動ベルト(10)において、厚み方向に積層された複数のリング材(11,11o)を含む積層リング(12)と、前記積層リング(12)の内周面と接触するサドル面(152s)と、前記サドル面(152s)の幅方向における両側から積層リング(12)の径方向に延出された一対のピラー部(151)と、それぞれ前記ピラー部(151)の遊端部から前記サドル面(152s)の幅方向に突出して互いに対向する一対のフック部(153)とを有し、前記積層リング(12)に沿って環状に配列される複数のエレメント(15)と、前記積層リング(12)の最外層リング材(11o)の径方向外側、かつ前記複数のエレメント(15)の前記フック部(153)の径方向内側に配置され、前記一対のフック部(153)の前記幅方向における間隔よりも長い幅を有するリテーナリング(17)とを備え、前記リテーナリング(17)の内周長が、前記無段変速機(1)の作動中に前記積層リング(12)に張力が作用するときの前記最外層リング材(11o)の外周長よりも長くなるように定められたものである。
 このような伝動ベルトでは、無段変速機の作動中に積層リングに張力が作用して当該積層リングの伸びを生じた際に、積層リングとリテーナリングとの間にクリアランスが形成されることになる。これにより、無段変速機の作動中、積層リングとリテーナリングとの間の当該積層リングの周方向における少なくとも一部にクリアランスを確保して、リテーナリングに張力が実質的に作用しないようにすることが可能となる。従って、リテーナリングの剛性を必要以上に高くすることなく、リテーナリングに伸びを生じさせないようにすることができる。この結果、複数のエレメントに対するリテーナリングの組付性を確保しつつ、リテーナリングの耐久性を向上させることが可能となる。
 また、前記リテーナリング(17)の内周長は、前記無段変速機(1)の最大変速比状態で前記プライマリプーリ(3)に伝達されるトルクが最大となるときの前記最外層リング材(11o)の外周長よりも長くなるように定められてもよい。
 更に、前記リテーナリング(17)の外周長は、該リテーナリング(17)の外周面が前記複数のエレメント(15)の前記フック部(153)の内周面に当接するように定められてもよい。これにより、プライマリプーリに伝達されるトルクが増加するのに伴って各エレメントが径方向外側に移動したときに、リテーナリングの外周面とフック部の内周面とのクリアランスをより小さくすることが可能となる。この結果、積層リングの外周面と各エレメントのフック部の内周面とのクリアランスが大きくなるのを抑えることができるので、エレメントの挙動の悪化(不安定になること)を抑制することが可能となる。
 また、前記フック部(153)の内周面と、前記エレメント(15)の前記フック部(153)の前記内周面と対向する部分との距離は、前記フック部(153)の内周面と、前記最外層リング材(11o)の外周面との距離よりも長くてもよい。これにより、無段変速機の作動中にリテーナリングがエレメントと接触しないようにして、プライマリプーリやセカンダリプーリからエレメントに狭圧力が作用した際に当該エレメントからリテーナリングに応力が加えられてしまうのを抑制することができる。この結果、リテーナリング17の耐久性をより向上させることが可能となる。
 そして、本開示の発明は上記実施形態に何ら限定されるものではなく、本開示の外延の範囲内において様々な変更をなし得ることはいうまでもない。更に、上記実施形態は、あくまで発明の概要の欄に記載された発明の具体的な一形態に過ぎず、発明の概要の欄に記載された発明の要素を限定するものではない。
 本開示の発明は、伝動ベルトや無段変速機の製造産業等において利用可能である。

Claims (5)

  1.  無段変速機のプライマリプーリおよびセカンダリプーリに巻き掛けられる伝動ベルトにおいて、
     厚み方向に積層された複数のリング材を含む積層リングと、
     前記積層リングの内周面と接触するサドル面と、前記サドル面の幅方向における両側から前記積層リングの径方向に延出された一対のピラー部と、それぞれ前記ピラー部の遊端部から前記サドル面の幅方向に突出して互いに対向する一対のフック部とを有し、前記積層リングに沿って環状に配列される複数のエレメントと、
     前記積層リングの最外層リング材の径方向外側、かつ前記複数のエレメントの前記フック部の径方向内側に配置され、前記一対のフック部の前記幅方向における間隔よりも長い幅を有するリテーナリングとを備え、
     前記リテーナリングの内周長と前記最外層リング材の外周長との周長差は、互いに重なり合う2つの前記リング材における内側の前記リング材の外周長と外側の前記リング材の内周長との周長差よりも長い伝動ベルト。
  2.  無段変速機のプライマリプーリおよびセカンダリプーリに巻き掛けられる伝動ベルトにおいて、
     厚み方向に積層された複数のリング材を含む積層リングと、
     前記積層リングの内周面と接触するサドル面と、前記サドル面の幅方向における両側から前記積層リングの径方向に延出された一対のピラー部と、それぞれ前記ピラー部の遊端部から前記サドル面の幅方向に突出して互いに対向する一対のフック部とを有し、前記積層リングに沿って環状に配列される複数のエレメントと、
     前記積層リングの最外層リング材の径方向外側、かつ前記複数のエレメントの前記フック部の径方向内側に配置され、前記一対のフック部の前記幅方向における間隔よりも長い幅を有するリテーナリングとを備え、
     前記リテーナリングの内周長は、前記無段変速機の作動中に前記積層リングに張力が作用するときの前記最外層リング材の外周長よりも長くなるように定められている伝動ベルト。
  3.  請求項2に記載の伝動ベルトにおいて、
     前記リテーナリングの内周長は、前記無段変速機の最大変速比状態で前記プライマリプーリに伝達されるトルクが最大となるときの前記最外層リング材の外周長よりも長くなるように定められている伝動ベルト。
  4.  請求項1から3の何れか一項に記載の伝動ベルトにおいて、
     前記リテーナリングの外周長は、該リテーナリングの外周面が前記複数のエレメントの前記フック部の内周面に当接するように定められている伝動ベルト。
  5.  請求項1から4の何れか一項に記載の伝動ベルトにおいて、
     前記フック部の内周面と、前記エレメントの前記フック部の前記内周面と対向する部分との距離は、前記フック部の内周面と、前記最外層リング材の外周面との径方向における最短距離よりも長い伝動ベルト。
