Definitions
- the present invention relates to an improved technique for an automatic traveling lawn mower.
- the automatic traveling lawn mower known from Patent Document 1 has a traveling frame having traveling wheels, and a movable cover that covers the upper and side portions of the traveling frame.
- the movable cover is held by a plurality of holding devices so as to be displaceable in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction with respect to the traveling frame.
- a displacement amount with respect to the traveling frame is detected by a displacement amount detection device. This displacement amount detection device is separated from the plurality of holding devices and is independent.
- Each of the plurality of holding devices includes a storage chamber, a vertical shaft, a buffer, and a compression coil spring.
- the storage chamber is formed in the traveling frame.
- the vertical axis extends in the vertical direction with respect to the traveling frame, and is stored in the storage chamber so as to be vertically slidable.
- the upper end of the vertical axis is exposed from the storage chamber.
- the buffer is a rubber product having a lower end fixed to the upper end of the vertical axis and an upper end fixed to the lower end surface of the movable cover.
- the intermediate portion of the buffer in the height direction can be elastically deformed in the horizontal direction.
- the compression coil spring urges the vertical shaft downward to pull the movable cover toward the upper surface of the traveling frame via the buffer.
- the buffer is elastically deformed in the horizontal direction when the side surface of the movable cover hits the obstacle while the automatic lawn mower is traveling. As a result, the movable cover is displaced in the horizontal direction.
- the displacement amount detection device detects the displacement amount of the movable cover.
- the buffer deformation tolerance is large and that the deformation resistance of the buffer with respect to the load in the horizontal direction is constant.
- the buffer is merely a rubber product, the allowable amount of deformation that can be elastically deformed in the horizontal direction is small.
- the following points need to be taken into consideration when improving the horizontal displacement of the movable cover relative to the traveling frame so that it can be set to a large value. That is, when the automatic travel lawn mower travels, travel vibration is transmitted from the road surface to the travel frame via the travel wheels. If the movable cover and a portion that holds the movable cover come into contact with each other due to the traveling vibration, noise may be generated.
- the movable cover that covers the upper and side portions of the traveling frame having the traveling wheels is held by the plurality of holding devices so as to be displaceable in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction with respect to the traveling frame.
- a traveling lawn mower is provided.
- Each of the plurality of holding devices is formed of a single rod-like member whose axis extends in the vertical direction with respect to the traveling frame, and a holding shaft that exposes an upper half portion upward from the traveling frame, and the holding shaft.
- the storage part formed in the travel frame and the lower half part stored in the storage part can be stored in the lower half part of the shaft in a direction substantially perpendicular to the axis of the holding shaft.
- a shaft holding part that holds the slide slidably.
- the shaft holding portion includes a slider provided in the lower half portion and a guide portion that guides the slider in a direction orthogonal to the axis of the holding shaft.
- the movable cover has a through hole that can vertically penetrate the upper half of the holding shaft. The size of the through hole is such that the movable cover can be displaced substantially vertically only with respect to the upper half portion.
- the upper half portion extends above the movable cover in a state of passing through the through hole, and has a spring receiving portion that receives one end of the compression coil spring at the upper end or in the vicinity of the upper end.
- the compression coil spring is interposed between the spring receiving portion and the upper wall of the movable cover.
- At least one of the plurality of holding devices includes an axial displacement amount detection device capable of detecting a horizontal displacement amount of a lower half portion of the holding shaft with respect to the traveling frame.
- the shaft holding portion has a slide structure including a slider provided in the lower half portion of the holding shaft and a guide portion that guides the slider in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the holding shaft. is there. Since the shaft holding portion is a slide structure, the amount of displacement by which the lower half of the holding shaft is displaced in the horizontal direction can be set large. For this reason, the displacement amount by which the movable cover is displaced only in the horizontal direction with respect to the traveling frame can be set large. Moreover, the slide resistance of the shaft holding portion is substantially constant regardless of the magnitude of the displacement amount of the movable cover. Therefore, the displacement amount of the movable cover can be accurately detected by the shaft displacement amount detection device.
- the shaft holder is a horizontal slide structure
- the height of the shaft holder can be small. That is, the shaft holding part can be made thin. Accordingly, the height of the automatic lawn mower can be suppressed.
- the holding shaft can be configured by a single bar-shaped member. For this reason, a holding shaft can be made into a simple structure.
- the upper half of the holding shaft has a spring receiving portion at the upper end or near the upper end.
- the compression coil spring is interposed between the spring receiving portion and the upper wall of the movable cover.
- the compression coil spring urges the movable cover toward the upper surface of the traveling frame.
- the movable cover is pressed against the upper surface of the traveling frame by the urging force of the compression coil spring.
- the holding shaft is urged by a compression coil spring in a direction away from the upper surface of the traveling frame. For this reason, the upper surface of the slider is pressed against the upper guide portion by the urging force of the compression coil spring.
- the present invention can achieve the following two things simultaneously.
- the generation of both the collision noise of the movable cover with respect to the upper surface of the traveling frame and the collision noise of the slider with respect to the guide portion can be suppressed as much as possible only by the compression coil spring.
- a single compression coil spring is interposed between the upper end of the upper half of the holding shaft or in the vicinity of the upper end and the upper wall of the movable cover in order to suppress the occurrence of collision noise.
- the spring receiving portion is bolted to the upper end surface of the upper half of the holding shaft. For this reason, the compression coil spring with respect to the upper half part is assembled and removed.
- an elastic member is interposed between the upper surface of the traveling frame and the lower surface of the movable cover.
- This elastic member consists of an annular flat plate located around the holding shaft. For this reason, when the movable cover once lifts against the urging force of the compression coil spring due to vertical vibration and then falls, the elastic member becomes a cushioning material for receiving the movable cover. Therefore, it is possible to suppress a collision sound that the movable cover hits the upper surface of the traveling frame.
- the lower surface of the elastic member is indirectly overlapped with the upper surface of the traveling frame via a flat plate washer penetrating the holding shaft.
- the washer can slide on the upper surface of the traveling frame.
- the frictional resistance between the flat washer and the upper surface of the traveling frame is smaller than the frictional resistance between the elastic member and the upper surface of the traveling frame.
- a plurality of ribs arranged radially in plan view around the holding shaft are formed on the upper surface of the traveling frame. Therefore, the slide resistance of the washer with respect to the upper surface of the traveling frame is small.
- the holding shaft can be displaced more smoothly in the horizontal direction.
- the movable cover has a bulging portion located around the holding shaft.
- the bulging portion bulges from the lower surface of the movable cover toward the upper surface of the elastic member, and is formed in a substantially cup shape having a flat bottom plate that can contact the upper surface of the elastic member.
- the through hole of the movable cover is located in the bottom plate. For this reason, only the bottom plate of the bulging part in the movable cover can contact the upper surface of the elastic member. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the lower surface of the movable cover that has been vibrated vertically from coming into direct contact with the upper surface of the traveling frame.
- the bottom plate of the bulging portion receives a lower end surface of the compression coil spring.
- the compression coil spring can urge the upper surface of the elastic member more reliably and efficiently through the bottom plate of the bulging portion.
- the automatic traveling lawn mower further includes a decorative cover that covers the movable cover.
- the decorative cover is detachably attached to the movable cover, and covers the upper half of the holding shaft and the compression coil spring. For this reason, the compression coil spring is not visible from the outside. The appearance of the automatic lawn mower can be improved.
- the horizontal displacement of the movable cover with respect to the traveling frame can be set large, and noise during traveling of the automatic traveling lawn mower can be suppressed.
- FIG. 2 is a plan view of a configuration in which a movable cover and a decorative cover are removed from the automatic traveling lawn mower shown in FIG. 1. It is the figure which expanded the 1st holding

- the amount of displacement of the movable cover 13 in the horizontal direction can be detected by the magnetic sensor 92 provided in the traveling frame 11. Since the axial displacement amount detection device 90 is incorporated in the first holding device 20A, the configuration of the lawn mower 10 is simpler than the configuration in which the axial displacement amount detection device 90 is separated from the first holding device 20A and independent. It is.
- the shaft holding portion 50 includes a slider 51 provided in the lower half portion 32 of the holding shaft 30 and a guide portion 52 that guides the slider 51 in a direction orthogonal to the axis 31 of the holding shaft 30. It is a slide structure. Since the shaft holding portion 50 has a slide structure, the amount of displacement by which the lower half portion 32 of the holding shaft 30 is displaced in the horizontal direction can be set large. For this reason, the displacement amount by which the movable cover 13 is displaced only in the horizontal direction with respect to the traveling frame 11 can be set large. In addition, the slide resistance of the shaft holder 50 is substantially constant regardless of the amount of displacement of the movable cover 13. Therefore, the displacement amount of the movable cover 13 can be accurately detected by the shaft displacement amount detection device 90.
- the shaft holding part 50 is a slide structure in the horizontal direction, the dimension of the shaft holding part 50 in the height direction can be small. That is, the shaft holding part 50 can be made thin. Accordingly, the height of the lawn mower 10 can be suppressed.
- the holding shaft 30 can be configured by a single rod-shaped member. For this reason, the holding shaft 30 can be configured simply.
- the upper half portion 33 of the holding shaft 30 has a spring receiving portion 82 at the upper end or in the vicinity of the upper end.
- the compression coil spring 81 is interposed between the spring receiving portion 82 and the upper wall 72 of the movable cover 13. As a result, the compression coil spring 81 urges the movable cover 13 toward the upper surface 43 b of the traveling frame 11. The movable cover 13 is pressed against the upper surface 43 b of the traveling frame 11 by the urging force of the compression coil spring 81. Further, the holding shaft 30 is urged by a compression coil spring 81 in a direction away from the upper surface 43 b of the traveling frame 11. For this reason, the upper surface 51 a of the slider 51 is pressed against the upper guide portion 53 by the urging force of the compression coil spring 81.
- the following two things can be achieved simultaneously.
- a single spring is provided between the spring receiving portion 82 provided at the upper end of the upper half portion 33 of the holding shaft 30 or in the vicinity of the upper end and the upper wall 72 of the movable cover 13. A simple configuration with only the compression coil spring 81 interposed is sufficient.
- the lawn mower 10 includes a vertical detection unit 100 that detects the amount of displacement of the movable cover 13 in the vertical direction.
- the vertical detection unit 100 detects the lifting operation and issues a detection signal.
- the control unit 95 stops the left and right traveling electric motors 17 (see FIG. 1) and the cutter blade electric motor 18 (see FIG. 1) according to the detection signal of the up / down detection unit 100. As a result, the lawn mower 10 stops traveling and the cutter blade 12 stops rotating.
- the automatic traveling lawn mower 10 of the present invention is suitable for use in an unmanned traveling lawn mower that can travel independently.
