- the type and thickness of the base film are not particularly limited and can be applied to various films.
- this invention can perform film-forming not only on a base film but on various film-forming objects. However, it is most effective when applied to a film-like film formation target.

Abstract
Description
すなわち、真空中で基材フィルム上に有機化合物のモノマーの膜を均一な膜厚で形成することは困難で、特に有機化合物モノマーの蒸気を一定の割合で発生させて成膜レートを安定させることは非常に困難である。
本発明では、前記気化部及び前記蒸気放出部をそれぞれ全体的に加熱する加熱手段を有する場合にも効果的である。
本発明では、前記蒸発器に液体状の有機化合物モノマーを供給するモノマー供給管と、当該モノマー供給管を冷却する冷却手段を有する場合にも効果的である。
本発明では、前記液体状の有機化合物モノマーを霧状にして前記蒸発器内に導入するためのノズル部が前記モノマー供給管の先端部に設けられ、当該ノズル部の先端部が、前記蒸発器の内壁面に対して当該蒸発器の内方に突出しないように配置構成されている場合にも効果的である。
一方、本発明は、真空槽と、前記真空槽内に設けられた上記いずれかの蒸気放出装置とを有し、前記真空槽内において搬送される基材フィルムに対して前記蒸気放出装置の蒸気放出部から有機化合物モノマーの蒸気を吹き付けるように構成されている成膜装置である。
本発明では、前記蒸気放出装置の気化部が、前記真空槽の外側に設けられている場合にも効果的である。
図1は、本発明に係る蒸気放出装置を用いた成膜装置の実施の形態の全体構成図、図2は、本発明に係る蒸気放出装置の実施の形態の内部構成図である。
気化部21は、例えばステンレス等の金属材料からなる中空の本体部21aを有し、さらに、気化部21の真空槽2に対して反対側の端部に、メンテナンス用の開閉自在の扉部21bを設けて構成されている。
加熱手段23は、例えばジャケット状のもので、その内部に熱媒体が循環するように構成されたものを好適に用いることができる。
なお、加熱手段23により気化部21を加熱する温度としては、有機化合物膜を形成するために使用する有機化合物モノマーの材質によって選択するものとする。
蒸発器40の例えば上部には、液体状の有機化合物モノマーを霧(ミスト)状にして蒸発器40内に導入するための後述するモノマー導入部41が設けられ、このモノマー導入部41は、上述したモノマー供給管32に接続されている。
冷却手段33は、例えばジャケット状のもので、その内部に冷却媒体が循環するように構成されたものを好適に用いることができる。
この冷却手段33は、モノマー供給管32内における有機化合物モノマーの熱による重合反応を確実に防止するためのもので、有機化合物モノマーを例えば25℃程度の常温に冷却する機能を有している。
ここで、蒸発器用ヒーター42は、例えば抵抗加熱型のものを用いることができ、蒸発器40の外表面に全面的に設けられている。
また、蒸発器40の例えば上部には、蒸発器40内において加熱され蒸発された有機化合物モノマーの蒸気を気化部21内に導出するための導出口43が設けられている。
図3に示すように、本実施の形態のモノマー導入部41においては、蒸発器40内に有機化合物モノマーを導入するためのモノマー導入口44が蒸発器40の上部の壁部を貫通するように設けられている。
このノズル部35は、例えば熱変形や摩耗の小さいセラミックス等の材料からなるもので、その先端部が、蒸発器40の内壁面40aに対して蒸発器40の内方側に突出しないように配置構成されている。
すなわち、本実施の形態のノズル部35は、冷却手段33が設けられたモノマー供給管32の先端部に設けられており、蒸発器40の内壁面40aに比べて低温となっている。このため、ノズル部35が蒸発器40の内壁面40aよりも蒸発器40の内方側に突出した状態になると、蒸発器40内において加熱され蒸発された有機化合物モノマーの蒸気に、蒸発器40の内壁面40aより低温のノズル部35が曝され、有機化合物モノマーの蒸気が凝縮するおそれがある。
上述したように円筒形状に形成された蒸気放出部22は、気化部21から送られた有機化合物モノマーを放出するもので、図4(a)(b)に示すように、円筒の長手方向に沿って直線状に形成された放出部24を有し、この放出部24に直線スリット状の蒸気放出口25が設けられている。
この蒸気放出部用ヒーター26は、例えば抵抗加熱型のものを用いることができ、蒸気放出部22の外面に全面的に設けられている。
ここで、蒸気放出部用ヒーター26により蒸気放出部22を加熱する温度は、有機化合物膜を形成するために使用する有機化合物モノマーの材質によって選択するものである。
さらに、冷却手段33を動作させてモノマー供給管32を例えば25℃程度の常温に冷却する。
この状態で、モノマー供給源30からモノマー供給管32を介して所定量の液体状の有機化合物モノマーを気化部21内の蒸発器40のモノマー導入部41に供給する。
その後、図1に示す巻取ローラ4bによって基材フィルム10を巻き取る。
例えば蒸気放出装置の気化部、蒸気放出部、蒸発器並びにノズル部の形状については、上記実施の形態のものには限られず、種々の形状のものを用いることができる。
さらに、基材フィルムの種類、厚さ等についても、特に限定されることはなく、種々のフィルムに適用することができる。なお、本発明は基材フィルムのみならず、種々の成膜対象物上に成膜を行うことができる。ただし、フィルム状の成膜対象物に適用した場合に最も有効となるものである。

Claims (6)
- 真空中で有機化合物モノマーの蒸気を放出する蒸気放出装置であって、
液体状の有機化合物モノマーを気化する気化部と、
前記気化部に連通され、前記気化部において気化された有機化合物モノマーの蒸気を放出する蒸気放出部とを有し、
前記気化部内に中空の蒸発器が設けられ、当該蒸発器は、前記液体状の有機化合物モノマーを霧状にして導入し、当該霧状の有機化合物モノマーを加熱し蒸発させて当該有機化合物モノマーの蒸気を前記気化部内に導出するように構成されている蒸気放出装置。 - 前記気化部及び前記蒸気放出部をそれぞれ全体的に加熱する加熱手段を有する請求項1記載の蒸気放出装置。
- 前記蒸発器に液体状の有機化合物モノマーを供給するモノマー供給管と、当該モノマー供給管を冷却する冷却手段を有する請求項1又は2のいずれか1項記載の蒸気放出装置。
- 前記液体状の有機化合物モノマーを霧状にして前記蒸発器内に導入するためのノズル部が前記モノマー供給管の先端部に設けられ、当該ノズル部の先端部が、前記蒸発器の内壁面に対して当該蒸発器の内方に突出しないように配置構成されている請求項3記載の蒸気放出装置。
- 真空槽と、
前記真空槽内に設けられ、真空中で有機化合物モノマーの蒸気を放出する蒸気放出装置とを有し、
前記蒸気放出装置は、液体状の有機化合物モノマーを気化する気化部と、前記気化部に連通され、前記気化部において気化された有機化合物モノマーの蒸気を放出する蒸気放出部とを有し、前記気化部内に中空の蒸発器が設けられ、当該蒸発器は、前記液体状の有機化合物モノマーを霧状にして導入し、当該霧状の有機化合物モノマーを加熱し蒸発させて当該有機化合物モノマーの蒸気を前記気化部内に導出するように構成され、
前記真空槽内において搬送される基材フィルムに対して前記蒸気放出装置の蒸気放出部から有機化合物モノマーの蒸気を吹き付けるように構成されている成膜装置。 - 前記蒸気放出装置の気化部が、前記真空槽の外側に設けられている請求項5記載の成膜装置。
