本発明におけるアンダーウォーターペレタイジング方式とは、例えば特開2011-245710号公報に開示されているように、押出機から溶融押出された粘着性樹脂を水中カット式造粒機でペレットにカットする粘着性樹脂ペレットの製造方法である。すなわち、アンダーウォーターペレタイジング方式は、粘着性樹脂を溶融して水中に押出する押出工程と、押出工程後に水中に押出した粘着性樹脂を水中で切断して粘着性樹脂ペレットとする切断工程と、を備える粘着性樹脂ペレットの製造方法である。本発明は、この水にブロッキング防止剤を添加する添加工程を備え、ブロッキング防止剤がポリオレフィン系微粒子であることを特徴とする。
<粘着性樹脂(粘着剤)>
本発明の粘着性樹脂とは、常温において軟質で粘着性を有する樹脂である限り、特に限定されない。粘着性のない樹脂に粘着付与樹脂や軟化剤等の粘着付与成分を入れて、粘着性樹脂にしてもよい。本発明の粘着性樹脂ペレットの製造方法及び微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレットに用いる粘着性樹脂は、溶融押出可能なものであれば、特に限定されないが、ポリオレフィン系共重合体からなる粘着性樹脂又はスチレン系エラストマーの粘着性樹脂が好ましく、非晶質ポリオレフィン系粘着性樹脂又は水素添加スチレン系エラストマーの粘着性樹脂がより好ましい。ポリオレフィン系共重合体からなる粘着性樹脂としては、エチレンプロピレンラバー(EPR)、エチレンブタジエンラバー (EBM)、エチレン酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA)、オレフィン結晶-エチレン/ブチレン-オレフィン結晶・ブロック共重合体(CEBC)、非晶質ポリプロピレンなどを用いてもよい。スチレン系エラストマーとしては、スチレン-イソプレン-スチレン・ブロック共重合体(SIS)、スチレン-エチレン/プロピレン-スチレン・ブロック共重合体(SEPS)、スチレン-イソブチレン-スチレン・ブロック共重合体(SIBS)、スチレン-エチレン/ブチレン-スチレン・ブロック共重合体(SEBS)、スチレンブタジエンラバー(SBR)、水添スチレンブタジエンラバー(HSBR)などを用いてもよい。またポリオレフィン系粘着性樹脂とスチレン系エラストマーの粘着性樹脂を混合して用いてもよい。さらに、粘着性樹脂には公知の粘着付与樹脂、軟化剤、老化防止剤、充填剤等を適宜添加してもよい。
粘着シートサンプルの粘着力は、JIS Z0237 2000に準拠する方法で、180°ピール力の測定を行う。BASUS板に25mm幅の粘着シートサンプルを貼付し、1kgの圧着ローラーで1往復圧着後、5分放置し、その後0.3m/分の引張り速度で180°ピール力の測定を行う。粘着性樹脂の粘着力が5.00N/25mm以上である、粘着テープに用いるような高い粘着性を持つ粘着性樹脂においても、本発明によれば水中でブロッキング防止剤が均等に付着することになるから、ブロッキングを防止することができる。また、本発明に係る粘着性樹脂の粘着力は、粘着シートサンプルの粘着力が、被着体であるBASUS板に対して15.00N/25mm未満である。15.00N/25mm以上の場合、非被覆面同士でブロッキングが生じやすくなることから、本発明に係る粘着性樹脂ペレットの製造方法によってもブロッキング性が悪くなる。粘着シートサンプルの粘着力は、粘着性樹脂ペレットのブロッキングを防止するために、被着体であるBASUS板に対して1.00~10.00N/25mmであることが好ましい。1.00~9.00N/25mmであることがより好ましく、1.00~8.00N/25mmであることが更に好ましい。
粘着シートサンプルのプローブタックは、ASTM D2979に準拠する方法で、NSプローブタックテスター(ニチバン(株)社製)を用いて、円柱状接触子(プローブ)の直径5mm、押圧100gf/cm2、接触時間;1秒、引剥速度;10mm/secの条件下で試験する。非被覆面同士でブロッキングが生じやすくなることから、粘着シートサンプルのプローブタック値が、0.5~7.5N/5mmΦであることが好ましい。プローブタック値は、0.5~6.5N/5mmΦであることがより好ましく、0.5~6.0N/5mmΦであることが更に好ましい。
粘着シートサンプルの保持力は、JIS Z0237 2000に準拠する方法で測定を行う。ガラス板に貼付面積12mm×20mmになるように粘着シートサンプルを貼付し、2kgの圧着ローラーで1往復圧着後、20分放置し、1kgの荷重をかけて1時間後のズレを測定する。粘着シートサンプルの保持力(ずれ易さ)は、粘着性樹脂の変形しやすさを現す。粘着性樹脂が変形しやすい場合、この樹脂を用いて製造された粘着性樹脂ペレットも変形しやすくなる。このため、微粒子で被覆できていても、加重や経時変化によって、非被覆面が生じ、非被覆面積が大きくなるから、ブロッキングが発生しやすくなる。従って、粘着シートサンプルの保持力が、0.5mm以下であることが好ましく、0.3mm以下であることがより好ましく、0.1mm以下であることが更に好ましい。
本発明のブロッキング防止剤として、ポリオレフィン系微粒子を用いる。本発明に用いるポリオレフィン系微粒子は、特に限定されないが、ポリプロピレン微粒子やポリエチレン微粒子が好ましく、特にポリプロピレン微粒子が好ましい。また、熱可塑性のポリオレフィン系微粒子が好ましい。
本発明に係る粘着性樹脂ペレットの製造方法は、水にブロッキング防止剤を添加する添加工程と、粘着性樹脂を溶融して前記水中に押出する押出工程と、押出工程後に、水中に押出した前記粘着性樹脂を切断して粘着性樹脂ペレットとする切断工程と、を備え、前記ブロッキング防止剤がポリオレフィン系微粒子であることを特徴とする。以下、各工程を説明する。
添加工程は、水にブロッキング防止剤としてポリオレフィン系微粒子を添加する工程である。添加方法としては、公知の方法を用いることができ、限定されない。この水は、循環水であることが好ましい。
押出工程は、前述のように、粘着性樹脂を溶融して水中に押出する工程である。溶融方法、押出方法は公知の方法を用いることができ、限定されない。例えば、粘着性樹脂を二軸押出機内で溶融混練し、粘着性樹脂を二軸押出機から水中に溶融押出しする方法がある。
切断工程は、前述のように、押出工程後に、水中に溶融押出した粘着性樹脂を切断して粘着性樹脂ペレットとする工程である。切断方法は公知の方法を用いることができ、限定されない。例えば、水中カット造粒機を用いる方法がある。
本発明に係る粘着性樹脂ペレットの製造方法は、アンダーウォーターペレタイジング方式によって製造した粘着性樹脂ペレットを脱水・乾燥する脱水・乾燥工程、脱水・乾燥した後、後添加として、ブロッキング防止剤を付着する付着工程を備えていてもよい。また、脱水後、ブロッキング防止剤を付着した後に乾燥させても良い。
本発明に係る粘着性樹脂ペレットの製造方法は、製造した粘着性樹脂ペレットをブロッキング防止剤が付着していない粘着性樹脂ペレットを選別する選別工程を有していてもよい。選別には、公知の方法を用いることができ、限定されない。例えば、選別機を用いることができる。
本発明に係る粘着性樹脂ペレットの製造方法は、製造した粘着性樹脂ペレットを乾燥する乾燥工程を有していてもよい。乾燥には公知の方法を用いることができ、限定されない。乾燥温度は、20~80℃が好ましく、乾燥時間は0.1~24時間が好ましい。乾燥温度と乾燥時間は、粘着性樹脂ペレットがブロッキングしない範囲で調整する。
アンダーウォーターペレタイジングの際に粘着性樹脂ペレットに付着したポリオレフィン系微粒子と後添加で加えられたポリオレフィン系微粒子の合計の添加量(総添加量)は、粘着性樹脂ペレットの重量を基準として、0.1~5.0重量%であることが好ましく、より好ましくは0.5~3.5重量%であり、更に好ましくは0.5~3.0重量%である。総添加量をこの範囲にすることにより、ブロッキングを防止する粘着性樹脂ペレットを製造することができる。
本発明の製造方法によって、ブロッキング防止剤が付着した粘着性樹脂ペレットが製造される。すなわち、ポリオレフィン系微粒子である微粒子が表面に付着した微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレットが製造される。そして、ブロッキングを防止するために、粘着性樹脂ペレットの全表面が実質的に微粒子で覆われていることが好ましい。
微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレットの微粒子は、熱可塑性ポリオレフィン系微粒子である。微粒子の平均粒径については、粒径が大きいと、粘着性樹脂ペレットの被覆性が劣ることから、18μm未満であることが好ましく、15μm未満であることがより好ましく、12μm未満であることが更に好ましい。また、粒径が小さすぎると作業時に取り扱い難くなることから、1μm以上であることが好ましく、より好ましくは3μm以上であり、更に好ましくは5μm以上である。本発明にいう平均粒径は、数平均粒径であり、例えば、SEMを用いた観察によって測定することができる。
(ブロッキング性)
本発明の製造方法により製造された粘着性樹脂ペレット又は本発明の微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレット、25kgを800mm×900mmのビニール袋に入れて、縦620mm×横600mm×高さ230mmに箱詰めし、40℃1ヵ月後に当該粘着性樹脂ペレット同士のブロッキング状態を観察する。
本発明の製造方法により製造された粘着性樹脂ペレット又は本発明の微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレットを溶融して粘着シートを作成し、押出し状態、粘着特性(粘着力、プローブタック、保持力)及び被着体汚染性の評価・測定を行う。当該粘着シートは、粘着剤層の厚さ10μm、基材層(ポリプロピレン系)の厚さ40μmであり、粘着層と基材層とを樹脂溶融共押出しにて粘着シートサンプルを作成する。具体的には、本発明の製造方法により製造された粘着性樹脂ペレット又は本発明の微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレットを30mmφTダイ押出機を用いて、Tダイ温度230℃、フィルム引取り速度5m/minでMFR2g/10min(JIS K7210:1999における 230℃、2.16kg条件)のポリプロピレン樹脂、酸化チタンマスターバッチと酸化防止剤からなる基材層用樹脂とともに樹脂溶融共押出しにて製膜を行い、基材厚40μm、粘着層厚10μmの粘着シートサンプルを作成する。
本発明の製造方法により製造された粘着性樹脂ペレット又は本発明の微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレットの粘着シート作成時の押出し状態は、目視で粘着層を含む押し出された粘着シートサンプルの外観性状を確認する。
粘着シートサンプルの粘着力は、JIS Z0237 2000に準拠する方法で、180°ピール力の測定を行う。BASUS板に25mm幅の粘着シートサンプルを貼付し、1kgの圧着ローラーで1往復圧着後、5分放置し、その後0.3m/分の引張り速度で180°ピール力の測定を行う。
粘着シートサンプルのプローブタックは、ASTM D2979に準拠する方法で、NSプローブタックテスター(ニチバン(株)社製)を用いて、円柱状接触子(プローブ)の直径5mm、押圧100gf/cm2、接触時間;1秒、引剥速度;10mm/secの条件下で試験する。
粘着シートサンプルの保持力は、JIS Z0237 2000に準拠する方法で測定を行う。ガラス板に貼付面積12mm×20mmになるように粘着シートサンプルを貼付し、2kgの圧着ローラーで1往復圧着後、20分放置し、1kgの荷重をかけて1時間後のズレを測定する。
BASUS板に25mm幅の粘着シートサンプルを数箇所の気泡を入れて貼付し、80℃で24時間加熱後取り出して、室温に放置後、粘着シート剥離し、目視で汚染の有無を確認する。
<原料>
[粘着性樹脂(粘着剤)]
実施例及び比較例で用いた粘着剤は以下であり、以下の粘着剤はいずれもポリオレフィン系粘着剤とスチレン系エラストマーの粘着剤を混合したものである。以下の粘着剤から粘着シートを作成し、粘着力、プローブタック及び保持力の測定を行った。結果を以下に示す。粘着力、プローブタック及び保持力の測定は、前述のように、粘着剤層と基材層とを溶融共押出しにて粘着シートサンプルを作成して行った。以下の粘着剤を30mmφTダイ押出機を用いて、Tダイ温度230℃、フィルム引取り速度5m/minでMFR2g/10min(JIS K7210:1999における 230℃、2.16kg条件)のポリプロピレン樹脂、酸化チタンマスターバッチと酸化防止剤からなる基材層用樹脂とともに樹脂溶融共押出しにて製膜を行い、基材厚40μm、粘着層厚10μmの粘着シートを作製した。
・粘着剤A:粘着力5.10N/25mm、プローブタック1.36N/5mmφ、保持力0.1mm
・粘着剤B(弱粘着):粘着力1.47N/25mm、プローブタック2.45N/5mmφ、保持力0.1mm
・粘着剤C(強粘着):粘着力15.24N/25mm、プローブタック6.65N/5mmφ、保持力0.9mm
実施例及び比較例で用いた微粒子は以下である。
(ポリオレフィン系微粒子(PPパウダー))
・クラリアント社製セリダスト6050M(数平均粒径9μm)
・三洋化成社製のビスコール660-P(数平均粒径120μm)
(その他の微粒子)
・タルク:日本タルク社製ミクロエースK1(数平均粒径8μm)
・エルカ酸アミド:日本化成社製ダイヤミッドL-200(数平均粒径500μm)
ダイ穴5mmφから粘着剤を水中に溶融押出し、ダイに設置されたアンダーウォーターカットペレタイザーで裁断した。裁断されたペレットは表1に記載の条件で各微粒子を添加した循環水で搬送し、その後、遠心脱水機にて脱水した。さらに、追加で微粒子を後添加する場合は、脱水機から出てきたペレットにフィーダーで微粒子をまぶした後、微粒子が均一に付着するように混合する。その後、50℃にて2時間の乾燥を経て粘着性樹脂ペレットを作製した。
後述の各実施例・比較例に対し、前述の評価・測定方法により、粘着性樹脂ペレットのブロッキング性、押出し状態、並びに、粘着シートの粘着力、プローブタック、保持力及び被着体汚染性の評価・測定を行った。上記の粘着性樹脂ペレットを30mmφTダイ押出機を用いて、Tダイ温度230℃、フィルム引取り速度5m/minでMFR2g/10min(JIS K7210:1999における 230℃、2.16kg条件)のポリプロピレン樹脂、酸化チタンマスターバッチと酸化防止剤からなる基材層用樹脂とともに樹脂溶融共押出しにて製膜を行い、基材厚40μm、粘着層厚10μmの粘着シートを作製した。
実施例1~4、比較例1~5の製造方法・結果を以下及び表1に示す。
<実施例1>
粘着剤Aに対し、0.5wt%のポリオレフィン系微粒子(クラリアント社製セリダスト6050M)を循環水中で添加し、ペレットの脱水後、1.0wt%のポリオレフィン系微粒子をフィーダーで均一に後添加した。粘着ペレットのブロッキング性、押出し状態、全て良好であった。更に、前述のように、この粘着性樹脂ペレットを用いて粘着シート(総厚50μm(粘着層厚10μm))を作成し、粘着力、プローブタック及び保持力(以下、粘着特性という。)、並びに、被着体汚染性の評価を行った。粘着シートの粘着特性と被着体汚染性に問題は無かった。
粘着剤Aに対し、0.5wt%のポリオレフィン系微粒子(クラリアント社製セリダスト6050M、数平均粒径9μm)を循環水中で添加し、粘着性樹脂ペレットの脱水後、0.5wt%のポリオレフィン系微粒子をフィーダーで均一に後添加した。粘着性樹脂ペレットのブロッキング性、押出し状態全て良好であった。更に、前述のように、この粘着性樹脂ペレットを用いて粘着シート(総厚50μm(粘着層厚10μm))を作成し、粘着特性と被着体汚染性の評価を行った。粘着シートの粘着特性と被着体汚染性に問題は無かった。
粘着剤Aに対し、0.5wt%のポリオレフィン系微粒子(クラリアント社製セリダスト6050M)を循環水中で添加し、粘着性樹脂ペレットの脱水後、3.0wt%のポリオレフィン系微粒子をフィーダーで均一に後添加した。粘着性樹脂ペレットのブロッキング性、押出し状態、全て良好であった。更に、前述のように、この粘着性樹脂ペレットを用いて粘着シート(総厚50μm(粘着層厚10μm))を作成し、粘着特性と被着体汚染性の評価を行った。粘着シートの粘着特性と被着体汚染性に問題は無かった。
粘着剤B(弱粘着)に対し、0.5wt%のポリオレフィン系微粒子(クラリアント社製セリダスト6050M)を循環水中で添加した。ポリオレフィン系微粒子の後添加は行わなかった。粘着性樹脂ペレットのブロッキング性、押出し状態全て良好であった。更に、前述のように、この粘着性樹脂ペレットを用いて粘着シート(総厚50μm(粘着層厚10μm))を作成し、粘着特性と被着体汚染性の評価を行った。粘着シートの粘着特性と被着体汚染性に問題は無かった。
ポリオレフィン系微粒子として三洋化成社製のビスコール660-P(数平均粒径120μm)を循環水中で添加した以外は実施例3に準じた。粘着性樹脂ペレットにブロッキングが発生した。
ポリオレフィン系微粒子の代わりにタルク(日本タルク社製ミクロエースK1、数平均粒径8μm)を用い、タルクの後添加量を5.0wt%に増やした以外は実施例2に準じた。ブロッキング性は良好だったが、押出しの際、目ヤニが発生した。
ポリオレフィン系微粒子の代わりにエルカ酸アミド(日本化成社製ダイヤミッドL-200)を用いた以外は実施例3に準じた。押出しの際スクリュー入り口で滑りが発生し、圧力がばらついた。また汚染が認められた。
粘着剤Aに対し、3.5wt%のポリオレフィン系微粒子(クラリアント社製セリダスト6050M)をフィーダーで均一に後添加した。循環水中でのポリオレフィン系微粒子の添加は行わなかった。脱水・乾燥工程で粘着ペレットがブロッキングを起こして互着してしまった。
粘着剤Aの代わりに、粘着剤C(強粘着)を用いた以外は実施例3に準じた。ペレットはブロッキング性が悪かった。また、ペレットの変形も認められた。
Claims (11)
- 水にブロッキング防止剤を添加する添加工程と、
粘着性樹脂を溶融して前記水中に押出する押出工程と、
前記押出工程後に、水中に押出した前記粘着性樹脂を切断して粘着性樹脂ペレットとする切断工程と、を備え、
前記ブロッキング防止剤がポリオレフィン系微粒子であり、前記ポリオレフィン系微粒子の平均粒径が1μm以上18μm未満であり、
前記粘着性樹脂の粘着力が15.00N/25mm未満であることを特徴とする粘着性樹脂ペレットの製造方法。 - 前記粘着性樹脂の保持力が0.5mm以下であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の粘着性樹脂ペレットの製造方法。
- 前記粘着性樹脂ペレットの製造方法が、前記切断工程後に、前記粘着性樹脂ペレットを脱水・乾燥する脱水・乾燥工程と、
前記脱水・乾燥工程後、脱水・乾燥した前記粘着性樹脂ペレットに、前記ブロッキング防止剤を付着する付着工程と、を備えることを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載の粘着性樹脂ペレットの製造方法。 - 前記ポリオレフィン系微粒子が前記粘着性樹脂と相溶性を有することを特徴とする、請求項1~3のいずれかに記載の粘着性樹脂ペレットの製造方法。
- 前記付着工程後の前記ブロッキング防止剤が付着した前記粘着性樹脂ペレットの平均粒径が2~10mmであることを特徴とする、請求項1~4のいずれかに記載の粘着性樹脂ペレットの製造方法。
- 粘着性樹脂ペレットの表面に微粒子が付着した微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレットにおいて、
前記微粒子が熱可塑性のポリオレフィン系微粒子であり、且つ、前記微粒子の平均粒径が18μm未満であり、
前記粘着性樹脂ペレットが粘着性樹脂からなり、前記粘着性樹脂の粘着力が15.00N/25mm未満であることを特徴とする微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレット。 - 前記粘着性樹脂の保持力が0.5mm以下であることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレット。
- 前記微粒子の前記粘着性樹脂ペレットに対する平均付着量が、前記微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレットの重量を基礎として、0.1~5.0重量%であることを特徴とする、請求項6又は7に記載の微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレット。
- 前記微粒子が前記粘着性樹脂と相溶性を有することを特徴とする、請求項6~8のいずれかに記載の微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレット。
- 前記微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレットを溶融して基材上に10μmの厚さに形成した粘着シートの粘着力が、被着体であるBASUS板に対して1.00~15.00N/25mmであり、
前記粘着シートのプローブタック値が、0.5~7.5N/5mmΦであることを特徴とする、請求項6~9のいずれかに記載の微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレット。 - 前記微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレットの平均粒径が2~10mmであることを特徴とする、請求項6~10のいずれかに記載の微粒子付着粘着性樹脂ペレット。
