Definitions
- the present invention is a flux cored arc welded joint obtained by flux cored arc welding (FCAW) of high-strength steel for offshore structures, construction, bridges, shipbuilding, etc. and a flux cored arc for manufacturing the same. Relates to a welding wire.
- FCAW flux cored arc welding
- FCAW flux cored arc welding
- the welding structure obtained by performing such welding must first secure the stability, and for this purpose, securing the tensile strength and the impact toughness of the weld joint is important.
- the reduction of the amount of diffusible hydrogen in the welding material is very important in the flux cored arc welding to prevent the occurrence of low temperature cracks in the weld.
- the welded joint formed during welding is formed by melting some of the steel while the welding material is melted to form a molten pool, and then solidifying it to develop into a coarse columnar structure.
- the weld seam is formed by coarse grain boundary ferrite, Widmanstatten ferrite, martensite and martensite Au along the coarse austenite grain boundary.
- the mechanism of the microstructure of the tissue by the Ti-B-Ni composite addition is the effect of inhibiting the formation of pro-eutectoid ferrite by the toughening of matrix by Ni, and the austenite grain boundary segregation of solid solution B. Fine ferrite production in austenite grains through Ti, B, oxides and nitrides is possible.
- Patent Document 1 is a technique for defining the composition and the microstructure of the welded joint, containing 0.7 to 0.8% by weight of carbon, the microstructure of the weld metal portion is 10 to 20 bainite and martensite
- An ultra-high strength SAW welded joint of 950 MPa or more that is low in% and excellent in low temperature toughness containing 60% or more of acicular ferrite is disclosed.
- Patent Documents 2 and 3 relate to an ultra-high strength steel pipe having a seam welded portion having excellent low temperature crack resistance and a method of manufacturing the same, and excellent crack resistance by containing 1% or more of retained austenite in the seam welded metal portion. Although secured, the impact toughness of the weld metal part is somewhat poor.
- Patent document 4 specifies the components of the welding material, but since it does not directly control the microstructure, particle size, etc. of the welded joint, it is difficult to sufficiently obtain the toughness of the welded joint from such a welded material.
- the flux cored arc welding technique uses rutile flux cored wires, which are filled into the wire with a filling flux containing large amounts of crystallized water and bonded water that serve as a source of diffusible hydrogen during welding. It is manufactured by drawing the wire diameter to a size suitable for welding.
- rutile flux cored wires which are filled into the wire with a filling flux containing large amounts of crystallized water and bonded water that serve as a source of diffusible hydrogen during welding. It is manufactured by drawing the wire diameter to a size suitable for welding.
- the organic component of the lubricant adhered and remaining during the drawing process increases the diffusible hydrogen in the weld portion during welding.
- Patent Document 5 proposes a technique of heat-treating a tube-shaped wire at 600 to 800 ° C., but it is difficult to commercialize due to a decrease in production rate and an increase in heat treatment cost due to the high temperature heat treatment.
- Patent Document 6 provides an unheated flux cored wire for high strength steel of 490 Mpa or more containing an arc stabilizer, a slag forming agent: 0.5-4.5%, and a deoxidizer: 1.0-4.0% based on V: 0.05-0.25%.
- the present invention is characterized by the diffusion of hydrogen trapping and carbon fixation effect through the formation of VC by the addition of V, but the result of reducing hydrogen by V during welding is insignificant, and the total F of alkali and alkaline metal fluorine compounds As the content of 1.0-2.0% is high, it is difficult to secure a stable arc characteristics.
- Patent Literature 7 contains TiO 2: 4.0-8.0%, alkali fluoride (fluorine equivalent): 0.02-0.4% and PTFE (fluorine equivalent): 0.02-0.4% based on the total weight of the wire, The amount of fluorine conversion is controlled to 0.01% or less, and a technique is disclosed in which (fluorine amount conversion value of alkali metal fluoride +0.35) / (fluorine amount conversion value of PTFE) is controlled to 1 or more. Compared with PTFE, the specific gravity of the PTFE is low, making the wire filling and surface application difficult and the relatively high price, making it difficult to commercialize.

- One aspect of the present invention is to provide a welded joint having excellent impact toughness in a welded structure constructed by welding an ultra high strength steel having a tensile strength of 900 MPa or more.
- Another aspect of the present invention is a welding material capable of lowering the amount of diffusible hydrogen while obtaining a weld joint having excellent impact toughness in flux cored arc welding of an ultra high strength steel, that is, a flux cored arc welding wire. Is to provide.
- microstructures provide a high impact toughness flux cored arc welded joint with excellent impact toughness comprising an area fraction of at least 40% acicular ferrite and 40-50% of bainite and martensite.
- TiO 2 4.5-9.0%, one or two of SiO 2 and ZrO 2 : 0.2-2.0%, CaCO 3 : 0.1-1.0%, one or two or more of K, Na, Li-based alkali oxides: 0.10
- a high strength flux cored welding wire comprising alkali and alkaline earth metal fluorine compounds of ⁇ 1.5% and 0.025 to 0.5% of fluorine (F).
- the present invention it is possible to provide a flux cored arc welded joint having ultra high strength properties and at the same time excellent impact toughness.
- it is possible to manufacture the welding joint it is possible to provide a flux cored arc welding wire that can effectively reduce the amount of diffusible hydrogen.
- Figure 1 shows the results of observing the microstructure of Inventive Example 2 according to the present invention with an optical microscope.
- the present inventors carefully examined to provide a method for providing an ultra-high strength Flux cored arc welded joint having a high impact toughness of 900 MPa or more, and as a result, an optimum structure capable of securing a balance of ultra high strength and impact toughness In order to secure these fractions, it is newly established that the proper control of the composition of the weld metal and the range of carbon equivalent equations can ensure not only the impact toughness of the welded joint, but also ultra-high strength of 900 MPa or more. The present invention was completed based on the results.
- the present inventors have attempted to control the components that can effectively cause dehydrogenation in the flux cored arc welding wires as a result of an in-depth study to effectively reduce the diffusive hydrogen which is one of the causes of the low temperature cracks in the weld. .
- Ultra-high strength flux cored arc welded joint with excellent impact toughness which is an aspect of the present invention, in weight%, carbon (C): 0.01 to 0.06%, silicon (Si): 0.1 to 0.5%, manganese (Mn): 1.5 ⁇ 3.0%, Nickel (Ni): 2.5-3.5%, Molybdenum (Mo): 0.5-1.0%, Copper (Cu): 0.4-1.0%, Chromium (Cr): 0.4-1.0%, Titanium (Ti): 0.01 ⁇ 0.1%, Boron (B): 0.003 ⁇ 0.007%, Nitrogen (N): 0.001 ⁇ 0.006%, Phosphorus (P): 0.02% or less (excluding O), Sulfur (S): 0.01% or less (excluding O ), Oxygen (O): 0.03-0.07%, balance Fe and inevitable impurities.
- each component means weight%.
- Carbon (C) is an element which is advantageous for securing the strength of the weld metal and at the same time securing the hardenability. It is necessary to add C to 0.01% or more in order to obtain the above-mentioned effect. However, if the content of C exceeds 0.06%, there is a problem that low-temperature cracking is easily generated during welding and the impact toughness of the weld joint is greatly reduced, so the upper limit is preferably limited to 0.06%.
- Silicon (Si) is an element added for the deoxidation effect. If the content is less than 0.1%, the deoxidation effect in the weld metal is insufficient and the fluidity of the weld metal is reduced. Since there is a disadvantage of promoting the transformation of the site (MA constituent) to lower the impact toughness and affect the weld cracking susceptibility, it is preferable to limit the content of Si to 0.1 ⁇ 0.5% in the present invention.
- Manganese (Mn) is an essential element for improving deoxidation and strength, and precipitates in the form of MnS around TiO oxide to promote the formation of acicular ferrite, which is advantageous for improving toughness of Ti composite oxide.
- Mn forms a substituted solid solution in the matrix structure to strengthen the matrix to solidify the matrix to secure strength and toughness. In order to obtain such effects, it is necessary to add Mn to 1.5% or more. However, if it exceeds 3.0%, there is a problem that the toughness is lowered by creating a low-temperature transformation tissue, it is preferable to limit the upper limit to 3.0%.
- Nickel (Ni) is an essential element that improves the strength and toughness of the matrix by solid solution strengthening. In order to obtain the above effects, it is necessary to add Ni to 2.5% or more, but when excessively over 3.5%, it is not preferable because it greatly increases the hardenability and there is a possibility of high temperature cracking. Therefore, in the present invention, it is preferable to limit the content of Ni to 2.5 to 3.5%.
- Molybdenum (Mo) is an element that improves the known strength, and in order to obtain such an effect, it is necessary to add it to 0.5% or more, but when it exceeds 1.0%, the effect is saturated, and the weld hardenability greatly increases and martensite is increased. There is a problem of promoting the transformation of the welding to cause low-temperature cracking or lower the toughness. Therefore, in the present invention, it is preferable to limit the content of Mo to 0.5 ⁇ 1.0%.
- Copper (Cu) is an element which is advantageous in securing a strength and toughness due to solid solution at the base and having a solid solution strengthening effect. For this effect, it is preferable to add 0.4% or more of Cu. However, if the content exceeds 1.0%, there is a problem of decreasing the toughness by increasing the hardenability in the welded joint, it is preferable to limit the content of Cu to 0.4 ⁇ 1.0%.
- the sum thereof is preferably limited to less than 3.5%, because when the sum of the two elements exceeds 3.5%, the hardenability increases to adversely affect the toughness and weldability. .
- Chromium (Cr) is an element which is dissolved in a matrix to improve hardenability and improves strength, and is an advantageous element for securing strength and toughness.
- Cr Chromium
- Titanium (Ti) is an element that combines with oxygen (O) to not only form fine Ti oxide, but also forms fine TiN precipitate to promote formation of acicular ferrite, thereby improving strength and toughness.
- O oxygen
- TiN titanium
- Boron (B) is an element that improves quenchability, segregates at grain boundaries and serves to suppress transformation of grain boundary ferrite.
- the solid solution B serves to secure the hardenability to improve the strength of the welded joint and is diffused to the grain boundary to lower the energy of the grain boundary to suppress the transformation of the grain boundary ferrite and promote the transformation of the acicular ferrite.
- it is preferable to contain B or more than 0.003%, but when the content exceeds 0.007%, the effect is saturated and the weld hardenability is greatly increased, which promotes low temperature transformation phase, thereby generating low temperature welding crack and toughness. There is a problem of lowering. Therefore, the content of B is preferably limited to 0.003 ⁇ 0.007%.
- Nitrogen (N) is an indispensable element for forming TiN and VN precipitates, and the amount of fine TiN and VN precipitates increases as the amount of Ni increases.
- the content is preferably set to 0.001% or more.
- the content of N is preferably limited to 0.001 to 0.006%.
- Phosphorus (P) is an impurity that promotes high temperature cracking and is preferably managed as low as possible, and its upper limit is preferably limited to 0.02% or less.
- S acts as an element to precipitate MnS composite oxide by combining with Mn, but when the content exceeds 0.01%, low melting point compounds such as FeS can be formed to cause high temperature cracking, so the content of S Is preferably limited to 0.01% or less.
- Oxygen (O) is an element that forms Ti oxide by reacting with Ti during solidification of the welded joint, and Ti oxide promotes transformation of acicular ferrite in the welded joint. At this time, if the O content is less than 0.03%, Ti oxide is not properly distributed in the welded joint, whereas if it exceeds 0.07%, coarse Ti oxide and other oxides such as FeO are formed to affect the impact toughness of the welded joint. It is not desirable because it is crazy.
- the welded joint according to an aspect of the present invention may further include one or two or more selected from the group consisting of Nb, V, W, and Zr, and one or two selected from calcium and rare earth metals, in addition to the above components. have.
- Niobium (Nb) is an element added for the purpose of improving quenching properties, and is particularly advantageous for obtaining bainite structure because it has an effect of lowering the Ar3 temperature and extending the bainite formation even in a low cooling rate range. It is necessary to add Nb to 0.001% or more in order to obtain the strength improvement with the above-mentioned effect, but if the content exceeds 0.1% by promoting the formation of phase martensite (MA) structure in the welded joint during welding It is not preferable because it adversely affects the toughness of the welded joint.
- MA phase martensite
- Vanadium (V) is an element which promotes ferrite transformation by combining with N to form a VN precipitate, and in order to obtain the above-mentioned effect, it is necessary to add V to 0.001% or more. However, if the content exceeds 0.1%, it is not preferable because it forms a hard phase such as carbide (Carbide) on the welded joint adversely affects the toughness of the welded joint.
- Carbide carbide
- Tungsten (W) is an effective element for enhancing high temperature strength and strengthening precipitation. If the content of W is less than 0.05%, the effect of increasing strength is insignificant, whereas if it exceeds 0.50%, it is not preferable because it adversely affects the impact toughness of the high strength welded joint.
- Zr Zirconium
- O oxygen
- Zr in an amount of 0.005% or more in order to obtain such a fine Zr composite oxide dispersion effect, but when it exceeds 0.5%, coarse Zr composite oxide and coarse ZrN precipitates are formed, which adversely affects impact toughness. I can't.
- Ca and REM 0.0005 to 0.005% and 0.005 to 0.05%, respectively
- Calcium (Ca) and rare earth metals (REM) serve to stabilize the arc during welding and to suppress the formation of oxides at the weld seam.
- it is an element effective in improving the toughness of the welded joint by inhibiting the growth of austenite grains in the cooling process to promote ferrite transformation in the mouth.
- it is necessary to add at least 0.0005% in the case of Ca and at least 0.005% in the case of REM, but when Ca exceeds 0.005% or REM exceeds 0.05%, coarse oxides are formed. By doing so, the toughness may be impaired.
- the REM may be one or two or more elements selected from the group consisting of Ce, La, Y, Hf, and the like, and any elements may be used to obtain the above-described effects.
- the rest consists of Fe and unavoidable impurities.
- the microstructure of the welded joint formed after flux cored arc welding includes more than 40% acicular ferrite and 40-50% mixed structure of bainite and martensite in area fraction. This is preferable.
- the structural fraction of high strength martensite or bainite is increased in the microstructure of the weld joint formed by FCAW, the strength can be easily achieved, but it may bring unsatisfactory results in terms of impact toughness.
- the tissue fraction of the needle-like ferrite having excellent toughness is increased, the toughness of the welded joint may be excellently secured, but may not reach the desired ultra high strength in terms of strength. Therefore, it is preferable that the structure of the welded joint to ensure excellent strength and toughness simultaneously is composed of at least 40% acicular ferrite and a mixed structure of 40-50% of bainite and martensite.
- the welded joint formed by diluting the base material and the filler metal under normal welding conditions has a carbon equivalent Ceq value shown below to satisfy the range of 0.73 to 0.85%. Design must be made.
- the carbon equivalent Ceq value represented by the above relation 1 must satisfy the range of 0.73 to 0.85%, and the balance of impact toughness and ultra high strength is made in the welded joint, and the weld joint can be made of a mixed structure as described above. It is.
- the carbon equivalent Ceq value of the welded joint is less than 0.73%, the impact toughness is excellent but ultra high strength is not achieved.
- the carbon equivalent is more than 0.85%, the ultra high strength may be secured, but impact toughness may be lowered. .
- the weld crack susceptibility index Pcm value expressed by the following relational expression 2 satisfies 0.35% or less.
- Pcm C + Si / 30 + (Mn + Cu + Cr) / 20 + Ni / 60 + Mo / 15 + V / 10 + 5B
- the welded joints satisfying the Ceq and Pcm values proposed by the present invention have an impact absorption energy (vE) of -80 ° C or higher at -5 ° C. , Has excellent impact toughness.
- the present inventors have found that when the arc length is controlled by controlling the conditions of the welding wire as follows, it is possible to facilitate the release of the diffusible hydrogen from the welding wire, and based on this, the present invention has been completed.
- High strength flux cored arc welding wire carbon (C): 0.03 ⁇ 0.12%, silicon (Si): 0.3 ⁇ 1.4%, manganese (Mn): 1.5 ⁇ 3.5 %, Nickel (Ni): 2.5-3.5%, Molybdenum (Mo): 0.3-1.0%, Chromium (Cr): 0.3-1.0%, Copper (Cu): 0.4-1.0%, Boron (B): 0.001-0.020 %, Titanium (Ti) + magnesium (Mg): 0.02 to 1.5%, balance Fe and other impurities, TiO 2 : 4.5-9.0%, SiO 2 : 0.2-2.0%, CaCO 3 : 0.1-1.0%, One or two or more of K, Na, and Li-based alkali oxides: 0.10 to 1.5%, preferably composed of alkali and alkaline earth metal fluorine compounds having an amount of fluorine (F) of 0.025 to 0.5%.
- K, Na, and Li-based alkali oxides 0.10
- Carbon (C) is an essential element for securing the strength of the welded joint and securing the weld hardenability, and in order to obtain such an effect, it is preferably added at 0.03% or more. However, if the content exceeds 0.12%, the weldability is greatly reduced and there is a problem of promoting low temperature crack generation at the welded joint, which is not preferable.
- Silicon (Si) is an element added for the deoxidation effect. If the content is less than 0.3%, the deoxidation effect in the welded joint is insufficient and the fluidity of the welded joint is reduced, whereas if the content exceeds 1.4%, the weld is welded. It is not preferable because it promotes the transformation of the island-like martensite (MA) in the joint to lower the low-temperature impact toughness and affects the welding low temperature cracking susceptibility.
- MA island-like martensite
- Manganese (Mn) is an element useful for deoxidation and strength improvement in steel, and is advantageous in forming a solid solution in a matrix structure to strengthen the matrix to secure the strength and toughness.
- Mn in an amount of 1.5% or more, but when the content thereof is excessively more than 3.5%, there is a problem of deteriorating the impact toughness of the weld joint by increasing the hardenability of the weld joint.
- Nickel (Ni) is an effective element for improving the strength and toughness of a matrix by solid solution strengthening. In order to obtain the above-mentioned effect, it is necessary to add Ni to 2.5% or more. On the other hand, if the content exceeds 3.5%, the hardenability of the steel may be greatly increased and hot cracking of the weld joint may be promoted. Can not do it.
- Molybdenum (Mo) is an element that increases the hardenability and is effective for improving the strength, and when the content is less than 0.3%, the above-described effects cannot be obtained. On the other hand, if the content exceeds 1.0%, the high strength weld metal part toughness is affected, which is not preferable.
- Chromium (Cr) is an element which increases the hardenability and is effective for improving the strength. If the content is less than 0.3%, the above-described effects cannot be obtained. On the other hand, if the content exceeds 1.0%, there is a problem that leads to the deterioration of the toughness of the welded joint, it is not preferable.
- Copper (Cu) is an element that is dissolved in a matrix and is effective for improving strength and toughness due to a solid solution strengthening effect. If the content is less than 0.4%, the above-described effects cannot be obtained. On the other hand, if the content exceeds 1.0%, the hardness of the welded joint is increased, thereby reducing the toughness, and there is a problem that promotes high temperature cracking at the welded joint, which is not preferable.
- B Boron
- B is an element which increases hardenability, and is particularly useful for segregating at grain boundaries to suppress grain boundary ferrite transformation. For this effect, it is necessary to add B to 0.001% or more, but when the content exceeds 0.020%, the effect is saturated and the weld hardenability is greatly increased, which promotes martensite transformation in the weld joint, causing welding cold cracking. And deterioration of toughness, which is undesirable.
- Titanium (Ti) is an element that not only forms a fine Ti oxide by combining with O, but also forms a fine TiN precipitate
- magnesium (Mg) is an element that combines with O to form Mg oxide.
- the Ti and Mg content is preferably added in an amount of 0.02% or more. However, when the content exceeds 1.5%, coarse oxides or precipitates are formed, which adversely affects the weld joint toughness, which is not preferable.
- TiO 2 acts as a slag generating agent (slag former), and if the TiO 2 content is less than 4.5%, there is a problem that a sufficient amount of slag to prevent the molten metal from flowing in vertical upward welding cannot be obtained. In this case, there is a problem in that the bead shape becomes poor. On the other hand, if the content exceeds 9.0%, the amount of oxygen in the welded joint is excessive, and there is a risk of adjusting the high temperature crack in the first layer during single-side welding, which is not preferable because it may deteriorate impact toughness.
- slag former slag former
- SiO 2 and ZrO 2 0.2 ⁇ 2.0%
- SiO 2 and ZrO 2 are effective components to secure arc stability and slad fluidity. If the oxide content is less than 0.2%, the slad fluidity is unstable and the weld bead shape is poor. On the other hand, if the content exceeds 2.0% slad fluidity can be secured, but spatter is increased, there is a problem that the weldability and bead shape is inferior.
- CaCO 3 effectively reduces the partial pressure of hydrogen in the arc and is effective in reducing diffuse hydrogen in the weld seam. To achieve this effect, it is necessary to add CaCO 3 to more than 0.1%, but if the content exceeds 1.0%, excessively increasing arc instability and welding fume due to excessive decomposition of CaCO 3 Since there is a problem, it is not preferable.
- the present invention may include other carbonates in addition to the CaCO 3 .
- K, Na, and Li-based alkali oxides 0.10 to 1.5%
- K, Na and Li-based alkali oxides lower the ionization potential of the arc during welding, thereby facilitating the generation of the arc, and serves to maintain a stable arc during welding.
- the content exceeds 1.5%, excessive welding fume may occur due to high vapor pressure.
- the fluorine compound Since the fluorine compound generates fluorine in the arc in the high temperature arc and reacts with hydrogen during welding, it causes a dehydrogenation reaction, thereby effectively reducing the diffusible hydrogen in the welded joint.
- the content of F in the fluorine compound of more than 0.025%, but if the content is excessively more than 0.5%, excessive welding fume may occur due to high steam pressure, slag It is not preferable because the viscosity may be excessively reduced to form unstable beads.
- the fluorine compound is preferably one or two or more of CaF 2 , BaF 2 and MgF 2 .
- the flux cored arc welding material proposed by the present invention may include the remaining Fe and other impurities inevitably contained in the manufacturing process, in addition to the above-described alloy composition. Not only can secure the but also can provide a welded joint having excellent impact resistance and wear resistance. In addition, since the electron fine welding is possible, it is possible to easily implement the pipe welding in the industrial field.
- the weld joint formed after welding using a high strength flux cored welding wire that satisfies the above-described composition has a fine structure of 40% or more acicular ferrite and 40 to 50% bainite and martensite. Composed of a mixed structure of the ultra high strength of more than 900MPa tensile strength and impact toughness at -20 °C can secure high toughness of 75J or more. Moreover, the amount of diffusible hydrogen is 6-9 ml / 100g, and can effectively reduce the amount of diffusible hydrogen.
- the flux cored arc welding wire provided by the present invention is composed of a hoop made of a soft steel material, which is an outer skin of the wire, and a plus filled in the inside of the wire, and the plus secures the metal powder for securing physical properties of the weld metal and welds when welding. It consists of inorganic and metal powders added for the purpose. Typically, the weight ratio of flux to total weight of flux cored arc welding wire is 13-25%.
- the inorganic materials and metals for securing weldability such as the amount and type of metal powder for securing physical properties of the weld metal, the amount of spatter generated during welding and securing the bead shape of the weld metal, which are welded even in the flux (TiO 2 , SiO 2 , K) 2 O, Na 2 O, Zr 2 O, CaCO 3 , CaF 2 , Ti + Mg) by adjusting the type and amount of powder to improve the weldability of the level of conventional titanium-containing flux cored wire, and also mechanical properties It was intended to obtain this excellent welded joint.
- the flux TiO 2 , SiO 2 , K
- FCAW flux cored arc welding
- the results of the composition of the welded joint formed after the flux cored arc welding are shown in Table 1 below, and the welding conditions during the welding, the microstructure composition and the mechanical properties of the welded joint after the welding were measured, and are shown in Table 2 below.
- the impact toughness of the mechanical properties was evaluated by the impact of the impact absorption energy (vE) of the welded joint through the Charpy impact test using the KS standard (KS B 0809) impact test specimen.

- the microstructure is controlled according to the component composition and the component relationship, thereby greatly improving the strength and toughness.
- the welded joint according to the present invention can be confirmed that the microstructure is formed of acicular ferrite and martensite and bainite.
- the comparative examples are the case where the composition and the component relationship of the welded joint do not satisfy the suggestions of the present invention, the fraction of acicular ferrite in the formed microstructure is too low, or the bainite + martensite fraction is too It can be confirmed that the low or high, rather the results show that the strength and toughness is lowered.
