Definitions
- the present invention relates to a flexible load sensor including an extendable sensor part and a wiring part, and more particularly to a structure of the wiring part.
- Patent Document 1 discloses a capacitive sensor in which a front electrode and a back electrode are arranged so as to intersect each other with a stretchable dielectric layer interposed therebetween. A plurality of detectors are formed between the front and back electrodes facing in the front and back direction. When a load is applied to the capacitance type sensor, the thickness of the detection portion at that portion, that is, the distance between the front side electrode and the back side electrode is reduced. Thereby, the electrostatic capacitance of a detection part becomes large. Thus, according to the capacitance type sensor, the load distribution can be detected based on the change in the capacitance.
- a front-side electrode and a back-side electrode (hereinafter, collectively referred to as “electrode”), an electrode
- the wiring for electrically connecting the measurement circuit and the measurement circuit is formed of a conductive material having an elastomer as a base material.
- the wiring is formed by screen printing a silver paste in which silver powder is dispersed in a polymer for an elastomer. Due to the relationship between the size of the sensor and the sensing area, the space where wiring can be arranged is limited. For this reason, the silver paste must be printed as thinly (with a reduced width) as possible so that the width of each wiring becomes smaller. On the other hand, it is better that the electrical resistance of the wiring is small. In addition, the wiring is also required to be durable enough to withstand repeated elongation and bending. For this reason, the silver paste is printed as thick as possible.
- the capacitive sensor when used as a seat sensor for a car seat or a wheelchair, a large load is likely to be applied locally. In this case, the sensor is greatly deformed, and the wiring is extended following the deformation. As described above, the area of one wiring is small. Moreover, since silver powder is mix
- This invention is made
- the load sensor of the present invention includes a stretchable sensor portion that detects a load, and a wiring portion connected to the sensor portion, and the wiring portion has stretchability.
- a first conductive layer disposed on the surface of the substrate having an elastomer and a conductive carbon powder; and a second conductive layer laminated on the first conductive layer and having a smaller area than the first conductive layer and including an elastomer and a metal powder. And a conductive layer.
- the wiring portion has a two-layer structure in which at least a first conductive layer and a second conductive layer are laminated. Both the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer have an elastomer as a base material. For this reason, it can be expanded and contracted together with the base material. Moreover, a 2nd conductive layer can be reinforced by interposing the 1st conductive layer containing the conductive carbon powder which has a reinforcement effect between the 2nd conductive layer and base material corresponding to the conventional wiring. . And since a 1st conductive layer contains conductive carbon powder, an elastic modulus is smaller than the 2nd conductive layer containing metal powder.
- first conductive layer By interposing a flexible first conductive layer between the base material and the second conductive layer, stress generated during expansion and contraction can be absorbed by the first conductive layer and relaxed.
- the increase in electrical resistance when stretched is small compared to the second conductive layer. For this reason, even if the electrical resistance of the second conductive layer increases at the time of elongation or even if a crack occurs and the conduction is interrupted, the conduction can be ensured through the first conductive layer that is in contact.
- the layers are laminated in the order of base material / first conductive layer (large area) / second conductive layer (small area). That is, the large area layer is formed first and then the small area layer is formed. For this reason, even if it forms by any method of sticking and printing, the said problem does not arise. Therefore, the reinforcing effect by lamination can be sufficiently exhibited.
- the durability of the wiring portion is improved. Therefore, the load sensor of the present invention is excellent in durability.
- Patent Document 2 discloses a wiring board having an insulating substrate, a carbon circuit printed on the insulating substrate, and a silver paste wiring circuit printed on the carbon circuit. .
- Patent Document 2 describes a wiring board such as a printed wiring board or a mounting circuit board. Unlike load sensors, this type of wiring board is not required to be stretchable. Therefore, naturally, the carbon circuit and the wiring circuit need not be stretchable. The carbon circuit only serves to suppress migration of silver wiring.
- durability of the silver wiring against elongation and bending is not a problem.
- Patent Documents 3 and 4 disclose a conductive layer having a two-layer structure of a carbon paste and a silver paste. However, stretchability is not necessary in any conductive layer. For this reason, the durability of the silver wiring against elongation and bending is not a problem.
- the contact area between the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer is increased, and the adhesion between the two is increased. Thereby, even if expansion and contraction is repeated, the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer are hardly separated. In addition, the reinforcing effect of the second conductive layer by the first conductive layer is also increased.
- the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer are preferably formed by a printing method.
- the printing method it is possible to easily form the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer that are long, thin, or thin.
- the printing method include inkjet printing, flexographic printing, gravure printing, screen printing, pad printing, and lithography.
- the screen printing method is preferred because the coating thickness can be easily adjusted and the dimensional accuracy is high.
- the area of the second conductive layer is smaller than the area of the first conductive layer. For this reason, even if the printing method is adopted, when printing a thin film having a large area on a thin film having a small area, there is no problem of a printing step such that the upper thin film is thinned.
- the wiring portion applies the first conductive paint for forming the first conductive layer to the surface of the substrate, and then the semi-cured first It is better to have a configuration in which a second conductive paint for forming the second conductive layer is applied to the surface of one conductive paint.
- the semi-cured state means a state before the applied paint is completely cured.
- the coating surface of the first conductive paint is recessed due to the application pressure of the second conductive paint.
- the area of the second conductive layer is smaller than the area of the first conductive layer.
- the area of the second conductive layer is smaller than the area of the first conductive layer.
- the second conductive layer in which the metal powder is well dispersed can be formed with high dimensional accuracy.
- the wiring portion further includes a protective layer that covers the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer. Is good.
- the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer are less likely to come into contact with air. Thereby, the metal powder of the second conductive layer is hardly oxidized. Therefore, even if it uses for a long period of time, the electroconductivity of a 2nd conductive layer cannot fall easily. Also, by covering with a protective layer, it is possible to ensure insulation between the wiring portion and the outside. Furthermore, the effect of reinforcing the wiring portion can be expected.
- As a material for the protective layer it is desirable to employ an elastic elastomer so as not to hinder the elasticity of the wiring portion.
- the wiring portion has a connection end electrically connected to a measurement circuit, and the connection end is It is better to have a configuration in which the first conductive layer is laminated so as to cover the two conductive layers, and the reinforcing layer includes a resin and conductive carbon powder.
- the reinforcing layer containing conductive carbon powder having a reinforcing effect is arranged at the connection end. Thereby, the strength of the connection end portion is increased, and the durability of the wiring portion is improved.
- the sensor unit is a polymer dielectric layer, and a front side base material disposed on the front side of the dielectric layer and having elasticity.
- a load can be detected from a change in capacitance of a detection unit formed between the back side electrode, and the wiring unit is arranged on the back side of the front side substrate and is connected to the front side electrode.
- the back side disposed on the surface of the back side substrate And the first conductive layer of the front side wiring part is formed continuously with the front side electrode, and the first conductive layer of the back side wiring part is continuous with the back side electrode. It is better to have a structure formed as described above.
- the load sensor of this configuration is a capacitance type sensor, and a change in the distance (thickness of the detection unit) between the front electrode disposed on the front sheet member and the back electrode disposed on the back sheet member.
- the load is detected from the change in the capacitance due to.
- the first conductive layer and the front electrode of the front wiring part both include an elastomer and conductive carbon powder.
- both the first conductive layer and the back electrode of the back wiring portion include an elastomer and conductive carbon powder. Therefore, the first conductive layer, the front side electrode, and the back side electrode can be formed of the same material. That is, the first conductive layer can be easily formed by simply extending the front side electrode and the back side electrode.

- the load for each of the detection units A0101 to A0808 is calculated from the change amount ⁇ C of the capacitance C.
- the back side wiring portions 01y to 08y each include the first conductive layer 32 and the second conductive layer 33.
- the front-side wiring portions 01x to 08x each have a first conductive layer and a second conductive layer. Since the back-side wiring portions 01y to 08y and the front-side wiring portions 01x to 08x have the same configuration, they have the same effects. Therefore, here, the effects of the back side wiring portions 01y to 08y will be described on behalf of both.
- the first conductive layer 32 and the second conductive layer 33 are both made of elastomer as a base material. For this reason, it can be expanded and contracted together with the back-side base material 31. Further, by interposing a first conductive layer 32 containing conductive carbon powder (carbon black, carbon nanotube) having a reinforcing effect between the second conductive layer 33 corresponding to the conventional wiring and the back-side base material 31.
- the second conductive layer 33 can be reinforced.
- the elastic modulus of the first conductive layer 32 is smaller than the elastic modulus of the second conductive layer 33.
- the flexible first conductive layer 32 between the back-side base material 31 and the second conductive layer 33, the stress generated during expansion and contraction can be absorbed by the first conductive layer 32 and relaxed.
- the first conductive layer 32 has a smaller increase in electrical resistance when stretched than the second conductive layer 33. For this reason, even if the electrical resistance of the second conductive layer 33 increases at the time of extension, or even if a crack occurs and the conduction is cut off, the conduction can be ensured through the first conductive layer 32 that is in contact.
- the first conductive layer 32 and the second conductive layer 33 are each formed by a screen printing method.
- the area of the second conductive layer 33 is smaller than the area of the first conductive layer 32.
- the first conductive layer 32 and the back side electrodes 01Y to 08Y are formed of the same material. Therefore, the first conductive layer 32 can be easily formed by simply extending the back-side electrodes 01Y to 08Y.
- the back side wiring portions 01y to 08y are formed by applying the first conductive paint 321 to the upper surface of the back side base material 31 and applying the second conductive paint 331 before the first conductive paint 321 is completely cured.
- a recess 320 is formed on the upper surface of the first conductive layer 32, and a lower portion of the second conductive layer 33 is embedded in the recess 320. Therefore, the contact area between the first conductive layer 32 and the second conductive layer 33 is increased, and the adhesion between the two is increased. Therefore, even if the expansion and contraction is repeated, the first conductive layer 32 and the second conductive layer 33 are difficult to peel off. Further, the reinforcing effect of the second conductive layer 33 by the first conductive layer 32 is also increased.
- the first conductive paint 321 having a large area is printed, and then the second conductive paint 331 having a small area is printed. Therefore, there is little possibility that the polymer content and silver powder of the second conductive paint 331 will spread toward the first conductive paint 321 side. Therefore, the second conductive layer 33 in which the silver powder is well dispersed can be formed with high dimensional accuracy.
- the surface roughness of the upper surface of the first conductive layer 32 (the surface on which the second conductive layer 33 is laminated) is 1.98 ⁇ m.
- the value of the surface roughness is about 1/5 of the thickness of the first conductive layer 32. Since the surface roughness of the upper surface of the first conductive layer 32 is large, the adhesion between the first conductive layer 32 and the second conductive layer 33 is large due to the anchor effect. Therefore, even if it uses for a long time, the electroconductivity of the 2nd conductive layer 33 does not fall easily. Further, since the protective layer 34 has insulating properties, it is possible to ensure the insulating properties between the back side wiring portions 01y to 08y and the outside. On the other hand, the connection end portion 300y of the back side wiring portions 01y to 08y has a reinforcing layer 35. As a result, the strength of the connection end portion 300y is increased, and the durability of the back side wiring portions 01y to 08y is further improved.
