- a first case when the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j) is smaller than the first threshold value TH1, the weight coefficient generation unit 421 determines that there is no magnetic pattern. Then, the weight coefficient generation unit 421 outputs the minimum value Kmin of the correction data weight coefficient as the correction data weight coefficient K44 (j). Note that “there is no magnetic pattern” means that a signal component corresponding to the magnetic pattern is included only to a negligible level.

- the weight coefficient generation unit 421 outputs the maximum value Kmax of the correction data weight coefficient as the correction data weight coefficient K44 (j).
- “there is a magnetic pattern” means that many signal components corresponding to the magnetic pattern are included.
- the weight coefficient generation unit 421 calculates the minimum value Kmin of the correction data weight coefficient. A value determined by the monotonically increasing characteristic up to the maximum value Kmax is output as the correction data weight coefficient K44 (j).
- the weighting factor generation unit 421 calculates the correction data weighting factor K44 (j) according to the relationship expressed by the following equation (2).
- K44 (j) Krst (2)
- Krst is a parameter representing the value of the correction data weight coefficient K44 (j) during the invalid period of magnetic pattern detection.
- the value Krst satisfies the relationship 0 ⁇ Krst ⁇ Kmin.
- the weight coefficient generation unit 421 does not depend on the value of the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j), but the correction data weight coefficient K44 (j ) Is output.
- the value of the correction data weight coefficient K44 (j) at this time is the value Krst.
- the value Krst is a value equal to or less than the value Kmin.
- the weight coefficient generation unit 421 calculates a detection data weight coefficient K3 (j) that is 1 with the correction data weight coefficient K44 (j) according to the relationship represented by the following equation (3).
- K3 (j) 1-K44 (j) (3)

Then, the correction data calculation unit 422 outputs the updated correction data d42 (i). The correction data calculation unit 422 uses weighting coefficients K3 (j) and K44 (j) when performing weighted addition.
- the correction data calculation unit 422 multiplies the correction data d44 (i) by the correction data weight coefficient K44 (j), and the detection data d3 (i) is multiplied by the detection data weight coefficient K3 ( i) is multiplied and each multiplication result is added (weighted addition).
- the parameter setting unit 423 holds parameters TH1, TH2, Kmax, Kmin, and Krst preset by the user. Then, the parameter setting unit 423 supplies the parameters TH1, TH2, Kmax, Kmin, and Krst to the weight coefficient generation unit 421. Note that the parameters TH1, TH2, Kmax, Kmin, and Krst are not necessarily set by the user. It can also be set by the producer on the production line or the like. That is, the parameters TH1, TH2, Kmax, Kmin, and Krst are set from the outside.
- the first threshold value TH1 and the second threshold value TH2 are determined in advance in consideration of the S / N of the information reading apparatus. This is to prevent signal misdetection or signal detection leakage due to noise as much as possible. Further, the maximum value Kmax of the correction data weighting factor is set to 1 or a value close to 1. This is to increase the weight of the correction data d44 (i) in updating the correction data when it is determined that there is a signal component corresponding to the magnetic pattern.
- “there is a signal component” means that the signal component is sufficiently large.
- the minimum value Kmin of the correction data weighting factor is determined in advance in consideration of the level fluctuation speed of the detection signal and the frequency characteristics of the signal. This is for the purpose of preventing the low-frequency component of the detection signal from being removed while reflecting the fluctuation in the level of the detection signal in the correction data update when it is determined that there is no signal component corresponding to the magnetic pattern.
- “there is no signal component” means that the signal component is negligibly small.
- the correction data weight coefficient Krst in the invalid period of the magnetic pattern detection is predetermined to a value equal to or less than Kmin. This is to increase the weight of the detection data d3 (i) with respect to the correction data. These parameters are configured so that the user can change them from the outside, for example.
- the correction data updating unit 42 outputs the updated correction data d42 (i) with the above configuration.
- the correction data subtraction unit 43 subtracts the correction data d42 (i) updated by the correction data update unit 42 from the detection data d3 (i).
- the correction data subtraction unit 43 outputs the subtraction result as corrected detection data d43 (i).
- the correction data line memory 44 holds the updated correction data d42 (i) for one detection line La.
- the updated correction data d42 (i) is data updated by the correction data update unit 42.
- the updated correction data d42 (i) held in the correction data line memory 44 is used as correction data d44 (i) in the processing of the pattern presence / absence evaluation value generation unit 41 and the correction data update unit 42 for the next detection line La. Used.
- DC component correction unit 4 outputs detection data d43 (i) after correction as detection data d4 (i) after DC component correction with the above configuration.
- the detection data d4 (i) after the DC component correction output from the DC component correction unit 4 is supplied to the signal adjustment unit 5.
- the signal adjustment unit 5 includes, for example, a gain adjustment circuit that adjusts the gain or a noise reduction circuit that performs noise removal. Then, the signal adjustment unit 5 performs signal adjustment such as gain adjustment or noise removal on the corrected detection data d4 (i). Thereafter, the signal adjustment unit 5 outputs the detection data d5 (i) after adjustment.
- FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing the operation of the DC component correction unit 4.
- step S0 detection data d3 (i) is input for one detection line La.
- correction data d44 (i) for one detection line La held in the correction data line memory 44 is read.
- the pattern presence / absence determination step S2 the line average value MAD (j) of the absolute value of the difference between the detection data d3 (i) and the correction data d44 (i) for the same detection element 11 is obtained.
- the line average value MAD (j) is output as the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j) of the detection line La that is performing signal processing.
- the “line average value” is a value obtained by adding a value based on the output of each detection element arranged in a line and dividing the value by the number of detection elements. That is, the average value of the values detected by the detection line La.
- the correction data d44 (i) is updated according to the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j). This update is performed for all the detection elements in the detection line La that is performing signal processing.
- weighting factors K3 (j) and K44 (j) corresponding to the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j) and the detection enable signal d2 are generated.
- FIG. 8 is a flowchart showing details of the weighting coefficient generation step S31.
- step S310 the detection enable signal d2 of the detection line La that is performing signal processing is checked.
- step S310 if the detection enable signal d2 of the detection line La performing signal processing is '1' (effective period of magnetic pattern detection) (YES in the conditional branch of step S310), the process proceeds to step S311. .
- step S311 a weighting coefficient K44 (j) is generated by a relational expression (expression (1)) depending on the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j), and the process proceeds to step S312.
- step S312 a weighting coefficient K3 (j) is generated by Expression (3).
- step S313 A weighting coefficient K44 (j) is generated by a relational expression (expression (2)) that does not depend on the value d41 (j), and the process proceeds to step S312. Thereafter, in step S312, a weighting coefficient K3 (j) is generated by Expression (3).
- the detection data d3 (i) and the correction data d44 (i) are weighted and added using the weighting factors K3 (j) and K44 (j) generated based on the equation (4). .
- the weighted value is output as updated correction data d42 (i).
- the weighted addition is performed on the detection data d3 (i) and the correction data d44 (i) for the same detection element 11.
- the updated correction data d42 (i) is written in the correction data line memory 44 in the correction data writing step S4.
- step S5 the updated correction data d42 (i) is subtracted from the detection data d3 (i).
- corrected detection data d4 (i) is obtained by this subtraction.
- the subtraction is performed on the detection data d3 (i) for the same detection element 11 and the updated correction data d42 (i).
- step S6 the corrected detection data d4 (i) obtained in step S5 is output.
- the process in step S6 is also performed for each detection line La.
- step S6 corrected detection data for one detection line La is output.
- “Detection line La unit” means all the detection elements of the detection line La being subjected to signal processing.
- a delay unit 45 (shown by a broken line) is provided on the input side of the correction data subtraction unit 43. That is, the detection data d3 (i) may be input to the correction data subtraction unit 43 via the delay unit 45. This is because the updated correction data d42 (i) is subtracted from the detection data d3 (i) used for the update.
- the delay time by the delay unit 45 corresponds to the time required for processing by the pattern presence / absence evaluation value generation unit 41 and the correction data update unit 42. The above is the description of the operation of the DC component correction unit 4 of the information reading apparatus 100 according to Embodiment 1 of the present invention.
- FIGS. 9A to 9D and FIGS. 10A to 10D show data profiles for the lines MSa and MSb in different sub-scanning directions Y on the banknote 13 of FIG.
- the horizontal axis indicates the sub-scanning direction Y
- the vertical axis indicates the signal value.
- the detection element 11 positioned on the line MSa is a detection element 11 different from the detection element 11 positioned on the line MSb. That is, FIG. 9A and FIG.
- FIG. 9D and FIG. 10D show the detection enable signal d2.
- the level of the detection signal tends to gradually increase from one to the other.
- the level of the detection signal tends to gradually decrease from one to the other.
- “from one to the other” is “from the upper end to the lower end”.
- “from one to the other” is “from the left end to the right end”.
- the level of the detection signal of the detection element 11 may vary within the reading period of one banknote due to temperature or the like.
- the manner in which the level of the detection signal varies may vary from one detection element 11 to another. For this reason, the variation in the detection signal level in the main scanning direction X appears as streak-like noise in the sub-scanning direction Y in the detection data d3 (i).
- the offset correction method shown in Patent Document 1 calculates an offset correction value only between bills. That is, the offset correction method disclosed in Patent Document 1 calculates the offset correction value during the invalid period of magnetic pattern detection. For this reason, if the output level fluctuates during the reading period of one banknote, even if the variation in the level of the detection signal in the main scanning direction X is suppressed near the leading edge of the banknote, the main scanning direction X is near the trailing edge of the banknote.
- the output level varies.
- “near the top of the banknote” is an area of the banknote when reading is started. Further, “near the top of the banknote” is an area of the banknote when reading is finished.
- the offset correction method disclosed in Patent Document 1 cannot sufficiently remove streak-like noise, and there is a problem in that the accuracy of bill recognition is reduced.
- the above problem is solved by updating the offset correction value within the effective period of magnetic pattern detection.
- the offset correction value is weighted according to the presence or absence of a signal component corresponding to the magnetic pattern.
- the updated correction data d42 (i) shown in FIG. 9B and FIG. 10B is the detection data d (i) from the reading start to the previous detection line La (line in the main scanning direction X).
- the direct current component does not change significantly between the previous detection line La in the main scanning direction X and the current detection line La in the main scanning direction X. Therefore, the DC component of the detection data d3 (i) is the same in the detection line La in the previous main scanning direction X and the current detection line La in the main scanning direction X.
- the “DC component” is a value obtained by subtracting the signal component corresponding to the magnetic pattern from the detection data d3 (i) of the detection line La in the current main scanning direction X.
- the weight of the detection data d3 (i) is increased.
- the updated correction data d42 (i) is created. Thereby, at the reading start point of the banknote, the updated value of the correction data d42 (i) matches the value of the detection data d3 (i).
- the correction data update unit 42 increases the weighting of the detection data d3 (i) regardless of the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j) of the pattern presence / absence evaluation value generation unit 41. Thereby, the followability of the updated correction data d42 (i) with respect to the detection data d3 is improved. Then, the correction data d44 (i) can be initialized in a short time between the bill 13 and the bill 13.
- the DC component correction unit 4 determines the weighting coefficient according to the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j) of the pattern presence / absence evaluation value generation unit 41. Determine.
- the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j) indicates the degree to which a magnetic pattern is included in the detection data d3 (i).
- the DC component correction unit 4 updates the correction data using the determined weight coefficients K3 and K44. That is, when there is no magnetic pattern, the DC component correction unit 4 increases the weight of the detection data d3 (i) and weights and adds the detection data d3 (i) and the correction data d44 (i).
- the updated correction data d42 (i) is further updated. Therefore, the updated correction data d42 (i) is close to the detection data d3 (i).
- the DC component correction unit 4 increases the weight of the correction data d44 (i) and weights and adds the detection data d3 (i) and the correction data d44 (i). Then, the updated correction data d42 (i) is further updated. Accordingly, the updated correction data d42 (i) is close to the correction data d44 (i) before the update. This means that the correction data d44 (i) determined based on the detection data d3 (i) of the past detection line La is maintained.
- the DC component correction unit 4 sets the weighting coefficients K3 (j) and K44 (j) according to the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j). Determine. “Intermediate between“ with magnetic pattern ”and“ without magnetic pattern ”indicates a case where the line average value MAD (j) of the absolute difference value is not less than the threshold value TH1 and not more than the threshold value TH2. “According to the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j)” means “according to the degree to which the signal component corresponding to the magnetic pattern is included”. The DC component correction unit 4 updates the correction data d42 (i) updated using the determined weighting factors K3 and K44.
- the signal can represent only one of the two cases.
- the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j) is 1 bit, only one of “with magnetic pattern” and “without magnetic pattern” can be indicated.
- the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j) is not a value (one-bit value) indicating only one of “with magnetic pattern” or “without magnetic pattern”.
- the weight coefficient generation unit 421 generates weight coefficients K44 (j) and K3 (j) that continuously change with respect to the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j).
- amendment part 4 can perform the appropriate update according to the grade in which the signal component corresponding to a magnetic pattern is contained. Further, when there is only “with magnetic pattern” or “without magnetic pattern”, there is a possibility that a step is generated in the two-dimensional image represented by the detection data d4 after correction at the switching portion between the two. . However, in the first embodiment, such a step is less likely to occur by performing processing according to the degree of presence / absence of a pattern.
- the corrected detection data d4 (i) has a target value when there is no signal component corresponding to the magnetic pattern (other than SG1 and SG2). It is aligned with the TGT level.
- the direct current component correction unit 4 varies the level of the detection signal in the main scanning direction X where there is no signal component corresponding to the magnetic pattern. suppress.
- the information processing apparatus 100 according to Embodiment 1 of the present invention can reduce streak noise in the sub-scanning direction Y.
- the correction data can be updated within the reading period of one bill based on the presence or absence of the pattern. For this reason, Embodiment 1 of the present invention can reduce the influence of the level fluctuation of the detection signal that occurs during the reading period of each detection object.
- the first embodiment of the present invention can obtain detection data in which level variations are sufficiently corrected.
- the signal processing device 4 includes a pattern presence / absence evaluation value generation unit 41, a correction data update unit 42, and a correction data subtraction unit 43.
- the pattern presence / absence evaluation value generation unit 41 is based on the detection data d3 including the signal component of the detection target obtained by sequentially detecting the detection target by the detection element 11, and includes the signal component in the detection data d3. Is calculated.
- the correction data update unit 42 increases the weighting of the correction data d44 representing the DC component of the detection element as the degree is large, and increases the weighting of the detection data d3 as the degree is small, thereby obtaining the correction data d44 and the detection data d3.
- the updated correction data d42 is generated by weighted addition.
- the correction data subtraction unit 43 subtracts the updated correction data d42 from the detection data d3 to generate corrected detection data.
- the pattern presence / absence evaluation value generation unit 41 uses the line average value MAD (j) of the absolute difference value between the detection data d3 (i) and the correction data d44 (i) for the same detection element 11 as a pattern. Presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j) is used. In the second embodiment, the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j) is obtained by another method.
- the same components as those of the information processing apparatus 100 described in the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof is omitted.
- the same components as in the first embodiment are the detection data generation unit 10 (pattern detection unit 1 and A / D conversion unit 3), the detection enable creation unit 2, the correction data update unit 42, the correction data line memory 44, and the correction.
- the information processing apparatus will also be described using the same reference numeral 100 as in the first embodiment.
- the pattern presence / absence evaluation value generation unit 41 calculates the in-line standard deviation s (j) of the difference between the detection data d3 (i) and the correction data d44 (i) for the same detection element 11.
- the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (j) is used.
- the in-line standard deviation s (j) can be obtained by the following equation (5). In formula (5), it defines as follows. d3 (i) is detection data for the i-th detection element 11 in each detection line La. d44 (i) is correction data for the same i-th detection element 11. I is the total number of detection elements 11 in the detection line La.
- the pattern presence / absence evaluation value generation unit 41 calculates the standard deviation of noise prior to the information reading by the information reading apparatus 100.
- the pattern presence / absence evaluation value generation unit 41 uses the calculated standard deviation of noise as the first threshold value TH1. If the in-line standard deviation s (j) is greater than or equal to the threshold value TH1 during the information reading operation of the information reading apparatus 100, it is estimated that there are many signal components corresponding to the magnetic pattern included in this detection line La. be able to. In addition, when the in-line standard deviation s (j) is smaller than the threshold value TH1 during the information reading operation of the information reading apparatus 100, the signal line corresponding to the magnetic pattern included in the detection line La is small. Can be estimated. Standard deviation is often used for noise level evaluation.
- Embodiment 3 In the first embodiment, the pattern presence / absence evaluation value generation unit 41 determines the pattern presence / absence and the correction data update unit 42 generates the weight coefficients K3 and K44 for each detection line La.
- the pattern presence / absence determination and the weighting factors K3 and K44 are generated for each detection element 11.
- a DC component correction unit 4b shown in FIG. 11 is used instead of the DC component correction unit 4 of FIG.
- a correction data update unit 42b shown in FIG. 12 is used instead of the correction data update unit 42 of FIG.
- FIG. 11 is a block diagram showing the information reading device 110.
- FIG. 12 is a block diagram illustrating a configuration example of the correction data update unit 42b. Components similar to those of the first embodiment are the detection data generation unit 10 (pattern detection unit 1 and A / D conversion unit 3), the detection enable creation unit 2, the correction data line memory 44, the delay unit 45, and the system control unit. 6 and the signal adjustment unit 5.
- the configuration shown in FIGS. 11 and 12 is generally the same in block configuration and input / output relationship as in FIGS. 1 and 5, except for the following points.
- the pattern presence / absence evaluation value generation unit 41 evaluates the line average value MAD (j) of the difference absolute value between the detection data d3 (i) and the correction data d44 (i) for the same detection element as the pattern presence / absence evaluation. It is output as the value d41 (j).
- the pattern presence / absence evaluation value generation unit 41b uses the absolute difference between the detection data d3 (i) and the correction data d44 (i) for the same detection element 11 as the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (i) of this detection element 11. Output as.
- the weight coefficient generation unit 421 of the correction data update unit 42 performs the correction data weight coefficient K44 (i) and the detection data weight coefficient K3 according to the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (i) for each detection line La. (I) is generated for each detection line La.
- the weight coefficient generation unit 421b of the correction data update unit 42b corrects the correction data weight coefficient K44 (i) and the detection data weight coefficient K3 (i) according to the pattern presence / absence evaluation value d41 (i) for each detection element 11. Are generated for each detection element 11.
- the correction data calculation unit 422 according to the first embodiment performs calculation using the weighting coefficients K44 (j) and K3 (j) generated for each detection line La.
- the weighting factor K44 is added to the correction data d44 (i)
- the weighting factor K3 (j) is added to the detection data d3 (i)
- these weighted data are added.
- the correction data calculation unit 422b performs calculation using different weighting factors K44 (i) and K3 (i) for each detection element 11.
- the difference from the first embodiment is that the weighting factors K44 (i) and K3 (i) differ for each detection element 11.
- the calculation using the weighting factors K44 (i) and K3 (i) is the same as in the first embodiment.
- the correction data calculation unit 422b is calculated to obtain updated correction data d42 (i).
- the correction data update method can be changed between the region where the signal component corresponding to the magnetic pattern is obtained and the other region. That is, when the region where the signal component corresponding to the magnetic pattern is obtained does not occupy a part of the detection line La, in the determination for each detection line La, the detection line La corresponds to the signal component corresponding to the magnetic pattern. Is determined to contain only a few. In this case, the correction data is updated by increasing the weighting of the correction data. However, such an update is not appropriate for a portion where many signal components corresponding to the magnetic pattern are included.
- a region MG3 having a magnetic pattern is located on the detection line La of the banknote 13.
- the ratio of the area MG3 is small in the entire detection line La. For this reason, when the pattern presence / absence is evaluated by the method of the first embodiment, it is not determined that the detection line La has a magnetic pattern (greater than TH2). As a result, appropriate processing is not performed on the region MG3 having the magnetic pattern.
- the region MG3 is a portion that includes many signal components.
- the presence or absence of a pattern component is determined for each detection element 11. Therefore, the detection element 11 corresponding to the region MG3 is processed as having a magnetic pattern when the signal component corresponding to the magnetic pattern is large. The detection elements 11 other than the portion corresponding to the region MG3 are processed as having no magnetic pattern.
- the updated correction data d42 (i) is close to the correction data d44 (i) determined based on the detection data d3 (i) of the past detection line La. Value.
- the updated correction data d42 (i) has a value close to the detection data d3 (i).
- the information reading apparatus 110 By subtracting the updated correction data d42 (i) obtained in this way from the detection data d3 (i), detection data d4 (i) after correction of the DC component is obtained.
- the information reading apparatus 110 does not lose the signal component corresponding to the magnetic pattern where the magnetic pattern exists (region MG3).
- the information reading device 110 obtains corrected detection data d4 (i) that is aligned with the level of the target value TGT where there is no magnetic pattern (a region other than the region MG3).
- the configuration other than the above-described part can be the same as that of the first embodiment.
- an external signal indicating that is defined during the magnetic pattern detection invalid period is the weighting factors K4 (j) and K42 (j) based on the detection enable signal d2.
- the weighting factors K4 (j) and K42 (j) may be determined based on the correction data d44 (i) and the detection data d3 (i) even in the invalid period of magnetic pattern detection.
- Embodiment 1 it demonstrated as what moves the banknote 13 with the conveyance belt 14.
- FIG. 1 the line sensor 12 may be moved instead of the conveyor belt 14. In short, it is only necessary to cause relative movement between the detection object and the line sensor 12, and it is sufficient to provide means for causing relative movement. The same applies to the second and third embodiments.
- the present invention can also be applied when the detection object is a paper sheet other than banknotes.
- the paper sheet is not limited to paper as long as it has the same shape as the paper sheet.
- the present invention can also be applied to an apparatus that detects an image pattern other than a magnetic pattern.
- the image pattern is not limited to the image pattern as long as it is the same pattern as the image pattern.
- the present invention can also be applied to an image sensor device having a plurality of light receiving elements.

Kmax
d42(i)=K44(j)×d44(i)+K3(j)×d3(i) (4)
図9(a)及び図10(a)は、それぞれ副走査方向YのラインMSa,MSbについての検出データd3(i)(i=a、b)を示す。
図9(b)及び図10(b)は、副走査方向YのラインMSa,MSbについての更新された補正データd42(i)(i=a、b)を示している。
図9(c)及び図9(c)は、副走査方向YのラインMSa,MSbについての直流成分の補正後の検出データd4(i)(i=a、b)を示している。
