Abstract

Description
開示の実施形態は、力センサおよび力センサを有するロボットに関する。
褥瘡の原因の一つとして、身体に作用するせん断力(摩擦)が挙げられる。たとえば、ベッドを傾斜させると、身体とベッドの間にせん断力が生じ、これによって褥瘡が生じる場合がある。
このため、近年では、せん断力を検出するための力センサを褥瘡防止マットレス等の寝具に内蔵し、身体と寝具との間に生じるせん断力を検出する試みがなされている(たとえば、特許文献1参照)。
しかしながら、上述した従来技術には、せん断力を簡易な構成で検出するという点でさらなる改善の余地があった。
実施形態の一態様は、せん断力を簡易な構成で検出することのできる力センサおよび力センサを有するロボットを提供することを目的とする。
実施形態の一態様に係る力センサは、発光部と、一対の第1光検出部と、反射部と、第1フレームとを備える。発光部は、拡散光を照射する。一対の第1光検出部は、第1方向において前記発光部を挟んで配置される。反射部は、前記発光部の光軸上において前記発光部に対して対向配置され、前記発光部から照射される拡散光を前記一対の第1光検出部側へ反射する。第1フレームは、前記反射部による前記拡散光の反射先を、前記第1方向へ変位可能に変形する。
実施形態の一態様によれば、身体と寝具等との間に生じるせん断力を簡易な構成で検出することができる。
以下、添付図面を参照して、本願の開示する力センサおよび力センサを有するロボットの実施形態を詳細に説明する。なお、以下に示す実施形態によりこの発明が限定されるものではない。
(第1の実施形態)

変位センサ20は、発光部21と、光検出部22とを備える。発光部21は、拡散光、具体的には拡散レーザ光を照射する。かかる発光部21としては、たとえば垂直共振器面発光レーザ(Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser、VCSEL)を用いることができる。なお、垂直共振器面発光レーザとは、共振器を半導体基板と垂直に作り込んだ面発光レーザである。
光検出部22は、ミラー40によって反射された拡散レーザ光を検出する。光検出部22としては、たとえばフォトダイオードを用いることができる。なお、ミラー40は、可変フレーム30と一体に形成されてもよい。
ここで、発光部21および光検出部22の配置について図2を参照して説明する。図2は、変位センサ20の模式平面図である。
図2に示すように、変位センサ20は、中央に発光部21が配置され、かかる発光部21の四方に光検出部22a~22dがそれぞれ配置される。図2に示す例では、光検出部22b,22dが第1方向(ここでは、X軸正方向)に沿って、光検出部22b→光検出部22dの順に並べて配置され、光検出部22a,22cが第2方向(ここでは、Y軸正方向)に沿って、光検出部22c→光検出部22aの順に並べて配置される。以下では、光検出部22b,22dを第1光検出部22b,22d、光検出部22a,22cを第2光検出部22a,22cと称することがある。
なお、変位センサ20の大きさは、たとえば、縦横それぞれ約3.0mm、厚さ約1.6mmである。
つづいて、可変フレーム30およびミラー40の構成について図1、図3Aおよび図3Bを参照して説明する。図3Aは、可変フレーム30の模式斜視図である。また、図3Bは、可変フレーム30の模式背面図である。
可変フレーム30は、図1に示すように、変位センサ20の上方を覆う側面視略台形状の部材である。具体的には、可変フレーム30は、鉛直方向(Z軸方向)に対して傾斜した支持部31a,31bと、両端部において支持部31a,31bとそれぞれ連接し、支持部31a,31bによって水平に支持された天井部32とを備える。なお、図1に示す例では、支持部31aが鉛直方向に対してX軸正方向側に傾斜し、支持部31bが鉛直方向に対してX軸負方向側に傾斜している。
かかる可変フレーム30は、支持部31a,31bと天井部32との連接部、つまり、可変フレーム30の角部に自由度を有しており、X軸方向に力が加わると変形して天井部32が傾斜するように構成される。
すなわち、可変フレーム30は、支持部31a,31bと天井部32とが直角以外の角度で連接されるため、X軸方向に力が加わった場合に、支持部31aと天井部32との連接位置の高さと、支持部31bと天井部32との連接位置の高さとに差が生じて天井部32が傾斜する。
このように、可変フレーム30は、発光部21と対向する対向面32aを有する天井部32と、一対の光検出部22b,22dの配列方向に沿って配置され、天井部32と直角以外の角度で連接して天井部32を支持する一対の支持部31a,31bとを備える。そして、可変フレーム30は、天井部32と支持部31a,31bとの連接部が一対の光検出部22b,22dの配列方向に自由度を有する。
なお、支持部31aのX軸負方向側および支持部31bのX軸正方向側には、可変フレーム30を基台10に固定するための固定部33がそれぞれ形成されている(図3A参照)。
ミラー40は、可変フレーム30における天井部32の背面(発光部21と対向する対向面32a)に取り付けられて(図3B参照)、変位センサ20の発光部21の直上に配置される。かかるミラー40は、変位センサ20の発光部21から照射されたレーザを反射させ、光検出部22a~22dへ入射させる。
なお、天井部32の大きさは、たとえば、縦横約6×18mmである。また、可変フレーム30の高さ(固定部33から天井部32までの距離)は、たとえば、4mmである。
第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1は上記のように構成されており、たとえば褥瘡防止マットレスなどの寝具やクッション等の内部に埋め込まれ、寝具等と身体との間に生じるせん断力を検出する。
次に、力センサ1によるせん断力の検出原理について図4Aおよび図4Bを用いて説明する。図4Aおよび図4Bは、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1によるせん断力の検出原理の説明図である。なお、ここでは、光検出部22bおよび光検出部22dを用いてX軸方向に作用するせん断力を検出する場合の検出原理について説明する。
図4Aの上図に示すように、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1は、発光部21から拡散レーザ光を照射させ、かかる拡散レーザ光をミラー40で反射させる。これにより、拡散レーザ光の反射光が変位センサ20上に照射される。
光検出部22a~22dは、図4Aの下図に示すように、拡散レーザ光の反射光の照射領域Rと部分的に重複する位置に配置されており、受光した反射光の強度をそれぞれ検出する。なお、図4Aに示すように、可変フレーム30の天井部32が水平に支持された状態において、照射領域Rの中心は、発光部21の中心と一致する。また、この状態において、光検出部22a~22dの各々は、照射領域Rと均等に重複する。
つづいて、図4Bの上図に示すように、可変フレーム30の天井部32にX軸負方向のせん断力が印加されると、天井部32が傾斜する。天井部32が傾斜すると、天井部32に設けられたミラー40が傾斜して、拡散レーザ光による反射光の反射先となる照射領域Rの位置が変位する(図4Bの下図参照)。
照射領域Rの位置が変位すると、光検出部22bと照射領域Rとが重複する範囲と、光検出部22dと照射領域Rとが重複する範囲とに差が生じるため、光検出部22bおよび光検出部22dは、異なる強度の反射光を検出することとなる。
力センサ1では、かかる反射光の強度差からミラー40の傾きを算出する。具体的には、光検出部22bからの出力値をP2、光検出部22dからの出力値をP4とすると、ミラー40の傾きを示す値Sは、S=(P2-P4)/(P2+P4)で表される。
また、力センサ1は、算出した値Sをせん断力に変換して出力する変換処理部を備える。変換処理部は、値Sからせん断力への変換式、あるいは、値Sとせん断力とが対応付けられたテーブルを用いて値Sをせん断力へ変換する。これら変換式やテーブル値は、実測あるいは構造計算等により決定される。
可変フレーム30に印加されるせん断力が大きくなるほど、天井部32が大きく傾斜するため、ミラー40の傾斜角が増大する。そして、ミラー40の傾斜角が増大すると、光検出部22bおよび光検出部22dからの出力値の差が大きくなり、値Sの絶対値が大きくなる。このように、可変フレーム30に印加されるせん断力と値Sとは比例関係にあり、力センサ1は、値Sを検出することによって可変フレーム30に印加されるせん断力を検出することができる。
かかる点について図5A,図5Bおよび図6を用いてより具体的に説明する。図5Aは、力伝達体が取り付けられた力センサ1の模式側面図であり、図5Bは、力伝達体および可変フレーム30の模式斜視図である。また、図6は、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1に対して、せん断力を-40Nから40Nまで5Nごとに上昇させつつ印加した場合の値Sの変化を示している。
なお、図5Aおよび図5Bに示すように、ここでは、可変フレーム30の天井部32にせん断力が正確に印加されるように、天井部32の上部に力伝達体50を取り付けている。力伝達体50は、直方体状の物体であり、外部から受けた力を可変フレーム30の天井部32へ伝達する。つまり、力伝達体50が押されることにより、可変フレーム30の天井部32に表面せん断力が印加される。
また、ここでは、X軸負方向に作用するせん断力を正で表している。したがって、たとえばX軸正方向へ印加される40Nのせん断力は、「-40N」で表される。
図6に示すように、力伝達体50をX軸負方向に押した場合、すなわち、可変フレーム30の天井部32にX軸負方向のせん断力を加えた場合、値Sは、せん断力の増加に伴って直線的に増加した。これは、天井部32にX軸負方向の力を加えることで、ミラー40が傾斜して照射領域R(図4A参照)がX軸負方向側に移動した結果、光検出部22bからの出力値P2が光検出部22dからの出力値P4よりも大きくなったためである。
一方、力伝達体50をX軸正方向に押した場合、すなわち、可変フレーム30の天井部32にX軸正方向の力を加えた場合、値Sは、せん断力の増加に伴って直線的に減少した。これは、天井部32にX軸正方向の力を加えることで、ミラー40が傾斜して照射領域R(図4A参照)がX軸正方向側に移動した結果、光検出部22bからの出力値P2が光検出部22dからの出力値P4よりも小さくなったためである。
このように、可変フレーム30の天井部32に対して一方(ここでは、X軸負方向)からせん断力を印加した場合、せん断力の増加にともなって値Sが直線的に増加し、他方(ここでは、X軸正方向)からせん断力を印加した場合には直線的に減少した。これらの結果から、力センサ1を用いることによってせん断力の方向および大きさを検出できることがわかる。
上述してきたように、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1は、発光部21と、変位センサ20と、可変フレーム30と、ミラー40とを備える。発光部21は、拡散光を照射する。変位センサ20は、第1方向において発光部21を挟んで配置される一対の第1光検出部22b,22dを備える。
可変フレーム30は、発光部21の光軸上において発光部21と対向する対向面32aを備えるとともに、発光部21の設置面である基台10に固定され、一対の第1光検出部22b,22dの配列方向に自由度を有する。ミラー40は、可変フレーム30の発光部21と対向する対向面32aに設けられ、発光部21から照射される拡散光を一対の第1光検出部22b,22d側へ反射する。
言い換えれば、ミラー40は、発光部21の光軸上において発光部21に対して対向配置され、発光部21から照射される拡散光を一対の第1光検出部22b,22d側へ反射する。可変フレーム30は、発光部21の光軸上において発光部21に対して対向配置される対向面32aにミラー40が設けられて発光部21の設置面である基台10に固定されるとともに、ミラー40による拡散光の反射先を、第1方向へ変位可能に変形する。したがって、実施形態に係る力センサ1によれば、身体と寝具等との間に生じるせん断力を簡易な構成で検出することができる。
また、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1は、変位センサ20を用いることとした。変位センサ20は、圧電センサと比較して温度によるバラつきや個体差も少ない。したがって、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1によれば、圧電センサを用いる力センサと比較して、せん断力を外部環境や個体差に寄らず正確に検出することができる。
なお、可変フレーム30は鉛直方向にも自由度を有しており、力センサ1は、せん断力に加え押圧力を検出することも可能である。かかる点について図7を参照して説明する。図7は、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1による押圧力の検出原理の説明図である。
図7に示すように、力センサ1は、鉛直下方(Z軸負方向)に押されると、支持部31a,31bが撓み、天井部32およびミラー40が水平に支持された状態で変位センサ20に近づく。この結果、各光検出部22a~22dが拡散レーザ光の反射を受光する面積が縮小するため、各光検出部22a~22dからの出力値は均一に減少する。
このように、ミラー40が変位センサ20に近づくほど、言い換えれば、力センサ1が受ける鉛直向きの押圧力が大きくなるほど、各光検出部22a~22dからの出力値は均一に減少する。したがって、力センサ1は、各光検出部22a~22dからの出力値に基づいて押圧力を検出することが可能である。
また、力センサ1は、せん断力、押圧力に加え、トルクを検出することも可能である。かかる点について図8、図9Aおよび図9Bを参照して説明する。ここでは、一例として、車両のステアリングホイール(以下、「ハンドル」と記載する)に対して回転方向へ力を加えて、ステアリングシャフト(以下、「シャフト」と記載する)へ掛るトルクを検出する場合について説明する。なお、力センサ1の検出対象となるトルクは、シャフトへ掛るトルクに限定されるものではない。
図8は、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1をトルクの検出に用いた適用例を示す説明図であり、図9Aおよび図9Bは、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1によるトルクの検出原理の説明図である。
図8に示すように、ハンドル100に対して回転方向へ力を加えて、シャフト101へ掛るトルクを検出する場合、力センサ1は、シャフト101とステアリングスポーク(以下「スポーク102」と記載する)との間に設けられる。
これにより、力センサ1の天井部32(図1参照)には、ハンドル100に対して回転方向へ加えられる力が、シャフト101を回転させるトルクとなって掛るため、シャフト101に掛るトルクを力センサ1によって検出することが可能となる。
例えば、図9Aに示すように、力センサ1の天井部32からハンドル100のZ軸正方向における端部(以下、「最上部」と記載する)までの距離がrであった場合に、ハンドル100の最上部にX軸負方向へ力Fを加える。このとき、スポーク102には、ハンドル100からスポーク102を反時計回に回転させようとする力が加わり、力センサ1の天井部32には、スポーク102から天井面32を反時計回りに回転させようとする大きさF×rのトルクが掛る。
これにより、図9Bに示すように、可変フレーム30は、ミラー40による拡散光の反射先を、X軸正方向へ変位させるように変形する。具体的には、支持部31aが図9Aに示す状態から時計回りに傾動し、支持部31bが図9Aに示す状態から反時計回りに傾動し、天井部32が図9Aに示す水平状態からX軸負方向へ向けて下り勾配となる傾斜状態に変位する。
その結果、ミラー40による拡散光の反射先が図9Aに示す状態からX軸正方向へ変位するので、光検出部22bによる反射光の受光強度が低下するとともに、光検出部22dによる反射光の受光強度が上昇する。つまり、光検出部22bおよび光検出部22dによる反射光の受光強度に差が生じる。
かかる受光強度の差は、ミラー40の傾斜角である傾きが大きくなるほど増大する。そして、ミラー40の傾きは、力センサ1の天井部32に掛るトルクが増大するほど大きくなる。したがって、力センサ1によれば、光検出部22bおよび光検出部22dによる反射光の受光強度の差に基づいて、ミラー40の傾きを算出することにより、天井部32に掛るトルクを検出することができる。
なお、ミラー40の傾きを算出する方法には、せん断力を検出する際に使用したミラー40の傾きを示す値Sの算出式S=(P2-P4)/(P2+P4)を用いることができる。そして、算出した値Sをせん断力に変換する場合には、値Sからトルクへの変換式、あるいは、値Sとせん断力とが対応付けられたテーブルを用いて値Sをせん断力へ変換する。これら変換式やテーブル値は、実測あるいは構造計算等により決定される。
ただし、図9Bと図4Bとを参照すれば分かるように、力センサ1に対してトルクが掛る場合と、せん断力が掛る場合とでは、トルクまたはせん断力の掛る方向が同じ場合に、ミラー40の傾斜方向が逆となる。
例えば、図4Bに示すように、力センサ1に対してX軸負方向のせん断力が掛る場合、ミラー40は、X軸正方向へ向けて下り勾配となる。一方、図9Bに示すように、力センサ1に対してX軸負方向のトルクが掛る場合、ミラー40は、X軸負方向へ向けて下り勾配となる。
このため、上記値Sの算出式を用いてトルクを検出する場合には、力センサ1に対して、X軸正方向に作用するトルク、つまり、ハンドル100が時計方向へ回転される場合のトルクを正とする必要がある。一方、力センサ1に対して、X軸負方向に作用するトルク、つまり、ハンドル100が反時計回りに回転される場合のトルクを負とする。
このように、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1は、シャフト101に対してシャフト101を回転させる力が加えられるスポーク102と、シャフト101との間に設けられることで、シャフト101に掛るトルクを検出することができる。なお、力センサ1は、任意の回転体と、回転体に対して回転力を印加する部材との間に設けられることで、任意の回転体に掛るトルクを検出することができる。
また、力センサ1は、可変フレーム30の材質や、可変フレーム30の天井部32と支持部31a,31bとのなす内角を変更することで、トルクの検出感度や測定範囲を変更することができる。
次に、かかる点について、図10、図11A、図11B、図12A、および図12Bを参照して説明する。ここでは、材質、および天井部32と支持部31a,31bとのなす内角が異なる可変フレーム30を用い、各可変フレーム30が設けられた力センサ1によってトルクを検出する実験の結果を参照しながら説明する。
図10は、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1によるトルクの検出実験条件の一例を示す説明図であり、図11A~図12Bは、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1によるトルクの検出実験結果の一例を示す説明図である。
トルクの検出実験では、図10に示すように、(a)~(d)の4つの実験条件で力センサ1によるトルクの検出を行った。具体的には、実験条件(a)および(b)では、ステンレス製の可変フレーム30を用い、実験条件(c)および(d)では、銅製の可変フレーム30を用いた。図10に示すヤング率から分かるように、銅製の可変フレーム30は、ステンレス製の可変フレーム30よりも高い弾性を有する。
また、実験条件(a)では、可変フレーム30の天井部32と支持部31aとのなす内角を105°、可変フレーム30の天井部32と支持部31bとのなす内角を110°とした。また、実験条件(b)では、可変フレーム30の天井部32と支持部31aとのなす内角を115°、可変フレーム30の天井部32と支持部31bとのなす内角を120°とした。
また、実験条件(c)では、可変フレーム30の天井部32と支持部31aとのなす内角を111°、可変フレーム30の天井部32と支持部31bとのなす内角を112°とした。また、実験条件(d)では、可変フレーム30の天井部32と支持部31aとのなす内角を118°、可変フレーム30の天井部32と支持部31bとのなす内角を122°とした。なお、ここでは、可変フレーム30の天井部32と支持部31a、31bとのなす内角が90°よりも大きいことを前提とする。
そして、実験条件(a)および(b)では、力センサ1へ-0.3[Nm]~0.3[Nm]のトルクを掛けて検出させ、実験条件(c)および(d)では、力センサ1へ-0.2[Nm]~0.2[Nm]のトルクを掛けて検出させた。
なお、力センサ1は、ハンドル100に対して時計回り方向の力が加えられた場合に、正のトルクを検出し、ハンドル100に対して反時計回り方向の力が加えられた場合に、負のトルクを検出する。
図11Aおよび図11Bにおける丸点は、実験条件(a)での実験結果であり、三角点は、実験条件(b)での実験結果である。また、図12Aおよび図12Bにおける丸点は、実験条件(c)での実験結果であり、三角点は、実験条件(d)での実験結果である。なお、図11A~図12Bに示すグラフの横軸は、力センサ1へ加えるトルクであり、縦軸は、ミラー40の傾きを示す値Sである。
図11A~図12Bに示すように、可変フレーム30は、材質が同一の場合、天井部32と支持部31a,31bとのなす内角が大きいほど、加えられるトルクの変化量に対する天井部32の傾斜角の変化量が大きい。つまり、力センサ1は、可変フレーム30の材質が同一の場合、天井部32と支持部31a,31bとの内角が大きいほど、トルクの検出感度が高くなる。
また、可変フレーム30は、材質が同一の場合、天井部32と支持部31a,31bとのなす内角が小さいほど、天井部32の傾斜角度の範囲が大きくなる。つまり、力センサ1は、材質が同一の場合、天井部32と支持部31a,31bとのなす内角が小さいほど、トルクの測定範囲が大きくなる。
また、可変フレーム30は、材質が異なる場合、弾性が高い材質であるほど、同じ大きさのトルクを掛けた際に天井部32が大きく傾斜する。つまり、力センサ1は、材質が異なる場合、弾性が高い材質であるほど、トルクの検出感度が高くなる。
このように、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1は、可変フレーム30の材質や、可変フレーム30の天井部32と支持部31a,31bとのなす内角を変更することで、トルクの検出感度や測定範囲を変更することができる。
また、力センサ1の感度を変更する方法は、これに限定されるものではない。図13は、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1を高感度化する可変フレーム30aの模式側面図である。図13に示すように、可変フレーム30aは、天井部32と支持部31a,31bとの接合部に、他の部位よりも肉薄な肉薄部31c,31dを備える。
かかる可変フレーム30aによれば、肉薄部31c,31dの厚さが薄く形成されるほど、小さなトルクで天井部32が傾斜する。つまり、可変フレーム30aを備える力センサ1は、可変フレーム30aにおける肉薄部31c,31dの厚さが変更されることで感度が変更され、肉薄部31c,31dの厚さが薄くなるほど、トルクの検出感度が高くなる。
なお、ここでは、可変フレーム30の材質や形状を変更することで、力センサ1によるトルクの検出感度および測定範囲が変更可能な点について説明したが、可変フレーム30の材質や形状を変更することで、せん断力の検出感度および測定範囲も変更可能である。
例えば、せん断力を検出する場合、力センサ1は、トルクを検出する場合とは逆に、天井部32と支持部31a,31bとのなす内角が小さいほど、せん断力の検出感度が高くなる。また、力センサ1は、可変フレーム30の材質として用いる材質の弾性が高いほど、せん断力の検知感度が高くなる。
なお、可変フレーム31aを備える力センサ1は、トルクを検出する場合と同様に、肉薄部31c,31dの厚さが厚いほど、せん断力の検知感度が高くなる。
測定範囲については、せん断力を検出する場合も、トルクを検出する場合と同様に、力センサ1は、天井部32と支持部31a,31bとのなす内角が小さいほど、測定範囲が大きくなる。
(第2の実施形態)
変位センサ20は、発光部21から照射される拡散レーザ光の出力をフィードバックするためのモニタ用光検出部をさらに備えてもよい。以下では、変位センサ20がモニタ用光検出部を備える場合の例について図14を参照して説明する。図14は、第2の実施形態に係る力センサの模式側面図である。なお、以下の説明では、既に説明した部分と同様の部分については、既に説明した部分と同一の符号を付し、重複する説明を省略する。
変位センサ20は、発光部21から照射される拡散レーザ光の出力をフィードバックするためのモニタ用光検出部をさらに備えてもよい。以下では、変位センサ20がモニタ用光検出部を備える場合の例について図14を参照して説明する。図14は、第2の実施形態に係る力センサの模式側面図である。なお、以下の説明では、既に説明した部分と同様の部分については、既に説明した部分と同一の符号を付し、重複する説明を省略する。
図14に示すように、第2の実施形態に係る力センサ1Aは、第1の実施形態に係る変位センサ20に代えて、変位センサ20Aを備える。また、第2の実施形態に係る力センサ1Aは、カバー体60をさらに備える。
カバー体60は、変位センサ20Aを密閉する箱状の透明部材である。かかるカバー体60によって変位センサ20Aを密閉することにより、発光部21からの拡散レーザ光を透過させつつ、変位センサ20Aの防湿性、気密性等を確保することができる。カバー体60の天井部には、たとえば金箔などの反射部材61が設けられる。
変位センサ20Aは、変位センサ20が備える構成に加えて、モニタ用光検出部23をさらに備える。モニタ用光検出部23としては、たとえばフォトダイオードを用いることができる。モニタ用光検出部23は、発光部21の近傍に配置され、カバー体60の反射部材61によって反射された拡散レーザ光の強度を検出する。
このように、第2の実施形態に係る力センサ1Aによれば、発光部21から照射され反射部材61によって反射された拡散レーザ光をモニタ用光検出部23で検出することにより、拡散レーザ光の出力をフィードバックすることができる。これにより、拡散レーザ光の温度や寿命等による出力変化を監視することができる。
(第3の実施形態)
上述してきた各実施形態では、X軸方向に沿って配置された第1光検出部22b,22dを用いて、X軸方向に沿って作用するせん断力を検出する場合の例について説明した。しかしながら、本願の開示する力センサは、上述した検出原理を適用し、第2光検出部22a,22cをさらに用いることで、X軸方向のみならずY軸方向に作用するせん断力を検出することも可能である。
上述してきた各実施形態では、X軸方向に沿って配置された第1光検出部22b,22dを用いて、X軸方向に沿って作用するせん断力を検出する場合の例について説明した。しかしながら、本願の開示する力センサは、上述した検出原理を適用し、第2光検出部22a,22cをさらに用いることで、X軸方向のみならずY軸方向に作用するせん断力を検出することも可能である。
かかる場合には、上述した可変フレーム30に代えて、X軸方向およびY軸方向の両方向に変形可能な可変フレームを用いればよい。そこで、以下では、X軸方向およびY軸方向に変形可能な可変フレームの構成の一例について図15を参照して説明する。図15は、第3の実施形態に係る可変フレームの模式斜視図である。
図15に示すように、第3の実施形態に係る可変フレーム70は、X軸方向に自由度を有する第1フレーム80と、Y軸方向に自由度を有する第2フレーム90とが上下に積層された構成を有する。
第1フレーム80および第2フレーム90の基本的な構成は、第1の実施形態および第2の実施形態に係る可変フレーム30と同様である。すなわち、第1フレーム80は、鉛直方向(Z軸方向)に対して傾斜した第1脚部(以下、「支持部81a,81b」と記載する)と、支持部81a,81bによって水平に支持された天井部82とを備える。かかる天井部82は、発光部21の光軸上において発光部21と対向するように支持部81a,81bによって支持される第1対向面82aを備える。
また、第2フレーム90は、鉛直方向(Z軸方向)に対して傾斜した第2脚部(以下、「支持部91a,91b」と記載する)と、支持部91a,91bによって水平に支持された天井部92とを備える。かかる天井部92は、発光部21の光軸上において発光部21と対向するように支持部91a,91bによって支持される第2対向面92aを備える。
第1フレーム80は、支持部81a,81bがX軸方向に沿って配置される。このため、第1フレーム80は、X軸方向に力が加わった場合に、X軸方向に沿って変形する。また、第2フレーム90は、支持部91a,91bがY軸方向に沿って配置されるため、Y軸方向に力が加わった場合に、Y軸方向に沿って変形する。
また、第1フレーム80の天井部82には、開口部83が形成され、第2フレーム90の天井部92には、ミラー93が設けられる。これにより、可変フレーム70は、変位センサ20,20Aの発光部21から照射された拡散レーザ光を開口部83を介してミラー93へ入射させるとともに、ミラー93からの反射光を変位センサ20,20Aへ反射させることができる。
このように、可変フレーム70では、ミラー93が、第1フレーム80および第2フレーム90によって支持され、発光部21の光軸上において発光部21に対向配置されて拡散光を反射する。
そして、第1フレーム80は、ミラー93による拡散光の反射先を、X軸方向へ変位可能に変形する。また、第2フレーム90は、ミラー93による拡散光の反射先を、Y軸方向へ変位可能に変形する。
かかる可変フレーム70を備えることにより、力センサは、X軸方向およびY軸方向の両方向についてせん断力を検出することが可能となる。すなわち、X軸方向に力が加わった場合には、可変フレーム70の第1フレーム80がミラー93による拡散光の反射先を、Y軸方向へ変位させるように変形するため、光検出部22b,22d(図2参照)によってX軸方向に作用するせん断力を検出することができる。
また、Y軸方向に力が加わった場合には、可変フレーム70の第2フレーム90がミラー93による拡散光の反射先を、Y軸方向へ変位させるように変形するため、光検出部22a,22c(図2参照)によってY軸方向に作用するせん断力を検出することができる。
なお、第3の実施形態では、第1フレーム80の天井部82によって第2フレーム90を支持する可変フレーム70を設けることで、直交する2方向のせん断力を検出可能としたが、直交する2方向のせん断力を検出可能な可変フレームは、これに限定されない。かかる点については、第4の実施形態において説明する。
(第4の実施形態)
図16は、第4の実施形態に係る力センサ1Bの模式斜視図であり、図17は、第4の実施形態に係る力センサ1Bの模式分解斜視図である。図16に示すように、力センサ1Bは、第3の実施形態に記載の可変フレーム70とは形状の異なる第1フレーム8と、第2フレーム9とを備える。
図16は、第4の実施形態に係る力センサ1Bの模式斜視図であり、図17は、第4の実施形態に係る力センサ1Bの模式分解斜視図である。図16に示すように、力センサ1Bは、第3の実施形態に記載の可変フレーム70とは形状の異なる第1フレーム8と、第2フレーム9とを備える。
かかる力センサ1Bにおいても、第2フレーム9は、第1フレーム8に積層される。ただし、第3の実施形態では、第2フレーム90が第1フレーム80の天井部82によって支持されていたのに対し、第4の実施形態では、第2フレーム9が第1フレーム8の天井部84よりも力センサ1Bの設置面側で、第1フレーム8によって支持される。これにより、力センサ1Bは、Z軸方向の厚さをさらに薄型化することができる。
具体的には、図17に示すように、力センサ1Bは、変位センサ20と、第1フレーム8と、第2フレーム9とを備える。変位センサ20は、力センサ1Bの設置面103に設置される。なお、変位センサ20は、第1の実施形態で説明したものと同一構成であるため、ここでは、第1の実施形態に記載した符号と同一の符号を付することにより、その説明を省略する。
第1フレーム8は、発光部21の設置面103に固定される一対の第1脚部86a,86bと、発光部21の光軸上において発光部21と対向するように第1脚部86a,86bによって支持される第1対向面84aを有する天井部84とを備える。
第1脚部86a,86bは、第1対向面84aにおける第1方向(ここでは、X軸方向)の両側に設けられる。また、第1対向面84aには、発光部21の光軸と交わる位置を含む領域に、開口部85が設けられる。
さらに、第1フレーム8は、第1対向面84aにおける第2方向(ここでは、Y軸方向)の両側に設けられる一対の連結腕部88a,88bを備える。連結腕部88a,88bは、第1対向面84aから設置面103側へ向けて下り勾配となるように設けられる。
かかる第1フレーム8は、第1脚部86a,86bの下端部87a,87bによって設置面103に固定される。設置面103に固定された場合、第1フレーム8の連結腕部88a,88bは、下端部89a,89bが設置面103から浮いた状態となる。
第2フレーム9は、第1フレーム8に連結される一対の第2脚部96a,96bと、発光部21の光軸上において第1対向面84aの開口部85を介して発光部21と対向するように第2脚部96a,96bによって支持される第2対向面94aとを備える。
第2脚部96a,96bは、第2対向面94aにおける第2方向の両側に設けられ、下端部97a,97bが第1対向面84aよりも発光部21の設置面103側で第1フレーム8の連結腕部88a,88bの下端部89a,89bに連結される。また、力センサ1Bの反射部となるミラー95は、第2対向面94aにおける発光部21の光軸と交わる位置を含む領域に設けられる。
そして、力センサ1Bでは、第2フレーム9の天井部94に第1方向のせん断力が加わる場合、第1フレームがミラー95による拡散光の反射先を第1方向に変位させるように変形する。一方、第2フレーム9の天井部94に第2方向のせん断力が加わる場合、力センサ1Bでは、第2フレーム9がミラー95による拡散光の反射先を第2方向へ変位させるように変形する。次に、かかる力センサ1Bの動作について、図18A~図19Bを参照して説明する。
図18A、図18B、図19A、および図19Bは、第4の実施形態に係る力センサ1Bの動作を示す模式側面図である。図18Aに示すように、X軸方向のせん断力が加わっていない場合、第1フレーム8の天井部84および第2フレーム9の天井部94は、設置面103に対して平行な姿勢を維持する。これにより、ミラー95は、拡散光の反射光が第1光検出部22b,22dの各受光領域と均等に一部重複するように拡散光を反射する。
そして、第1フレーム8は、図18Bに示すように、第2フレーム9の天井部94に、例えば、X軸負方向のせん断力Fが加わると、ミラー95による拡散光の反射先を、X軸負方向へ変位させるように変形する。
具体的には、第2フレーム9の天井部94に、X軸負方向のせん断力Fが加わると、第2フレーム9の天井部94は、X軸負方向へ移動する。ここで、第2フレーム9は、第2脚部96a,96bの下端部97a,97bが、第1フレーム8の連結腕部88a,88bに連結されて第1フレーム8に固定されている。このとき、連結腕部88a,88bは、設置面103から浮いた状態である。
このため、第1フレーム8の天井部84は、第2フレーム9の天井部94とともに、X軸負方向へ移動する。ここで、第1フレーム8の第1脚部86a,86bは、下端部87a,87bが設置面103に固定されている。したがって、第1フレーム8の天井部84がX軸負方向へ移動すると、第1フレーム8の第1脚部86a,86bが、ともに長さを維持した状態で反時計方向へ傾動する。
これに伴って第1対向面84aおよび第2対向面94aがX軸正方向へ向けて下り勾配となるように傾動するので、ミラー95による拡散光の反射先がX軸負方向へ変位する。つまり、第1フレーム8では、直角以外の角度で連接される第1脚部86a,86bと第1対向面84aとの連接部86cが、X軸負方向のせん断力によって、ミラー95による拡散光の反射先をX軸負方向へ変位させるように変形する。
その結果、各第1光検出部22b,22dによって受光される拡散光の受光強度に差が生じるので、力センサ1Bは、かかる受光強度の差に基づき、第1の実施形態と同様の原理によってX軸方向に作用するせん断力を検出することができる。
また、図19Aに示すように、Y軸方向のせん断力が加わっていない場合、第1フレーム8の天井部84および第2フレーム9の天井部94は、設置面103に対して平行な姿勢を維持する。これにより、ミラー95は、拡散光の反射光が第2光検出部22c,22aの各受光領域と均等に一部重複するように拡散光を反射する。
そして、第2フレーム9は、図19Bに示すように、第2フレーム9の天井部94に、例えば、Y軸負方向のせん断力Fが加わると、ミラー95による拡散光の反射先を、Y軸負方向へ変位させるように変形する。
具体的には、第2フレーム9の天井部94に、Y軸負方向のせん断力Fが加わると、第2フレーム9の天井部94は、Y軸負方向へ移動する。ここで、第2フレーム9は、第2脚部96a,96bの下端部97a,97bが、第1フレーム8の連結腕部88a,88bに連結されて第1フレーム8に固定されている。そして、第1フレーム8は、第1脚部86a,86bの下端部87a,87bが設置面103に固定されている。
このため、第2フレーム9の天井部94は、Y軸負方向へ移動するが、第1フレーム8の天井部84は移動しない。したがって、第2フレーム9の天井部94がY軸負方向へ移動すると、第2フレーム9の第2脚部96a,96bが、ともに長さを維持した状態で反時計方向へ傾動する。
これに伴って第2対向面94aがY軸正方向へ向けて下り勾配となるように傾動するので、ミラー95による拡散光の反射先がY軸負方向へ変位する。つまり、第2フレーム9では、直角以外の角度で連接される第2脚部96a,96bと第2対向面94aとの連接部96cが、Y軸負方向のせん断力Fによって、ミラー95による拡散光の反射先をY軸負方向へ変位させるように変形する。
その結果、各第2光検出部22c,22aによって受光される拡散光の受光強度に差が生じるので、力センサ1Bは、かかる受光強度の差に基づき、第1の実施形態と同様の原理によってY軸方向に作用するせん断力Fを検出することができる。このように、第4の実施形態に係る力センサ1Bによっても、直交する2方向のせん断力を検出することができる。
しかも、力センサ1Bでは、第2フレーム9が第1フレーム8の天井部84よりも力センサ1Bの設置面103側で、第1フレーム8によって支持される。これにより、力センサ1Bは、Z軸方向の厚さをさらに薄型化することができる。
さらに、力センサ1Bは、Z軸方向の厚さがさらに薄型化されるので、低重心化が可能である。したがって、力センサ1Bは、例えば、傾斜した設置面に設けられる場合に、重力による第1フレーム8および第2フレーム9の変形を可及的に抑制することによって、高精度にせん断力を検出することができる。
(第5の実施形態)
次に、第5の実施形態に係る力センサ1Cについて、図20を参照して説明する。図20は、第5の実施形態に係る力センサ1Cの模式斜視図である。図20に示すように、力センサ1Cは、変位センサ20と、第1フレーム30cとを備える。なお、変位センサ20は、第1の実施形態で説明したものと同一構成であるため、ここでは、第1の実施形態に記載した符号と同一の符号を付することにより、その説明を省略する。
次に、第5の実施形態に係る力センサ1Cについて、図20を参照して説明する。図20は、第5の実施形態に係る力センサ1Cの模式斜視図である。図20に示すように、力センサ1Cは、変位センサ20と、第1フレーム30cとを備える。なお、変位センサ20は、第1の実施形態で説明したものと同一構成であるため、ここでは、第1の実施形態に記載した符号と同一の符号を付することにより、その説明を省略する。
第1フレーム30cは、発光部21の光軸上において発光部21に対して対向配置される第1対向面110aを有する天井部110を備える。第1対向面110aには、反射部となるミラー111が設けられる。
さらに、第1フレーム30cは、第1対向面110aを四方から支持するとともに、ミラー111による拡散光の反射先を第1方向(ここでは、X軸方向)、および、第2方向(ここでは、Y軸方向)の両方向にのみ変位可能に変形する脚部112~115を備える。
脚部112,113は、第1対向面110aにおける第1方向の両側に設けられ、各下端部112a、113aが変位センサ20の設置面に固定される。また、脚部114,115は、第1対向面110aにおける第2方向の両側に設けられ、各下端部114a、115aが変位センサ20の設置面に固定される。
このように、第5の実施形態に係る力センサ1Cは、変形可能な4本の脚部112~115によって、ミラー111が設けられる第1対向面110aを変位センサ20と対向するように支持する第1フレーム30cを備える。このように構成した力センサ1Cによっても、直交する2方向のせん断力を検出することができる。
なお、力センサ1Cは、4本の各脚部112~115の形状を変更することによって、せん断力の検出感度を高めることができる。図21は、第5の実施形態に係る力センサ1Cの脚部の変形例を示す説明図である。なお、図21には、4本の脚部のうちの1本を示している。
図21に示すように、変形例に係る力センサ1Cの脚部116は、第1フレーム30cの天井部110から延伸する脚部本体116aと、設置面に固定される下端部116aとの間に、脚部本体116aおよび下端部116bよりも幅狭な連結部116bを備える。
このように、脚部本体116aと下端部116bとの間に、脚部本体116aおよび下端部116bよりも幅狭な連結部116cを設けることにより、天井部110により小さなせん断力が加わる場合であっても、連結部116cが変形する。したがって、かかる脚部116を設けることにより、力センサ1Cによるせん断力の検出感度を、さらに高めることができる。
(その他の実施形態)
上述してきた各実施形態では、可変フレームを側面視略台形状に形成することで、可変フレームにせん断力が印加された場合に可変フレームの天井部が傾斜して、拡散レーザ光の反射光の照射領域Rが変位するようにした(図4A,図4B参照)。

しかしながら、せん断力に応じて照射領域Rを変位させる方法は、上記の方法に限定されない。たとえば、ミラーの反射面を凹状または凸状に形成すれば、可変フレームを側面視略矩形状に形成した場合であっても、言い換えれば、可変フレームの天井部が傾斜しない構成であっても、照射領域Rを変位させることができる。すなわち、可変フレームを側面視略矩形状に形成した場合、可変フレームにせん断力が印加されても可変フレームの天井部は水平状態を保ったまま移動するため傾斜しないが、ミラーの位置が変化することにより拡散レーザ光の反射角度が変化するため、照射領域Rを変位させることができる。
また、上述してきた各実施形態では、変位センサが発光部を備える場合の例、すなわち、変位センサと発光部とが一体的に構成される場合の例を示したが、変位センサと発光部とは、別構成であってもよい。
また、上述してきた実施形態では、第1の実施形態に記載の力センサがトルクを検出可能である点について説明したが、第2~第5の実施形態に記載の力センサについても同様である。つまり、第2~第5の実施形態に記載の力センサは、任意の回転体と、回転体に対して回転力を印加する部材との間に設けられることで、任意の回転体に掛るトルクを検出することができる。
また、上述した各実施形態に係る力センサは、例えば、ロボットに設けられる。図22は、第1の実施形態に係る力センサを有するロボット示す説明図であり、図23は、第1の実施形態に係る力センサを有するロボットのエンドエフェクタ部分を示す説明図である。
図22に示すように、第1の実施形態に係る力センサを有するロボット200は、胴部201と、胴部201の方部から延伸する右腕部202および左腕部203と、右腕部202および左腕部203の各先端部に設けられるエンドエフェクタ204とを備える。右腕部202および左腕部203は、それぞれが6軸の自由度を有するロボットアームである。
エンドエフェクタ204は、図23に示すように、作業対象となるワークを把持する一対の把持爪205を有するロボットハンドである。そして、第1の実施形態に係る力センサ1は、一対の把持爪205の先端部分における互いに対向する面側、つまり、ワークを把持する際にワークと接触する把持面側に設けられる。
また、力センサ1は、天井部32(図1参照)が把持爪205における把持面と面一となり、天井部32が把持面から露出するように把持爪205の内部に埋め込まれる。なお、力センサ1の天井部32は、弾性を有するカバーによって被覆されてもよい。
かかるロボット200によれば、ワークの把持作業中に把持爪205に作用するせん断力を検出することができるので、検出されるせん断力をモニタしながら作業を行うことで、過度なせん断力によるワークの損傷を抑制することができる。
なお、ここでは、右腕部202および左腕部203を備える双腕のロボット200を例に挙げたが、力センサ1が設けられるロボットは、単腕のロボットであってもよい。また、エンドエフェクタ204の把持爪205の本数についても、2本に限定されるものではない。また、ロボット200に設けられるセンサ1は、第1の実施形態に記載のものに限定されるものではなく、上述した各実施形態に記載のものであってもよい。
さらなる効果や変形例は、当業者によって容易に導き出すことができる。このため、本発明のより広範な態様は、以上のように表しかつ記述した特定の詳細および代表的な実施形態に限定されるものではない。したがって、添付の特許請求の範囲およびその均等物によって定義される総括的な発明の概念の精神または範囲から逸脱することなく、様々な変更が可能である。

Claims (10)
- 拡散光を照射する発光部と、
第1方向において前記発光部を挟んで配置される一対の第1光検出部と、
前記発光部の光軸上において前記発光部に対して対向配置され、前記発光部から照射される拡散光を前記一対の第1光検出部側へ反射する反射部と、
前記反射部による前記拡散光の反射先を、前記第1方向へ変位可能に変形する第1フレームと
を備えることを特徴とする力センサ。 - 前記第1方向と直交する第2方向において前記発光部を挟んで配置される一対の第2光検出部と、
前記反射部による前記拡散光の反射先を、前記第2方向へ変位可能に変形する第2フレームと

前記第1対向面に設けられる
