- An A / D 52 is connected to the output side of the MUX 51.
- the CDS 50 has a sample hold circuit, performs correlated double sampling on the output voltage signal of the integration amplifier 49 to remove noise, and holds the output voltage signal of the integration amplifier 49 for a predetermined period (sample hold).
- the MUX 51 selects one CDS 50 with an electronic switch in order from the CDS 50 of each column connected in parallel based on an operation control signal from a shift register (not shown), and outputs voltage signals V 1 to V output from the selected CDS 50.
- Vm is input to the A / D 52 serially.
- An amplifier may be connected between the MUX 51 and the A / D 52.
- the A / D 52 converts the input analog voltage signals V1 to Vm for one row into digital values and outputs them to the memory 54 built in the electronic cassette 13.
- digital values for one row are recorded as image data representing an X-ray image for one row in association with the coordinates of each pixel 41. Thus, reading for one row is completed.
- the control unit 48 When the voltage signals V1 to Vm for one row are read from the integrating amplifier 49 by the MUX 51, the control unit 48 outputs a reset pulse RST to the integrating amplifier 49 and turns on the reset switch 49c. As a result, the signal charge for one row accumulated in the capacitor 49b is discharged and reset. After resetting the integrating amplifier 49, the reset switch 49c is turned off again, and one of the sample hold circuits of the CDS 50 is held after a predetermined time has elapsed, and the kTC noise component of the integrating amplifier 49 is sampled. Thereafter, the gate pulse of the next row is output from the gate driver 46 to start reading the signal charges of the pixels 41 of the next row.
- the signal charge of the pixel 41 in the next row is held by another sample and hold circuit of the CDS 50 after a predetermined time has elapsed. These operations are sequentially repeated to read the signal charges of the pixels 41 in all rows.
- image data representing an X-ray image for one screen is recorded in the memory 54.
- the sensor panel 30 performs an accumulation operation in accordance with the first and second X-ray irradiation start timings of the X-ray source 10, and performs a read operation every time each X-ray irradiation ends. Therefore, the memory 54 records first image data read after the end of the first X-ray irradiation and second image data read after the end of the second X-ray irradiation.
- the first image data and the second image data are read from the memory 54 and subjected to various image processing by the control unit 48.

The charge accumulated in the capacitor 49b is discharged, and the integrating amplifier 49 is reset.
- the irradiation signal I / F 26 of the radiation source control device 11 is wired or wirelessly connected to the irradiation signal I / F 56.
- the irradiation signal I / F 56 mediates transmission / reception of a synchronization signal with the radiation source control device 11. Specifically, the irradiation start request signal is received, the irradiation permission signal is transmitted in response to the irradiation start request signal, and the irradiation stop signal is received.
- the operation unit 48a is stored in the control unit 48. By executing the operation program 48a, various functions shown in FIG.
- the control unit 48 is provided with an image processing unit 60 and an imaging condition determining unit 61.

- the offset correction circuit 62 subtracts the offset correction image acquired from the sensor panel 30 without irradiating the X-ray in units of pixels from the X-ray image, thereby fixing the fixed pattern noise caused by individual differences in the signal processing circuit 47 and the imaging environment. Remove.
- the sensitivity correction circuit 63 is also called a gain correction circuit, and corrects variations in sensitivity of the photoelectric conversion unit 42 of each pixel 41, variations in output characteristics of the signal processing circuit 47, and the like.

- Each correction circuit 62, 63, 64 stores the processed first image data and second image data in the memory 54 after completion of various correction processes.
- the preview image creation circuit 65 reads the first image data that has been subjected to various correction processes from the memory 54, and a plurality of adjacent image data such as 2 rows ⁇ 2 columns, 3 rows ⁇ 3 columns, etc. Considering a pixel as one pixel, adding pixel values of a plurality of adjacent pixels and using this added value as a representative pixel value of a plurality of adjacent pixels, a predetermined row or a predetermined column, or every predetermined location A preview image is created by thinning out pixel values. Note that the preview image is for confirming the success or failure of X-ray imaging, and it is sufficient that a certain level of image quality is ensured. Therefore, the preview image is created based on the first image data before various correction processes are performed. Also good.
- the control unit 48 transmits the preview image to the console 24 via the communication I / F 55.
- the transmission timing of the preview image is before the second X-ray irradiation ends (before the accumulation operation of the sensor panel 30 corresponding to the second X-ray irradiation ends). This is because, when the second X-ray irradiation is completed and the preview image is transmitted during the reading operation of the second image data of the sensor panel 30, the image quality deteriorates due to communication noise on the read second image data. This is because there is a fear.
- a more preferable preview image transmission timing is from the start to the end of the second X-ray irradiation, that is, during the accumulation operation corresponding to the second X-ray irradiation.
- an irradiation start request signal and an irradiation permission signal are transmitted to and received from the radiation source control device 11. For this reason, if a preview image is transmitted during this period, the processing load on the control unit 48 increases, and there is a possibility that a delay occurs in the transmission and reception of the synchronization signal with the source control device 11.
- the image addition circuit 66 reads the first image data and the second image data that have been subjected to various correction processes from the memory 54, and based on each image data, adds pixel values of pixels having corresponding coordinates, Create an X-ray image for diagnosis.

- the radiation source control device 11 records the received imaging conditions in the memory 23 and sets the imaging conditions.
- the irradiation switch 12 When the setting of the imaging conditions is completed, the irradiation switch 12 is pressed by the operator (S11). - the preview image creation circuit 65 creates a preview image based on the corrected first image data. Then, the created preview image is transmitted to the console 14 during the second accumulation operation (S19). Since the transmission of the preview image is performed while avoiding the second reading operation, communication noise is not superimposed on the second image data.
- the console 14 receives the preview image from the electronic cassette 13 and displays it on the display 14b (S19). The operator confirms the success or failure of shooting by looking at the preview image. If it is found that the imaging has failed, the pressing operation of the irradiation switch 12 is released, and the second X-ray irradiation is urgently stopped.

- the sensor panel 30 returns from the shooting mode to the standby mode in which the reset operation is performed.
- the image processing unit 60 performs various correction processes on the second image data. Then, the first image data that has already been corrected and the second image data that has been corrected are added by the image adding circuit 66 to create an X-ray image for diagnosis, and the generated data is stored in the memory 54. This completes one shooting.
- the electronic cassette 13 transmits the diagnostic X-ray image stored in the memory 54 to the console 14 via the communication I / F 55.
- the console 14 displays a diagnostic X-ray image on the display 14b instead of the preview image. The diagnostic X-ray image is confirmed by the operator and then transmitted from the console 14 to an image server or the like and used for a doctor's diagnosis.
- one imaging is divided into two X-ray irradiations, and the first image data output by the first X-ray irradiation during the second X-ray irradiation.
- a preview image is created and transmitted to the console 14 and displayed on the display 14b before the end of the second X-ray irradiation, so that one X-ray imaging can be done with one X-ray irradiation,
- the preview image is displayed faster than the conventional technique in which a preview image is created based on the X-ray image read after the X-ray irradiation is completed and transmitted to the console 14 for display.
- the waiting time until the preview image is displayed after the operator depresses the irradiation switch is shortened.
- the operator can confirm the success or failure of imaging such as whether or not the subject is positioned properly by looking at the preview image before the second X-ray irradiation is completed. Therefore, when the positioning of the subject is inappropriate, preparation for re-photographing can be quickly started, and as a result, the time required for the photographing work including the operator's confirmation work can be shortened.
- the second X-ray irradiation can be interrupted by releasing the full press of the irradiation switch 12, and the subject can be prevented from being exposed to extra exposure.
- the first image data obtained by the first X-ray irradiation is not only used for the preview image, but is also added to the second image data obtained by the second X-ray irradiation and is used for diagnosis X Since it is reflected in the line image, the first X-ray irradiation is not wasted.
- the first image data is read out by the sensor panel 30. Since the second X-ray irradiation is started immediately, the interval between the X-ray irradiations is small and the influence of the body movement of the subject is small.
- the preview image is transmitted from the electronic cassette 13 to the console 14 before the reading operation of the sensor panel 30 after the second X-ray irradiation, the preview image is transmitted to the second image data obtained by the second X-ray irradiation. Good image quality without noise.
- the first image data after reading to the memory 54 is subjected to binning processing or thinning-out processing by software to create a preview image.
- all of the first image data is read during the read operation after the first X-ray irradiation.
- the preview image may be created by a hardware approach such as thinning out instead of pixel reading.
- the accumulation operation is continued from the start of the first X-ray irradiation to the end of the second X-ray irradiation, and is read out as second image data after the end of the second X-ray irradiation.
- the addition circuit 66 adds the first image data.
- a reset operation is performed after the first read operation, the accumulated charge is discarded, a preview image is transmitted to the console 14, and then thinned out by interpolation from the pixel values of the thinned out pixels. It is also possible to generate a pixel value of a pixel that does not exist and supplement the first image data, and add this to the second image data.

- the body motion detection circuit 71 reads out the first and second image data subjected to the image processing for both the first X-ray irradiation and the second X-ray irradiation from the memory 54 and compares them.
- Using a well-known motion detection technique that uses subject contour extraction, motion vectors, etc. quantitatively detects how much the subject has moved during the second X-ray irradiation from the position during the first X-ray irradiation. To do.
- the image addition circuit 66 adds the first and second image data obtained by each X-ray irradiation when the amount of body movement of the subject detected by the body movement detection circuit 71 is not more than a preset threshold value. When the body motion amount of the subject is larger than the threshold, no addition is performed. It is possible to prevent deterioration of the image quality of the diagnostic X-ray image due to the influence of the body movement of the subject during each X-ray irradiation. Further, it is possible to prevent a diagnosis from being performed based on an X-ray image having an image quality that is not suitable for the diagnosis.
- the diagnostic X-ray image is not transmitted to the console 14, and each time as shown in the warning window 72 shown in FIG.
- a message indicating that the body movement of the subject has been detected during the X-ray irradiation may be displayed on the display 14b of the console 14 to prompt re-imaging, or the second image data to which the first image data is not added is displayed.
- the method of displaying a warning when detecting the body movement of the subject is not limited to the method of displaying the warning window 72 on the display 14b as described above.
- a sound such as a beep sound may be emitted from the electronic cassette 13 and reported.
- the example in which the first image data is used for creating the preview image has been described.
- AEC is performed using the first image data. It is preferable.
- the approximate required dose is known for each imaging region, but the X-ray transmittance changes according to the physique such as the body thickness of the subject. Therefore, even when the same dose of X-rays is emitted from the X-ray source 10, the arrival dose reaching the electronic cassette 13 changes depending on the subject. Therefore, AEC is performed to obtain a more appropriate image quality.
- the accumulated dose that reaches the electronic cassette 13 during X-ray irradiation is monitored, and when the accumulated dose reaches the target dose, the X-ray irradiation is stopped.
- Simple AEC uses the fact that X-ray irradiation is divided into two times, and grasps the cumulative dose of the first X-ray irradiation based on the first image data obtained by the first X-ray irradiation. Based on this, the second X-ray irradiation time is determined.

- the irradiation times t1 ′, t2 ′,... Of the second X-ray irradiation are stored.
- information on lighting fields and required doses will be added.
- the daylighting field indicates an area to be referred to when the imaging condition determination unit 61 determines the time of the second X-ray irradiation, corresponds to the region of interest that is most noticeable at the time of diagnosis for each imaging region, and stabilizes the voltage signal.
- the part to be obtained is set.

- the direction parallel to the scanning line 44 is the X axis
- the direction parallel to the signal line 45 is the Y axis. Are expressed at the origin (0, 0).
- the reliability of the imaging conditions of the second X-ray irradiation determined based on this becomes low.
- the dose of the first X-ray irradiation should be increased.

- the imaging condition determination unit 74 of the control unit 73 sets the time for the first X-ray irradiation among the imaging conditions provided from the electronic cassette 13 and The time of the second X-ray irradiation is determined from the required dose and the pixel values of a plurality of pixels in the lighting field in the first image data output from the sensor panel 30 by the first X-ray irradiation (S30). .
- the pixel values of the plurality of pixels in the lighting field are none other than the cumulative dose of X-rays that have reached the lighting field by the first X-ray irradiation.
- the imaging condition determination unit 74 calculates an average value (may be a maximum value, a mode value, or a total value) of a plurality of pixels in the daylighting field, and uses the calculated average value for the time of the first X-ray irradiation.
- the dose per unit time of the first X-ray irradiation is obtained by dividing by. Since the average amount of X-rays has already been irradiated by the first X-ray irradiation, the average value is subtracted from the required dose. Then, the subtraction result is divided by the previously determined dose per unit time to obtain the second X-ray irradiation time.
- the imaging condition determination unit 74 transmits information on the time of the second X-ray irradiation thus obtained to the console 14 via the communication I / F 55.

- the second irradiation time is set and the timer 25 is started.
- the radiation source control device 11 stops the second X-ray irradiation (S21).
- the tube current time product may be determined instead of the irradiation time as the imaging condition for the second X-ray irradiation.
- the average value of the pixel values of a plurality of pixels in the lighting field is divided by the tube current time product of the first X-ray irradiation to obtain a unit tube for the first X-ray irradiation.
- Determine the dose per current time product is determined.
- the average value is subtracted from the required dose, and the subtraction result is divided by the dose per unit tube current time product to obtain the tube current time product of the second X-ray irradiation, and the information is transmitted to the radiation source controller 11. To do.
- the fourth embodiment performs the first X-ray irradiation without setting the irradiation time in advance, monitors the arrival dose during the first X-ray irradiation, and sets the accumulated dose to the target dose.
- This is an example of a general AEC in which the irradiation of X-rays is stopped when it reaches.
- the irradiation time from the start of the first X-ray irradiation to the arrival of the target dose is measured, and the second X-ray irradiation time is determined based on the measured irradiation time.
- symbol is attached
- the irradiation stop threshold value for determining the X-ray irradiation stop at the first X-ray irradiation is the console 14. It is stored as a shooting condition in the storage device 14c. Further, in the first X-ray irradiation, an irradiation stop signal is transmitted from the electronic cassette 13 to the radiation source control device 11, and the first X-ray irradiation is stopped when the radiation source control device 11 receives the irradiation stop signal. .

- the detection pixel 76 functions as a dose detection sensor that detects the arrival dose of X-rays to the imaging region 40 and is used for AEC.
- the detection pixel 76 is hatched to be distinguished from the pixel 41.
- the basic configuration of the pixel 41 and the detection pixel 76, such as the photoelectric conversion unit 42, is exactly the same. Therefore, it can be formed by substantially the same manufacturing process.
- a TFT 79 driven by a scanning line 77 and a gate driver 78 different from the scanning line 44 and the gate driver 46 for driving the TFT 43 of the pixel 41 is connected to the detection pixel 76.
- the ratio of the detection pixels 76 to all the pixels is about 0.01%.
- the positions of the detection pixels 76 are known when the sensor panel 30 is manufactured, and the sensor panel 75 stores the positions (coordinates) of all the detection pixels 76 in a nonvolatile memory (not shown) in advance.
- the detection pixels 76 may be locally concentrated and the arrangement of the detection pixels 76 can be changed as appropriate. For example, in a mammography apparatus that captures an image of the breast, the detection pixels 76 may be arranged concentrated on the chest wall side.
- the gate driver 78 transmits an irradiation permission signal to the radiation source control device 11 under the control of the control unit 80.
- the TFT 79 of the detection pixel 76 in the area corresponding to the daylighting field is selectively turned on.
- the charge generated in the photoelectric conversion unit 42 of the detection pixel 76 flows into the capacitor 49b of the integration amplifier 49 via the signal line 45 when the TFT 79 is turned on regardless of whether the TFT 43 is turned on or off.
- the charge from the detection pixel 76 accumulated in the integrating amplifier 49 is output to the A / D 52 and converted into a digital voltage signal (hereinafter referred to as a dose signal) by the A / D 52.
- the dose signal from the detection pixel 76 is recorded in association with the coordinate information of each detection pixel 76 in the imaging region 40.
- the control unit 80 controls the operation of the sensor panel 75 in the same manner as the control unit 48 of the first embodiment.
- the control unit 80 causes the sensor panel 75 to continue the accumulation operation of accumulating charges in the pixels 41 from the start of the first X-ray irradiation to the end of the second X-ray irradiation. Further, during the first X-ray irradiation, the detection pixel 76 is caused to perform a dose detection operation. After the second X-ray irradiation, the control unit 80 shifts the operation of the sensor panel 75 from the accumulation operation to the read operation. For this reason, the sensor panel 75 outputs X-ray image data only once in one X-ray imaging.
- illustration of an operation program is abbreviate
- the AEC unit 81 is driven and controlled by the control unit 80. During the accumulation operation of the pixel 41, the AEC unit 81 reads out a dose signal acquired a plurality of times at a predetermined sampling rate from the memory 54, and performs AEC based on the read out dose signal.
- the AEC unit 81 measures the cumulative dose of X-rays reaching the imaging region 40 by sequentially adding dose signals read from the memory 54 by a plurality of dose detection operations for each coordinate. More specifically, the AEC unit 81 determines the dose signal of which detection pixel 76 among the plurality of detection pixels 76 scattered in the imaging region 40 based on the information of the lighting field from the console 14, and the accumulated dose of X-rays. Is used to determine whether or not the target dose has been reached. Then, the integrated value of the dose signal from each of the plurality of detection pixels 76 in the selected lighting field is obtained, and the integrated value of each detection pixel 76 is added and divided by the number of detection pixels 76 to obtain an average value (the value of the lighting field). Find the cumulative dose.
- the AEC unit 81 compares the obtained average value with the irradiation stop threshold (target dose) from the console 14 at an appropriate timing. When the average value exceeds the irradiation stop threshold and it is determined that the accumulated dose of X-rays has reached the target dose, an irradiation stop signal is output. If the output of the detection pixel 76 is clearly low due to the influence of the implant embedded in the subject, the AEC unit 81 may determine that there is an abnormality and output an irradiation stop signal to interrupt the X-ray irradiation.
- the first X-ray irradiation time set in the radiation source control device 11 is measured because the irradiation time until the target dose is reached after AEC is performed in the first X-ray irradiation is measured.
- a value with a margin is set so that irradiation does not stop inside. This value is such that the time of the first X-ray irradiation is very short compared to the second time, and the irradiation time until the cumulative dose reaches the target dose varies depending on the tube current and the imaging region, etc. Is set in consideration of You may set the maximum value of the irradiation time set on the safety regulation in the X-ray source 10. FIG.
- the radiation source control device 11 starts X-ray irradiation with the irradiation time set. Then, when the AEC unit 81 determines that the accumulated dose of X-rays has reached the target dose and receives the irradiation stop signal from the irradiation signal I / F 56 by the irradiation signal I / F 26, the radiation source control device 11 is set. Even if it is less than the irradiation time, it functions to stop the X-ray irradiation. In addition, when setting the maximum value of irradiation time to the radiation source control apparatus 11, it is preferable to set it as the value according to the imaging
- the radiation source control device 11 sets a value with a margin for the irradiation time. X-ray irradiation is not continued until the value reaches, and before that, the AEC unit 81 stops the X-ray irradiation.
- the X-rays are irradiated with the same tube voltage and tube current, for example, when the subject thickness is relatively thick, the X-ray dose per unit time that passes through the subject and reaches the imaging region 40 is reduced.
- the irradiation time for reaching the required dose of X-ray irradiation becomes longer, and conversely, when the subject thickness is thin, the irradiation time becomes shorter. Also, when the density of the body tissue is relatively high, the X-ray transmittance decreases, so that the irradiation time becomes longer, and when it is lower, the irradiation time becomes shorter. However, although the irradiation time is different, exposure control is performed by the AEC unit 81 so that the accumulated dose becomes equal to the required dose for the first X-ray irradiation in any case.
- the control unit 80 is provided with a timer 85.
- the timer 85 measures the time from when the irradiation permission signal is transmitted by the irradiation signal I / F 56 to the time when the irradiation stop signal is transmitted at the first X-ray irradiation, that is, the time of the first X-ray irradiation.

- the charge to the photoelectric conversion unit 42 can be obtained by reading out the voltage signal corresponding to the charge from the integrating amplifier 49. - the detection pixel has been described in a form in which a part of the pixel is used as the detection pixel by forming the detection pixel almost the same size as one pixel and arranging the detection pixel instead of a part of the pixel.
- the size is arbitrary, and may be smaller than one pixel or may be a size corresponding to a plurality of pixels. Moreover, you may arrange
- the shape of the detection pixel may be a rectangular shape instead of a substantially square shape.
- the current value of the bias line connected to a specific pixel is monitored to detect the dose.
- the pixel for monitoring the current value becomes the detection pixel.
- the dose may be detected by monitoring the leak current flowing out from the pixel.
- the pixel monitoring the leak current is the detection pixel.

- a dose detection sensor having a configuration different from that of a normal pixel is formed in the imaging region, it is difficult to manufacture because the manufacturing process is different from that of a normal pixel.
- the dose detection sensor is not limited to the one formed in the imaging region of the sensor panel, and a dose detection sensor that is separate from the sensor panel may be used. However, providing a dose detection sensor separate from the sensor panel increases the size and the manufacturing cost. Therefore, as described above, the dose detection sensor is preferably in the form of detection pixels formed in the imaging region of the sensor panel.
- the dose detection sensor When a dose detection sensor having a configuration different from that of a normal pixel is used, a preview image cannot be created from a dose signal as in the fourth embodiment.

Description

撮影部位には、正面、側面、斜位、PA(X線を被写体の背面から照射)、AP(X線を被写体の正面から照射)等の撮影方向も含まれる。
シンチレータは、CsI:Tl(タリウム賦活ヨウ化セシウム)やGOS(Gd2O2S:Tb、テルビウム賦活ガドリウムオキシサルファイド)等からなり、画素41が配列された撮像領域40の全面と対向するように配置されている。なお、シンチレータとTFTアクティブマトリクス基板は、X線の入射する側からみてシンチレータ、基板の順に配置されるPSS(Penetration Side Sampling)方式でもよいし、逆に基板、シンチレータの順に配置されるISS(Irradiation Side sampling)方式でもよい。
