Definitions
- the present invention relates to a current detection device that detects a current flowing through a conductor in a non-contact manner.
- Document 1 Japanese Patent Publication No. 2004-523909
- the conventional example described in Document 1 includes a transformer having a probe magnetic core, a probe winding, a compensation magnetic core, a compensation winding, and the like.
- a probe winding is wound around a ring type probe magnetic core
- a compensation winding is wound around a ring type compensation magnetic core having a diameter larger than that of the probe magnetic core and the probe magnetic core.
- the conductor to be measured is disposed so as to penetrate the probe magnetic core and the compensation magnetic core.
- the magnitude of the current flowing through the conductor is detected by a conventionally known flux gate type detection circuit. That is, the detection circuit includes a symmetric stage and an amplification stage arranged on the output side thereof, and the input side of the symmetric stage is connected to the probe winding.
- the probe core is magnetized bipolarly through a symmetrical stage. Due to the asymmetry of the temporal transition of the current or voltage, an output signal is generated in the symmetric stage, which is amplified in the amplification stage and used to control the compensation winding.
- the output current of the amplification stage is supplied to the compensation winding through a resistor that leads to the ground potential, for example.
- the magnetic field due to this current compensates for the magnetic flux due to the conductors in the compensation and probe cores.
- the output current of the amplification stage that is, the voltage drop across the resistor is proportional to the primary current flowing through the conductor. Therefore, the magnitude of the current flowing through the conductor can be detected by measuring the voltage drop across the resistor.
- the transformer is composed of two magnetic cores (probe core and compensation core) and two windings (probe winding and compensation winding), the structure is complicated and miniaturized. There is a problem that it is difficult to plan.
- the magnitude of the alternating current flowing through the conductor can be detected by detecting the voltage induced in the compensation winding, but there is a problem that the excitation current flowing through the probe winding affects the current detection accuracy. is there.
- the compensation magnetic core is magnetized when an excessive current flows through the conductor, there is a problem in that it affects the subsequent current detection accuracy.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and aims to reduce the size of the conventional example and to improve the accuracy of current detection and the stability against overcurrent.
- the current detection device of the present invention applies a magnetic core in which a conductor to be detected is arranged in the vicinity, a winding wound around the magnetic core, and an excitation signal whose magnitude and direction change at a constant cycle to the winding.
- the excitation unit applies the excitation signal having a positive / negative symmetrical waveform to the winding to magnetically saturate the magnetic core
- the magnetic flux detection unit includes a positive / negative symmetrical threshold value and the excitation
- a comparator for comparing signals (outputs from the windings), and an averaging circuit for time-averaging the outputs of the comparators with the period of the excitation signal, and the feedback signal from the output of the averaging circuit. It is preferable to produce.
- the comparator has a variable threshold value.
- the excitation unit applies the excitation signal having a positive / negative symmetrical waveform to the winding, and the magnetic flux detection unit calculates an effective value of the excitation signal (output from the winding). It is preferable that the feedback signal is generated from an effective value calculated by the effective value calculating circuit.
- the excitation unit applies the excitation signal having a positive / negative symmetrical waveform to the winding, and the magnetic flux detection unit converts the excitation signal (output from the winding) to the excitation signal. It is preferable to have an averaging circuit that performs time averaging with a period, and to generate the feedback signal from the output of the averaging circuit.
- the excitation unit substantially matches the timing at which the excitation signal reaches a peak value with the timing at which the magnetic core is magnetically saturated.
- the current detection device further includes a detection unit that detects the level of the feedback signal.
- the detection unit is connected between the magnetic flux detection unit and the addition unit.
- the current detection device further includes a detection unit that detects an output level of the magnetic flux detection unit.
- the detection unit is connected between the magnetic flux detection unit and a ground.
- the current detection device further includes a low pass filter connected between the magnetic flux detection unit and the detection unit.
- the magnetic core is made of a soft magnetic material.
- the magnetic core is formed in an annular shape and the conductor passes therethrough.
- the magnetic core is divided into a plurality of detachable portions.
- the magnetic core is preferably formed in a columnar shape.
- the current detection device of the present invention includes a magnetic flux detection unit that detects a magnetic flux generated in a magnetic core by a current flowing through a conductor, and an addition unit that adds a feedback signal for canceling the magnetic flux detected by the magnetic flux detection unit to the excitation signal.
- a magnetic flux detection unit that detects a magnetic flux generated in a magnetic core by a current flowing through a conductor
- an addition unit that adds a feedback signal for canceling the magnetic flux detected by the magnetic flux detection unit to the excitation signal.
- 2A to 2D are waveform diagrams for explaining the operation.
- the upper diagram shows the waveform of the excitation signal signal voltage (excitation voltage), and the lower diagram shows the waveform of the excitation signal signal current (excitation current).
- 4A to 4E are perspective views showing another configuration of the magnetic core in the same as above.
- 8A and 8B are block diagrams showing another configuration of the excitation unit of the current detection device according to the present invention.
- the current detection device of this embodiment includes a magnetic core 1, a winding 2 wound around the magnetic core 1, an excitation unit 3, a comparator 4, an averaging circuit 5, an addition unit 6, and the like.
- the magnetic core 1 is formed in an annular shape from a soft magnetic material, and the conductor 7 to be detected passes therethrough.
- a soft magnetic material forming the magnetic core 1 a nanocrystalline material, an amorphous metal material (such as an amorphous ribbon or an amorphous wire), ferrite, or a magnetic fluid is suitable.
- the nanocrystalline material and the amorphous metal material have an advantage that the waveform of hysteresis is maintained up to a high frequency, and the amorphous metal material is superior in strength to the nanocrystalline material.
- Ferrite has a feature that it is cheaper than nanocrystalline materials and amorphous metal materials
- magnetic fluid has a feature that it has no hysteresis.
- the winding 2 wound around the magnetic core 1 has one end connected to the addition unit 6 (the output end thereof) and the other end connected to the ground via the resistor R1.
- the excitation unit 3 outputs an excitation signal whose magnitude and direction change with a constant period and which has a positive / negative symmetrical waveform (sine wave, square wave, triangular wave, etc.).
- the excitation unit 3 is configured to output an excitation voltage having a symmetrical waveform.
- the positive electrode of the exciting unit 3 is connected to one input terminal of the adding unit 6 via the current limiting resistor R2, and the negative electrode of the exciting unit 3 is connected to the ground.
- the comparator 4 compares the positive and negative symmetric threshold values with the excitation signal (actually, the voltage drop across the resistor R1 proportional to the excitation signal). That is, the comparator 4 compares the positive / negative symmetrical threshold value with the output from the winding 2. The comparator 4 compares the excitation signal (output from the winding 2) with the threshold value ⁇ Th, and when the excitation signal becomes equal to or higher than the threshold value Th, the excitation signal is set to be equal to or lower than the threshold value -Th.
- a high level (H) signal is output in the first period until a certain point in time, and the second period from the point in time when the excitation signal becomes equal to or less than the threshold value -Th to the point in time when the excitation signal next exceeds the threshold value Th During the period, a low level (L) signal is output.
- the comparator 4 is configured using, for example, a window comparator, and switches its output between a high level and a low level every time the output of the window comparator falls.
- the averaging circuit 5 averages the output of the comparator 4 with the period of the excitation signal and is constituted by, for example, an integration circuit. In the present embodiment, the comparator 4 and the averaging circuit 5 constitute a magnetic flux detector 9.
- the output of the averaging circuit 5 is amplified by the amplifier AP and then input to the other input terminal of the adder 6 via the detection resistor Rs.
- the adder unit 6 is composed of an inverting amplifier using an operational amplifier 60, a feedback resistor R3, and an input resistor R4, and outputs the output of the averaging circuit 5 input to the excitation signal output from the excitation unit 3 via the detection resistor Rs. Add and output to winding 2.
- a magnetic flux (magnetic field) is generated in the magnetic core 1.
- the direction and magnitude of the magnetic flux changes in synchronization with the excitation signal. That is, when no current is flowing in the conductor 7, the magnetic flux generated in the magnetic core 1 is only the magnetic flux generated by the excitation signal flowing in the winding 2. Therefore, the magnetization characteristic (BH characteristic) of the magnetic core 1 is shown by a solid line in FIG. As shown, the waveform is symmetrical with respect to the origin.
- the present embodiment adopts a flux gate type magnetic flux detection method, and magnetic excitation of the magnetic core 1 causes the excitation signal (excitation current) to change abruptly, and the timing at which the excitation current changes abruptly is compared. This is detected by the device 4 (see the solid line in FIG. 2B).
- the device 4 see the solid line in FIG. 2B.
- the output of the averaging circuit 5 becomes zero and is not added to the excitation signal at all.
- a time difference ⁇ T occurs between the period when the output of the comparator 4 is high level and the period when the output is low level.
- the period when the output of the comparator 4 is high level is T / 2 + ⁇ T and the period when the output of the comparator 4 is low level is T / 2- ⁇ T (see FIG. 2C). Therefore, the output of the averaging circuit 5 does not become zero but becomes a level corresponding to the time difference ⁇ T (see FIG. 2D).
- the addition unit 6 inverts and adds the output of the averaging circuit 5 to the excitation signal output from the excitation unit 3. That is, by adding the output of the averaging circuit 5 to the excitation signal, feedback (negative feedback) is performed so that the time difference ⁇ T becomes zero. Therefore, if the level of the output (feedback signal) of the averaging circuit 5 when the time difference ⁇ T can be regarded as zero is detected as the voltage (voltage drop) Vs across the detection resistor Rs, the current flowing through the conductor 7 from the level of the feedback signal Can be calculated. Note that the sensitivity of current detection can be adjusted by making the threshold value Th in the comparator 4 variable.
- the output of the magnetic flux detector 9 (the output of the averaging circuit 5) is detected as the voltage (voltage drop) Vs across the detection resistor Rs (detector).
- the current detection device of the present embodiment can detect an alternating current flowing through the conductor 7 and having a frequency on the order of the same level as the direct current to the excitation signal (a frequency smaller than the frequency of the excitation signal).
- the current detection device detects the magnetic flux detection unit 9 (the comparator 4 and the averaging circuit 5) that detects the magnetic flux generated in the magnetic core 1 by the current flowing through the conductor 7, and the magnetic flux detection unit 9. And an adder 6 for adding a feedback signal for canceling the magnetic flux to the excitation signal.
- the conventional example described in Document 1 (hereinafter referred to as the conventional example) requires only two magnetic cores and windings, so that the size can be reduced as compared with the conventional example.
- the two windings are magnetically coupled, and excitation noise is superimposed on the output to reduce the detection accuracy.
- the current is higher than that in the conventional example.
- the detection accuracy can be improved.
- the stability against the overcurrent of the current flowing through the conductor 7 can be improved as compared with the conventional example.
- the excitation signal in order to suppress the influence of the noise component superimposed on the excitation signal and improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the feedback signal, the excitation signal (excitation current) has a peak value as shown by the solid line B in the lower part of FIG. It is desirable to make the timing substantially coincide with the timing at which the magnetic core 1 is magnetically saturated. That is, when the excitation current has a peak value earlier than the timing at which the magnetic core 1 is magnetically saturated (broken line A in FIG. 3), or when the excitation current has a peak value at a time when the magnetic core 1 is magnetically saturated. The amount of change in the excitation current is larger than that in the case where the current is slower (dotted line C in FIG. 3).
- the comparator 4 compares the threshold value with the threshold value, erroneous determination due to a noise component hardly occurs, and the signal-to-noise ratio of the feedback signal can be improved.
- the signal voltage of the excitation signal output from the excitation unit 3 and the winding 2 are set according to the magnetization characteristics of the magnetic core 1. The number of turns may be adjusted.
- the magnetic core 1 is divided into two semi-annular portions 10 and 11 as shown in FIG. 4A, and one ends of the respective portions 10 and 11 are rotatably coupled to each other by a shaft 12. It is preferable that the other ends (free ends) of 11 are detachable. With the magnetic core 1 having such a structure, the conductor 7 to be detected can be easily penetrated.
- the magnetic core 1 may be formed in a columnar shape (for example, a columnar shape). With such a columnar magnetic core 1, the winding 2 can be easily wound.
- the magnetic core 1 is not limited to an annular shape, and may be, for example, a rectangular frame in which a substantially C-shaped (square bracket-shaped) magnetic core 13 and an I-shaped magnetic core 14 are combined as shown in FIG. 4C. I do not care.
- the magnetic core 1 may be configured by combining two substantially C-shaped magnetic cores 13.
- the magnetic flux detection unit 9 is constituted by the comparator 4 and the averaging circuit 5 is excited.
- the averaging circuit 5 that averages the excitation signal with the period of the excitation signal over time.
- the magnetic flux detection unit 9 may be configured only by generating a feedback signal from the output of the averaging circuit 5.
- the magnetic flux detection unit 9 is configured by the effective value calculation circuit 8 that calculates the effective value of the excitation signal, and a feedback signal is generated from the effective value calculated by the effective value calculation circuit 8. It doesn't matter. Since the effective value calculation circuit 8 can be realized by a conventionally known technique, the detailed circuit configuration is not shown and described.
- the configuration of the adder 6 is not limited to the inverting amplifier using the operational amplifier 60.
- the configuration in which the output ends of the two amplifiers 61 and 62 are bridge-connected via the winding 2 as shown in FIG. It may be.
- the resistor R5 is connected to the output terminal of one amplifier 61
- the detection resistor Rs is connected to the output terminal of the other amplifier 62. Therefore, the outputs (feedback signals) of the amplifiers 61 and 62 are added to the excitation signal via the resistor R5 and the detection resistor Rs and applied to the winding 2. According to such a circuit configuration, there is an advantage that the output voltage of the adder 6 can be doubled as compared with the case of one amplifier.
- the detection resistor Rs detection unit
- the detection resistor Rs detection unit
- the output of the magnetic flux detector 9 is amplified by the amplifier AP and then input to the other input terminal of the adder 6 via the resistor R5.
- a low-pass filter F1 between the magnetic flux detection unit 9 and the detection resistor Rs (detection unit).
- an impedance element (inductor L1) or a low-pass filter F2 (a resistor R2 connected in series to the excitation unit 3 and the excitation unit 3) is provided between the excitation unit 3 and the addition unit 6. May be provided with a capacitor C1) connected in parallel.
