Definitions
- the present invention relates to a bead apex rubber forming method and a bead apex rubber forming apparatus capable of accurately forming a bead apex rubber on an outer peripheral surface of a bead core.
- annular bead core c made of a hard steel wire or the like is provided on the bead portion a of the pneumatic tire in order to fix both ends of the carcass b and prevent the rim from coming off.
- a bead apex rubber d having a triangular cross section is disposed on the outer peripheral surface in the radial direction of the bead core c in order to improve bead durability, steering stability, and the like.
- the bead apex rubber d is put into a tire manufacturing line in a state of a bead apex rubber-core joined body (hereinafter sometimes referred to as “core joined body”) integrally joined to a bead core c in advance.
- core joined body a bead apex rubber-core joined body
- a bead apex rubber d having a triangular cross-section extruded by a rubber extruder is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the bead core c. Wrap around once. Then, the end surfaces of the front end portion and the rear end portion of the winding are attached to each other and jointed. At this time, the high-temperature bead apex rubber d immediately after extrusion molding is soft and easily deformed. For this reason, it is difficult to supply the bead apex rubber d to the bead core immediately after molding, and it is necessary to cool one end after molding.
- the adhesiveness of the bead apex rubber d decreases due to the cooling. As a result, adhesion becomes insufficient, and the bead apex rubber d and the bead core c tend to be easily separated (see FIG. 12A). Further, the cross-sectional shape is deformed, for example, the bead apex rubber d is curled in the width direction by shrinking (see FIG. 12B). If the curl is severe, the front end d1 and the rear end d2 cannot be joined. When the cross-sectional height of the bead apex rubber d is large, the curl causes the bead apex rubber d to fall down, making it difficult to form the core assembly.
- the joint portion between the front end portion d1 and the rear end portion d2 may be detached due to insufficient adhesion (see FIG. 12C), or a gap f (FIG. 12D) is formed between the front end portion d1 and the rear end portion d2.
- a gap f (FIG. 12D) is formed between the front end portion d1 and the rear end portion d2.
- the overlapping portion g (see FIG. 12E) is formed between the front end portion d1 and the rear end portion d2, thereby causing a problem of weight imbalance.
- Patent Documents 1 and 2 are known.
- the present invention can ensure a high adhesive strength between the bead apex rubber and the bead core, can suppress deformation due to shrinkage, and is formed substantially in a jointless shape so that gaps and overlapping portions in the joint portion are formed. It is an object of the present invention to provide a bead apex rubber forming method and a bead apex rubber forming apparatus capable of preventing problems such as weight imbalance due to the occurrence of adhesion and loss of adhesion at a joint portion.
- the invention according to claim 1 of the present invention is a bead apex rubber forming method in which a bead apex rubber is continuously formed over the circumference on an outer peripheral surface of an annular bead core having a core axis.
- the molding process is as follows: In the closed state in which the bead apex molding chamber is closed on the front side and the rear side in the bead core rotation direction with respect to the rubber inflow port by the front and rear shutters, and in the bead core rotation stopped state, the unvulcanized rubber in the bead apex molding chamber A tip portion forming step for forming a tip portion of the bead apex rubber between the front and rear shutters, An intermediate portion forming step for sequentially forming bead apex rubber continuously with the tip portion by removing the front shutter, releasing the front side in the bead core rotation direction, and allowing unvulcanized rubber to flow in while rotating the bead core.
- a joint space is formed between the end portion and the tip portion, and the unvulcanized rubber further flows into the joint space, so that the rear end portion and the tip portion are integrally connected by the joint rubber portion. It is characterized by including a connection step.
- the invention according to claim 2 is a bead apex rubber forming device for continuously forming a bead apex rubber over the entire circumference of an annular bead core having a core axis.
- a bead core holding means for holding the bead core rotatably about a core axis;
- a rubber extruder having a gear pump at the front end, and extruding unvulcanized rubber from the rubber outlet in response to turning on and off of the gear pump;
- a bead apex molding chamber is formed that extends at both ends in the circumferential direction.
- the first inner wall surface is connected to the rubber discharge port via a rubber flow path, and a rubber inlet is formed through which unvulcanized rubber from the rubber extruder flows into the bead apex molding chamber.
- the molding head is A shutter before closing the bead apex molding chamber on the front side in the bead core rotation direction from the rubber inlet, A shutter after closing the bead apex molding chamber on the rear side in the bead core rotation direction from the rubber inlet, It is characterized by comprising a cutter that cuts and separates the rubber part in the rubber flow path and the rubber part in the bead apex molding chamber by crossing the rubber inlet along the first inner wall surface.
- a molding process in which unvulcanized rubber is introduced into the bead apex molding chamber and the bead apex rubber is directly formed on the outer peripheral surface of the bead core rotating around the core axis.
- a tip portion forming step for forming the tip portion of the bead apex rubber
- an intermediate portion forming step for sequentially forming the bead apex rubber continuously with the tip portion
- a rear end portion and a tip portion of the bead apex rubber And a connecting step for connecting the two by inflow of unvulcanized rubber.
- the bead apex molding chamber is closed by front and rear shutters at the front and rear sides in the bead core rotation direction from the rubber inlet. Then, in a state where the rotation of the bead core is stopped, unvulcanized rubber is caused to flow into the closed bead apex molding chamber, thereby forming a tip portion of the bead apex rubber.
- the rubber internal pressure can be increased in the molding chamber. Therefore, the tip portion can be accurately molded with the rubber filled in the molding chamber. Moreover, since the rubber internal pressure is high, the adhesive force between the tip and the bead core is increased, and the adhesive strength can be improved.
- the front shutter is removed to release the front side of the bead core rotation direction, and unvulcanized rubber is allowed to flow in while rotating the bead core.
- the bead apex rubber can be successively formed continuously with the tip portion.
- the bead apex molding chamber since the tip portion has already been formed, the bead apex molding chamber is substantially closed even when the previous shutter is removed. Therefore, the rubber flowing in from the rubber inflow port sequentially pushes the bead apex rubber while pushing the rubber molded portion previously molded in the bead apex molding chamber toward the front side in the bead core rotation direction and continuing to the rubber molded portion. Can be formed. At this time, the bead core can rotate integrally with the rubber molding portion by the pushing force forward in the bead core rotation direction.
- the connecting step when the bead core makes a substantially round and the tip returns to the bead apex molding chamber, the bead core is stopped, and the rear shutter is removed to release the rear side in the bead core rotation direction. As a result, a joint space is formed between the rear end portion of the bead apex rubber and the front end portion. The unvulcanized rubber is further introduced into the joint space. As a result, the rear end portion and the front end portion are integrally connected by the joint rubber portion.
- the bead apex rubber is substantially jointless. Therefore, there is no occurrence of a conventional gap or overlapping portion due to the joint, and it is possible to suppress weight variation and to prevent the adhesion from being lost at the joint portion.
- the bead apex rubber is formed in an annular shape while maintaining a high temperature state. Therefore, shrinkage and deformation caused by the shrinkage can be restrained and restrained as a whole. Further, since the bead apex rubber is formed integrally with the bead core, it is possible to ensure a high adhesive strength between the bead apex rubber and the bead core.
- the conventional cooling process and the pasting process become unnecessary. Therefore, the number of processes can be reduced, the production efficiency can be increased, and the factory space can be reduced, and the production line and the equipment can be downsized.

- the cutting step P4 is performed after the splicing rubber part Bm is formed (FIG. 10E).
- the cutter 25 is advanced, and the rubber inflow port 19 is crossed along the first inner wall surface 13s.
- the rubber inlet 19 has a small diameter. Therefore, without using the cutter 25, the rubber can be cut only by pulling when the core assembly is taken out from the molding chamber 15.
- the front end portion Bf and the rear end portion Br are connected in the same cross-sectional shape by the inflow of unvulcanized rubber. Therefore, the bead apex rubber B is formed in a substantially jointless shape. for that reason. There is no occurrence of conventional gaps and overlapping portions due to the joint, and it is possible to suppress variation in weight and to prevent adhesion failure at the joint portion.
