Definitions
- the present invention relates to a composition for promoting the growth of intestinal bifidobacteria containing an oligosaccharide as an active ingredient.
- Bifidobacteria are known as beneficial intestinal bacteria that provide intestinal regulating action, antiallergic action, immunostimulatory action, etc. to the host.
- infants raised with artificial milk infants raised with breast milk have an overwhelmingly large proportion of bifidobacteria in the intestinal tract, so growth factors have been searched for for many years. .
- LNT lacto-N-tetraose
- LNB lacto-N-Biosidase
- LNnT lacto-N-neotetraose
- An object of the present invention is to provide a composition for promoting growth showing a good growth promoting effect against bifidum ( B. bifidum ) and Bifidobacterium longum ( B. longum ).
- oligosaccharides such as lacto-N-tetraose (LNT) and lacto-N-neotetraose (LNnT) are particularly found in the human adult intestine.
- Bifidobacterium bifidum (B. bifidum) to bifidobacteria such Bifidobacterium longum (B. longum), found to exhibit excellent growth promoting effect, and have completed the present invention.
- the present invention relates to the following (1) to (13).
- lacto -N- tetraose containing one or more members selected from the group consisting of lacto -N- neotetraose and their derivatives, Bifidobacterium (Bifidobacterium) growth promotion of a microorganism belonging to the genus Composition.
- Bifidobacterium Bifidobacterium growth promotion of a microorganism belonging to the genus Composition.
- the microorganism belonging to the genus Bifidobacterium is selected from the group consisting of a microorganism belonging to Bifidobacterium bifidum and a microorganism belonging to Bifidobacterium longum.
- the composition as described in said (1) which is a seed
- composition according to the above (1) or (2) which promotes the growth of a microorganism belonging to the genus Bifidobacterium in the intestine of a human adult.
- the composition according to any one of (1) to (3) above which is a growth promoter for microorganisms belonging to the genus Bifidobacterium .
- the composition according to any one of (1) to (3) above which is a food or drink.
- (9) By allowing a subject in need to orally ingest a composition containing one or more selected from the group consisting of lacto-N-tetraose, lacto-N-neotetraose and derivatives thereof, A method for promoting the growth of a microorganism belonging to the genus Bifidobacterium in the subject.
- the microorganism belonging to the genus Bifidobacterium is selected from the group consisting of a microorganism belonging to Bifidobacterium bifidum and a microorganism belonging to Bifidobacterium longum.
- the method according to (9) above which is a seed or two or more.
- (11) The method according to (9) or (10) above, wherein the growth of a microorganism belonging to the genus Bifidobacterium in the intestine of a human adult is promoted.
- One or two selected from the group consisting of lacto-N-tetraose, lacto-N-neotetraose and derivatives thereof for use in promoting the growth of microorganisms belonging to the genus Bifidobacterium A composition containing more than a seed.
- (13) For promoting the growth of microorganisms belonging to the genus Bifidobacterium containing one or more selected from the group consisting of lacto-N-tetraose, lacto-N-neotetraose and derivatives thereof A commercial package containing a composition and a statement describing instructions for use in promoting growth of microorganisms belonging to the genus Bifidobacterium .
- the composition for promoting growth belongs to a microorganism belonging to the genus Bifidobacterium , particularly Bifidobacterium bifidum, in the intestines of mammals, particularly human adult intestines.
- a microorganism or a microorganism belonging to Bifidobacterium longum can be efficiently propagated.
- the intestinal microflora can be improved and maintained, and intestinal diseases and various symptoms caused by changes in the intestinal microflora can be prevented or improved.
- FIG. 1 is a diagram showing measured values of turbidity (OD 600 ) at a wavelength of 600 nm when various microorganisms belonging to the genus Bificobacterium are cultured for a certain time in the presence of LNT or LNnT.
