Abstract

이소부텐을 포함하는 C4 탄화수소 혼합물 및 글리콜 화합물을 반응물로 사용하는 글리콜 모노-터셔리-부틸에테르 화합물의 제조에 있어서, 부산물인 글리콜 디-터셔리-부틸에테르 화합물을 이소부텐 및 글리콜 화합물로 분해하고 반응물로 재순환시켜, 단위 원료당 제품 생산량을 극대화할 수 있는 글리콜 모노-터셔리-부틸에테르 화합물의 제조 방법이 개시된다. 상기 글리콜 모노-터셔리-부틸에테르 화합물의 제조 방법은 글리콜 화합물과 이소부텐을 포함하는 C4 탄화수소 혼합물을 산성 촉매의 존재 하에 반응시킴으로써, 글리콜 모노-터셔리-부틸에테르 화합물과 부산물인 글리콜 디-터셔리-부틸에테르 화합물을 제조하는 촉매반응 단계; 상기 촉매반응 단계에서 제조된 글리콜 모노-터셔리-부틸에테르 화합물과 글리콜 디-터셔리-부틸에테르 화합물을 친수성 추출제 및 친유성 추출제를 사용하여 분리하는 부산물 추출 단계; 및 분리된 글리콜 디-터셔리-부틸에테르 화합물을 글리콜 화합물 및 이소부텐으로 분해하여 상기 촉매반응 단계로 재순환시키는 부산물 분해 및 순환 단계를 포함한다.
