Definitions
- the present invention relates to a rubber article reinforcing cord and a pneumatic tire using the cord as a carcass ply cord.
- a rayon fiber that is a highly rigid fiber is used for a carcass ply to realize high steering stability.
- lyocell fiber which is the same cellulose fiber, it has higher rigidity than rayon, so that higher steering stability can be obtained.
- Patent Document 1 discloses a technique for improving steering stability by using rayon as a fiber used for a carcass cord of a motorcycle tire.
- cellulose fibers such as rayon fiber and lyocell fiber have high rigidity, they are inferior in fatigue resistance, and in particular, lyocell fiber is inferior in fatigue resistance.
- carcass plies in motorcycle tires often have a bias structure in which ply cords that are inclined with respect to the tire circumferential direction are alternately stacked, and work at the intersection of ply cords between the stacks. There was a problem that fatigue fracture was likely to occur due to repeated input.
- the carcass is 80 ° to about the tire circumferential direction. It was necessary to provide at an angle of 90 °.
- the cord fatigues due to compressive strain, and the durability of the tire is increased. There was a problem that the property became low.
- an object of the present invention is to provide a rubber article reinforcing cord having improved fatigue resistance while maintaining high rigidity, and a highly durable pneumatic tire using the cord as a carcass ply cord. is there.
- the inventors have made extensive studies in order to solve the above problems, and as a result, by using a cord in which nylon fibers having excellent fatigue resistance are mixed with cellulose fibers having high rigidity, the high rigidity of cellulose fibers can be obtained. Knowing that it is possible to achieve both the fatigue resistance of nylon fibers, and in order to achieve the compatibility specifically, it is necessary to appropriately set the conditions for the number of twists of each fiber. New findings were obtained.
- the gist configuration of the pneumatic tire according to the present invention is as follows.
- a cord for reinforcing rubber articles, The rubber article reinforcing cord is formed by twisting a yarn obtained by twisting cellulose fibers and a yarn obtained by twisting nylon fibers.
- a cord having both high rigidity and fatigue resistance and a pneumatic using the cord as a ply cord for carcass by using cellulose fiber and nylon fiber in combination under an appropriate number of lower twists Tires can be provided.
- FIG. 1 to 3 are diagrams for explaining a cord used for a carcass ply of a pneumatic tire according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- a cord in which cellulose fibers having high rigidity and nylon fibers having excellent fatigue resistance are mixed is used.
- FIG. 1 is a diagram in the case where the number of twists of nylon fibers and cellulose fibers is 30 (times / 10 cm).
- the nylon fiber 1 and the cellulose fiber 2 are alternately arranged with respect to one cord, and when the compressive strain is input to the cord, the compressive strain is equally applied to the nylon fiber and the cellulose fiber. .
- the number of twists is represented by a numerical value between 10 cm of the yarn in accordance with JIS L 1017 (1983).
- FIG. 2 shows a state in which the yarn twisted with cellulose fibers and the yarn twisted with nylon fibers are twisted in the opposite direction to the twist (up twist). As shown in FIG. 2, the nylon fiber is disposed inside the cord and the cellulose fiber is disposed outside the cord.
- the nylon fiber is arranged outside the cellulose fiber by adopting the above structure, when the compression strain is applied to the twisted cord, most of the strain is applied to the nylon fiber. Accordingly, since the compressive strain applied to the cellulose fiber inferior in compression fatigue is reduced, the fatigue resistance of the entire twisted cord is improved.
- the number of twists of the nylon fiber is n (times / 10 cm) and the number of twists of the cellulose fiber is m (times / 10 cm)
- the number of twists of the nylon fiber and the twist of the cellulose fiber is 0 ⁇ n / m ⁇ 0.75 It is preferable to be within a range satisfying the above. This is because if the ratio is larger than 0.75, the effect of twisting the cellulose fibers so as to enter the inside of the nylon fibers cannot be obtained sufficiently. Further, even when the above ratio is 0, the fatigue resistance is improved as compared with the cord made only of cellulose fibers. On the other hand, in order to prevent the compressive strain applied to the nylon fiber from becoming too large, the above ratio is more preferably set to 0.3 or more.
- the number of twists of cellulose is preferably 32 (times / 10 cm) or more. This is because if it is smaller than 32 (times / 10 cm), the effect that the cellulose fibers are twisted so as to enter the outside with respect to the nylon fibers cannot be sufficiently obtained.
- the number of twists of nylon is preferably 30 (times / 10 cm) or less. This is because, when it is larger than 30 (times / 10 cm), the fatigue resistance of the nylon fiber is improved, but the rigidity of the cords twisted is lowered.
- chord is comprised with 17 to 45% of nylon fiber content rate. This is because if it is less than 17%, the cellulose fiber cannot sufficiently receive the buffering action of the nylon fiber, and the fatigue resistance cannot be improved. If it is more than 45%, the ratio of the nylon fiber to the cord This is because the nylon fiber has a lower elastic modulus than the cellulose fiber, and as a result, the rigidity of the cord itself cannot be maintained, and the steering stability cannot be maintained.
- the “content ratio” refers to the ratio of the weight of the nylon fiber to the weight of the entire cord.
- the cord is preferably composed of a cellulose fiber having a fineness of 500 to 3000 dtex and a nylon fiber having a fineness of 400 to 3000 dtex. This is because if the fineness of the cellulose fiber is less than 500 dtex and the fineness of the nylon fiber is less than 400 dtex, the tensile strength is too small, and if the fineness of the cellulose fiber and nylon fiber is greater than 3000 dtex, the weight becomes too large. It is.
- the tire using the cord of the present embodiment for the carcass has excellent fatigue resistance, it can be disposed at an angle of 60 ° to 90 ° with respect to the circumferential direction of the tire.
- the cord of the present invention since the cord of the present invention has high rigidity and excellent fatigue resistance, it is preferably used for a carcass ply cord of a pneumatic tire.
- the pneumatic tire has, for example, a structure having a carcass 3 straddling a toroidal shape between a pair of bead cores and a belt disposed on the outer side in the tire radial direction of the carcass 3 as shown in FIG. Since the cord of the present invention has high rigidity and excellent fatigue resistance, a tire excellent in steering stability and durability can be realized by using this cord as a carcass ply cord of a pneumatic tire.
- the cord of the present invention is preferably used for a tire having a cap structure as shown in FIG. 3 that has low durability due to compression strain.
- the cap structure here is made by embedding organic fiber cords arranged substantially in parallel with the tire circumferential direction in rubber, and the belt 4 has more tire width than the belt 4 over the entire width of the belt.
- (INDEX of invention example) ((mileage of tire of invention example) / (mileage of tire of conventional example 1)) ⁇ 100 A larger INDEX is superior in durability.
- the INDEX of the invention example of steering stability is obtained by running an actual vehicle on a test course and evaluating the overall evaluation based on the running feeling of the test rider with the tire of the conventional example 1 being 100. Larger numbers are better.
- the comparative example is the same as the invention example.
- the notation x / y (for example, 1840/2) in the structure of the cord material indicates that y fibers of x (dtex) are twisted.
- Invention Examples 1 to 3 in which the relationship between the number of twists of the cord material 1 and the cord material 2 is within the preferable range are superior in both durability and handling stability. It can be seen that Comparative Examples 1 and 2 whose relationship is not within the preferred range are inferior to Conventional Example 1 in durability. Furthermore, in comparison with Invention Example 5 and Comparative Example 1, Invention Example 5 in which the number of twists of lyocell, which is a cellulose fiber, is within the preferred range is more durable than Comparative Example 3, in which the number of twists of lyocell is outside the preferred range. It can be seen that the properties are excellent.
