Abstract
Description
本願は、2011年1月6日に、日本に出願された特願2011-001496号及び特願2011-001497号に基づき優先権を主張し、その内容をここに援用する。
このロッドレンズは、複数本を各ロッドレンズの中心軸が互いに略平行になるように1列または2列以上に配列して、2枚の基板間に接着固定してロッドレンズアレイの形態にして用いられることがある。ロッドレンズアレイは、ハンドスキャナ等の各種スキャナや、複写機、ファクシミリ等におけるイメージセンサ用の部品、発光ダイオード(LED)プリンタ等の書き込みデバイスなどの光伝送体として広く用いられている。
ところで、近年、LEDプリンタや複写機等の用途においても、プラスチック製ロッドレンズの需要が高まってきている。しかしながら、LEDプリンタの用途においては、より光量の高いロッドレンズが求められており、また、複写機の用途においては、色収差の小さいロッドレンズが求められている。
これらの要求を満足させるために、プラスチック製ロッドレンズにおいて、従来、検討がなされている。
また、例えば、特許文献2には、カラー特性に優れた、すなわち色収差が小さく複写機に適したプラスチック製ロッドレンズが開示されている。
また、本発明の第2の課題は、光量が大きくかつ耐熱性に優れ、LEDプリンタ用途に適したプラスチック製ロッドレンズおよびロッドレンズアレイを提供することにある。
また、本発明の第3の課題は、色収差が小さくかつ耐熱性に優れ、複写機用途に適したプラスチック製ロッドレンズおよびロッドレンズアレイを提供することにある。
中心から外周に向かうにつれて屈折率nDが減少している半径rの円柱状のロッドレンズであって、
芳香環含有単量体(a)単位と、
炭素数が3以上の分岐炭化水素基を有する(メタ)アクリレート(b)単位、フッ素含有単量体(c)単位および脂環含有(メタ)アクリレート(d)単位から選ばれる少なくとも一種の単量体単位とを
構成単位として含有する重合体混合物(I)から構成され、
ガラス転移温度が100℃以上である透明なプラスチック製ロッドレンズ、このロッドレンズを用いたロッドレンズアレイ、およびこのロッドレンズアレイを用いたカラーイメージセンサヘッドおよびLEDプリンタヘッドに関するものである。
第1の発明において、前記重合体混合物(I)が、前記(a)単位と、前記(b)単位および前記(c)単位の少なくとも一種とを構成単位として含有する重合体混合物(II)であり、

また、本発明のプラスチック製ロッドレンズ、プラスチック製ロッドレンズアレイ、およびこのプラスチック製ロッドレンズを用いたLEDプリンタヘッドは、透明性に優れ、レンズ光量が大きく、また、耐熱性が良好なため高温環境下で使用しても良好な解像度を維持でき、LEDプリンタ用の書き込み部材に好適に用いることができる。
また、本発明のプラスチック製ロッドレンズ、プラスチック製ロッドレンズアレイ、およびこのプラスチック製ロッドレンズを用いたカラーイメージセンサヘッドは、透明性に優れ、色収差が小さく、また、耐熱性が良好なため高温環境下で使用しても良好な解像度を維持でき、複写機用の読み込み部材に好適に用いることができる。
[プラスチック製ロッドレンズ]
まず、本発明の第1の発明について説明する。
本発明の第1の発明は、
中心から外周に向かうにつれて屈折率nDが減少している半径rの円柱状のロッドレンズであって、
芳香環含有単量体(a)単位と、
炭素数が3以上の分岐炭化水素基を有する(メタ)アクリレート(b)単位、フッ素含有単量体(c)単位および脂環含有(メタ)アクリレート(d)単位から選ばれる少なくとも一種の単量体単位とを
構成単位として含有する重合体混合物(I)から構成され、
ガラス転移温度が100℃以上である透明なプラスチック製ロッドレンズである。
ここで、重合体混合物とは、二種以上の重合体の混合物のことである。なお、「重合体混合物」が「特定の単量体単位を構成単位として含有する」とは、「重合体混合物全体としてみた場合」に「特定の単量体単位が重合体を構成する単位として含有されている」ことである。すなわち、特定の単量体単位が、重合体混合物を構成するいずれかの重合体に構成単位として含有されていることである。例えば、「重合体混合物」が、「単量体(a)単位、単量体(b)単位、単量体(c)単位および単量体(d)単位を構成単位として含有する」場合を例にとって説明すると、重合体混合物が、『単量体(a)~(d)単位の全てを少なくとも有する重合体』と『他の重合体』の混合物である場合でもよいし、また、例えば、重合体混合物が、『単量体(a)単位を少なくとも有する重合体(A)』と『単量体(b)単位を少なくとも有する重合体(B)』と『単量体(c)単位を少なくとも有する重合体(C)』と『単量体(d)単位を少なくとも有する重合体(D)』の混合物である場合でもよいし、これらの場合の中間の場合、例えば、重合体混合物が、『単量体(a)単位を少なくとも有する重合体(A)』と『単量体(b)~(d)単位を少なくとも有する重合体』の混合物である場合や、『単量体(a)単位および単量体(b)単位を少なくとも有する重合体』と『単量体(c)単位および単量体(d)単位を少なくとも有する重合体』の混合物等である場合や、『単量体(a)単位を少なくとも有する重合体(A)』、『単量体(b)単位を少なくとも有する重合体(B)』と『単量体(c)単位および単量体(d)単位を少なくとも有する重合体』の混合物等である場合であってもよい。
(1)『<芳香環含有単量体(a)単位>と<炭素数が3以上の分岐炭化水素基を有する(メタ)アクリレート(b)単位、フッ素含有単量体(c)単位および脂環含有(メタ)アクリレート(d)単位から選ばれる少なくとも一種の単量体単位>とを構成単位として少なくとも含有する重合体』と『他の重合体』との混合物や、
(2)『芳香環含有単量体(a)単位を構成単位として少なくとも有する重合体』と『《炭素数が3以上の分岐炭化水素基を有する(メタ)アクリレート(b)単位を構成単位として少なくとも有する重合体》、《フッ素含有単量体(c)単位を構成単位として少なくとも有する重合体》、および《脂環含有(メタ)アクリレート(d)単位を構成単位として少なくとも有する重合体》から選ばれる少なくとも一種の重合体』との混合物等が挙げられる。
前記(a)単位の原料となる単量体としては、本発明のプラスチックロッドレンズに使用できるものであれば、特に制限されないが、例えば、フェニルアクリレート(n=1.57、ν=38、Tg=114℃)、フェニルメタクリレート(n=1.56、ν=36、Tg=122℃)、ベンジルメタクリレート(n=1.56、ν=38、Tg=59℃)、フェネチルメタクリレート(n=1.53、ν=41、Tg=42℃)、スチレン(n=1.59、ν=34、Tg=98℃)、2-クロルスチレン(n=1.58、ν=37、Tg=120℃)、3-クロルスチレン(n=1.60、ν=36、Tg=85℃)、4-クロルスチレン(n=1.59、ν=37、Tg=121℃)、2-ビニルナフタレン(n=1.66、ν=21、Tg=142℃)等を使用することができる。これらの中でも、他の構成単位の原料である単量体との重合性や、耐熱性向上の観点からフェニルメタクリレートが好ましい。なお、カッコ内の数値はホモポリマーとした際の物性値であり、「n」は屈折率、「ν」はアッベ数、「Tg」はガラス転移温度である。
前記(b)単位の原料となる単量体としては、本発明のプラスチックロッドレンズに用いられるものであれば、特に制限されないが、例えば、プロピルメタクリレート(n=1.48、ν=57、Tg=43℃)、イソプロピルメタクリレート(n=1.47、ν=55、Tg=81℃)、イソブチルメタクリレート(n=1.48、ν=47、Tg=64℃)、sec―ブチルメタクリレート(n=1.48、ν=55、Tg=59℃)、t-ブチルアクリレート(n=1.47、ν=56、Tg=42℃)、t-ブチルメタクリレート(n=1.47、ν=60、Tg=107℃)等を使用することができる。これらの中でも、屈折率が低く、耐熱性を向上させる観点からイソブチルメタクリレート、t-ブチルメタクリレート、イソプロピルメタクリレートが好ましい。なお、カッコ内の数値はホモポリマーとした際の物性値である。
前記(c)単位の原料となる単量体としては、本発明のプラスチックロッドレンズに用いられるものであれば、特に制限されないが、例えば、2,2,2-トリフルオロエチルメタクリレート(n=1.42、ν=68、Tg=80℃)、2,2,3,3-テトラフルオロプロピルメタクリレート(n=1.41、ν=70、Tg=79℃)、2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5-オクタフルオロペンチルメタクリレート(n=1.40、ν=66、Tg=31℃)等を使用することができる。なお、カッコ内の数値はホモポリマーとした際の物性値である。これらの中でも、屈折率が低く、耐熱性を向上させる観点から2,2,3,3-テトラフルオロプロピルメタクリレートが好ましい。
前記(d)単位の原料となる単量体としては、本発明のプラスチックロッドレンズに用いられるものであれば、特に制限されないが、例えば、1-アダマンチルメタクリレート(n=1.53、ν=57、Tg=183℃)、イソボルニルメタクリレート(n=1.53、ν=56、Tg=155℃)、トリシクロ[5.2.1.02,6]デカニルメタクリレート(n=1.52、ν=55、Tg=150℃)等を使用することができる。これらの中でも、耐熱性向上や他の成分との溶解性の観点から、トリシクロ[5.2.1.02,6]デカニルメタクリレートが好ましい。なお、カッコ内の数値はホモポリマーとした際の物性値である。

(式(6)中、n0はロッドレンズの中心における屈折率(中心屈折率)であり、Lはロッドレンズの円形断面における中心からの距離(0≦L≦r)であり、gはロッドレンズの屈折率分布定数であり、n(L)はロッドレンズの中心からの距離Lの位置における屈折率である。)
また、ロッドレンズの中心屈折率n0は、特に制限されないが、525nmの波長の光において1.45~1.60であることが、ロッドレンズを構成する材料の選択肢を広くし、良好な屈折率分布を形成しやすくする観点から好ましい。
ロッドレンズのガラス転移温度を100℃以上とするためには、重合体混合物(I)中、前記(a)単位の含有量〔a〕が5~72.5質量%であることが好ましい。
また、ロッドレンズの中心から外周に向かって0.8r~rの範囲(Z)に位置する重合体混合物(I)中、前記(c)単位の含有量〔c〕が0~47質量%であることが好ましい。
また、ロッドレンズの中心から外周に向かって0~0.5rの範囲(X)に位置する重合体混合物(I)中、前記(d)単位の含有量〔d〕が0~50質量%含まれることが好ましい。
本発明の第2の発明は、
重合体混合物(I)が、前記(a)単位と、前記(b)単位および前記(c)単位の少なくとも一種とを構成単位として含有する重合体混合物(II)であり、
中心部と外周部の屈折率差が0.02~0.06であり、
中心から外周に向かって0~rの範囲において、いずれの位置においても重合体混合物(II)の構成単位の組成が、下記式(1)を満足するプラスチック製ロッドレンズである。

(2)『前記(a)単位を構成単位として少なくとも有する重合体』と『《前記(b)単位を構成単位として少なくとも有する重合体》および《前記(c)単位を構成単位として少なくとも有する重合体》の少なくとも一種の重合体』との混合物等、
が挙げられる。
第2の発明のロッドレンズは、中心と外周部の屈折率差が0.02~0.06である。この屈折率差が0.02以上の場合に、レンズの開口角が十分大きくなり、高速印刷に必要なレンズ光量を確保できる傾向にある。一方、この屈折率差が0.06以下の場合に、焦点深度が狭くなることに起因するピントズレによる解像度の低下が発生するのを防ぐことができると同時に、作動距離を十分確保することができる傾向にあり、光学設計が容易になる。
また、第2の発明のロッドレンズは、中心から外周に向かって0~rの範囲において、いずれの位置においても重合体混合物(II)の構成単位の組成が、式(1)を満足する。

しかし、第2の発明のロッドレンズは、該ロッドレンズを構成する重合体混合物(II)が、レンズ中心から外周に向かういずれの位置においても、その組成において式(1)を満足するため、白濁することなく、優れた透明性を発揮することができる。従って、第2の発明のロッドレンズは、光量が大きく解像度低下がない。
図5~9は、それぞれ単量体(b)の含有量〔b〕が0%、5%、20%、40%、50%である場合において、構成単位の組成の含有量〔a〕(質量%)、〔c〕(質量%)及び〔m〕(質量%)で、透明性について表1~5の結果を整理した三角相図である。
図10に示すとおり、重合体混合物の組成が(1)式を満たす範囲で、その重合体混合物が透明となることが分かる。また、重合体混合物が透明となる上で、(1)式は、下記式(1’)であることがさらに好ましい。

ところで、ロッドレンズを構成する重合体混合物において、レンズの中心と外周にかけての屈折率差を大きくするために、単量体(c)単位は、外周寄りに位置する屈折率の低い重合体混合物に多く含まれる。このため、レンズの外周寄りに位置する重合体のガラス転移温度は低い傾向にある。
図16は、重合体混合物のTgが110℃以上となるとき、100℃以上110℃未満となるとき、および100℃未満となるときの組成範囲を〔b〕(質量%)及び〔c〕(質量%)によって整理したグラフである。
これより、重合体混合物の組成が、(2)式を満たす範囲で、その重合体混合物のTgが100℃以上となる。

また、レンズの中心部分に位置する重合体混合物のガラス転移温度を110℃以上とすることにより、より十分な耐熱性をレンズに付与することができるので特に好ましい。

特に、中心から外周に向かって0.8r~rの範囲(Z)に位置する重合体混合物を(2)式を少なくとも満たす組成(質量%)で構成することが好ましく、さらに、中心から外周に向かって0から0.8rの範囲(X,Y)に位置する重合体混合物を(3)式を満たす組成(質量%)で構成することが好ましい。
このようにレンズを構成する重合体混合物の組成を適切に選定し、配置することにより、透明性に優れ、且つレンズ中心と外周部の屈折率差が大きいことで、光量の大きなレンズを得ることができ、さらにレンズ全体にわたってガラス転移点が高いため耐熱性に優れ、高温環境下で使用しても解像度低下のないレンズを得ることができる。
本発明の第3の発明は、
前記重合体混合物(I)が、前記(a)単位、前記(b)単位および前記(d)単位を構成単位として含有する重合体混合物(III)であり、

すなわち、図1に示すようにロッドレンズ1を中心軸に垂直な方向で切断したときの断面の半径をrとしたときに、中心Oから外周に向かって0~rの範囲において、いずれの位置においても、重合体混合物の屈折率とアッベ数が、式(8)で表されるライン上にのるように設計することが好ましく、重合体の原料として用いられる単量体(a)、単量体(b)及び単量体(d)と、必要に応じて単量体(c)、単量体(m)の配合割合を調整することで、式(8)の関係を満たすロッドレンズを得ることができる。
そのためには、中心寄りに位置する重合体混合物に単量体(d)単位が多く配合され、外周寄りに位置する重合体混合物に単量体(a)単位、単量体(b)単位が多く配合されることが好ましい。ここで、単量体(b)の代わりとしてレンズのガラス転移温度が100℃以下とならない範囲で単量体(c)を用いることもできる。
またレンズの中心から外周に向かって0~rの範囲において、〔a〕及び〔b〕が徐々に増加するように配合されるようにすることが、色収差の少なく、解像度の高いレンズを得るうえで好ましい。ここで、単量体(b)の代わりとしてレンズのガラス転移温度が100℃以下とならない範囲で単量体(c)を用いることもできる。
さらに、第3の発明のロッドレンズの屈折率分布定数gは、特に限定されるものではないが、光学系のコンパクト化や光学系の作動距離の確保や取扱性の観点から、525nmの波長の光において0.10~1.00mm-1の範囲であることが好ましく、0.25~0.70mm-1の範囲であることがより好ましい。屈折率分布定数gが0.10mm-1以上の場合に、光学系の作動距離が短くなる傾向にあり、小型化が容易となる。一方、屈折率分布定数gが1.00mm-1以下の場合に、作動距離が適度になり光学系の設計が容易となる傾向にある。

しかし、本発明のロッドレンズは、該ロッドレンズを構成する重合体混合物が、レンズ中心から外周に向かういずれの位置においても、その構成単位の組成において、(5)式を満たすことによって、白濁することなく、優れた透明性を発揮するため、光量が大きく解像度低下のないロッドレンズを得ることができる。
重合体混合物の組成が(5)式を満たす範囲では、その重合体混合物が相分離することなく混和するため、重合体混合物が透明となることが分かる。また、重合体混合物が透明となる上で、(5)式は、下記式(5’)であることがさらに好ましい。

ロッドレンズのガラス転移点を高くすることにより耐熱性を改善することができるが、レンズに十分な耐熱性を付与するためには、レンズのガラス転移温度を100℃以上であることが必要である。
光吸収層の厚みは5~100μmが好ましい。光吸収層の厚みがこの範囲である場合に、フレア光やクロストーク光を十分に除去できると共に、十分な透過光量を確保できる傾向にある。
光吸収剤としては、例えばLEDプリンタにおいては光源として400~900nmの波長の光を出射する光源が用いられるのが一般的であるので、400~900nmのうち少なくとも一部の波長域の光を吸収する光吸収剤を用いることが好ましい。
これら光吸収剤は、単独で使用してもよいし、2種以上を組み合わせて使用することもできる。
次に、本発明のプラスチック製ロッドレンズの製造方法について説明する。
中心から外周に向かうにつれて屈折率が減少しているロッドレンズを製造するための方法としては、例えば付加反応法、共重合法、ゲル重合法、単量体揮発法、相互拡散法等が挙げられ、いずれの方法でもよいが、精度および生産性の点で相互拡散法が好ましい。
まず、硬化後の屈折率nが、n1>n2>・・・・>nN(N≧3)となるN個の未硬化状物を、例えば複合紡糸ノズル等を用いて、中心から外周に向かうにつれて硬化後の屈折率が順次低くなるような配置で、同心円状に積層した未硬化状の積層体(以下、「糸状体」という。)に賦形する。
ここで、相互拡散処理は、糸状体に窒素雰囲気下、10~60℃、より好ましくは20~50℃で数秒~数分間の熱履歴を与える処理である。
ついで、上記紡糸工程により得られたロッドレンズ原糸を、必要に応じて加熱延伸処理した後、緩和処理を施し、適宜、所定のサイズに切断することにより、本発明のロッドレンズを得る。
熱硬化処理は、熱硬化触媒を含有させた未硬化状物を、一定の温度に制御された加熱炉等の硬化処理部で所定時間加熱処理することにより行うことができる。
光硬化処理は、光硬化触媒を含有させた未硬化状物に周囲から紫外線を照射することにより行うことができる。光硬化処理に用いる光源としては、150~600nmの波長の光を発生する炭素アーク灯、超高圧水銀灯、高圧水銀灯、中圧水銀灯、低圧水銀灯、ケミカルランプ、キセノンランプ、発光ダイオード(LED)及びレーザー光などが挙げられる。
光硬化触媒としては、例えばベンゾフェノン、ベンゾインアルキルエーテル、4’-イソプロピル-2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチルプロピオフェノン、1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン、ベンジルメチルケタール、2,2-ジエトキシアセトフェノン、クロロチオキサントン、チオキサントン系化合物、ベンゾフェノン系化合物、4-ジメチルアミノ安息香酸エチル、4-ジメチルアミノ安息香酸イソアミル、N-メチルジエタノールアミン、トリエチルアミン等が挙げられる。
これら熱硬化触媒や光硬化触媒の含有量は、特に制限されないが、未硬化状物100質量部に対して、0.01~2.00質量部であることが好ましい。
重合禁止剤としては、例えばハイドロキノン、ハイドロキノンモノメチルエーテル等のキノン化合物、フェノチアジン等のアミン系化合物、4-ヒドロキシ-2,2,6,6-テトラメチルピペリジン-N-オキシル等のN-オキシル系化合物などが挙げられる。
上記紡糸工程は、例えば図2に示すようなプラスチック製ロッドレンズ原糸の製造装置を用いて行うことができる。
上記製造装置10を用いたロッドレンズ原糸の製造では、不活性ガス導入管13から収容体12内に不活性ガス(例えば窒素ガス)を導入すると共に不活性ガス排出管14から収容体12内の不活性ガスを排出させる。
紡糸工程によって得られたロッドレンズ原糸Fは、必要に応じて、そのまま連続的に加熱延伸処理に送ってもよいし、一旦ボビン等に巻き取ってから加熱延伸処理に送ってもよいし、所望の長さに切断してもよい。
加熱延伸処理及び緩和処理は、例えば、図3に示すような延伸・緩和処理装置20を用いて行うことができる。
ロッドレンズは、各層間で未硬化状物同士が相互拡散した状態で硬化することで得られるため、ロッドレンズの中心屈折率n0は、複合紡糸ノズル内で中心に位置するロッドレンズ原液としての未硬化状物の硬化後の屈折率と同じかそれより低くなる。また、ロッドレンズの最外部分の屈折率は、複合紡糸ノズル内で最外部位に位置するロッドレンズ原液としての未硬化状物の硬化後の屈折率と同じかそれより高くなる。
上記理由により、本発明の第1の発明では、ロッドレンズの中心と外周部の屈折率差を0.003~0.06とするために、複合紡糸ノズル内で、中心に位置する未硬化状物を単独で硬化させた重合体混合物の屈折率と、外周部分に位置する未硬化状物を単独で硬化させた重合体混合物の屈折率の差が0.008~0.065となるよう設計することが好ましい。
また本発明の第3の発明では、ロッドレンズの中心と外周部の屈折率差を0.003~0.02とするためには、複合紡糸ノズル内で、中心に位置する未硬化状物を単独で硬化させた重合体混合物の屈折率と、外周部分に位置する未硬化状物を単独で硬化させた重合体混合物の屈折率の差が0.008~0.025となるよう設計することが好ましい。
次に、プラスチック製ロッドレンズアレイ(以下、単に「ロッドレンズアレイ」という。)ついて説明する。
本発明のロッドレンズアレイは、上述した本発明のロッドレンズの複数本が、2枚の基板間に、各ロッドレンズの中心軸が互いに略平行方向となるように配列され、固定されたロッドレンズ列を少なくとも1列備える。
隣接するロッドレンズ31,31は互いに密着していてもよいし、一定の隙間をおいて配列していてもよい。
また、同種のロッドレンズを2段以上に積み重ねて配列されてなるレンズアレイの場合は、ロッドレンズ間の隙間が最小になるように俵積み状に配列されていることが好ましい。
基板32の材質は特に限定されないが、ロッドレンズアレイを作製する工程での加工が容易な材料であることが好ましい。具体的には、各種熱可塑性樹脂、各種熱硬化性樹脂などが好ましく、アクリル系樹脂、ABS樹脂、ポリイミド系樹脂、液晶ポリマー、エポキシ系樹脂などが特に好ましい。また、基板32の基材、補強材として、繊維や紙を用いてもよいし、基板に離型剤、染料、顔料、帯電防止剤等を添加してもよい。
また、基板32やロッドレンズ31への接着剤の塗布方法としては、接着剤の種類に応じて、スクリーン印刷法、スプレーコーティング法等の公知のコーティング法を用いることができる。
本発明のロッドレンズアレイは、本発明の第2のロッドレンズを用いる場合には、レンズの光量が大きく、且つ耐熱性に優れる。従って、LEDプリンタ等において、印刷速度の高速化、および機器の小型化による高温環境下でレンズを使用した場合にも、解像度等の光学特性の低下が抑制され、好適に用いることが可能となる。
[LEDプリンタヘッド]
次に、本発明のLEDプリンタヘッドについて図19を用いて説明する。
本発明のLEDプリンタヘッド40は、上述した本発明のロッドレンズアレイ30と発光素子となる発光ダイオード(LED)を多数配列したLEDアレイ43を組み合わせたものであり、このLEDプリントヘッド40は、支持体としてのハウジング41、発光素子アレイの駆動装置を搭載するプリント基板42、露光光を照射するLEDアレイ43、LEDアレイ43からの光を感光体ドラム100の表面に結像させるロッドレンズアレイ30、ロッドレンズレンズアレイ30を支持するとともにLEDアレイ43を外部から遮蔽するロッドレンズアレイホルダー45、ハウジング41をロッドレンズアレイ30方向に付勢する板バネ46を備えている。
LEDアレイ43は、複数個のLEDチップが基板42に感光体ドラム100の軸線方向と平行に精度よく列状に配置されている。またロッドレンズアレイ30も同様に、ロッドレンズ31が感光体ドラム100の軸線方向と平行に精度よく列状に配置されている。そしてLEDアレイ43からの光が感光体ドラム100表面に結像され、静電潜像を形成する。
次に、本発明のカラーイメージセンサヘッドについて図20を用いて説明する。
本発明のカラーイメージセンサヘッド50は、上述した本発明のロッドレンズアレイ30とラインイメージセンサ(光電変換素子)51を組み合わせたものであり、稿台54の原稿載置面54a上に載置された原稿Gに光を照射するライン状光源56と、原稿Gからの反射光を集光するロッドレンズアレイ30と、ロッドレンズアレイ30により集光された光を受けるラインイメージセンサ51と、ライン状光源56、ロッドレンズアレイ30およびラインイメージセンサ51を収容する筐体52とを備える。
第2凹部52bには、ロッドレンズアレイ30が固定されている。第3凹部52cには、ラインイメージセンサ51を備えた基板57が取り付けられている。基板57は、その上面が第3凹部52cに設けられた段差部52dに当接するように固定されている。
sample No.1~207の各重合体のフィルムについて、目視により透明性を評価した。
<屈折率、アッベ数および屈折率分布の測定>
カールツァイス社製インターファコ干渉顕微鏡を用いて測定した。
SIIナノテクノロジー株式会社製示差熱分析装置(型番:DSC6220C)を用いて、以下の条件でガラス転移温度(Tg)の測定を行った。
・窒素気流下(流量100mL/分)
・測定温度範囲:スタート温度30℃、リミット温度200℃
・昇温速度:10℃/分
なお、評価試料の前処理は、以下のとおりである。
sample No.1~207の各重合体のフィルムまたはロッドレンズの試料を150℃で5分間溶融させた状態で維持し、ドライアイスで1分間急冷して、残留応力を除去した後、デシケータ内に15分以上放置して、試料に付着した霜を除去した。
なお、ガラス転移温度(Tg)は、公知の方法で求めた。すなわち、測定により得られたDSC曲線から、ガラス領域におけるベースラインの延長線と、ガラス転移領域付近に現れるDSC曲線の変曲点における接線との交点をガラス転移温度(Tg)とした。
空間周波数12ラインペア/mm(Lp/mm)を有するラインチャートを用いて測定した。
具体的には、光軸に垂直な両端面を研磨したロッドレンズアレイに光源からの光(波長470nm、525nmまたは630nm)を、ラインチャートを通して入射させ、結像面に設置したCCDラインセンサにより格子画像を読み取り、その測定光量の最大値(imax)と最小値(imin)を測定し、下記式(9)によりMTF(モデレーション・トランスファー・ファンクション)を求めた。

次に、ラインチャートとCCDラインセンサとの距離を共役長に保ったまま、ロッドレンズアレイ全幅について走査してMTFを50点測定し、これらの平均値(平均MTF)を求めて、解像度の指標とした。平均MTFの値が大きい程、解像度が優れる。
ここで空間周波数とは、白ラインと黒ラインとの組み合わせを1ラインとし、このラインの組み合わせが1mmの幅の中に何組設けてあるかを示すものである。
解像度の測定で用いたラインチャートの代わりに、オパール型拡散板を用いて光量を測定する。
具体的には、光源からの光(波長525nm)を拡散板を通して、ロッドレンズアレイに入射させ、結像面に設置したCCDラインセンサにより光量出力を測定し、測定光量の最大値(imax)を記録する。この際のロッドレンズアレイの入射端と拡散板との距離と、ロッドレンズアレイの出射端とCCDラインセンサとの距離は等しく、拡散板とCCDラインセンサとの距離は共役長である。
次に、拡散板とCCDラインセンサとの距離を共役長に保ったまま、ロッドレンズアレイ全幅について走査して光量出力を50点測定し、これらの平均値(平均光量)を求めた。ここで、一般的に使用されているロッドレンズであるセルフォック(登録商標)レンズアレイSLA12D(日本板硝子社製)の平均光量を100%としたときの、対象レンズの光量百分率(%)を光量の指標とした。光量の値が大きい程、高速での印刷に対応することができる。
温度70℃、湿度90%RHに設定した恒温恒湿器中にロッドレンズアレイを配し、1000時間保持した。試験前後での470nm、525nmまたは630nmの波長における平均MTFの値を求めた。
表1~7に示す単量体および重合体の混合物100質量部に対して、光硬化触媒として1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン(HCPK)0.25質量部を混合し、2枚のスライドガラスの間に挟み、2KWの高圧水銀灯3本にて5000mJ/cm2の紫外光を8回照射することによって硬化させて、厚さ0.3mmのフィルム状重合体混合物sample No.1~207(PMMAとその他の重合体の混合物)を得た。
ポリメチルメタクリレート(PMMA)45質量部、メチルメタクリレート(MMA)20質量部、フェニルメタクリレート(PhMA)35質量部、1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン(HCPK)0.25質量部、およびハイドロキノン(HQ)0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第1層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.5と同じ組成である。
PMMA45質量部、MMA40質量部、PhMA15質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第2層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.26と同じ組成である。
PMMA50質量部、MMA10質量部、PhMA10質量部、t-ブチルメタクリレート(TBMA)20質量部、4FM10質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.77と同じ組成である。
なお、HCPKは光硬化触媒、HQは重合禁止剤である。
各層の原液の組成を表8に示す。
各層の吐出比は、ロッドレンズの半径方向の各層の厚さ(第1層目においては半径)の比に換算して、第1層目/第2層目/第3層目/第4層目/第5層目=24.0/31.1/40.2/2.2/2.5とした。
ここで、第1層は最も内側で、第5層は最も外側である。
具体的には、不活性ガス導入管13から収容体12内に窒素ガスを導入すると共に不活性ガス排出管14から収容体12内の不活性ガスを排出させた。
また、同心円状複合紡糸ノズル11から押し出された糸状体Aを、引取りローラ(ニップローラ)17で引き取り(390cm/分)、長さ30cmの相互拡散処理部12bを通し、各層間同士で相互拡散を生じさせた。
これにより得られたロッドレンズ原糸の半径は0.215mmであった。
次いで、得られたロッドレンズ原糸を166mmの長さに切断し、ロッドレンズを得た。
作製したロッドレンズアレイの525nmの波長における、光量と耐熱試験前後での平均MTFを測定したところ、光量は良好であり、また耐熱試験後の解像度の低下はほとんどなく、耐熱性が極めて良好であった。結果を表10に示す。
また、作製したロッドレンズアレイを用いてLEDプリンタヘッドを作製し、印字を行ったところ鮮明な画像が得られ、また耐熱試験後も印字画像に変化はなかった。
PMMA45質量部、MMA10質量部、PhMA45質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、HQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第1層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.2と同じ組成である。
PMMA45質量部、MMA30質量部、PhMA25質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第2層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.23と同じ組成である。
PMMA45質量部、MMA25質量部、PhMA10質量部、TBMA5質量部、4FM15質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.57と同じ組成である。
各層の原液の組成を表8に示す。
なお、第4層形成用原液および第5層形成用原液中には、実施例1と同じ染料を同じ量添加した。
作製したロッドレンズアレイの525nmの波長における、光量と耐熱試験前後での平均MTFを測定したところ、光量は非常に良好であり、また耐熱試験後の解像度の低下も非常に小さく、耐熱性が非常に良好であった。結果を表10に示す。
また、作製したロッドレンズアレイを用いてLEDプリンタヘッドを作製し、印字を行ったところ鮮明な画像が得られ、また耐熱試験後も印字画像にほぼ変化はなかった。
PMMA45質量部、PhMA60質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、HQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第1層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.11と同じ組成である。
PMMA45質量部、MMA20質量部、PhMA35質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第2層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.5と同じ組成である。
PMMA45質量部、MMA40質量部、4FM15質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.25と同じ組成である。
各層の原液の組成を表8に示す。
なお、第4層形成用原液および第5層形成用原液中には、実施例1と同じ染料を同じ量添加した。
このようにして得られたロッドレンズの半径rは0.30mm、Tgは105℃であった。また、ロッドレンズの中心屈折率n0は525nmの波長において1.527、中心から外周に向かう0.2r~0.8rの範囲において屈折率分布が前記式(6)に近似され、525nmの波長において屈折率分布定数gは0.88mm-1であり、レンズ中心と外周部の屈折率差は0.053であった。ロッドレンズは透明であり、ロッドレンズの外周部には染色層が形成されていた。
作製したロッドレンズアレイの525nmの波長における、光量と耐熱試験前後での平均MTFを測定したところ、光量は極めて良好であり、また耐熱試験後の解像度の低下は小さく、耐熱性が良好であった。結果を表10に示す。
また、作製したロッドレンズアレイを用いてLEDプリンタヘッドを作製し、印字を行ったところ鮮明な画像が得られ、また耐熱試験後も印字画像にあまり変化はなかった。
PMMA40質量部、PhMA60質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、HQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第1層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.11と同じ組成である。
PMMA45質量部、MMA20質量部、PhMA35質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第2層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.5と同じ組成である。
PMMA45質量部、MMA40質量部、4FM15質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.25と同じ組成である。
各層の原液の組成を表8に示す。
なお、第4層形成用原液および第5層形成用原液中には、実施例1と同じ染料を同じ量添加した。
このようにして得られたロッドレンズの半径rは0.30mm、Tgは106℃であった。また、ロッドレンズの中心屈折率n0は525nmの波長において1.527、中心から外周に向かう0.2r~0.8rの範囲において屈折率分布が前記式(6)に近似され、525nmの波長において屈折率分布定数gは0.88mm-1であり、レンズ中心と外周部の屈折率差は0.054であった。ロッドレンズは透明であり、ロッドレンズの外周部には染色層が形成されていた。

PMMA45質量部、MMA30質量部、PhMA25質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第2層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.23と同じ組成である。
PMMA50質量部、MMA10質量部、PhMA20質量部、TBMA20質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.76と同じ組成である。
各層の原液の組成を表8に示す。
なお、第4層形成用原液および第5層形成用原液中には、実施例1と同じ染料を同じ量添加した。
このようにして得られたロッドレンズの半径rは0.330mm、Tgは114℃であった。また、ロッドレンズの中心屈折率n0は525nmの波長において1.513、中心から外周に向かう0.2r~0.8rの範囲において屈折率分布が前記式(6)に近似され、525nmの波長において屈折率分布定数gは0.44mm-1であり、レンズ中心と外周部の屈折率差は0.016であった。ロッドレンズは透明であり、ロッドレンズの外周部には染色層が形成されていた。
作製したロッドレンズアレイの525nmの波長における、光量と耐熱試験前後での平均MTFを測定したところ、光量はSLA12Dと同程度であり、また耐熱試験後の解像度の低下はほとんどなく、耐熱性が極めて良好であった。結果を表10に示す。
また、作製したロッドレンズアレイを用いてLEDプリンタヘッドを作製し、印字を行ったところ、光量が少ないためノイズがあったが、耐熱試験前後で印字画像に変化はなかった。
PMMA45質量部、MMA10質量部、PhMA45質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、HQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第1層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.2と同じ組成である。
PMMA45質量部、MMA30質量部、PhMA25質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第2層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.23と同じ組成である。
PMMA20質量部、PhMA30質量部、TBMA5質量部、4FM45質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.47と同じ組成である。
各層の原液の組成を表9に示す。
なお、第4層形成用原液および第5層形成用原液中には、実施例1と同じ染料を同じ量添加した。
このようにして得られたロッドレンズの半径rは0.300mm、Tgは99.0℃であった。また、ロッドレンズの中心屈折率n0は525nmの波長において1.518、中心から外周に向かう0.2r~0.8rの範囲において屈折率分布が前記式(6)に近似され、525nmの波長において屈折率分布定数gは0.79mm-1であり、レンズ中心と外周部の屈折率差は0.043であった。ロッドレンズは透明であり、ロッドレンズの外周部には染色層が形成されていた。
作製したロッドレンズアレイの525nmの波長における、光量と耐熱試験前後での平均MTFを測定したところ、光量は非常に良好であったが、耐熱試験後の解像度の低下が極めて大きく、耐熱性が不良であった。結果を表10に示す。
また、作製したロッドレンズアレイを用いてLEDプリンタヘッドを作製し、印字を行ったところ鮮明な画像が得られたが、耐熱試験後の印字画像は不鮮明であった。
PMMA35質量部、PhMA65質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、HQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第1層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.31と同じ組成である。
PMMA45質量部、MMA10質量部、PhMA45質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第2層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.2と同じ組成である。
PMMA35質量部、PhMA25質量部、TBMA40質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.105と同じ組成である。
各層の原液の組成を表9に示す。
なお、第4層形成用原液および第5層形成用原液中には、実施例1と同じ染料を同じ量添加した。
このようにして得られたロッドレンズの半径rは0.300mm、Tgは114℃であった。また、ロッドレンズの中心屈折率n0は525nmの波長において1.530、中心から外周に向かう0.2r~0.8rの範囲において屈折率分布が前記式(6)に近似され、525nmの波長において屈折率分布定数gは0.77mm-1であり、レンズ中心と外周部の屈折率差は0.041であった。ロッドレンズは白濁しており、ロッドレンズの外周部には染色層が形成されていた。
作製したロッドレンズアレイの525nmの波長における、光量と耐熱試験前後での平均MTFを測定したところ、レンズが白濁しているため光量が極めて小さかった。また拡散光の影響で解像度が非常に低かった。耐熱試験前後での解像度の低下は少なかった。結果を表10に示す。
また、作製したロッドレンズアレイを用いてLEDプリンタヘッドを作製し、印字を行ったところ、白濁しているため光量が極めて不十分であり、また、耐熱試験前であっても解像度が極めて低いため、レンズとしての機能を果たさなかった。
PMMA46質量部、MMA24質量部、TCDMA30質量部、1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン(HCPK)0.25質量部、およびハイドロキノン(HQ)0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第1層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.132と同じ組成である。
PMMA45質量部、MMA30.6質量部、PhMA3質量部、TCDMA16.4質量部、TBMA5質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、及びHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第2層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.133と同じ組成である。
PMMA44.8質量部、MMA13.9質量部、PhMA12.1質量部、TBMA14.2質量部、8FM15質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、及びHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.135と同じ組成である。
各層の原液の組成を表11に示す。
なお、第4層形成用原液および第5層形成用原液中には、実施例1と同じ染料を同じ量添加した。
各層の吐出比は、ロッドレンズの半径方向の各層の厚さ(第1層目においては半径)の比に換算して、第1層目/第2層目/第3層目/第4層目/第5層目=24.0/31.1/32.2/10.2/2.5とした。
ここで、第1層は最も内側で、第5層は最も外側である。
具体的には、不活性ガス導入管13から収容体12内に窒素ガスを導入すると共に不活性ガス排出管14から収容体12内の不活性ガスを排出させた。
また、同心円状複合紡糸ノズル11から押し出された糸状体Aを、引取りローラ(ニップローラ)17で引き取り(200cm/分)、長さ30cmの相互拡散処理部12bを通し、各層間同士で相互拡散を生じさせた。
これにより得られたロッドレンズ原糸の半径は0.30mmであった。
次いで、得られたロッドレンズ原糸を166mmの長さに切断し、ロッドレンズを得た。
表13に示すように、このようにして得られたロッドレンズアレイは、波長470nm、525nm、630nmでの共役長Tcがほぼ同じで低色収差レンズとなっていた。また、波長470nm、525nm、630nmにおける耐熱試験後の平均MTFの低下は非常に小さく、耐熱性が非常に良好であった。
また、作製したロッドレンズアレイを用いてカラーイメージセンサヘッドを作製し、読取りを行ったところ色のにじみのない鮮明な画像が得られ、原稿が浮いた状態でも鮮明な画像が得られた。また耐熱試験前後で読取り画像に変化はほぼなかった。
PMMA43質量部、MMA22質量部、PhMA5質量部、TCDMA30質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、HQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第1層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.137と同じ組成である。
PMMA43質量部、MMA19.2質量部、PhMA6.3質量部、TCDMA26.5質量部、TBMA5質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第2層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.138と同じ組成である。
PMMA47質量部、MMA24.7質量部、PhMA9.9質量部、TCDMA6.6質量部、TBMA11.8質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.140と同じ組成である。
各層の原液の組成を表11に示す。
なお、第4層形成用原液および第5層形成用原液中には、実施例1と同じ染料を同じ量添加した。
このプラスチックロッドレンズ原糸を、135℃の雰囲気下で3.15倍に延伸し、115℃の雰囲気下で緩和率が500/700になるよう緩和処理を行った。
表13に示すように、このようにして得られたロッドレンズアレイは、波長470nm、525nm、630nmでの共役長Tcがほぼ同じで低色収差レンズとなっていた。また、波長470nm、525nm、630nmにおける耐熱試験後の平均MTFの低下は非常に小さく、耐熱性が非常に良好であった。
また、作製したロッドレンズアレイを用いてカラーイメージセンサヘッドを作製し、読取りを行ったところ色のにじみのない鮮明な画像が得られ、原稿が浮いた状態でも鮮明な画像が得られた。また耐熱試験前後で読取り画像に変化はほぼなかった。

PMMA45.8質量部、MMA17質量部、PhMA9.7質量部、TCDMA11.5質量部、TBMA16質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.145と同じ組成である。

PMMA44質量部、MMA15質量部、PhMA7.5質量部、TCDMA30質量部、TBMA3.5質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第2層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.142と同じ組成である。
PMMA45.8質量部、MMA17質量部、PhMA9.7質量部、TCDMA11.5質量部、TBMA16質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.145と同じ組成である。
各層の原液の組成を表11に示す。

PMMA45質量部、MMA29質量部、BzMA5質量部、TCDMA15質量部、8FM6質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第2層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.188と同じ組成である。
PMMA47質量部、MMA23質量部、BzMA10質量部、8FM20質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.190と同じ組成である。
各層の原液の組成を表12に示す。
表13に示すように、このようにして得られたロッドレンズアレイは、波長470nm、525nm、630nmでの共役長Tcがほとんど同じで低色収差レンズとなっていたが、波長470nm、525nm、630nmにおける耐熱試験後の平均MTFの低下が極めて大きく、耐熱性が不良であった。

PMMA43質量部、MMA7質量部、PhMA5質量部、TCDMA10質量部、TBMA10質量部、4FM25質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第2層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.193と同じ組成である。
PMMA44質量部、MMA11質量部、PhMA7質量部、TCDMA3質量部、4FM35質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.195と同じ組成である。
各層の原液の組成を表12に示す。
なお、第4層形成用原液および第5層形成用原液中には、実施例1と同じ染料を同じ量添加した。
このようにして得られたロッドレンズの半径rは0.300mm、Tgは95℃であった。また、ロッドレンズの中心屈折率n0は525nmの波長において1.482、中心から外周に向かう0.2r~0.8rの範囲において屈折率分布が前記式(6)に近似され、525nmの波長において屈折率分布定数gは0.21mm-1であった。また、中心から外周に向かって0~rの範囲において、任意の二点α、β間のKの値の差|Kα-Kβ|は最大で4.6であった。レンズは透明体であり、ロッドレンズは透明であり、ロッドレンズの外周部には染色層が形成されていた。
表13に示すように、このようにして得られたロッドレンズアレイは、波長470nm、525nm、630nmでの共役長Tcがほとんど同じで低色収差レンズとなっていたが、波長470nm、525nm、630nmにおける耐熱試験後の平均MTFの低下が極めて大きく、耐熱性が不良であった。

PMMA45質量部、MMA18.5質量部、PhMA14.5質量部、TBMA7質量部、8FM15質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.141と同じ組成である。
各層の原液の組成を表12に示す。

PMMA45質量部、MMA18.5質量部、PhMA14.5質量部、TBMA7質量部、8FM15質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、及びHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第2層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.141と同じ組成である。
PMMA40.3質量部、MMA3.4質量部、PhMA15.9質量部、TBMA10.4量部、8FM30質量部、HCPK0.25質量部、およびHQ0.1質量部を70℃に加熱混練して第4層形成用原液(未硬化状物)とした。この組成はsample No.136と同じ組成である。
各層の原液の組成を表12に示す。

PMMA35重量部、TCDMA50重量部、MMA15重量部、HCPK0.2重量部、HQ0.1重量部を70℃に加熱混練して第1層形成用(中心部)原液とした。また、PMMA37重量部、MMA13重量部、TBMA50重量部、HCPK0.2重量部、HQ0.1重量部を70℃に加熱混練して第2層形成用(周辺部)原液とした。
各層の吐出比は、ロッドレンズの半径方向の各層の厚さ(第1層目においては半径)の比に換算して、第1層目/第2層目=1/1とした。ここで、第1層は内側で、第2層は外側である。
具体的には、不活性ガス導入管13から収容体12内に窒素ガスを導入すると共に不活性ガス排出管14から収容体12内の不活性ガスを排出させた。
また、同心円状複合紡糸ノズル11から押し出された糸状体Aを、引取りローラ(ニップローラ)17で引き取り(50cm/分)、長さ60cmの相互拡散処理部12bを通し、各層間同士で相互拡散を生じさせた。
これにより得られたロッドレンズ原糸の半径は0.40mmであった。
次いで、得られたロッドレンズ原糸を166mmの長さに切断し、ロッドレンズを得た。
表13に示すように、このようにして得られたロッドレンズアレイは、波長470nm、525nm、630nmでの共役長Tcが大きく異なり、色収差の大きなレンズとなっていた。またレンズが白濁しているため、画像が歪んでおり、解像度が極めて低かった。また、波長470nm、525nm、630nmにおける耐熱試験後の平均MTFの低下は非常に小さかった。
また、作製したロッドレンズアレイを用いてカラーイメージセンサヘッドを作製し、読取りを行ったところ色のにじみがあり、またレンズが白濁しているため解像度が極めて低く、画像が歪んであり、極めて不鮮明な画像しか得られず、レンズとしての機能を果たさなかった。

- 中心から外周に向かうにつれて屈折率nDが減少している半径rの円柱状のロッドレンズであって、
芳香環含有単量体(a)単位と、
炭素数が3以上の分岐炭化水素基を有する(メタ)アクリレート(b)単位、フッ素含有単量体(c)単位、及び脂環含有(メタ)アクリレート(d)単位から選ばれる少なくとも一種の単量体単位と、
を構成単位として含有する重合体混合物(I)から構成され、
ガラス転移温度が100℃以上である透明なプラスチック製ロッドレンズ。 - 重合体混合物(I)が、さらにメチルメタクリレート(m)単位を構成単位として含有する請求項1に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズ。
- 重合体混合物(I)が、前記(a)単位と、前記(b)単位および前記(c)単位の少なくとも一種とを構成単位として含有する重合体混合物(II)であり、
中心部と外周部の屈折率差が0.02~0.06であり、

- 前記(a)単位がフェニルメタクリレートであり、前記(b)単位がt-ブチルメタクリレート、イソブチルメタクリレートおよびイソプロピルメタクリレートから選ばれる少なくとも一種であり、前記(c)単位が2,2,3,3-テトラフルオロプロピルメタクリレートである請求項3に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズ。
- 中心から外周に向かって0~0.5rの範囲において、いずれの位置においても重合体混合物(II)の前記(a)単位の含有量〔a〕が10~60質量%であり、
中心から外周に向かって0.8r~rの範囲において、いずれの位置においても重合体混合物(II)の前記(c)単位の含有量〔c〕が5~45質量%である請求項3に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズ。 - 中心から外周に向かって0.8r~rの範囲において、いずれの位置においても重合体混合物(II)の構成単位の組成が下記式(2)を満足する請求項3に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズ。

(ただし、式(2)において、〔b〕は構成単位(b)の含有量(質量%)を表し、〔c〕は構成単位(c)の含有量(質量%)を表す。) - 中心から外周に向かって0~0.8rの範囲において、いずれの位置においても重合体混合物(II)の構成単位の組成が下記式(3)を満足する請求項3に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズ。

中心から外周に向かって0~rの範囲における任意の異なる位置αおよびβにおいて、屈折率とアッベ数が下記式(4)を満足し、

中心から外周に向かって0~rの範囲において、いずれの位置においても重合体混合物(III)の構成単位の組成が、下記式(5)を満足する請求項1に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズ。

(ただし、式(5)において、〔a〕は構成単位(a)の含有量(質量%)を表し、〔b〕は構成単位(b)の含有量(質量%)を表す。) - 重合体混合物(III)が、さらにメチルメタクリレート(m)単位を構成単位として含有する請求項9に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズ。
- 前記(a)単位がフェニルメタクリレートであり、前記(b)単位がt-ブチルメタクリレート、イソブチルメタクリレートおよびイソプロピルメタクリレートから選ばれる少なくとも一種であり、前記(d)単位がトリシクロ[5.2.1.02,6]デカニルメタクリレートである請求項9に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズ。
- 中心から外周に向かって0.5r~rの範囲において、重合体混合物(III)の前記(a)単位の含有量〔a〕が5~72.5質量%であり、前記(b)単位の含有量〔b〕が2~36.7質量%である請求項9に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズ。
- 請求項1に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズの複数本が、各プラスチック製ロッドレンズの中心軸が互いに略平行となるように配列されたロッドレンズ列を、2枚の基板間に少なくとも1列備えるプラスチック製ロッドレンズアレイ。
- 請求項3に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズの複数本が、各プラスチック製ロッドレンズの中心軸が互いに略平行となるように配列されたロッドレンズ列を、2枚の基板間に少なくとも1列備えるプラスチック製ロッドレンズアレイ。
- 請求項9に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズの複数本が、各プラスチック製ロッドレンズの中心軸が互いに略平行となるように配列されたロッドレンズ列を、2枚の基板間に少なくとも1列備えるプラスチック製ロッドレンズアレイ。
- 請求項13に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズアレイを組み込んで作られたカラーイメージセンサヘッド。
- 請求項13に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズアレイを組み込んで作られたLEDプリンタヘッド。
- 請求項14に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズアレイを組み込んで作られたLEDプリンタヘッド。
- 請求項15に記載のプラスチック製ロッドレンズアレイを組み込んで作られたカラーイメージセンサヘッド。
