Abstract

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zum Ummanteln eines Körpers 10 einer Abgasanlage 1 mit einem um den Körper 10 gewickelten Gehäuse. Durch ein Wickelverfahren wird der Körper 10 in eine durch ein bandförmiges, in einer Förderrichtung 33 antreibbares Förderelement 3 gebildete Schlinge 30 eingelegt, wobei das Förderelement 3 mit einem Umschlingungswinkel u von zumindest 270 Grad an der äußeren Mantelfläche 16 anliegt. Daraufhin wird der Blechstreifen 20 mit einer ersten Kante 21 voran in einer Förderrichtung 33 zwischen den Körper 10 und das Förderelement 3 eingeführt, in den Spalt 4 zwischen dem Körper 10 und dem Förderelement 3 eingezogen und um den Körper 10 gebogen bis der Körper 10 mindestens zweimal von dem Blechstreifen 20 ummantelt ist.
