More specifically, FIG. 3 is a flowchart for explaining the operation of the projector that stores the background image data extracted from the video data before the resolution conversion shown in FIG. 1, and FIG. It is a flowchart for demonstrating operation
- the input signal processing unit 1 converts the DVD video signal into video data and outputs the video data to the resolution conversion unit 2 and the memory comparison unit 8 ( Step S102).
- the memory comparison unit 8 receives the video data, the target image indicated by the background image data is included in the input video indicated by the video data based on the video data and the background image data stored in the background screen memory unit 7. It is determined whether it is included (step S103).
- the memory comparison unit 8 determines that the DVD video signal is being reproduced, and sends a control signal indicating a normal state to the lamp operation adjustment unit 10 and the fan operation adjustment unit 11. Output to.
- the lamp operation adjusting unit 10 receives the control signal
- the lamp operation is turned on with the first brightness
- the fan operation adjusting unit 11 receives the control signal
- the fan operation adjusting unit 11 rotates the fan 13 at the first rotation speed. (Step S104).
- the memory comparison unit 8 returns to Step S103.
- the memory comparison unit 8 determines that the DVD video signal is not reproduced, and sends the control signal indicating the eco state to the lamp operation adjustment unit 10 and the fan operation. Output to the adjustment unit 11.
- the lamp operation adjusting unit 10 receives the control signal
- the lamp operation is turned on with the second brightness
- the fan operation adjusting unit 11 receives the control signal
- the fan operation adjusting unit 11 rotates the fan 13 at the second rotation speed. (Step S105).
- the memory comparison unit 8 returns to Step S103.
- the input signal processing unit 1 converts the DVD video signal into video data and outputs the video data to the resolution conversion unit 2 (step S102 ').
- the resolution conversion unit 2 Upon receiving the video data, the resolution conversion unit 2 converts the video data into a predetermined resolution and outputs it to the output signal processing unit 3 and the memory comparison unit 8 (step S106). Thereafter, when receiving the video data, the memory comparison unit 8 performs the processes of steps S103 to S105.
- the target image is an image designated by the rectangular area shown in FIG. 5, and the input video is the video shown in FIG.
- the memory comparison unit 8 evaluates the target image indicated by the background image data, and detects both adjacent pixels having the largest video level difference as reference points. Then, the memory comparison unit 8 stores the pixel positions and video levels of those reference points.
- the pixel position is represented by, for example, the number of lines in the vertical direction and the number of pixels in the horizontal direction.
- the pixels SA and SB are reference points
- the pixel position of the pixel SA is the “jth line, (k + 1) pixel”
- the pixel position of the pixel SB is “j line, (k + 1) pixel”.
- the reference point is detected from pixels adjacent in the horizontal direction, but the reference point may be detected from pixels adjacent in the vertical direction. Further, in addition to adjacent pixels having the largest difference in video level, three or more pixels may be detected as reference points by further using pixels near these pixels as reference points. Furthermore, among pixels adjacent to each other, a predetermined number of pixels in descending order of the video level are used as reference points, or pixels whose video level difference is equal to or greater than a threshold value are used as reference points. May be provided.
- the memory comparison unit 8 After storing the pixel position of the reference point and the video level, the memory comparison unit 8 then compares the input video indicated by the video data with the target image indicated by the background image data for each frame of the video data to obtain the input video. It is determined whether or not the target image is included.
- the memory comparison unit 8 selects one of the reference points, and searches the input video for a pixel whose video level matches the selected reference point (hereinafter referred to as pixel SA).
- the memory comparison unit 8 compares the video level of each pixel of the input video with the pixel SA in order from the first pixel of the first line of the input video, thereby matching the video level of the pixel SA. Search for pixels from the input video. Even if the video levels do not completely match, the memory comparison unit 8 determines that the video levels match if the difference in the video levels is within a specified value (eg, ⁇ 5 [%]). Also good.
- a specified value eg, ⁇ 5 [%]
- the memory comparison unit 8 determines that the target video is not included in the input video and ends the processing.
- the memory comparison unit 8 determines that the target video may be included in the input video, and the input video whose video level matches the pixel SA.
- the pixel position of the pixel IA is stored. In FIG. 6, it is assumed that the pixel position of the pixel IA is “m line, n pixel”.
- the memory comparison unit 8 compares the video level of the other pixel SB of the reference point with the video level of the pixel IB of the (n + 1) th pixel on the m-th line of the input video. Then, it is determined whether or not these video levels match each other.
- the relative positional relationship between the pixel SA and the pixel SB is the same as the relative positional relationship between the pixel IA and the pixel IB.
- the video levels are compared in the order of the pixels SA and SB. However, it is actually preferable to compare the video levels in order from the pixel having the highest video level among the reference points.
- the memory comparison unit 8 searches the input video for another pixel whose video level matches the pixel SA.
- the memory comparison unit 8 considers that each pixel of the target image corresponds to the pixel position of the reference point and the shape and size of the region of the target image. Each pixel of the input video to be determined is determined.
- the memory comparing unit 8 compares the video level of the pixel of the target image with the video level of the pixel of the input video corresponding to the pixel of the target image in order from the first pixel of the first line of the target image.
- the pixel of the target image to be compared with the video level is the pixel SX and the pixel of the input video with which the video level is compared is IX
- the relative positional relationship between the pixel SA and the pixel SX is the pixel IA. This is the same as the relative positional relationship with the pixel IX.
- the memory comparing unit 8 firstly, the video level of the first pixel of the first line of the target image and the (n ⁇ k + 1) pixel of the (m ⁇ j + 1) line of the input video. Compare the video level of the eye. After that, the memory comparison unit 8 selects the second pixel of the first line of the target image, the third pixel of the first line,... The last pixel of the first line, the first pixel of the second line,. The video level of the pixel is compared with the video level of the input video pixel corresponding to the pixel.
- the memory comparison unit 8 determines whether or not the target image is included in the input video based on the comparison result.
- the memory comparison unit 8 determines that the target image is included in the input video when the video levels match for all the pixels in the target image. At this time, if the memory comparison unit 8 determines that the video level does not match for a certain pixel, it is desirable to immediately increase the determination speed by determining that the target image is not included in the input video.
- the memory comparison unit 8 determines that the target image is included in the input video when the ratio of the pixels determined to have the same video level for all the pixels in the target image is equal to or higher than a specified value (for example, 95%). May be. In this case, a correct determination can be made even if the contour of the target image slightly changes due to the influence of noise or resolution conversion.
- the memory comparison unit 8 may determine the video level for a certain area in the target image, and may determine whether the target image is included in the input video based on the determination result.
- the memory comparing unit 8 determines up to 10 [%] of the entire area of the target image, and then the mismatch rate, which is a ratio of the number of pixels determined to have a mismatched video level with respect to the determined number of pixels. Is calculated.
- the mismatch rate is equal to or greater than a specified value (for example, 5%)
- the memory comparison unit 8 determines that the target image is not included in the input video.
- the memory comparison unit 8 updates the mismatch rate while continuing the comparison of the video levels.
- the memory comparing unit 8 determines that the target image is not included in the input video at that time, and the mismatch rate remains below the specified value for all the pixels of the target image. When the determination is completed, it is determined that the target image is included in the input video.
- the memory comparison unit 8 does not need to compare the video levels for the pixels corresponding to the missing part, and may determine that the video levels match.
- the memory comparison unit 8 performs the above determination for a plurality of frames in order to reduce erroneous determination due to a case where a part of the target image in the input image is missing, and based on the determination results for the plurality of frames. It may be determined whether or not the target image is included in the input video.
- each gradation level of each color signal may be used instead of the video level.
- each gradation level of each color signal of the target image may be compared with all of the color signals of the input image.
- the memory comparison unit 8 sets the gain of the video level of the pixel of the input video to the video level of the pixel of the target image for the first pixel to be compared with the video level. For the second and subsequent pixels for which the video level is calculated and compared, the value obtained by correcting the video level of the pixel of the input video with the gain may be compared with the video level of the pixel of the target image.
- the memory comparison unit 8 may calculate the gain for a plurality of pixels and correct the video level of the other pixels using the average value. . In this case, the memory comparison unit 8 may evaluate the gain variation with a standard deviation or the like, and may determine that the target image is not included in the input video if the evaluation value is equal to or greater than a specified value.
- the video level of a pixel for which gain is calculated is less than or equal to a specified value (near 0)
- a specified value near 0
- the error may increase, so that gain calculation is not performed for that pixel from the video level of another pixel.
- the gain may be calculated.
- an enlarged image or a reduced image of the target image may be taken into consideration, but characters and logotypes specified as the target image are rarely enlarged or reduced in the DVD background image or the screen saver image. Furthermore, since characters and logotypes that are designated as target images may be enlarged or reduced in presentations or demonstration images, malfunctions may occur if the enlarged or reduced images of the target image are taken into account. It can be a cause. For this reason, it is not necessary to consider the enlarged image or the reduced image of the target image, or the user may be able to set whether to detect the enlarged image or the reduced image.
- the background screen memory unit 7 stores target image data indicating a predetermined target image.
- the memory comparison unit 8 determines whether the target image is included in the video indicated by the input video signal based on the target image data and the input video signal.
- the control unit changes the lighting state of the lamp 12 according to the determination result of the memory comparison unit 8.
- control unit changes the rotation state of the fan 13 for cooling the lamp 12 according to the determination result of the memory comparison unit 8. Therefore, it is possible to increase the power consumption reduction effect.
- the extraction unit 6 extracts, from the video data, image data indicating an image included in an area designated by the user from the video indicated by the video data as the target image data.
- the target image data is stored in the background screen memory unit 7.
- the processing mainly during power activation has been described.
- the processing during power activation standby specifically, the input video signal is changed from the background image to the reproduced video during power activation standby.
- a process for starting the power supply after switching will be described.
- FIG. 7 and 8 are flowcharts for explaining the operation of the projector according to the present embodiment. More specifically, FIG. 7 is a flowchart for explaining the operation of the projector in which the video data before resolution conversion is stored in the background screen memory unit 7 shown in FIG. 1, and FIG. 7 is a flowchart for explaining an operation of a projector in which video data after resolution conversion is stored in the background screen memory section shown.
- the input signal processing unit 1 converts the DVD video signal into video data, and the resolution conversion unit 2 and It outputs to the memory comparison part 8 (step S202).
- the target image indicated by the background image data is included in the input video indicated by the video data based on the video data and the background image data stored in the background screen memory unit 7. It is determined whether it is included (step S203).
- the memory comparison unit 8 determines that the video data has been switched from the background screen to the DVD playback video, and outputs a projection power activation signal to the power activation processing unit 9.
- the power activation processing unit 9 receives the projection power activation signal, the power activation processing unit 9 starts supplying power to the lamp operation adjusting unit 10 and the fan operation adjusting unit 11 (step S204).
- the lamp operation adjusting unit 10 turns on the lamp 12 with the first brightness.
- the fan operation adjustment unit 11 rotates the fan 13 at the first rotation speed (step S205).
- the memory comparison unit 8 determines that the video data is the background screen and maintains the power activation standby state (step S206). Thereafter, the memory comparison unit 8 returns to step S203.
- the input signal processing unit 1 converts the DVD video signal into video data and sends it to the resolution conversion unit 2.
- Output step S202 ′).
