Abstract
Description
しかしながら、ここで見出されたエピスルフィド化合物は、反応条件によってはオリゴマーやポリマーが生成し易く、その結果、反応収率の低下が発生した。そのため、エピスルフィド化合物を製造するための反応条件の最適化が望まれていた。
エピスルフィド化の反応条件に関しては、特許文献4に示されるように極性有機溶媒と非極性有機溶媒の混合溶媒中、酸および/または酸無水物の存在下で反応を進行させる手法が提案されている。
エポキシ化合物を相当するイソチウロニウム塩としたのち、アンモニア、またはアンモニウム塩で加水分解する方法も、特許文献7に提案されている。しかしながらこの方法もイソチウロニウム塩を生成するために相当量の酸を必要とし、またこれを加水分解するために相当量のアンモニア、またはアンモニウム塩が必要であることから、製造工程が複雑化し、コスト面で不利である。しかも収率については記載がなく、実用可能かどうか不明確である。
このように、エピスルフィド化合物の製造方法においては酸を添加する方法が提案されている。しかしながら、これら文献で用いられている酸は臭気を伴うものが多いため臭気対策が必要であること、また腐食対策が必要なこと、場合によっては中和のため相当量の塩基を必要とすることから、改善が求められていた。
すなわち、本発明は以下の通りである。
<1> 下記(1)式で表される構造を有するエポキシ化合物とチオ尿素とをアンモニウム塩の存在下で反応させて、下記(2)式で表される構造を有するエピスルフィド化合物を製造することを特徴とする、エピスルフィド化合物の製造方法である。

<2> 前記(1)式の化合物が下記(3)式で表され、前記(2)式の化合物が下記(4)式で表される、上記<1>に記載のエピスルフィド化合物の製造方法である。
(ただし、mは0~4の整数、nは0または1の整数を表す。)

<3> 前記アンモニウム塩が、硝酸アンモニウム、硫酸アンモニウム、塩化アンモニウムからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種である、上記<1>または<2>に記載のエピスルフィド化合物の製造方法である。
<4> 酸を加えることなしに、前記エポキシ化合物と前記チオ尿素とを反応させる、上記<1>から<3>のいずれかに記載のエピスルフィド化合物の製造方法である。
鎖状脂肪族骨格を有する化合物としては、下記(4)式で表される化合物が挙げられる。
(ただし、mは0~4の整数、nは0または1の整数を表す。)
(p、qはそれぞれ0~4の整数を表す。)

芳香族骨格を有する化合物としては、下記(7)式で表される化合物が挙げられる。

また、脂肪族環状骨格を有するエピスルフィド化合物としては、1,3および1,4-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)シクロヘキサン((5)式でp=0、q=0)、1,3および1,4-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオメチル)シクロヘキサン((5)式でp=1、q=1)、ビス〔4-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)シクロヘキシル〕メタン、2,2-ビス〔4-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)シクロヘキシル〕プロパン、ビス〔4-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)シクロヘキシル〕スルフィド、2,5-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)-1,4-ジチアン((6)式でp=0、q=0)、2,5-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオメチル)-1,4-ジチアン((6)式でp=1、q=1)、2,5-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオエチルチオメチル)-1,4-ジチアン等を挙げることができる。
また、芳香族骨格を有するエピスルフィド化合物としては、1,3および1,4-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)ベンゼン((7)式でp=0、q=0)、1,3および1,4-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオメチル)ベンゼン((7)式でp=1、q=1)、ビス〔4-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)フェニル〕メタン、2,2-ビス〔4-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)フェニル〕プロパン、ビス〔4-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)フェニル〕スルフィド、ビス〔4-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)フェニル〕スルフィン、4,4-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)ビフェニル等を挙げることができる。
本発明で用いるチオ尿素の使用量は量論以上であれば構わないが、経済性を考慮すれば通常は1.0~5.0当量、好ましくは1.0~2.0当量、最も好ましくは1.1~1.8当量である。
アンモニウム塩の使用量は、経済性を考慮すれば通常エポキシ総量に対して0.01~20重量%の範囲で用いられるが、好ましくは0.1~15重量%、最も好ましくは0.5~10重量%である。0.01重量%よりも少ない場合は抽出、洗浄の際に不溶物が析出する場合があり、20重量%より多い場合は除去のため水洗回数が増え、廃液量が増える可能性がある。
使用する非極性溶媒としては、ペンタン、ヘキサン、ヘプタン等の脂肪族炭化水素類、ベンゼン、トルエン等の芳香族炭化水素類が挙げられる。好ましくは芳香族炭化水素類であり、最も好ましくはトルエンである。
使用する極性溶媒としては、メタノール、エタノール等のアルコール類、ジエチルエーテル、テトラヒドロフラン、ジオキサン等のエーテル類、メチルセルソルブ、エチルセルソルブ、ブチルセルソルブ等のヒドロキシエーテル類、アセトン、メチルエチルケトン等のケトン類が挙げられるが、好ましくはアルコール類であり、最も好ましくはメタノールである。
また、極性溶媒のみを使用しても良い。この場合においても、エポキシ化合物を微量ずつ、時間をかけて極性溶媒に加えることにより、エピスルフィド化の反応を進行させることができる。
反応温度は通常0~60℃で行われるが、10~50℃が好ましく、最も好ましくは10~40℃である。0℃より低い場合は反応速度が低下し、60℃より高い場合は得られるエピスルフィドが着色する場合がある。反応時間は、上記の条件下で反応が完結する時間であれば構わないが、通常は20時間以下、好ましくは15時間以下である。圧力については、減圧、常圧、加圧のいずれでも構わないが、常圧が好ましい。好ましくは窒素雰囲気下での反応である。
こうして得られるエピスルフィド化合物は、再結晶、再沈殿、カラム分離操作、吸着剤処理、イオン交換樹脂処理等の精製法により精製することが可能である。なお、これらの製造は大気下でも実施できるが、原料及び製品等の酸化および着色の防止に万全を期すため、窒素雰囲気下で行うことが好ましい。
チオ尿素305g、メタノール1360ml、トルエン680ml、硝酸アンモニウム10g、ビス(β-エポキシプロピル)スルフィド((3)式においてn=0)146gを混合し、窒素雰囲気下20℃で9時間反応させた。反応中にポリマーの析出は見られなかった。反応後、トルエン1720mlと10%硫酸水溶液210mlを投入して抽出したのち、水130mlで4回洗浄し、トルエンを留去して、ビス(β-エピチオプロピル)スルフィド((4)式においてn=0)を137g得た。収率は77%であった。結果を表1に示した。
硝酸アンモニウムの代わりに表1に示したアンモニウム塩を等重量用いる以外は実施例1を繰り返した。結果を表1に示した。
実施例1で硝酸アンモニウムの量を5gにする以外は実施例1を繰り返した。結果を表1に示した。
硝酸アンモニウムを用いない以外は実施例1を繰り返した。反応中にポリマーが析出し、ビス(β-エピチオプロピル)スルフィドは得られなかった。結果を表1に示した。
硝酸アンモニウムの代わりに無水酢酸18gを使用する以外は実施例1を繰り返した。結果を表1に示した。
硝酸アンモニウムの代わりに無水酢酸10gを使用する以外は実施例1を繰り返した。結果を表1に示した。

チオ尿素305g、メタノール3000ml、トルエン1500ml、硝酸アンモニウム10g、1,3-ビス(β-エポキシプロピルチオメチル)ベンゼン325gを混合し、窒素雰囲気下20℃で9時間反応させた。反応中にポリマーの析出は見られなかった。反応後、トルエン3800mlと10%硫酸水溶液460mlを投入して抽出したのち、水300mlで4回洗浄し、トルエンを留去して、1,3-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオメチル)ベンゼン((7)式でp=1、q=1)を288g得た。収率は81%であった。結果を表2に示した。
硝酸アンモニウムの代わりに硫酸アンモニウムを等重量用いる以外は実施例6を繰り返した。結果を表2に示した。
硝酸アンモニウムの代わりに無水酢酸18gを使用する以外は実施例6を繰り返した。結果を表2に示した。
チオ尿素305g、メタノール3000ml、トルエン1500ml、硝酸アンモニウム10g、1,4-ビス(β-エポキシプロピルチオメチル)シクロヘキサン332gを混合し、窒素雰囲気下20℃で9時間反応させた。反応中にポリマーの析出は見られなかった。反応後、トルエン3800mlと10%硫酸水溶液460mlを投入して抽出したのち、水300mlで4回洗浄し、トルエンを留去して、1,4-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオメチル)シクロヘキサン((5)式でp=1、q=1)を295g得た。収率は80%であった。結果を表3に示した。
硝酸アンモニウムの代わりに硫酸アンモニウムを等重量用いる以外は実施例8を繰り返した。結果を表3に示した。
硝酸アンモニウムの代わりに無水酢酸18gを使用する以外は実施例8を繰り返した。結果を表3に示した。
チオ尿素305g、メタノール3000ml、トルエン1500ml、硝酸アンモニウム10g、2,5-ビス(β-エポキシプロピルチオメチル)-1,4-ジチアン373gを混合し、窒素雰囲気下20℃で9時間反応させた。反応中にポリマーの析出は見られなかった。反応後、トルエン3800mlと10%硫酸水溶液460mlを投入して抽出したのち、水300mlで4回洗浄し、トルエンを留去して、2,5-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオメチル)-1,4-ジチアン((6)式でp=1、q=1)を340g得た。収率は83%であった。結果を表4に示した。
硝酸アンモニウムの代わりに硫酸アンモニウムを等重量用いる以外は実施例10を繰り返した。結果を表4に示した。
硝酸アンモニウムの代わりに無水酢酸18gを使用する以外は実施例10を繰り返した。結果を表4に示した。
Claims (4)
- 前記アンモニウム塩が、硝酸アンモニウム、硫酸アンモニウム、及び塩化アンモニウムからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種である、請求項1または2に記載のエピスルフィド化合物の製造方法。
- 酸を加えることなしに、前記エポキシ化合物と前記チオ尿素とを反応させる、請求項1から3のいずれかに記載のエピスルフィド化合物の製造方法。
