前記した車室内への遮音対策はいずれも有効ではあるが、更なる車室内への遮音が求められており、この点でグロメットの改良の余地がある。
前記第1グロメットと第2グロメットはいずれもワイヤハーネスを密着して挿通しテープ巻き固定する小径筒部と、該小径筒部の一端と連続する大径筒部とを、ゴムまたはエストラマーで一体成形しており、

このように、スタッドボルトを圧入するボルト圧入穴を、第2グロメットの傾斜壁部に設け、かつ、該ボルト圧入穴をスタッドボルトの軸線方向と非平行に設けることにより、スタッドボルトの圧入時に該スタッドボルトの軸線方向と一時的に平行となったボルト圧入穴が、第2グロメットの弾性により本来の貫通方向である非平行方向に戻ろうとするため、この弾性復元力によってボルト圧入穴のスタッドボルトへの引っ掛かりを高め、スタッドボルトによる第2グロメットの支持を一層確実で安定したものとすることができる。
前記構成とすると、第1グロメットは防水・防塵性に優れたものとできると共にエンジンルーム等の車室外の騒音が貫通穴を通して車室内に侵入するのを防止できる。また、第2グロメットでは、車室外の騒音を第2グロメット内に密閉でき、車室内への騒音を低減できる。
また、第2グロメットのボルト圧入穴をスタッドボルトよりも小径としているため、ボルト圧入穴の内周面をスタッドボルトの外周面に密着させることができる。これらにより、車体パネルおよびスタッドボルトと第2グロメットとの間に隙間が発生することを有効に防止でき、第2グロメットによる遮音性能を向上させることができる。

グロメット10は、自動車のエンジンルーム側(車室外側)Xと車室内側Yとを仕切る車体パネル(ダッシュパネル)Pに穿設されたワイヤハーネス貫通穴H(以下、貫通穴Hと略する)に挿通するワイヤハーネス30に外嵌して、貫通穴Hの周縁に装着するものである。

前記第1グロメット11と第2グロメット21とは別体であり、それぞれゴムまたはエラストマーで一体成形している。

該第2グロメットの大径筒部23の先端側開口の内径は、図1に示すように、第1グロメット11の大径筒部14の先端側開口の内径よりも大としている。
また、図4(A)に示すように、第1グロメット11のボルト穴16にスタッドボルト31の一側部を通してナット32で締結しておく。即ち、第1、第2グロメット11、21を互いの大径筒部14、23の先端開口を対向した状態でワイヤハーネス30に取り付け、かつ、スタッドボルト31を第1グロメット11に取り付けている。
図4(B)に示すように、エンジンルームと車室内とを仕切る水平方向の車体パネルPの貫通穴Hにワイヤハーネス30を上方から下向きへと通し、第2グロメット21の全体を貫通穴Hを挿通させて、車体パネルPの下方の車室内側Yに引き出す。

Claims (4)
- ワイヤハーネス貫通穴を穿設した車体パネルの両面にそれぞれ当接配置する第1グロメットと第2グロメットを備え、
前記第1グロメットと第2グロメットはいずれもワイヤハーネスを密着して挿通しテープ巻き固定する小径筒部と、該小径筒部の一端と連続する大径筒部とを、ゴムまたはエストラマーで一体成形しており、
前記第1、第2グロメットの各大径筒部の先端開口側端面が前記車体パネルの両面に当接配置され、
前記車体パネルのワイヤハーネス貫通穴の周縁に穿設したボルト穴に挿通固定して該車体パネルの両面から突出するスタッドボルトの一側部を、前記第1グロメットに設けたボルト穴に通してナットで固定すると共に、該スタッドボルトの他側部を前記第2グロメットに設けたボルト圧入穴に通して第2グロメットを支持する構成としていることを特徴とする車両用のグロメット。 - 水平方向の車体パネルの上方となるエンジンルーム側の車室外側に前記第1グロメットを配置して防水・防塵用グロメットとし、前記第2グロメットを車体パネルの下方となる車室内側に配置して遮音用グロメットとしている請求項1に記載の車両用のグロメット。
- 前記第2グロメットの大径筒部の傾斜壁部に前記スタッドボルトより小径とした前記ボルト圧入穴を設け、かつ、該ボルト圧入穴は前記スタッドボルトの軸線方向と非平行に設けている請求項1または請求項2に記載の車両用のグロメット。
- 前記第1グロメットの前記大径筒部の開口端の内径より前記第2グロメットの大径筒部の開口端の内径は大とし、かつ、該第1、第2グロメットの大径筒部の開口端の周縁より車体パネルに密着するシールリップ部を突設した鍔部を設けている請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか1項に記載の車両用のグロメット。
