Definitions
- the present invention relates to an aromatic amine derivative and an organic electroluminescence (EL) device using the same, and in particular, by using an aromatic amine derivative having a specific structure as a hole transport material, high efficiency can be achieved even at high temperatures.
- the present invention relates to an aromatic amine derivative which can be obtained and can improve the lifetime of an organic EL element, and an organic EL element using the same.
- An organic EL element is a self-luminous element utilizing the principle that a fluorescent substance emits light by recombination energy of holes injected from an anode and electrons injected from a cathode by applying an electric field.
- Eastman Kodak's C.I. W. Tang et al. Reported on a low-voltage driven organic EL element using a stacked element (C.W. Tang, S.A. Vanslyke, Applied Physics Letters, 51, 913, 1987, etc.). Since then, researches on organic EL elements using organic materials as constituent materials have been actively conducted. Tang et al.
- the element structure of the organic EL element includes a hole transport (injection) layer, a two-layer type of an electron transport light emitting layer, or a hole transport (injection) layer, a light emitting layer, and an electron transport (injection) layer A three-layer type is well known.
- the element structure and the formation method are devised in order to increase the recombination efficiency of injected holes and electrons.
- the present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and an object thereof is to provide an organic electroluminescence device having an effect of lowering a driving voltage and having a long lifetime and an aromatic amine derivative that realizes the same.
- the present inventors have used a novel aromatic amine derivative having a specific substituent containing a carbazole structure as a material for an organic EL device, particularly hole injection. It has been found that the above-mentioned problems can be solved when used as a material or a hole transport material.
- aromatic amine derivatives an amine compound having a structure in which an N-carbazolyl group is bonded to an amine via an aryl group has a steric hindrance so that there is little interaction between molecules, and the symmetry of the compound. Therefore, the crystallization was suppressed and the yield for producing the organic EL device could be improved.
- a compound in which an N-carbazolyl group is bonded to an amine via an aryl group has a large energy gap (Eg) and can effectively block electrons from the light emitting layer. In order to suppress the injection of electrons, the effect of improving the luminous efficiency was obtained.
- amine compounds having a structure in which a 3-carbazolyl group is bonded to an amine via an aryl group are less sterically hindered, resulting in less intermolecular interactions and lower symmetries in the compounds, thus suppressing crystallization. As a result, the yield for manufacturing the organic EL element could be improved.
- an amine compound having a structure in which a 3-carbazolyl group is bonded to an amine via an aryl group has a larger ionization potential (IP) than an amine compound having a structure in which a 3-carbazolyl group is directly bonded to an amine, and emits light.
- IP ionization potential
- the hole injection property into the layer was excellent, and the effect of lowering the driving voltage was obtained.
- a compound in which a 3-carbazolyl group is bonded to an amine via an aryl group is excellent in oxidation stability and has an effect of extending the lifetime, particularly when combined with a blue light emitting device, the voltage is lowered significantly and the lifetime is extended. The effect to make was obtained. Based on these findings, the inventors have completed the present invention.

Abstract
Description

また、前記の合成については公知技術(特開2003-171366号公報、WO2006/114921号公報、WO2006/073054号公報、WO2007/125714号公報、WO2008/062636号公報)中に記載された個別の類似合成法を用いてもよい。
