It is. As shown in FIG. 11, the liquid crystal composition of the present invention containing 12.556% by weight of SH556 could contain up to 12.96% by weight of cetyl isooctanoate. Moreover, the liquid crystal composition of the present invention containing 11.556% by weight of SH556 could contain liquid paraffin up to 11.54% by weight.
- liquid crystal composition of the present invention can solubilize ester oils such as cetyl isooctanoate and hydrocarbon oils such as liquid paraffin.
- Example 7 This example shows that among surfactants, silicone surfactants are compatible with phenyl-modified silicone oil.
- HCO40 polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil
- AOT sodium bis (2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate
- EOD polyoxyethylene octyldodexyl ether
- the surfactant and pure water were mixed until uniform, and 80 wt% SS-2804 / SS-2910 aqueous solution (lamellar liquid crystal), 70 wt% HCO40 aqueous solution (hexagonal liquid crystal), A 70 wt% AOT aqueous solution (lamellar liquid crystal) and an 80 wt% EOD aqueous solution (lamellar liquid crystal) were prepared.
- the weight ratio of the two surfactants in the SS-2804 / SS-2910 aqueous solution is 1: 1.
- SH556 was added to each surfactant aqueous solution, and the liquid crystal composition of this invention and the liquid crystal composition of the comparative example were prepared.
- solubilization concentration of SH556 was evaluated.
- the solubilization concentration (solubilization limit concentration) of SH556 was measured by visually observing white turbidity or phase separation.
- FIG. 12 is a graph showing the solubilized concentration of SH556 when SH556 is added to the surfactant aqueous solution.
- the liquid crystal composition containing the silicone-based surfactant could contain more SH556 than the liquid crystal composition containing other hydrocarbon-based surfactant.
- the silicone surfactant is compatible with the phenyl-modified silicone oil.
- Table 5 is a table showing the relationship between the amount of pure water and the presence or absence of a liquid crystal structure for a mixture of one type of surfactant and pure water.
- silicone surfactant having an HLB of 4.0 to 10.0 and a viscosity of 400 mm 2 / s or more should be used. It is understood that is preferable.
- Table 6 is a table showing the relationship between the combination of two kinds of surfactants and the presence or absence of a liquid crystal structure.
- a liquid crystal can be formed by combining two or more types of silicone surfactants and water.
- the liquid crystal composition of the present invention can solubilize poorly soluble hydrophobic compounds (for example, hydrocarbon oils such as squalane and fatty acids such as oleic acid and lipoic acid). Therefore, the liquid crystal composition of the present invention is useful, for example, as a toiletry material or a cosmetic material.
- poorly soluble hydrophobic compounds for example, hydrocarbon oils such as squalane and fatty acids such as oleic acid and lipoic acid. Therefore, the liquid crystal composition of the present invention is useful, for example, as a toiletry material or a cosmetic material.
