上述した特許文献1、2に示されたクランプ機構は、いずれも剛性の低いものであって、アングルツールによる重切削に耐える能力は小さい。
本発明の目的は、立形マシニングセンタに付設して強力な5面加工を達成することができる5面加工アタッチメントユニットを提供するものである。
そして、4基のコレットチャックは、油圧ピストンにより開閉する爪を有し、クランプユニットが上昇した位置にあっては、爪を閉じ、クランプユニットが下降してアングルツールホルダのスタッドボルトを把持した後に再度爪を閉じる。4基のコレットチャックは、クランプユニットの動作に連動して開閉するシャッター装置を備えて、異物の混入を防止するが、更に4基のコレットチャックはエアブロー装置により内圧を高めている。
全体を符号1で示す立形マシニングセンタは、ベース10上にX軸方向に移動するテーブル20を有する。
ベース10上には門形のコラム30が立設され、門形のコラム30の前面に設けられたガイドレールに支持されたサドル40がY軸方向に移動する。
ベース10上には、ブラケット410がとりつけられ、ツールマガジン400が装備される。ツールマガジン400には、各種の交換工具T1が格納されていて、ATCアーム420は、主軸70に対して必要な工具を交換自在に供給する。
主軸ヘッド50の下端部には円筒形状の主軸ハウジング60が突出しており、主軸70を回転自在に支持している。
5面加工アタッチメントユニット100は、主軸ハウジング60に嵌装されて主軸ヘッド50の下端部に固定されるリング型シリンダ部材110を有し、クランプユニット130はリング型シリンダ部材110内のリング型ピストン120に直結されて昇降動する。
クランプユニット130の下面には円周上に4基のコレットチャック140が装備される。
後述する態様によって、プルスタッドボルト270がクランプユニット130のコレットチャック140にクランプされたときには、アングルツールホルダ200の回転を規制して切削抵抗を受ける。プルスタッドボルト270がアンクランプ時には、アーム250はシャンク210とともに旋回動して4個のコレットチャック140の位置に割り出される。
この状態では、アングルカッタ220は加工可能な状態となる。
5面加工アタッチメントユニット100は、リング型シリンダ部材110を有し、リング型シリンダ部材110はボルト112により主軸ヘッド側に固定される。リング型シリンダ部材110内には油圧室114が設けられ、リング形状のピストン120が摺動自在に嵌装される。油圧室114にはピストン120を作動するための油圧ポート116a、116bが連通される。
コレットチャック140は本体150内に油圧室152を有し、油圧室152内にピストン142が摺動自在に挿入される。
ピストン142は爪144を開閉操作する。油圧室152に連通するポート154a、154bが形成される。
この作動中には、ピストン142は上方へ付勢されていて、爪144は閉じている。
プルスタッドボルト270に対向するコレットチャック140のピストン142は油圧により下方へ付勢され、爪144を開く。
コレットチャック140はアーム250のプルスタッドボルト270を受け入れる。
レバー260の端部262は、シャフト212の切欠部との係合を解く。
この状態では、アングルツールホルダ200のアーム250は5面加工アタッチメントユニット100のクランプユニット130に確実に把持される。
シャンク210と一体のシャフト212は、主軸側から伝達される動力によりアングルカッタ220を駆動して、ワークに5面加工を施す。
レバー260は、シャフト212と切り離されており、干渉を生ずることは防止される。
アーム250の有底の穴254には、シャフト280が挿入され、ボルト282により固定されている。シャフト280の上端にはプルスタッドボルト270がねじ部272を利用して立設される。
レバー260は、シャフト280の外周部に嵌合される内径部264を有し、シャフト280に摺動自在に支持される。レバー260の内端部262の近傍には穴が設けられ、アーム250に立設された突起252に差し込まれる。
レバー260はスプリング266により、アーム250から離れる方向に付勢され、レバー260の端部262はシャフト212の切欠部に係合されて割り出しが行なわれる。
また、4基のコレットチャックのうち、アングルツールの把持に関与しない3基のコレットチャックはその爪を閉じた状態に保つ。
5面加工アタッチメントユニット100は主軸に装備されるために、加工時に切削液や切粉等が噴霧する厳しい環境に露出される。
そこで使用されない3基のコレットチャック140の開口部からの異物の浸入を防止する装置を備えることが望ましい。
5面加工アタッチメントユニット100のクランプユニット130の下端面には4基のコレットチャック140が設けられ、各コレットチャック140の周囲はシャッター装置300のハウジング305で覆われる。
ハウジング305の下面にはコレットチャック140の開口部を挟んで対向する1対のブレードが設けられる。
第1のブレード310は第1のブレードの回動軸320に支持され、第1のブレードの駆動機構はハウジング305内に装備される。
第1のブレード310に対向する第2のブレード330は第2のブレードの回動軸340に支持され、第2のブレードの駆動機構はハウジング305内に装備される。
この状態から、対向する第1のブレード310、第2のブレード330は回動軸320、340を中心に旋回し、互いに閉じて接触してコレットチャック140の開口部を封止する。
シャッター装置300は、ハウジング352内に形成される油圧室354を有し、ピストン350が挿入される。油圧室354には、ピストン350を挟んでポート362、364が設けられる。このポート362、364にはコレットチャックを操作するピストン142の油圧室152に対して供給される作動油が同時に供給される。
ピストン350の下端部にはコロ356がとりつけてあり、コロ356は第1のリンク370の長穴371に係合して第1のリンク370を回動させる。第1のリンク370はコイルスプリング372を介して第2のリンク374を回動させる。
上述した構成により、ピストン350の上下動によりリング部材380が回動すると、1対のブレード310、330は回動軸320、340を中心に旋回動する。
本発明のシャッター装置300は、以上のように、アングルツールホルダのアームを把持するコレットチャックを操作するピストンと同期してブレードを開閉するので、アングルツールホルダのアームの把持に参加しないコレットチャックの開口部を封止して異物の浸入を防止する。
また、シャッター装置300の内部にエアーを導入して内圧を外部より高く保つことにより、異物の浸入をより確実に防止することができるものである。

- 立形マシニングセンタの主軸ヘッドに装着される5面加工用アタッチメントユニットであって、
5面加工用アタッチメントユニットは、主軸ヘッドの下端部に突出して主軸を支持する主軸ハウジングの外周部に嵌装されて主軸ヘッドに固定されるリング型シリンダ部材と、
リング型シリンダ部材内のリング型ピストンに直結されて昇降動するクランプユニットと、
クランプユニットの下面の円周上に等間隔に設けられる4基のコレットチャックを備え、
