- the initial lens shape data from which a desired prescription value can be obtained is created (step S2).
- the initial lens shape data defines at least the shape of the lens front surface and the lens rear surface, and their relative positions and orientations. Thereafter, the shape data of the rear surface of the lens is corrected with respect to the initial lens shape data.
- the initial lens shape data will be described when the front surface is a spherical surface and the rear surface is a spherical surface or a toroidal surface.
- the target prism distribution calculation processing unit 132 calculates, at each point on the lens, the prism action that the light ray passing through the center of the eyeball rotates receives without the lens front angle. (Step S3). That is, first, the lens having the initial shape was arranged in front of the eye by a predetermined distance without providing a lens front angle so that the lens fitting point is positioned on the reference frontal line of sight assumed in the optical design. The state is assumed in the optical design (an example of the arrangement state of the eyeball and the lens assumed in the optical design in step S3 is shown in FIG. 1B).
- the distance between the lens and the eye at this time is preferably set so that the distance between the rear surface of the lens and the center of rotation on the reference front line of sight becomes a predetermined value. Then, in the assumed optical design arrangement state, a prism action that is received by a plurality of light beams that pass through the center of rotation of the eye and include the front viewing direction is calculated by the lens having the initial lens shape. The obtained prism action value at each point on the lens is set as a target prism distribution (a).

Then, in the optical design, it is assumed that the lens of the initial shape is tilted outward in the horizontal direction around the fitting point by the calculated lens front angle in the arrangement state assumed in the optical design in step S3.
- the prism action correction processing unit 133 corrects the shape data of the rear surface of the lens based on the prism action that the front line of sight receives when the lens having the initial lens shape has the lens front angle (step S5). That is, in step S5, the prism action received by the lens in the front view direction passing through the center of rotation of the eye in the arrangement state assumed in the optical design in step S4 in the arrangement state assumed in the optical design in step S3. - the post-correction prism distribution calculation processing unit 135 calculates the prism action in the state having the lens front angle with respect to the lens shape after the orientation correction step obtained in step S5 (step S6). That is, here, in the arrangement state assumed in the optical design by the step S5, the prism action that the lens receives by the one or more rays passing through the center of rotation of the eye other than the front view direction is calculated at each point on the lens. - Steps S6 to S9 form a loop and are repeated until the amount of deviation with respect to the target prism action falls within an allowable range.
- the deviation amount determination processing unit 136 determines in step 8 that the deviation amount is within the allowable range, the prism action correction process is finished, and a lens design shape with reduced prism action distribution bias can be obtained. That is, the prism front receives one or more light rays other than the front view direction passing through the center of rotation of the eye assumed in optical design, which is received by the lens having the lens shape after the orientation correction step in a state having a lens front angle.

- the rear surface of the lens may be aspherical or non-troidal so as to reduce the increased astigmatism and power error.
- the deviation amount of the corrected prism action distribution (b) with respect to the target prism action distribution (a) is left to some extent without completely removing it. Can be done.

Abstract
