- FIG. 2 is a circuit diagram equivalently showing the operation of the AC / DC converter 100.
- the operation of the AC / DC converter 100 can be handled equivalently as if the virtual AC power source 9 of FIG. 2 is connected to the reactor 5 in series. That is, the first switching means 3 and the second switching means 4 operate so that the AC / DC converter 100 is equivalent to the virtual AC power supply 9.
- the current I flowing through the reactor 5 is determined by the voltage difference between the AC power supply 1 and the virtual AC power supply 9. Since the reactor current I is an alternating current amount, the circuit equation of FIG. 3 is expressed by the following (Equation 1).
- the voltage Vs of the AC power supply 1 and the voltage Vc of the virtual AC power supply 9 are assumed to be sinusoidal, respectively, and are expressed as (Equation 2) to (Equation 3) below.
- circuit equation of FIG. 3 is expressed using the voltage Vc of the virtual AC power supply 9. From the above (Formula 5), the following can be said.
- the first switching means 3 and the second switching means 4 are driven and controlled so that the voltage Vc between the input terminals of the rectifier 2 is substantially sinusoidal.

- FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating a waveform of the voltage Vc between the input terminals of the rectifier 2.

- Vdc is an output DC voltage applied to the DC load 8. The operation of the first switching means 3 and the second switching means 4 when taking the three-level output state will be described with reference to FIG.
- FIG. 4 illustrates the operation of the first switching means 3 and the second switching means 4. Hereinafter, each switching state of FIG. 4 will be described.
- the voltage Vc between the input terminals of the rectifier 2, that is, the converter voltage Vc can take a three-level voltage state.
- voltage waveforms such as the sections (1) to (3) in FIG. 3 can be generated and Vc can be output in a substantially sine wave form.
- FIGS. 4E to 4H correspond to the sections (1) ′ to (3) ′ in FIG.
- the output voltage level is multistaged (three levels of 0, Vdc / 2, and Vdc) as compared with the conventional technique, thereby lowering the switching frequency and reducing the harmonic current. In this way, the reactor 5 is reduced in size.
- the detailed operation of the control means 20 will be described in the second embodiment.
- the first switching unit 3 and the second switching unit 4 are driven and controlled as described with reference to FIGS. 3 to 4, and the input terminal voltage Vc of the rectifier 2, that is, The converter voltage Vc can be output in a three-level substantially sine wave form.
- the reactor 5 can be reduced in size compared with the method of operating a switching means once or several times with respect to a power supply half cycle like the prior art, making a switching frequency low.
- the output voltage level is multistaged, it is possible to perform PWM control for driving and controlling the switching frequency at a low frequency of about 1 kHz to 5 kHz, for example.
- a low frequency of about 1 kHz to 5 kHz, for example.
- the input current can be controlled in a substantially sine wave form without executing control of the input current only by outputting the converter voltage Vc in a sine wave form. That is, since the input current control is not performed, a high-frequency control operation becomes unnecessary.
- Embodiment 2 FIG. In the first embodiment, it has been described that the converter voltage Vc is output in a substantially sinusoidal shape so that the input current is substantially sinusoidal to suppress harmonics.
- the second embodiment of the present invention the details of the control block of the control means 20 will be described.
- the circuit configuration and the like are the same as those described in the first embodiment.
- FIG. 5 is a block diagram showing the internal configuration of the control means 20.
- the control block in FIG. 5 is an example of a control configuration that generates PWM without instantaneously comparing the instantaneous value of the input current and the sine wave-like command value.
- the configuration of FIG. 5 will be described.
- the PI controller 30 receives the difference between the DC voltage Vdc detected by the voltage detector 21 and the DC voltage command value Vdc *, which is a predetermined value set in advance, and performs PI control calculation so that Vdc approaches Vdc *. Execute.
- the control command is output as a P-axis current command value Ip *.
- the PQ converter 31 receives the instantaneous value Is of the input current detected by the current detector 22 and the power supply phase ⁇ detected by the power supply zero-cross detector 23, and uses these values to calculate the instantaneous value Is of the input current.
- the active power component (P-axis component) Ip and the reactive power component (Q-axis component) Iq of the input current are separated and output.
- PQ conversion will be supplemented.
- PQ conversion is used when converting a three-phase current or the like into a biaxial current. In the second embodiment, this is used for Is that is a single-phase current.
- the effective component and the ineffective component can be extracted as instantaneous values.
- the conversion result pulsates at twice the frequency of the AC power supply 1 (for example, JP-A-1-174274). Therefore, the instantaneous value of the PQ axis current cannot be used for single-phase current control as it is.
- low-pass filters LPF 32 a and 32 b are applied to the output of the PQ converter 31 in order to remove pulsation twice the frequency of the AC power supply 1. Thereby, the pulsation contained in the result of PQ conversion can be removed, and an appropriate control calculation can be executed.
- the outputs of the LPFs 32a and 32b are an active power component current Ip and a reactive power component current Iq, which are single phase currents.
- the reactive power component Iq When the power source power factor becomes 100%, the reactive power component Iq becomes 0, so the output of the PI controller 30 that controls the DC voltage Vdc to the command value Vdc * is the command value Ip * of the active power component current itself. Should be. Therefore, the control calculation is executed by inputting the difference from the active power component current Ip to the PI controller 33 so that the output of the PI controller 30 becomes Ip * itself. Similarly, the reactive power component current Iq should also be 0, so the difference between Iq and 0 is input to the PI controller 34 to execute the control calculation.
- the outputs of the PI controller 33 and the PI controller 34 are an active power component voltage command Vp * and a reactive power component voltage command Vq *.
- the inverse PQ converter 35 performs inverse PQ conversion on these command values using the power supply phase ⁇ .
- the power factor is 100%, in other words, the reactive power component of the current is 0, and the command value Vc * of the voltage across the virtual AC power supply 9 that is a preset DC voltage is obtained.
- phase angle ⁇ In order to synchronize the phase angle ⁇ with the phase of the AC power source 1, a PLL (Phase Locked Loop) circuit or the like may be used. Thereby, the accuracy of the phase angle ⁇ can be improved and the harmonic current can be further reduced.
- PLL Phase Locked Loop
- the command value Vc * of the converter voltage can be determined by the procedure described above.
- a method for determining the ON / OFF timing of the first switching means 3 and the second switching means 4 based on the determined converter voltage command value Vc * for example, general unipolar modulation can be used.
- FIG. 6 is a waveform diagram of a modulation signal that determines the ON / OFF timing of each switching means. Hereinafter, FIG. 6 will be described.
- FIG. 6A shows a modulation signal of the first switching means 3
- FIG. 6B shows a modulation signal of the second switching means 4.
- the sine waveform in FIGS. 6A and 6B is the converter voltage command value Vc *. Since the absolute value on the negative electrode side is the same as that on the positive electrode side, it can be said that the modulation signal in the figure is a unipolar modulation system.
- FIG. 6A the first switching means 3 is turned off in a section where the converter voltage Vc * is larger than the triangular wave that is a carrier wave.
- FIG. 6C shows the ON / OFF timing of the first switching means 3. The Hi side is ON and the Lo side is OFF.
- the waveform of the modulation signal is as shown in FIG. 6B in which the phase of FIG. Similarly to FIG. 6C, the waveform of FIG. 6D, which is the ON / OFF timing of the second switching means 4, is obtained.
- Converter voltage command value Vc * can also be obtained by adding the waveforms shown in FIGS. However, in FIGS. 6C and 6D, since the switching means is ON on the Hi side, Hi is set to 0 and Lo is set to 1 for easy understanding. Then, the chopped converter voltage command value Vc * of FIG. 6E is obtained.
- the ON / OFF timing of the first switching means 3 and the second switching means 4 can be determined based on the converter voltage command value Vc * by applying unipolar modulation.
- FIG. 7 is an example of a control block diagram for realizing the above-described PWM control.
- the control block as shown in FIG. 5 the drive signals of the IGBTs 3a and 3b can be generated to realize the PWM control described above.
- the converter voltage Vc between the input terminals of the rectifier 2 is set as shown in FIG. 6E by causing the first switching means 3 and the second switching means 4 to perform the PWM operation.
- a three-level chopping voltage is obtained.
- this chopping voltage is filtered, it becomes a substantially sinusoidal voltage. Since the voltage level of the chopping voltage has three stages, the voltage resolution is higher than that of the two-stage chopping waveform. Therefore, if the voltage resolution is the same, the PWM carrier frequency can be further reduced.
- the instantaneous value of the input current Is and the sinusoidal input current command value are compared and the PWM control is not executed so as to bring them closer to each other, but the control described in FIG. 5 is performed. Execute. That is, assuming that the output of the PI controller 30 is Ip * when the power factor is 100%, the sine wave input current command value is not compared with the instantaneous value Is, but via the PI controller 30. And indirectly compared with the DC voltage Vdc. Therefore, the control is not executed while constantly comparing the fluctuating instantaneous value Is and the command value, so that high-speed calculation processing is not required, and current control can be realized by low-speed calculation processing.
- Non-Patent Document 1 describes a technique for performing control by obtaining the operation timing of the switching means in advance by calculation. Since the ON / OFF timing of the switching means can be set infinitely according to the phase angle, there are infinite number of solution candidates obtained by calculation. Under that premise, it has been very difficult to determine the ON / OFF timing for setting the output DC voltage Vdc to a desired value.
- Non-Patent Document 1 proposes a method for searching for an optimal ON / OFF timing using GA.
- no technique has been found to search for ON / OFF timing that can bring the output DC voltage Vdc to a desired value.
- a method for searching for an optimal solution from the infinite ON / OFF timing is difficult to put into practical use.
- the ON / OFF timing is not obtained in advance by calculation, but the ON / OFF timing is determined by feedback control. Therefore, even for a product whose operating load conditions change or a product with a large number of models. Can be easily put into practical use.
- FIG. FIG. 8 is a circuit diagram of AC / DC converter 100 according to Embodiment 3 of the present invention.
- the configuration of the switching means is changed from the circuit configuration of FIG.
- Other configurations are the same as those in FIG.
- the “first rectifier” and the “second rectifier” correspond to the rectifier 2.
- the IGBTs 3a and 4a which are unidirectional flow switching elements, can perform an operation equivalent to the bidirectional switching means described with reference to FIG. Therefore, also in the circuit configuration of FIG. 8, the same control operation as that described in the first and second embodiments can be performed.
- the first diode 10 and the second diode 11 are not connected in the normal state where the first capacitor 6 and the second capacitor 7 connected in parallel have electric charges and have a positive voltage, and the first diode 10 and the second diode 11 are in an OFF state. It is synonymous with not.
- the capacitor on the side where the electric charges have been consumed has a negative charge amount, and a negative voltage is applied.
- an electrolytic capacitor having a voltage polarity is not allowed to be applied with a negative voltage. Therefore, by connecting the first diode 10 and the second diode 11 in antiparallel with each capacitor, the amount of negative voltage applied is prevented from exceeding the forward voltage drop of the diode. Thereby, the failure of the capacitor can be prevented and the reliability can be improved. It is added that this effect is the same in the first and second embodiments.
- Embodiment 4 FIG. In the fourth embodiment of the present invention, an inrush current suppression and an operation start method of the AC / DC converter 100 for that purpose will be described.
- the input current I from the AC power supply 1 is determined by the voltage difference between the AC power supply 1 and the virtual voltage source 9. Therefore, when the operation of each switching means is started, it is clear that the inrush current does not flow if the voltage of the virtual voltage source 9 is higher than the voltage of the AC power supply 1.
- control means 20 uses PI control, integration of PI control is used as a technique for realizing the above.
- the control means 20 sets a value such that the voltage command Vc * is higher than the voltage of the AC power supply 1 and has the same phase as the AC power supply 1 as an initial value of the integrator. Thereby, inrush current does not flow at the start of operation of each switching means, and soft start-up can be realized.
- the voltage command Vc * is in phase with the AC power supply 1. Furthermore, if the P-axis voltage command Vp *> Vs of the voltage command Vc *, a voltage higher than the voltage of the AC power supply 1 can be output as Vc *.
- the AC power supply 1 varies in voltage, it is not shown in the figure, but the voltage of the AC power supply 1 may be detected and set to a value equal to or greater than that value as the P-axis voltage command Vp *.
- a voltage that is clearly higher than the rated voltage for example, a voltage 1.3 to 1.5 times or more of 200 V, may be set. It goes without saying that either method has the same effect.
- the phase difference ⁇ between the converter voltage Vc and the voltage Vs of the AC power supply 1 is reset to 0, and the output DC voltage Vdc is increased after activation.
- the phase difference ⁇ is set to the advanced phase side (for example, ⁇ 10 degrees) when the AC / DC converter 100 is activated.
- the control unit 20 outputs a voltage command Vc * such that the reactive power component current of the input current becomes 0 or less, for example.
- control means 20 may execute control so that the DC voltage command value Vc * is gradually increased.
- soft start-up can be realized by suppressing a sudden increase in output DC voltage after start-up.
- FIG. 9 is a circuit diagram of AC / DC converter 100 according to Embodiment 5 of the present invention.
- the circuit of FIG. 9 is obtained by replacing the DC load 8 in the circuit diagram described in FIG. 1 of the first embodiment with an inverter 16 and a permanent magnet motor 15. Further, the voltage clamp unit 17 is provided at the output end of the AC / DC converter 100. Further, inverter control means 24 for controlling the operation of the inverter 16 is provided.
- the inverter control means 24 can be configured by hardware such as a circuit device that realizes the function, or can be configured by a semiconductor integrated circuit such as a microcomputer or CPU and software that defines the operation thereof.
- the inverter control means 24 and the control means 20 can be configured by using a single arithmetic device such as a CPU and software defining the operation thereof, and can be configured integrally. Below, it demonstrates as what integrates both in CPU25. In this case, the inverter control means 24 is integrated with a part of the AC / DC converter 100. A method for integrally configuring the inverter control means 24 and the control means 20 will be described later.
- AC / DC converter 100 The operation of AC / DC converter 100 according to the fifth embodiment is substantially the same as that described in the first to fourth embodiments.
- a description will be given particularly regarding the replacement of the load with the inverter 16 and the permanent magnet motor 15.
- the degree of freedom in designing an electric motor can be increased by using the circuit of FIG. 9 as an electric motor driving device.
- a configuration for suppressing an instantaneous abnormal voltage rise will be described, and then a method for integrally configuring the inverter control unit 24 with the control unit 20 will be described.
- an electric motor When an electric motor is designed to have high efficiency during low-speed rotation with a long operation time, like an electric motor used in an air conditioner, an electromotive voltage constant of the electric motor increases.
- the motor rotates at a high speed, such as during rapid cooling or rapid heating, if the electromotive voltage constant increases, the voltage required at the same number of rotations increases, so the direct current required for the inverter to drive the motor The voltage also rises.
- the specification of the motor must be designed in consideration of the relationship between the maximum rotational speed and the DC voltage.
- the efficiency of the electric motor can be increased by increasing the DC voltage and increasing the electromotive voltage constant.
- the output DC of the AC / DC converter 100 is provided to provide a high DC voltage.
- the voltage Vdc is increased, the conversion efficiency of the AC / DC converter 100 is lowered.
- the power factor of the AC / DC converter 100 is greatly reduced, and the harmonic current is also increased.
- the AC / DC converter 100 can perform a control operation at a low carrier frequency, it is possible to suppress a power factor decrease while increasing an output voltage, as described in Patent Documents 1 and 2.
- the conversion operation can be performed more efficiently than the AC / DC converter that performs boosting as in the technology. Therefore, the efficiency of the low-speed operation, in other words, the normal use can be improved without degrading the performance of the air conditioner even during overload operation such as rapid cooling or rapid heating. Therefore, by providing an electric motor drive device that drives an electric motor having a high electromotive voltage constant with the AC / DC converter 100 of the present invention, the operation efficiency when considered as the entire electric motor drive device is improved, and a product with high energy saving performance is obtained. In this case, depending on the energy when the permanent magnet motor 15 is stopped, a voltage exceeding the withstand voltage of the first capacitor 6 and the second capacitor 7 may be applied to each capacitor depending on the electromotive voltage constant of the permanent magnet motor 15. - the inverter 16 drives the permanent magnet motor 15 in response to application of a DC voltage. That is, for the inverter control means 24, the detection value of the voltage detection means 21 has a meaning as a detection value of the input voltage.
- the detected value of the voltage detecting means 21 for the AC / DC converter 100 has a meaning as a result value of the self-control of the value. Therefore, it is necessary to first provide the detected value to the inverter control means 24 as a time series of control factors.
- the input current Is is a result of the operation of the motor 15 for the inverter 16, whereas the input current Is is used as an input value for the power factor improvement control calculation for the AC / DC converter 100.
Hi側がON、Lo側がOFFである。
