Abstract
Description
即ち、本発明の一態様における光学式エンコーダは、光源と、測定対象に設けられ該測定対象の動きに連動し上記光源からの光束を変調する一つの信号トラックと、上記信号トラックからの光束を受光し電気信号に変換して出力する光検出部と、該光検出部からの出力信号を演算する演算部とを備え、上記信号トラックは、上記光源からの光を正弦波状に強度変調し、かつ該正弦波にλを基本周期としてmλ=Λ(mは自然数)毎に繰り返す位相変調を与える構成を有し、上記光検出部は、上記位相変調を与えた信号トラックから正弦波状に変調を受けた光束より正弦信号及び余弦信号を取り出し、上記演算部により、一つの上記信号トラックから周期λの基本周期信号と周期Λの位相変調信号の2つの周期の信号を得ることを特徴とする。
又、上述のように一つのトラックから複数の周期の正弦波出力を得ることができることから、多段のトラックを設ける必要はなくスケールの小型化を図ることも可能である。
図1は、本発明の実施の形態1による光学式エンコーダ100を示す構成図である。当該光学式エンコーダ100は、光源101と、スケール102と、光検出部104と、光検出部104に接続される演算部106とを備える。
上述のように、基本周期λでΛ=mλ周期毎に繰り返す位相変調が与えられた信号トラック103の信号パターンにおいて、位相変調パターンの電気角原点117(図4)は、点線で示した基本周期λの電気角原点117aに対して位相変調に伴ってδ(θ)のずれが発生する。位相変調パターンのf[θ]波形、及びδ[θ]波形は、例えば、

一方、第3光検出器対を構成する光検出器111、112、及び第4光検出器対を構成する光検出器113、114は、それぞれ、第1光検出器対を構成する光検出器107、108、及び第2光検出器対を構成する光検出器109、110に対して、位相変調周期の1/4周期(Λ/4)だけ互いにずれた位置に設けられている。よって、これら第3光検出器対の光検出器111、112、及び第4光検出器対の光検出器113、114について、上述の第1光検出器対及び第2光検出器対の場合と同様に、演算部106にてそれぞれの電気角演算結果の差を演算すると、下記(14)式に示すように、(13)式に対して電気角で90°位相のシフトした余弦波形状の位相変調信号を得ることができる。
実施の形態1の光学式エンコーダでは、上述のように、光検出器107及び光検出器108から第1光検出器対を、光検出器109及び光検出器110から第2光検出器対を、光検出器111及び光検出器112から第3光検出器対を、光検出器113及び光検出器114から第4光検出器対を、それぞれ構成した。
実施の形態1で説明したように、同じ円周上で外周側に位置する光検出器107及び光検出器111から正弦波出力が得られ、内周側に位置する光検出器108及び光検出器112から余弦波出力が得られる。演算部106の電気角演算部106aにて、上記正弦波出力と上記余弦波出力との除算が行われ、つまり逆正接演算が行われることにより、上記(10)式に示されるものと同様の電気角を得ることができる。
図6は本発明の実施の形態3における光学式エンコーダに備わる光検出部104-3を構成する各光検出器の配置を示す概略図である。尚、図6においても、図5の場合と同様に各光検出器を直線状に配置した状態にて図示している。
本実施の形態3における光学式エンコーダの基本的な構成は、実施の形態1及び実施の形態2における構成と同様であるが、光検出部のみの構成を異にする。即ち、本実施の形態3の光学式エンコーダに備わる光検出部104-3は、上述の光検出器113及び光検出器114に対して右方へΛ/4の位置に、さらに光検出器125及び光検出器126を配置している。光検出器125は、サブ検出器125a、125b、125cから構成され、光検出器126は、サブ検出器126a、126bから構成される。サブ検出器125a、125b、125cは、上述した、サブ検出器107a、107b、107cと同じ構成を有する。又、サブ検出器126a、126bについても、上述したサブ検出器108a、108bと同じ構成を有する。
図7は本発明の実施の形態4における光学式エンコーダに備わる光検出部104-4を構成する光検出器の配置を示す概略図である。尚、図7においても、図5及び図6の場合と同様に各光検出器を直線状に配置した状態にて図示している。
本実施の形態4における光学式エンコーダの基本的な構成は、実施の形態1及び実施の形態2における構成と同様であり、光検出部のみの構成を異にする。
動作としては実施の形態1の場合とほぼ同様である。つまり、サブ検出器117aの出力をf7a[θ]、サブ検出器117bの出力をf7b[θ]、サブ検出器107cの出力をf7c[θ]、及び、サブ検出器117dの出力をf7d[θ]とすると、(f7a[θ]+f7c[θ])-(f7b[θ]+f7d[θ])は、実施の形態1にて説明した(6)式における正弦出力f7a[θ]-(f7b[θ]+f7c[θ])と同様の出力となる。同様に、サブ検出器118a~118dに関しても、それらの出力をそれぞれf8a[θ]、f8b[θ]、f8c[θ]、f8d[θ]とすると、(f8a[θ]+f8c[θ])-(f8b[θ]+f8d[θ])は、実施の形態1にて説明した(9)式における余弦出力f8a[θ]-f8b[θ]と同様の出力となる。以下同様に、演算部106の電気角演算部106aによる演算を行うことにより、本実施の形態4の光学式エンコーダは、実施の形態1にて説明したのと同様の効果を得ることが出来る。
本実施の形態5における光学式エンコーダは、上述した実施の形態4の光学式エンコーダに備わる光検出部104-4について、上述した実施の形態2と同様の信号処理方法を採り、光検出部104-4の信号強度を大きく得るように構成した光学式エンコーダである。
図8は本発明の実施の形態6における光学式エンコーダに備わる光検出部104-6を構成する光検出器の配置を示す概略図である。尚、図8においても、図5等の場合と同様に各光検出器を直線状に配置した状態にて図示している。
実施の形態1~6における光学式エンコーダでは、スケール102は、単一の信号トラック103を有する構成を示している。単一の信号トラック103を有することで、実施の形態1~6における光学式エンコーダは、スケール102を小型化できるという効果を得られる。
次に、実施の形態8における光学式エンコーダについて説明する。
従来の光学式エンコーダの課題の一つとして、光学系のギャップ、つまりスケールの信号トラックに対する光源と光検出部との隙間、の余裕を向上するという課題がある。この課題を克服する有効な方策として、3格子方式を用いた光学系が挙げられる。この3格子方式では、上記ギャップが、スケール上にて信号トラックを構成するスリットのピッチで決定される。よって、スケールの回転角度の絶対値検出を行うために長周期と短周期のスリットをスケールに配置しようとすると、必要な光学系のギャップの差が大きくなり過ぎてしまい、光学式エンコーダの構成が困難になるという問題点があった。
光源101、第1信号トラック103、及び光検出部104は、実施の形態1にて説明した構成と同様である。
又、光検出部204は、2つの光検出器を一つのブロックにて光検出器対204aとして図示している。
実施の形態8では、第1信号トラック103と第2信号トラック203の周波数差j=n-Lとなるように、第2信号トラック203を構成する主スリットの波数nに対して第1信号トラック103を構成する副スリットの波数Lを少ない波数となるように決定した。これに対し、副スリットの波数hを主スリットの波数nに対してjだけ多くとる、即ち、j=h-nとなるように副スリットの波数hを設定することも可能である。本実施の形態9における光学式エンコーダは、そのような、副スリットの波数hを主スリットの波数nに対してjだけ多くとった構成を有する。尚、本実施の形態9の光学式エンコーダにおいて、その他の構成は、実施の形態8における構成に同じである。
実施の形態10における光学式エンコーダの構成について説明する。本実施形態10における光学式エンコーダの基本的な全体構成は、図10及び図11に示す構成に同様であるが、スケール上の2つの信号トラックを構成するスリットの配置が図10及び図11に示す場合と異なる。又、図10に示す検出スリット208,209についても、本実施の形態10における光学式エンコーダでは構成が異なる。
まず、上記2つの信号トラックの詳細構成について、図13~図16を参照して説明する。
Λ=2π/kとする。信号トラック233における周期λのスリットは、周期Λの中でm個のスリット列を形成する、周期毎に繰返す位相変調が与えられている。
信号トラック233の位相変調パターンの波形f[θ]は、例えばその振幅をα(0<α<1)として、下記(15),(16)の式となる強度変調で与えられる。
実施の形態10の光学式エンコーダでは、スケール102-1に設けられた信号トラック243及び233のパターンが固定スケール207の検出スリット209-1、209-1に投影される構成を示した。しかしながら、図17に示す本実施の形態11における光学式エンコーダ250のような構成を採ることもできる。
本発明は、添付図面を参照しながら好ましい実施形態に関連して充分に記載されているが、この技術の熟練した人々にとっては種々の変形や修正は明白である。そのような変形や修正は、添付した請求の範囲による本発明の範囲から外れない限りにおいて、その中に含まれると理解されるべきである。

Claims (12)
- 光源と、
測定対象に設けられ該測定対象の動きに連動し上記光源からの光束を変調する一つの信号トラックと、
上記信号トラックからの光束を受光し電気信号に変換して出力する光検出部と、
該光検出部からの出力信号を演算する演算部とを備え、
上記信号トラックは、上記光源からの光を正弦波状に強度変調し、かつ該正弦波にλを基本周期としてmλ=Λ(mは自然数)毎に繰り返す位相変調を与える構成を有し、
上記光検出部は、上記位相変調を与えた信号トラックから正弦波状に変調を受けた光束より正弦信号及び余弦信号を取り出し、
上記演算部により、一つの上記信号トラックから周期λの基本周期信号と周期Λの位相変調信号の2つの周期の信号を得ることを特徴とする光学式エンコーダ。 - 上記光検出部は、上記信号トラックによって上記正弦波状に変調を受けた光束より正弦信号及び余弦信号を取り出す一対の光検出器からなる第1光検出器対と、上記信号トラックによって上記正弦波状に変調を受けた光束より正弦信号と余弦信号とを取り出す一対の光検出器からなる第2光検出器対とを、上記位相変調の周期Λにおいて{(2n+1)Λ/2}周期にて離れた位置に配置し、
上記演算部は、上記第1光検出器対及び上記第2光検出器対のそれぞれから出力される上記正弦信号及び上記余弦信号により各光検出器対の位置における各電気角を演算し、得られた各電気角の和をとり上記基本周期λにおける電気角を求め、上記各電気角の差をとり第1位相変調信号を求める、請求項1に記載の光学式エンコーダ。 - 上記光検出部は、さらに、上記第1光検出器対及び上記第2光検出器対に対してそれぞれ{(2n+1)Λ/4}周期にて離れた位置に配置され上記第1光検出器対及び上記第2光検出器対と同じ構成にてなる第3光検出器対及び第4光検出器対を備え、上記演算部は、上記第1光検出器対及び上記第2光検出器対から求まる上記第1位相変調信号と、上記第3光検出器対及び上記第4光検出器対から求まる第2位相変調信号とにより位相変調信号の電気角を演算する、請求項1又は2記載の光学式エンコーダ。
- 上記光検出部は、上記信号トラックによって上記正弦波状に変調を受けた光束より正弦信号及び余弦信号を取り出す一対の光検出器からなる第1光検出器対と、上記信号トラックによって上記正弦波状に変調を受けた光束より正弦信号と余弦信号とを取り出す一対の光検出器からなる第2光検出器対とを、上記位相変調の周期ΛにおいてΛ/2周期にて離れた位置に配置し、さらに、上記第1光検出器対及び上記第2光検出器対に対してそれぞれΛ/4周期にて離れた位置に配置され上記第1光検出器対及び上記第2光検出器対と同じ構成にてなる第3光検出器対及び第4光検出器対を備え、
上記演算部は、上記第1光検出器対及び上記第2光検出器対と、上記第3光検出器対及び上記第4光検出器対とのそれぞれから出力される上記正弦信号及び上記余弦信号により各光検出器対の位置における各電気角を演算し、得られた各電気角の和をとり上記基本周期λにおける電気角を求め、上記各電気角の差をとり第1位相変調信号を求める、
請求項1又は2記載の光学式エンコーダ。 - 上記演算部は、さらに上記第1光検出器対及び上記第2光検出器対と、上記第3光検出器及び上記第4光検出器対とから求まる上記第1位相変調信号、並びに、上記第2光検出器対及び上記第3光検出器対と、上記第4光検出器及び上記第1光検出器対とから求まる上記第2位相変調信号の差により位相変調信号の電気角を演算する、請求項2又は4記載の光学式エンコーダ。
- 上記測定対象は、上記信号トラックである第1信号トラックに加えて、該第1信号トラックとは異なる第2信号トラックをさらに有し、各信号トラックに対応して上記光検出部を有し、第1信号トラックは、上記位相変調された正弦波を生成する信号トラックであり、第2信号トラックは、上記第1信号トラックで分解できる分解能より高い周波数を有する単一周期の正弦波状の光強度変調を行う信号トラックである、請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の光学式エンコーダ。
- 上記測定対象は、上記信号トラックである第1信号トラックに加えて、該第1信号トラックとは異なる第2信号トラックをさらに有し、各信号トラックに対応して上記光検出部を有し、第1信号トラックは、上記位相変調された正弦波を生成する信号トラックであり、第2信号トラックは、上記第1信号トラックで分解できる分解能より低い周波数を有する単一周期の正弦波状の光強度変調を行う信号トラックである、請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の光学式エンコーダ。
- 上記第2信号トラックは、当該第2信号トラックの波数nが上記第1信号トラックの波数Lよりjだけ相違する波数を有する単一周期の正弦波状の光強度変調を行う信号トラックである、請求項6又は7に記載の光学式エンコーダ。
- 上記第2信号トラックのトラック半径Rに対して上記第1信号トラックのトラック半径がR(L/n)である、請求項8に記載の光学式エンコーダ。
- 光源と、被測定物に取り付けられ上記被測定物の動きに連動して上記光源からの光束を変調する第1トラック及び第2トラックを有するスケールと、上記スケールからの変調された光束を受光し電気信号に変換して出力する光検出部と、上記光検出部からの出力信号を演算して上記被測定物の位置を演算する演算部とを備えた光学式エンコーダであって、
上記第1トラックは、当該トラック全体をk分割する周期Λに対しnの波数を持つ固定の周期パターンで構成され、
上記第2トラックは、上記第1トラックのnの波数よりmだけ相違する波数を有し、かつ上記周期Λで変化する関数による位相変調を付与して構成され、
上記光検出部は、上記第1トラックに対応して配置される第1光検出器と、上記第2トラックに対応して配置され互いにΛ/4周期ずれて配置される複数の第2光検出器とを有し、
上記演算部は、上記第1光検出器の出力信号及び上記第2光検出器の出力信号からそれぞれ求めた電気角演算出力の差を演算して長周期の信号を求め、上記第2光検出器の出力信号から求めた電気角演算出力の差を演算して上記周期Λ内における絶対位置を求め、上記電気角演算出力の和を演算して周期Λ内でm回繰り返すバーニア出力を求める、
ことを特徴とする光学式エンコーダ。 - 上記スケールの上記第1トラック及び上記第2トラックと上記光源との間に固定して配置される固定格子をさらに備え、上記光検出部は、上記固定格子と上記スケールとによって生成される格子像を検出する、請求項10記載の光学式エンコーダ。
- 上記スケールの上記第1トラック及び上記第2トラックは、光の位相に変調を与える位相格子を有する、請求項11記載の光学式エンコーダ。
