Abstract

 本発明の刃先交換型切削チップは、基材と該基材上に形成された被覆層とを備えるものであって、該被覆層は、TiCN層を少なくとも含む複数の層からなり、その複数の層のうち少なくとも1層は圧縮残留応力が付与されており、該TiCN層は、TiCNを主体とする層であり、X線回折において(422)面に最高ピーク強度を有するとともに(311)面に第2のピーク強度を有し、かつ(422)面のピーク強度I(422)と(311)面のピーク強度I(311)とのピーク強度比I(422)/I(311)が1.1以上10以下であることを特徴とする。
