Abstract

 正極材を製造する際のバインダー樹脂との混練の際のゲル化を抑制し、塗布性に優れるリチウム二次電池用正極活物質を提供する。  下記一般式(1)で表されるリチウム複合酸化物に、Ca原子を含有させてなる正極活物質であって、該正極活物質を線源としてCu-Kα線を用いてX線回折分析したときに、(a)CaOに由来する2θ=37.4±0.2°の回折ピークに対する(b)2θ=18.7±0.2°の回折ピークの強度比(b/a)が10~150であるリチウム二次電池用正極活物質。 LixNi1-y-zCoyMezO2   (1) (式中、MeはCo及びNi以外の原子番号11以上の金属元素を示す。xは0.98≦ x≦1.20、yは0<y≦0.5、zは0<z≦0.5を示し、但しy+z<1を示す。)
