Abstract

 本発明では、粉末材料を供給して粉末材料層を形成する粉末材料層形成工程、粉末材料層の所定箇所に光ビームを照射することによって当該所定箇所の粉末材料を焼結して焼結層を形成する焼結層形成工程、および、焼結層形成工程で光ビームが照射されなかった未焼結の粉末材料を回収する粉末材料回収工程を含んで成る三次元形状造形物の製造方法が提供される。かかる製造方法では、粉末材料層形成工程において、組成または平均粒径の少なくとも一方の点で異なる粉末材料を選択して粉末材料層を形成することができ、先行して使用された粉末材料と異なる種類の粉末材料を用いて粉末材料層を形成するに際しては、粉末材料層形成工程の前に粉末材料回収工程を行い、先行して使用された粉末材料の未焼結分を回収する。これにより、回収された複数種類の材料粉末同士が混ざり合うことが防止され、それらを三次元形状造形物の製造に再利用できる。
