Abstract

 チタン酸化物一次粒子が集合した二次粒子を含み、前記二次粒子が0.005~1.0cm3/gの範囲の空隙量を有する電極活物質及び前記電極活物質を用いたリチウム電池を提供する。前記二次粒子は、好ましくは、特定のチタン酸化物の一次粒子を含むスラリーを噴霧乾燥して得られ、さらに好ましくは、媒液中で加水分解性チタン化合物を中和し加水分解した後、媒液中で加熱処理し粒子成長させたチタン酸化物を一次粒子として用いて調製される。本発明の電池は、電池特性、特にサイクル特性に優れたものである。
