Abstract

 本発明による液晶表示装置は、行および列を有するマトリクス状に配列された画素と、各画素に関連付けられた、TFT(TFT-A、B、C)と、ソースバスラインと、ゲートバスラインと、CSバスライン(CS-A、B)とを有する。各画素は、それぞれが互いに異なる電圧を保持し得る液晶容量を有する少なくとも3つの副画素(SP-A、B、C)を有し、ソースバスライン、ゲートバスライン、およびCSバスラインから、各画素のそれぞれに、少なくともある中間調において少なくとも3つの副画素の内の2つの副画素に互いに異なる輝度を表示させる信号(CS-A、CS-B)を供給することによって、少なくとも3つの副画素に互いに異なる輝度を表示させることができる。
