しかしながら、 特開 2 0 0 1— 1 5 5 8 8 2号公報に提示されるマイクロ波放 電光源装置は、 マグネトロンを用いたものであり、 サイズ ·重量ともに大きくな つてしまう。 また、 マイクロ波放電光源装置を構成するマグネトロン発振管は、 その内部にフィラメント (陰極) および陽極などを有する一種の真空管構造とな つている。 それにより、 無電極光源ランプは長寿命ではあるが、 マグネトロン発 振管は、 フィラメントの破損や電極の磨耗などにより長寿命とはならない。 そし ■ て、 マグネトロン発振管を駆動するには、 数 k Vもの高電圧を陽極に印加する必 要があるため、 その電源回路も大きいものになってしまうなどの課題があった。 本発明は、 上記課題に鑑みてなされたものであり、 マイクロ波を用いて、 小型 化および長寿命化を図った光源装置および当該光源装置を備えたプロジェクタを 提供することを目的とする。 ' ' . , . . 発明の開示 . ,

以下、 本発明の実施形態を図面に基づ,いて説明する。
(第 1実施形態)
図 1は、 本発明の第 1実施形態に係る光源装置をプロジ.ェクタに適用した場合 のプロジェクタの光学系の構成を示すブロック図である。 '図 1を用いて、 プロジ クタ 1の光学系 5の構成および動作を概略説明する。 に
図 1に示すように、 プロジェクタ 1の光学系 5は、 光源装置 1 0と、 照明光学 系 60と、 光変調部 70と、 色合成光学系 80と、 投写部 90とを有して構成さ れている。 また、 光源装置 1 0は、 UHF帯 (30 OMH-z〜3GH z) や SH F帯.(3GH Z〜30GH z) 等の高周波信号を出力する固体离周波発振部 10 0と、 固体高周波発振部 1 00から入力した高周波信号をマイクロ波として放射 する導波部 400と、 導波部 400.から放射されたマイク口波により発光する発 光部 500とを有して構成されている。 なお、 照明光学系 60は、 光源装置 1 0 から射出された光束の照度を均一化し、 各色光に分離する。 そして、 光変調部 7 0は、 照明光学系 60で分離された各色光の光束に対して画像情報に応じて変調 して光学像を形成する。 色合成光学系 80は、 照明光学系 60で色分離され光変 調部 70で変調された各色光の光学像を合成する。 投写部 90は、 色合成光学系 80で合成された光学像を投写する。 なお、 光源装置 10は、 固体高周波発振部 100と導波部 400と発光部 500とをユニッ ト化して構成されている。 ここ でユニット化とは、 いくつかの機能部が物理的に一体となっていることや、 いく つかの機能部が機能的にまとまつていることを指す。
図 2は、 光源装置の固体高周波発振部、 導波部および発光部の概略構成を示す ブロック図である。 図 2を用いて、 光源装置 1 0を構成する固体高周波発振部 1 0 0、 導波部 4 0. 0および発光部 5 0 0の構成および動作を説明する。
図 2に示すように、 固体高周波発振部 1 0 0は、 電源 1 1 0と、 固体高周波発 振器 2 0 0である弾性表面波 (Surface Acoustic Wave: S AW) 発振器 2 0 1と してのダイヤモンド S AW発振器 2 0 2と、 増幅器としてめ第 1増幅器 1 2 0と を有して構成されている。導波部 4 0 0は、ケーブル 4 1 0とアンテナ部(以下、 「アンテナ」 とする) 4 2 0ど 器部 (以下、 「容器」 とする) 4 3 0と安全器 4 4 0としてのアイソレータ 4 4 1 とを有して構成されている。 発光部 5 0 0.は、 無電極発光管 5 1 0と反射部 5 2 0と してのリフレクタ 5 3 0と保護ガラス 5 4 0とを有して構成されている。
固体高周波発振部 1 0 0を詳細に説明する。 電源 1 1 0は、 ダイヤモンド S A W発振器 2 0 2と第 1増幅器 1 2 0とに電力を供給している。 また、 本実施形態 —では、 固体高周波発振器 2 0 0である弾性表面波発振器 2 0 1 としてダイヤモン ド S AW発振器 2 0 2を用いている。 そして、 ダイヤモンド S AW発振器 2 0 2 の後段は、 第 1増幅器 1 2 0の前段に接続されている。 そして、 ダイヤモンド S AW発振器 2 0 2から出力された高周波信号は、 第 1増幅器 1 2 0で増幅された 後に出力される。 この第 1増幅器 1 2 0から出力される高周波信号が、 固体高周 波発振部 1 0 0から出力される高周波信号となる。 本実施形態では、 固体高周波 発振部 1 0 0からは、 無電極発光管 5 1 0内に封入される後述する発光物質 5 1 1を励起して発光させる高周波出力レベルに増幅された 2 : 4 5 G H z帯の高周 波信号を出力する。
なお、 固体高周波発振部 1 0 0を構成する固体高周波発振器 2 0 0は、 後述す る弾性表面波共振子 3 0 0を用いた弾性表面波発振器 2 0 1である。' また、:本実 施形態では、 弾性表面波発振器 2 0 1としてダイヤモンド S AW発振器 2 0 2を 用いている。 よって、 後述する弾性表面波共振子 3 0 0としてダイヤモンド S A W共振子 3 1 0を用いている。 固体高周波発振器 2 0 0は、 ダイヤモンド S AW 発振器以外の固体高周波発振器を用いても良い。 また、 固体高周波発振器の固体 とは、 マグネトロン等を用いた真空管のような気体による発振器に対する表現で あり、 ダイヤモンドのような固体を用いた発振器という意味である。
導波部 4 0 0を詳細に説明する。 導波部 4 0 0は、 固体高周波発振部 1 0 0か ら出力した高周波信号を導波してマイクロ波として放射するものであり、 基本的 にはマイクロ波^放射きせるアンテナ 4 2 0と、 アンテナ 4 2 0および後述する 無電極発光管 5 1 0を収容する容器 4 3 0を有していれば良い。本実施形態では、 アンテナ 4 2 0に高周波信号を導くケーブル 4 1 0と反射波対策と'してアイソレ ータ 4 4 1とを備えている。 なお、 ケーブル 4 1 0とアンテナ 4 2 0は、 同軸ケ —ブルを用いて、 芯線をアンデナ 4 2ひとして使用しても良い。
アイソレータ 4 4 1は、固体高周波発振部 1 0 0の第 1増幅器 1 2 0の後段で、 アンテナ 4 2 0との間に設置されている p そのため、 アンテナ 4 2 0かちマイク 口波を放射した結果どして、 対象物となる容器 4 3 0や無電裤発光管 5 1 0など からの反射波が固体高周波発振部 1 0 0に戻ることを阻止し、 第 1増幅器 1 2 0 などの故障を防止している。 ここで阻止とは、 反射波をアイソレータ 4 4 1の内 —部の抵抗体により熱として消費することで、 反射波により第' 1増幅器 1 2 0など が故障することない範囲にまで、 第 1増幅器などに戻る反射波を低減することを 言う。
容器' 4 3 0は、 導電性材料 含む部材により構成されており、 容器 4 3 0の内 部には、 マイクロ波を反射させる一対のマイクロ波反射面 4 3 1'; 4 3 2と、 こ のマイクロ波反射面 4 3 1, 4 3 2に囲まれた空間 4 3 3を有して構成されてい る。 そして、.導波部 4 0 Qのアンテナ 4 2 0力 マイクロ波反射面 4 3 1の略中 心に所定の距離だけ空間 4 3 3内部に突出する形態で設置きれている。 また、 発 光部.5 G 0の無電極発光管 5 .1 0が、,マイク口波反射面 4 3 2の略中心に所定の 距曄だ、け空間 4 3 3内.部に突 mする形態で設置されている。 ここで、 マイク ώ波 反射面 4 3 1, 4 3 2は、 アンテナ 4 2 0から放射したマイクロ波が、 マイクロ 波反射面 4 3 1 , 4 3 2で反射し、 空間 4 3 3内部に突出する無電極発光管 5 1 0に収束するようにそれぞれ形成されている。 また、 アンテナ 4 2 0と無電極発 光管 5 1 0とは、 対向する位置関係となっている。
このように構成された容器 4 3 0において、 アンテナ 4 2 0からマイク口波が 空間 4 3 3内に放射されると、 放射されたマイクロ波は、 放射状に広がり、 マイ ク口波反射面 4 3 1 , 4 3 2で反射され、 設置された無電極発光管 5 1 0の突出 した部分に収束される。 ここで、 空間 4 3 3は、 マイクロ波反射面 4 3 1 , 4 3 2に囲まれ、 アンテナ 4 2 0で放射されたマイクロ波を外部に漏らさず効率よく 閉じ込めることができる。 なお、 空間 4 3 3には、 本実施形態ではく 大気が収容 されている。 .また、 空間 4 3 3は、 イクロ波反射面 4 3 1 , 4 3 2によって完 全に囲むことによって、 マイクロ波を空間 4 3 3の外部に^らすことを防ぐこと ができる。
発光部 5 0 0を詳細に説明する。 発光部 5 0 0は、 無電極発光管 5 1 0で発光 した光束を反射させ、 光変調部 7 0側に光束を射出するものである。 発光部. 5 0 0を構成する無電極発光管 5 1 0は、 フィラメントや電極構造を有さず、 ガラス 等の光を透過する材料によって管状形状を有して形成されている。 本実施形態で は、 .石英ガラスを用いている。 また、 無電極発光管 5 1 0に封入ざれる発光物質 5 1 1は、 例えばネオン、 アルゴン、 クリプトン、 キセノン、 ハロゲン等の希ガ スゃ、 これらのガスと共に水銀やナトリウム等の金属や金属 ίヒ合物等を封入して も良い。本実施形 では、水銀、希ガスおよび少量のハロゲンが封入されている。 また、 無電極発光管 5 1 0は、 上述した管状形状を有しており、 一方の端部が 容器 4 3 0の空間 4 3 3内部に突出して設置され、 他方の端部が、 容器 4 3 0の 外部に延出.している。 この延出した部位となる先端側は、 反射部 ·5 2 0としての リフレクタ 5 3 0の内面側に突出して.リフレクタ 5 3 0に設置される。
そして、 容器 4 3 0の空間 4 3 3の内部に突出して設置される無電極発光管 5 1 0の一部は、 マイクロ波が収束される領域に対応しており、 この収束したマイ クロ波により、 無電極発光管.5 1 0内部に封入される発光物質 5 1 1は励起され て発光すること なる。 また、 これにより、 無電極発光管 5 1 0の内部全域 発 光することになり、 リフレクタ 5 3 0の内面側に突出する部分も発光する。
リフレクタ 5 3 0は、石英ガラスで形成され内面側が放物面形状をなしている。 放物面形状は、 リフレクタ 5 3 0の内面側に突出して設置される無電極発光管 5 1 0の先端側が焦点または略焦点となるように形成されている。 無電極発光管 5 1 0の先端側が焦点となるのが望ましいが、 略焦点でもよい。 また、 リアレクタ 5 3 0の内面側には、 可視光の反射率を向上させる誘電体の膜がコートされ反射 面 5 3 1が形成されている。 これにより、 リフレクタ 5 3. 0の内面側に突出する 無電極発光管 5 1 0で発光した光束は、放射状に広がり、反射面 5 3 1で反射し、 略平行光束となり.光変調部 7 0側に射出することになる。
なお、リフレクタ. 5 3 0の内面側の形状は楕円面形状でも良く、その場合には、 楕円面で反射した光束を略平行光束とするための平行化凹レンズを配置した構成 とすることでも良い。 '
保護ガラス 5 4 0は、 リフレクタ 5 3 0の先端側に設置されており、 プロジェ クタ 1から光源装置 1 0を取外した場合などによる発光部 5 0◦への粉塵の進入 防止や、 落下などにより発光部 5 0 0が破壊した場食の破片などの飛散防止を図 つている。
また、 光源装置 1 0は、 光源装置用筐淬 1 1 (図 7に図示) を有しており、 '固 体高周波発振部 1 0 0、 導波部 4 0 0および発光部 5 0 0を収容してユニット化 されている。
" 以上の構成および動作により、 光源装置 1 0は発光し光束'を光変調部 7 0側に 射出する。 ' .
図 3は、 固体高周波発振部を構成する固体高周波発振器の概略構成を示すプロ ック図である。 図 3を用いて固体高周波発振器 2 0 0の構成および動作を説明す る。 .
固体高周波発振器 2 0 0 (本実施形態では、 弾性表面波発振器 2 0 1としての ダイヤモンド S AW発振器 2 0 2 ) は、 移相回路 2 1 0、 弾性表面波共振子 3 0 0としてのダイヤモンド S AW共振子 3 1 0、 第 2増幅器 2 2 0および電力分配 器 2.3 0でループ回路 2 4 0を構成し、 電力分配器 2 3 0の一方の出力側にバッ ファ回路 2 5 0を接続した構 となっている。 移相回路 2 1 0は、 電源 1 1 0か. ら制御電圧を入力してループ回路 2 4 0の位相を可変させるものである。 これら 各ブロックは、 一定の特性インピーダンス、 例えば 5 0 ohm に全て整合接続され. ている。 なお、 ダイヤモンド S AW共振子 3 1 0は、 第 2増幅器 2 2 0が飽和状 態となる入力電圧が供給されるように第 2増幅器 2 2 0の入力側に接続すること ができる。
これにより、 ダイヤモンド S AW共振子 3 1 0を用いて G H z 帯での高周波信 号をダイレク ト発振させることが可能となる。 また、 整合を保ったまま第 2増幅 器 2 2 0の出力パワーを電力分配器 2 3 0からバッファ回路 2 5 0を介して外部 に出力することができる。 また、 この回路構成により、 ダイヤモンド S AW共振 子 3 1 0に印加する電力を最小限として連続発振状態を継続することが可能とな る。 また、 移相回路 2 1 0により、 高周波信号に周波数変調をかけることが可能 となり、 無電極発光管 5 1 0に対して、 マイクロ波周波数を'可変 '調整すること が可能になる。 なお、本実施形態では、 ダイヤモンド S AW共振子 3 1 0は、 2 . 4 5 G Hz 帯の高周波信号を出力する。 また、 移相回路 2 1 0は用いなくても良 く、 その場合には、 固体高周波発振器 2 0 0はダイヤモンド S AW共振子 3 1 0 の特性により一意的に決まる周波数で発振する固定発振器となる。
図 4は、 弾性表面波共振子の概略構成を示す断面図である。 図 4を用いて、,弾 性表面波共振子 3 0 0の構造および製造方法を説明する。
04に示すように、 本実施形態では、 弾性表面波共振子' 3 0 0としてダイヤモ ンド S AW共振子 3 1 0を用いている。そして、珪素基板 3 1 1をベースとして、 上面にダイヤモンド単結晶層 3 1 2が積層される。 そして、 ダイヤモンド単結晶 層 3 1 2の上には、 庄電体層 3 1 3 (本実施形態では、 酸化亜鉛 (Z n O ) の薄 膜) が積層される。 そして、 この圧電体層 3 1 3の上には、 弾性表面波を励振す る I D T電極 3 1 4 ,が設けられると共に、 弾性表面波を反射する'反射器電極 (図 示省略) が設けられている。 また、 1 0丁電極3 1 4は、 互いにかみ合うように 配置された 1.組の櫛形電極で構成されている。 そして、 I D T電極 3 1 4および 反射器電極の上には、酸化珪素層 3 1 5が積層されている。酸化珪素層 3 1 5は、 ¾作周波数の温度依存性が、 圧電体層 3 1 3、 I D T電極 3 1 4、 ダイヤモンド 単結晶層 3 1 2と反対の特性を示すことから動作周波数の温度特性改善のために 積層している。
なお、 ダイヤモンド単結晶層 3 1 2は、 気相合成法により形成される。 これ以 外に、 多結晶ダイヤモンドに一致または近い弾性定数を有する硬質炭素層を用い ることもできる。 また、 圧電体層 3 1 3は、 Z n〇以外に、 A 1 N、 P b ( Z r, T i ) o2等をスパッタ法ゃ気根合成法などにより形成することができる。 固体高 周波発振器 2 0 0の発振特性がよりょくするにはダイヤモンド単結晶層 3 1 '2を 用いるのが好ましいが、 上述のように硬質炭素膜層を用いるようにしても良い。 . 上述したように、 弾性表面波共振子 3 0 0としてのダイヤモンド S AW共振子 3 1 0は、 積層構造.をしており、 半導体製造における微細カ卩ェ技術を利用して製 造されチップ化されている。 また、 チップ化された弾性表面波共振子 3 0 0やそ の他素子を実装し、 固体高周波発振器 2 0 0を有する固体高周波発振部 1 0 0が 形成され製造される。 従って、 固体高周波発振部 1 0 0はサイズが小型なものと なる。
図 5は、 ダイヤモンド S AW 振器から出力される信号の周波数と強度との関 係を示す模式図である。 ここで図 5の横軸は周波数を示し、 縦軸は強度を示して いる。
上述したダイヤモンド S A W共振子 3 1 0の構成により、 図 5に示す.ように、 ダイヤモンド S AW発振器 2 0 2から出力される信号は、特定周波数 の高周波 信号 (G H z帯) のみを出力する。 また、 急峻なダイレク ト発振ができる。 本実 '施形態では、 特定周波数 は、 2 . 4 5 G H z帯の高周波信号を出力する。
図 6は、 プロジェクタの回路ブロック図である。 図 6を用いて、 プロジェク 1 の回路構成と動作を説明する。
プロジェクタ 1は、 制御部 8 0 0、 信号変換部 8 1 0、 ,画像処理部 8 2 0、 液 晶パネル駆動部 8 3 0、 操作受付け部 8 4 0、 電源部 8 5 0、 記憶部 8 6 0およ びファン駆動部 8 7 0などを有して構成される。. また、 各部は、 バスライン B より互いに接続されている。 そして、 光学系 5として、 光源装置 1 0 (固体高周 波発振部 1 0 0、 導波部 4 0 0、.発光部 5 0 0 )、 光変調部 7 0および投写部 9 0 などが構成される。
次に、 各部の動作を説明する。
信号変換部 8 1 0は、 プロジェクタ 1の本体外面 設置される画像入力端子 8 1 5と接続されている。 そして、 画像入力端子 8 1 5に接続された外部の画像信 号供給装置(図示省略)から供給される例えばアナログ画像信号を受取る。なお、 アナログ画像信号として、 例えば、 パーソナルコンピュータから出力されたコン ピュータ画像を表す R G B信号や、 ビデオレコーダゃテレビジョン受像機から出 力された動画を表すコンポジッ ト画像信号などの画像信号が、 画像入力端子 8 1 5に供給される。 そして、 信号変換部 8 1 0は、 画像入力端子 8 1 5から入力し たアナログ画像信号を A D変換して、 デジタル画像信号として画像処理部 8 2 0 に出力する。 .
画像処理部 8 2 0は、.入力したデジタル画像信号を後述する光変調部' 7 0を構 成する液晶パネル 7 1 (図 7参照) で表示するのに適した信号とするために、 画 像データを画像メモリ (いずれも図示省略) に書き込み、 所定の条件で読み出す などの画像処理を施した後、 再度アナログ画像信号に変換して画像信号として液 晶パネル駆動部 8 3 0に出力する。 また、 画像処理とは、 画像信号で表される画 像を拡大および縮小することにより液晶パネル 7 1 (図 7参照) の持つ解像度に 合わせるスケーリング処理や、 画像信号の有十る階調値を液晶パネル 7 1で表示 するのに適した階調値に変換する γ補正 理などが含まれる。 なお、 このような 画像処理部 8 2 0によるスケーリング処理および γ補正処理などの画像処理は、 記憶部 8 6 0に記憶されている画像処理手順を規定したファームウェアを実行す —ることにより行われる。 '
液晶.パネル駆動部 8 3 0は、 画像処理部 8 2 0から出力した画像信号と.、 画像 信号に基づく駆動電圧などを液晶パネル 7 1に供給し駆動する。
制御部 8 0 0は、 C P U (Central Processing Unit) であり、 バ ライン Bを 介して、 各部と信号の送受信を行い、 プロジェ.クタ 1の動作を統括制御する。 記憶部 8 6 0は、 例えば、 プロジェクタ 1を起動させる場合の処理の手順と内 容を指示する起動プログ ムなど、 .ロジェクタ 1の動作を指示および制御十る ための様々な制御プログラムや、 ファームウェア、 および付随するデータが記憶 されている。
操作受付け部 8 4 0は、 プロジェクタ 1の本体外面に設置される操作部 8 4 1 またはリモコン.8 4 2に対し、 使用者が操作を行うと、 その操作入力を受付け、 各種動作のトリガとなる操作信号を制御部 8 0 0に出力する。
ファン駆動部 8 7 0は、 制御部 8 0 0からのファン駆動コマンドに従い、 駆動 回路 (図示せず) によ'りファン 8 7 5を駆動 (回転) させる。 また、 ファン 8 7 5は、 プロジェクタ 1の内部に複数設置され、 回転することにより、 プロジェク タ 1の外部から外気を吸 して、 空気の流れを起し、 発光部 5 0 0、 光変調部 7 0および電源部 8 5 0などで発生する熱を放熱させて、 温まった空気をプロジェ クタ 1の外部に排気することにより冷却している。 電源部 8 .5 0は、 外部電源 8 8 0からの交流電力をプラグから導き、 内蔵する A C D C変換部.(いずれも図示省略) で変圧、 整流および平滑などの処理を行 い、 安定化させた直流電圧をプロジェクタ 1.の各部に供給する。
光源装置 1 0の固体高周波発振部 1 0 0は、 制御部 8 0 0からの制御コマンド に従い、 発光部 5 0 0を発光 (点灯) および非発光 (消灯) を行う。
図 7は、 図 1に示したプロジェクタの光学系の各構成部を具体的に示す図であ る。 図 7を用いて、 プロジェクタ 1の光学系 5の構 ifおよび動作を説明する。 光学系 5は、 図 1で記述したように、 光源装置 1 ひと照明光学系 6 0と光変調 部 7 0と色合成光学系 8 0と投写部 9 0 から構成されている。 そして、 光源装 置 1 0から射出された光束を光変調部 7 0で画像情報に応じて変調して光学像を 形成し、 投写部.9 0を介して、 形成した光学像をスク リーン S (図.6に図示) 上 に投写するものである。 なお、 光源装置, 1 0において、 固体'高周波発振部 1 0 0 および導波部 4 0 0の駆動により.、 マイクロ波が、 発光部 5. 0 0の無電極発光管 5 1 0の内部に封入する発光物質.5 1 1を励起し発光させるまでの構成および動 作に関'しては、 図 2を用いて説明しているため、 ここでは、 それ以降の光学系 5 の構成および動作を説明する。 . ,
光学系 5は、 図 7に示すように、 光源装置 1 0に加えて、 照明光学系 6 0を構 成するインテグレータ照^光学系 6 1と色分離光学系 6 2とリ レー光学系 6 3と、 光変調部 7 0と、 色合成光学系 8 0と、 投写部 9 0を構成する投写レンズ 9 1と 'から構成ざれる。 また、 光学部品用筐体 6 5により、 照明光学系 6 0と光変調部 7 0と色合成光学系 8 0とを構成する各部品が収容され、 一体にュニッ ト化され ている。 なお、 本実施形態での光学系 5を構成する照明光学系 6 0は、 使用する 光学系により、 適宜変更や省略など行うことができる。
照明光学系 6 0を構成するインテグレ一タ照明光学系 6 1は、 光源装置 1 0か ら射出された光束を照明光軸 (一点鎖線で図示) に直交する面内における照度を 均一にするための光学系である.。 このインテグレータ照明光学系 6 1は、 光源装 置 1 0、 第 1 レンズアレイ 6 1 1、 第 2レンズアレイ 6 1 2、 偏光変換素子 6 1 3、 および重畳レンズ 6 1 4を備えて構成される。
第 1 レンズアレイ 6 1 1は、 照明光軸方向から見て略矩形形状の輪郭を有する 小レンズがマトリクス状に配列された構成を有している。 各小レンズは、 光源装 置 1 0から射出された光束を部分光束に分割し、 照明光軸方向に射出する。 . 第 2 レンズアレイ 6 1 2は、 第 1 レンズアレイ 6 1 1と略同様の構成であり、 小レンズがマトリクス状に配列された構成を有する。 この第 2 レンズアレイ 6 1 2は、 重畳レンズ 6 1 4とともに、 第 1 レン Xァレイ 6 1 1の各小レンズの像を 後迩する液晶パネル 7 1上に結像させる機能を有する。
偏光変換素子 6 1 3は、 第 2レンズアレイ .6 1 2からの光を略 1種類の偏光光 に変 mするものであり、 これにより、 光変調部 7 0での光の利用効率が高められ ている。 詳細には、 偏光変換素子 6 1 3によって略 1種類の偏光光に変換された 各部分光束は、 重畳レンズ 6 1 4によって最終的に光変調部 7 0の後述する液晶 パネル 7 1上にほぼ重畳される。 偏光光を変調するタイプの液晶パネル 7 1を用 いたプロジェクタでは、 1種類の偏光光しか利用できないため、 ランダムな偏光 光を発する無電極発光管 5 1 0からの光束の略半分が利用ざれない。 このため、 偏光変換素子 6 1 3を用いることにより、 無電極発光管 5 1 ひから射出された光
束を略 1種類の偏光光に変換し、 光変調部 7 0における光の利用効率を高めてい る。 . . . · ■ ' - ·
色分離光学系 6 2は、, 2枚のダイクロイツクミラー 6 2 1, 6 2 2と、 反射ミ ラー 6 2 3とを備える。 インテグレータ照明光学系 6 1から射出された複数の部 分光束は、 2枚のダイクロイツクミラー 6 2 1 , 6 2 2により赤 (R )、 緑(G )、 青 (B ) の 3色の色光に分離される。
リ レー光学系 6 3は、 入射側レンズ 6 3 1 と、 一対のリ レーレンズ 6 3 3 と反. '射ミラー 6 3 2, 6 3 5とを備えている。 このリ レー光学系 6 3は、. 本実施形態 では、 色分離光学系 6 2で分離された色光である青色光を光変調部 7 0の後述す る青色光用の液晶パネル 7 1 Bまで導く機能を有している。
この際、 色分離光学系 6 2のダイク口イツクミラー 6 2 1では、 インテグレー タ照明光学系 6 1から射出された光束のうち、 緑色光成分と青色光成分とは透過 し、 赤色光成分は反射する。 ダイクロイツクミラー 6 2 1によって反射した赤色 光は、 反射ミラー 6 2 3で反射し、 フィールドレンズ 6 1. 9を通って、 赤色光用 の液晶パネル 7 1 Rに到達する。 このフィールドレンズ 6. 1 9は、 第 2 レンズァ レイ 6 1 2から射出された各部分光束をその中心軸 (主光線) に対して平行な光 束に変換する。 青色光および緑色光用の液晶パネル 7 1 B , 7 1 Gの光入射側に 設けられたフィールドレンズ 6 1 9も同様である。 .
また、 ダイクロイツクミラー 6 2 1を透過した青色光と緑色光の.うち、 緑色光 は、 ダイクロイックミラー 6 2 2によって反射し、 フィールドレンズ 6 1 9を通 つて、 緑色光用の液晶パネル 7 1 G.に到達する。 一方、 青色光は、 ダイクロイツ クミラー 6 2 2を透過してリ レー光学系 6 3を通り、 さらにフィールドレンズ 6 1 9を通って、 青色光用の液晶パネル 7 1 Bに到達する。 なお、 青色光にリ レー 光学系 6 3が用いられているのは、 青色^;の光路の長さが他の色光の光路の長さ よりも長いため、 光の発散等による光の利用効率の低下を防止するためである。 すなわち、 入射側レンズ 6 3 1に入射した部分光束をそのまま、 フィールドレン 'ズ 6 1 9に伝えるためである。 なお、 リレー光学系 6 3には 3つの色光のうち の青色光を通す構成としたが、 これに限らず、 例えば、 赤色光を通す構成として も良い。
光変調部 7 0は、 入射された光束を画像情報に応じて変調してカラー画像を形 成する。 この光変諷部 7 0は、 色分離光学系 6 2で分離され 各色光が入射され る 3つの入射偏光板 7 2 (赤色光用を赤色光入射偏光板 7 2 R、 緑色光用を緑色 光入射偏光板.7 2 G、 '青色光用を青色光入射偏光板 7 2 Bとする) を備える。 ま た、 各入射偏光板 7 2の後段に設置される光変調装置としての 3つの液晶パネル 7 1 (赤色光用を赤色光液晶パネル 7 1 R、緑色光用を緑色光液晶パネル 7 1 G、 青色'光用を青色光液晶パネル 7 1 Bとする) を備える。 また、 各液晶パネル 7 1 の後段に設置される 3つの射出偏光板 7 3 (赤色光用を赤色光射出偏光板 7 3 R、 緑色光用を緑色光射出偏光板 7 3 G、青色光用を青色光射出偏光板 7 3 Bとする) を備える。
色合成光学系 8 0は、 1つのクロスダイクロイツクプリズム 8 1を備える。 液晶パネル 7 1 ( 7 1 R , 7 1 G , 7 1 B ) は、 例えば、 ポリシリコン T F T (Thin Fi lm Transistor) 'をスイッチング素子として用いたものであり、 対向配 置される一対の透明基板内に液晶が密封封入されている。 .そして、 この液晶パネ ル 7 1は、 入射偏光板 7 2を介して入射する光束を画像情報に応じて変調して射 出する。
入射偏光板 7 2は、 色分離光学系 6 2で分離された各色光のうち、. 一定方向の 偏光光のみ透過させ、 その他の光束を吸収するものであり、 サファイアガラス等 の基板に偏光膜が貼付されたものである。 また、 射出偏光板 7 3も、 入射偏光板 7 2と略同様に構成され、 液晶パネル 7 1から射出された光束のうち、 所定方向 の偏光光のみ透過させ、 その他の光束を吸収するものであり、 透過させる偏光光 の偏光軸は、 入射偏光板 7 2における透過させる偏 ¾光の偏光軸に対して直交す るように設定されている。
. クロスダイクロイツクブリズム 8 1は、,射出偏光板 7 3から射出され、 色光毎 に変調された光学像を合成してカラー画像を形成するものである。 このクロスダ ィクロイツクプリズム 8 1には、 赤色光を反射する誘電体多層膜と青色光を反射 —する誘電体多層膜とが、 4つの直角プリズムの界面に沿って X字状に設けられ、 これらの誘電体多 i 膜により 3つの色光が合成される。 クロスダイクロイツクプ リズム 8 1によって合成された色光は、 投写部 9 0を構成する投写レンズ 9 1の 方向に射出される。 そして、 クロスダイクロイツクプリズム 8 1から射出された 映像光は、 投写レンズ 9 1により、 スクリーン- S上に投写される'。 .
なお、 上述した液晶パネル 7 1 ( 7 1 R , 7 1 G , 7 1 B )、射出偏光板 7 3 ( 7 3 R , 7 3 G , 7 3 B ) およびクロスダイクロイツクプリズム 8 1は、 一体とな るようにユニッ ト化されている。
上述した、 第 1実施形態によれば 下の効果が得られる。 -
( 1 ) 本実施形態の光源装置 1 0によれば、 固体高周波発振部 1 0 0と導波部 4 0 0と発光部 5 0 0とにより、 フィラメントや真空管構造を有し、 サイズの大 きいマグネトロン発振管を用いることなく、 マイクロ波を放射させて、 発光部 5 0 0 (無電極発光管 5 1 0 ) を発光させる。 そして、 発光部 5 0 0で発光した光 束を光変調部 7 0で画像情報に応じて変調して光学像を形成し、 投写部 9 0を介 して形成された光学像を投写する。 これにより、 固体高周波発振部 1 0 0の小型 化および長寿命化と、 発光部 5 0 0の長寿命化を図ることができる。 従って、 こ の光源装置 1 0を用いるプロジェクタ 1の小型化および長寿命化を図ることが可 能となる。 ( 2 ) 本実施形態の光源装置 1 0によれば、 アンテナ 4 2 0は、 導電性材料を 含んで構成される容器 4. 3 0の空間 4 3 3内でマイクロ波を放射することなどに より、 マイクロ波の漏れを抑制することが可能となるため、 I S M帯で使用され ている Bluetooth (登録商標)、 Zigbee (登録商標)、 Home RF WLAN等の無線通信 機器や医療機器などに対する悪影響を抑制することができる光源装置 1 0を提供 できる。 また、 この光源装置 Γ 0 'を用いるプロジェクタ 1は、 I S M帯で使用さ れている Bluetooth (登録商標)、 Zigbee (登録商標)、 Home RF、 WLAN等の無線通 信機器や医療機器に対する悪影響を抑制することができる。
( 3 ) 本実施形態の光源装置 1. 0によ ば、 安全器.4 4 0としてのアイソレー タ 4 4 1は、 固体高周波発振部 1 0 0の第 1増幅器 1 2 0の後段で、 アンテナ 4
2 0との間に設置されている。 そのため、 アンテナ 4 2 0'からマイクロ波を放射 した結果と.して、 対象物となる容器 4 3 Qや無電極発光管 5 '1 0などからの反射 波が固体高周波発振部 1 0ひに戻ることを阻止し、 第 1増幅器 1 2 0などの故障 を防止できる。 従って、 この光源装置 1 0を用いるプロジェクタ 1は、 更に安全 性が向上する。 ―. .
( 4 ) 本実施形態.の光源装置 1 0によれば、 固体高周波発振部' 1 0 0を構成す る固体高周波発振器 2 0 0は、 弾性表面波共振子 3 0 0を有する弾性表面波発振 器 2: 0 1を備えている。 そのため、 G H Z帯での動作周波数付近での急峻なダイ レク ト発振が可能で、 低位相ノイズ特性を持たせることが可能となると共に、 高 精度で高性能な基本周波数の発振信号を得ることができる。 よって、 光源装置 1 0は、 マイクロ波の出力周波数を安定的に維持し、 無電極発光管 5 1 0内で安定 して発光する。 従って、 この光源装置 1 0を用いるプロジェクタ 1は、 安定した 輝度を維持して投写することが可街 なる。
( 5 ) 本実施形態の光源装置 1 0によれば、 弾性表面波共振子 3 0 0は、 ダイ ャモンド単結晶層 3 1 2 (または、 多結晶ダイヤモンドに一致または近い弾性定 数を持つ硬質炭素層の上に積層された圧電体層)、圧電体層 3 1 3、 I D T電極 3 1 4および酸化珪素層 3 1 5の積層構造となっている。 これにより、 弾性表面波 の伝達速度を高速化することができ、 より高い周波数まで発振させることが可能 となる。 そして、 他の基板材料と比較して弾性表面波共振子 3 0 0の電極幅を広 くすることができるため、 耐電力特性を向上させることができる。
また、 弾性表面波共振子 3 0 0の積層構造により、 温度変動に対する周波数変 '動を小さくすることができるため、 周波数温度特性が向上する。 そして、 温度変 動に起因する弹性表面波発振器 2 0 1の周波数変動を抑制することができ、 マイ クロ波出力を安定化させることができる。 それにより、 無電極発光管 5 1 0内で 安定して発光物質 5 1 1を発光させることが可能となる。 従って、 この光源装置 1 0を用いるプロジェクタ 1は、 更に安定した輝度を維持して投写することが可 能となる。
( 6 ) 本実施形態の光源装置 1 0によれば、 固体高周波発振部 1 0 0.、 導波部 4 0 0および発光部 5 0 Ciは、 光源装置 1 0としてユニッ ト化されているため、 取扱い易さが向上する。 また、 この光源装置 1 0を用いるプロジェクタ 1は、 プ ロジェクタ 1への光源装置 1 0の組込みや取外しなどの作業性が向上する。 '
( 7 ) 本実施形態の光源装置 1 0によれば、 弾性表面波共振子 3 0 0は、 積層 構造をしており、 半導体製造における微細加工技術を利用して製造されるため、 小型化でき、 軽量化も図れる。 これにより、 弾性表面波共振子 3 0 Qを用いる固 体高周波発振部 1 ひ 0は小型化でき、 軽量化も図れる。 従って、 'この光源装置 1 0.を用いるプロジェクタ 1の小型化 '軽量化が図れる。
( 8 ) 本実 形態の光輝装置 1 0によれば、 弾性表面波共振子 3 0 0としての ダイヤモンド S AW共振子 3 1 0は、 積層構造をしており、 半導体製造における 微細力 Pェ技術を利用して製造されている。 それにより、 共振子毎の共振周波数の パラツキが無い。 また、 弾性表面波共振子 3 0 0としてのダイヤモンド S A W共 振子 3 1 0は、 移相回路 2 1 0から信号を入力すると直ちに基板に弾性表面波を 励起して、 この弾性表面波の周波数に応じた高周波信号 (本実施形態では 2 . 4 5 G H z帯) を出力 る。 よって、 弾性表面波共振子 3 0 0を備えた固体高周波 振部 1 0 0から、 電源投入すると直ちに高周波信号を出力することができるた め、 直ちに導波部 4 0 0のアンテナ 4 2 0からマイクロ波を放射でき、 直ちに発 光部 5 0 0の無電極発光誉 5 1 0を発光させることができる。 従って、 この光源 装置.1 0を用いるプロジェクタ 1は、 電源投入すると発光部 5 0 0の無電極発光 管 5 1 0が直ちに発光し、 光変調部 7 0で形成されだ光学像を直ちに投^するこ .

とができる。 従来の高圧水銀ランプなどの放電ランプを用いた場合には、 プロジ ェクタの電源を投入しても、.放電ランプの特性上、 徐々に発光して輝度が上がる ため、 所定の輝度に達するまでには、 数分かかっていた。. しかし、 本発明のマイ クロ波を用いたプロジェクタ 1においては、プロジェクタ 1の電源を投入すると、 直ちに所定の輝度となる発光を行うことができるため、 待つことなくプロジェク タ 1を使用でき、 プロジェクダ 1の利便性が向上する。
( 9 ) 従来の高圧水銀ランプなどの放電ランプを用い'るプロジェクタの場合に は、 放電ランプを発光させるための、 電源となるバラス トなどが必要であり、 3 0 O W程度の電力を供給するには、 プロジェクタ 1の電源部 8 5 0とほぼ同等の 大きさ (体積) が必要であり、 プロジェクタの小型化のネックとなっていた。 こ れに対し、 本発明の光源装置 1 0を用いたプロジェクタ 1によれば、 固体高周波 発捩部 1 0 .0のみで放電ランプの発光が可能となり、 バラス'トが不必要となるた め、 プロジェクタ 1の小型化が図れる。
(第 2実施形態)
図 8は、 本発明の第 2実施形態に係る光源装置の固体高周波発振部の別の構成 を示すブロック図である。 図 8を用いて、 固体高周波発振部 9ひ 0の構成および 動作を説明する。 なお、 第 1実施形態と同様の構成部分には同番号を付す。
図 8に示す.ように、 '第 2実施形態め固体高周波発振部 9 0 0は、 第 1実施形態 での固体高周波発振部 1 0 0と比較して、 複数の第 1増幅器 1 2 0と加算器 9 1 0とを用いる構成となることが異なる。
固体高周波発振部 9 0 0は、 固体高周波発振器 2 0 0としてのダイヤモンド S . AW発振器 2 0 2と複数の第 1増幅器 1 2 0と加算器 9 1 0と電源 1 1 0とを備 えて構成される。 電源 1 1 0は、 ダイヤモンド S A W発振器 2 0 2と、 各第 1増 幅器 1 2 0に電力を供給している。 またダイヤモンド S A W発振器 2 0 2と加算 器 9 1 0との間に複数の第 1増幅器 1 2 0が並列接続されている。 そしてダイヤ モンド S A W発振器 2 0 2から出力された高周波信号は、 各第 1増幅器 1 2 0に 入力される。 各第 1増幅器 1 2 0は、 ダイヤモンド S A W発振器 2 0 2から入力 した高周波信号を増幅して、 加算器 9 1 0に出力する。 加算器 9 1 0は、 各第 1 増幅器 1 2 0から入力した高周波信号を加算して、 ごの加算された高周波信号を .

出力する。 この加算器 9 1 0から出力される高周波信号が、 固体高周波発振部 9 0 0から出力される高周波信号となる。 ' . 上述した、 第 2実施形態によれば、 第 1実施形態での効果に加えて、 以下の効 果が更に得られる。 ' ■
( 1 ) 本実施形態の固体 ^周波宪振部 9 0 0によれば、 ダイヤモンド S AW発 振器 2 0 2から入力した高周波信号を各第 1増幅器 1 2 0で増幅し、 加算器 9 1 0で合成しているので、.高周波信号をより高出力化することができる。 この固体 高周波発振部 9 0 0をプロジェクタ 1に用いると固体高周波発振部 1 0 0に比べ て、 更に高出力のマイクロ波を放射することが可能となり、 発光部 5 0.0の無電 極発光管 5 1 0は、 より高輝度で発光する。 従って、 この光源装置 1 0をプロジ ェクタ 1に用いることにより、 高輝度な光学像を投写するプロジェクタ 1を提供 できる。 . . . なお、 本発明は、 上述した実施形態に限定されず、 種々の変更や改良等加える ことが可能である。 変形例を以下に述べる。
(変形例 1 ) 前記実施形態での、 発光部 5 0 0のリフレクタ 5 3 0の反射面 5
3 1は放物面形状を用いており、 無電極発光管 5 1 0からの光束を反射させて略 平 fi1光束にしているが、 これは、 発光部 5 0 0以降のプロジェクタ 1の光学系 5 の構成がレンズァレイインテグレー夕の方式を用いているからである。 これに対 し、 ロッドインテグレータの方式を用いる場合には、 反射した光束が集光して口 ッドに入射するように、 リフレクタ 5 3 Qの反射面の形状を適宜形成することで 応できる。
(変形例 2 ) 前記実施形態でのプロジェクタ 1は、 光変調装置として液晶パネ ル 7 1を用いている。 しかし、 これに限らず、 一般に、 入射光を画像情報に応じ て変調するものであればよく、 マイクロミラー型光変調装置などを使用しても良 レ、。 なお、 マイグロミラー型光変調装置と'しては、 例えば、 D M D (Digital Micromirror Device) を用いることができる。 なお、 マイクロミラ一型光変調装 置を用いた場合には、 入射偏光板や射出偏光板などは不要とすることができ、 偏 光変換素子も不要とすることができる。
(変形例 3 ) 前記実施形態での光源装置 1 0は、 透過型液晶方式のプロジェク タ 1に用いられてい 。 し力 し、 これに限らず、 反射型液晶方式である L C O S (Liquid Crystal On Si l icon) 方式などを採用したプロジェクタに用いられても 同様の効果を.奏することが可能である。
(変形例 4 ) 前記実施形態での光変調部 7 0は、 液晶パネル 7 1を 3枚使用す る 3板方式を用いている。 しかし、 これに限らず、 液晶パネルを 1枚使用する単 板方式を用いても良い。 なお、 単板方式を用いた場合には、 照明光学系 6 0の色 分離光学系 6 2や色合成光学系 8 0などは不要とすることができる。
(変形例 5 ) 前記実施形態での光源装置 1 0は、 外部に設置されるスクリーン Sに光学像の投写を行うフロントタイプのプロジェクタ 1に適用している。 しか し、 これに限らず、 プロジェクタの内部にスクリーンを有して、 そのスクリーン に光学像を投写するリアタイプのプロジェクタにも適用可能である。.
―. (変形例 6 ) 前記実施形態での導波部 4 0 0の容器 4 3 0 形成される空間 4 3 3内は、 大気が収容されているが、 誘電率 1以上の部材として、 例えば高分子 材料を収容しても良い。 このような構造にすることで、 大気に比べ、 更にアンテ ナの長さを短くすることができるため、 容器 4 3 0め小型化が図れる。 従って、 光源装置 1 0の小型化が更に図られ、 プロジェ—クタ iの小型化を更に向上するこ とができる。
(変形例 7 .) 前記^施 態でのプロジェクタ 1に電圧調整部を設け、 固体高周 波発振部 1 0 0の第 1増幅器 1 2 0の増幅度を可変とすることでも良い。 このよ うな構成にすることで、 マイクロ波の出力パワーを可変できるため、 無電極発光 管 5 1 0の発光する光束の輝度を可変できる。従って、投写する映像のシーン' (例 えば、 明るいシーンゃ喑ぃシーン) に合わせて、 增幅度を調整することにより、 プロジェクタ 1から投写される映像光の輝度を映像のシーンに合わせて調整を行 うことができる。
(変形例 8 ) 前記実施形態での導波部 4 0 0は、 安全器 4 4 0としてアイソレ ータ 4 4 1を有しているが、 反射波の影響がない場合には、 アイソレータ 4 4 1 を用いなくても良い。 ま^、 その他のノイズなどによる固体高周波発振部 1 0 0 への影響がある場合には、 適宜安全器 4 4 0の構成内容を変更または追加しても 良い。 .

(変形例 9 )前記実施形態での光源装置 1 0は、固体高周波発振部 1 0 0で 2 . 4 5 G H z帯の高周波信号を出力し、 導波部 4 0 0のアンテナ 4 2 0からマイク 口波として放射しているが、 これに限らず、 容器 4 3 0からマイクロ波が漏れな いことを前提に、弾性表面波共振子 3 0 0の構成を適宜変更することにより、色々 な高周波信号を出力し、 マイクロ波として放射して、 無電極発光管 5 1 0を発光 させることも可能となる。 また、'このようにすることで、 無電極発光管 5 1. 0に 封入する発光物質 5 1 1の種類や発光具合 (発光色の具 ) に合わせるマイクロ 波を放射させることも可能となる。
(変形例 1 0 ) 前記実施形態での光源 置 1 0は、 プロジェクタ 1の光源とし て適用している。 しかし、 これに限らず、 小型軽量の光源装置 1 0は、 他の光学 機器に適用しても良い。 また、 航空、 船舶、 車輛などの照明機器や、 屋内照明機 器などへも好適に適用することがでぎる。: 1
以上説明したように、 本発明の光源装置によれば、 固体高周波発振部と導波部 とにより、 フィラメントや真空管構造を有し、 サイズの大きいマグネトロン発振 管を用いることなぐ、 マイクロ波を放射させて、 発光部を発光させる。 これによ り、 固体高周波発振部の小型化および長寿命化と、 発光部の長寿命化を図ること ができる。

Claims

請求の範囲
1 . 高周波信号を出力する固体高周波発振部と、 前記固体高周波発振部から出力 された前記高周波信号が入力され、 入力した前記高周波信号をマイクロ波として 放射する導波部と、
前記導波部から放射された前記マイクロ波により 光する発光部とを有するこ とを特徴とする光源装置。
2 . 請求項 1に記載の光源装置であって、
記固体高周波発振部は、 前記高周波信号を発生する固体高周波発振器と、 当 該固体高周波発振器で発生する前記高周波信号を増幅する'増幅器とを有し、 前記 波部は、 前記増幅器で增幅ざれた前記高周波信号を前記マイクロ波とし て放射するアンテナ部と、 導電性材料を含んで構成され、 前記アンテナ部を収容 し、 かつ前記アンテナ部から放射された前記マイクロ波を反射することにより収 束させる反射面に囲まれる空間を有する容器部とを有し、 .
前記発光部は、 前記容器部で前記マイクロ波を収束させる領域に設置され、 前 記容器部の外部に延出した部位を有し、. 前記マイクロ波により発光する発光物質 が封入された無電極発光管部と、 当該無電極発光管部の前記延出した部位を焦点 または略焦点として前記無電極発光管部で発 した光束を反射させる反射部とを 有することを特徴とする光源装置。 '
3 . 請求項 1または請求項 2に記載の光源装置であって、 ' ' . 前記マイクロ波が放射される対象物からの反射波が前記増幅器に戻ることを阻 止する安全部を前記増幅器と前記アンテナ部との間に有することを特徴とする光 源装置。
4 . 請求項 1〜請求項 3のいずれか一項に記載の光源装置であって、
前記固体高周波発振器は、 弾性表面波共振子を有する弾性表面波発振器を有す ることを特徴とする光源装置。
5 . 請求項 4に記載の光源装置であって、
前記弾性表面波共振子は、 ダイヤモンド単結晶か、 または多結晶ダイヤモンド に一致または近い弾性定数を有する硬質炭素かのいずれかからなる第一の層と、 前記第一の層の上に積層された圧電体層と、 当該圧電体層の上に形成された櫛形 電極と、 当該櫛形電極の上に積層された酸化珪素層とを有することを特徴とする 光源装置。 ' ' .
6 . 請求項 1〜請求項 5のいずれか一項に記載の光源装置であって、
前記固体高周波発振部は、 前記固体高周波発振器に並列に接続され前記固体高 周波発振器で発生する前記高周波信号を入力する複数の ¼記増幅器と、 当該複数 の前記増幅器で増幅された高周波信号を加算して出力する加算器とを有すること を特徴とする光源装置。
7 . 請求項 2に記載の光源装置であって、
前記容器の有する前記空間は、 誘電率が 1以上の部材を'収容することを特徴と する光源装置。 '
8 . 請求項 1〜請求項 7のいずれか一項に記載の光源装置であって、
前記固体高周波発振部、 前記導波部および前記発光部は、 ュニッ ド化されてい . ることを特徴とする光源装置。 . 、
9 . 請求項 1〜請求項 8のいずれか一項に記載の光源装置であって、
前記高周波信号は、 3 0 O MH z〜 3 0 G H zの周波数の信号であることを特 徴とする光源装置。 '
1 0 . 高周波信号を出力する固体高周波発振部と、 前記固体高周波発振部から出 力された前記高周波信号を入力し、 入力した前記高周波信号をマイクロ波として - 放射する導波部と、 前記導波部から放射された前記マイクロ波により発光する発. 光部とを有する光源装置と、
前記光源装置で発光した光束を画像情報に応じて変調して光学像を形成する光 変調部と、
前記光変調部により形成された前記光学像を投写する投写部とを有することを 特徴とするプロジェクタ。
