Definitions
- the present invention relates to an aqueous foam wallpaper with a fire-re tardant characteristic and a method for fabricating the same, and more particularily to an aqueous foam wallpaper having enhanced embossing formability and a method for fabricating the same, in which embossing formability of the aqueous foam wallpaper is significantly enhanced, thereby minimizing aging characteristics of an aqueous foam composition so as to provide an environment-friendly wallpaper when products are fabricated.
- Conventional aqueous foam wallpaper is fabricated by coating a composition, which is formed by mixing kinds of synthetic resins, an aqueous foaming agent, and an inorganic filler, on a surface of base wallpaper and in turn drying the wallpaper, or by coating an aqueous foam composition on a base non- woven fabric and attaching a non- woven fabric or tissue paper to the base non- woven fabric before performance of the processes of drying, printing, top-coating, foaming, and embossing the wallpaper.
- the conventional foam wallpaper fabricated as described above has several problems when the wallpaper is fabricated. Specifically, when a sectional area of the conventional foam wallpaper is photographed using a microscope, it will be known that the base layer of the wallpaper and the composition layer are definitely distinguished from each other. This causes following problems.
- the aqueous foam wallpaper has a problem in that its embossing formability is lower than that of conventional PVC wallpaper.
- PVC sol has an excellent formability because it may be easily changed from a sol-state into a gel state.
- aqueous foam products are made to be a gel state artificially, there is a problem in that it has the formability inferior to that of the PVC wallpaper.
- the conventional aqueous foam wallpaper is fabricated by a process of preparing a base wallpaper, a coating process in which an aqueous foam composition is coated on a surface of the base wallpaper, a printing process (printing the base wallpaper at 3 to 5 degrees), a drying process, a foaming process, and an embossing process.
- a printing process printing the base wallpaper at 3 to 5 degrees
- a drying process drying the base wallpaper at 3 to 5 degrees
- a drying process a foaming process
- an embossing process which is a forming process carried out under a high pressure of 3 to 10kg/cm , is performed for the base wallpaper after the drying processes for the base wallpaper are repeatedly carried out at an average temperature of 180 to 25O 0 C in a moisture permeable-high temperature oven, the tissues of the base wallpaper are seriously destroyed.
- the conventional aqueous foam wallpaper is produced by a process in which the aqueous foam composition is simply deposited on a surface of the base wallpaper because embossing formability may be influenced by the aqueous foaming agent, it has problems in that its embossing formability is degraded in comparison with that of PVC wallpaper, and that abrasion resistance of its surface decreases.
- the present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems occurring in the prior art, and it is an object of the present invention to provide an aqueous foam wallpaper having enhanced embossing formability and a method for fabricating the same, in which embossing formability of the aqueous foam wallpaper is significantly enhanced, thereby minimizing aging characteristics of an aqueous foam composition so as to provide an environment-friendly wallpaper when products are fabricated.
