 テープ上にTCPが複数形成されたキャリアテープ5を、プッシャユニット3によって支持しつつ、テストヘッドに電気的に接続されているプローブカード8に押圧し、TCPの外部端子をプローブ81に接続させることにより、複数のTCPを順次試験に付すことのできるTCPハンドラ2において、プッシャユニット3は、トルクモータ41と、そのトルクモータ41の駆動によってキャリアテープ5に所定の張力を付与することのできるテンションスプロケット35aとを備えており、トルクモータ41の駆動軸411と、テンションスプロケット35aの回転軸351との間には、振動を吸収することのできる接続部材(フレキシブルカップリング)43が介在している。

Description

T C Pハンドリング装置 技術分野
本発明は、 I Cデバイスの 1種である T C P (Tape Carrier Packag e) や C〇 F (Chip On Film) (以下、 T C P、 C〇 F、 その他 TAB (Tape Automated Bonding)実明装技術によって製造されたデバイスを纏 めて 「T C P」 という。 ) を試験するのに用いられる T C Pハンドリン グ装置に関するものである。 書 背景技術
I Cデバイス等の電子部品の製造過程においては、最終的に製造され た I Cデバイスやその中間段階にあるデバイス等の性能や機能を試験 する電子部品試験装置が必要であり、 TC Pの場合には、 TC P用の試 験装置が使用される。
T C P用の試験装置は、 一般的にテスタ本体と、 テストヘッ ドと、 τ
C Pハンドリング装置 (以下 「T C Pハンドラ」 という場合がある。 ) とから構成される。 この T C Pハンドラは、 テ一プ (フィルムの概念も 含むものとする。 以下同じ。 ) 上に T C Pが複数形成されたキャリアテ
—プを搬送して、テストへッ ドに電気的に接続されでいるプローブ力一 ドのプローブにキヤリアテープを押圧し、 T C Pの外部端子をプローブ にコンタクトさせることにより、複数の TC Pを順次試験に付す機能を 備えている。
このような T C Pハンドラは、 一般的に、 キャリアテープをプローブ に押し付けるプッシャ本体と、キヤリァテープを支持し当該キヤリアテ 04 006680
ープを搬送するスプロケッ トとを備えている。 スプロケッ 卜には、 プッ シャ本体の後段側でキヤリァテープを駆動するメインスプロケッ トと、 プッシャ本体の前段側でキヤリァテープの搬送を補助する補助スプロ ケッ トとがあり、 通常、 メインスプロケッ トはステツビングモー夕に接 続され、補助スプロケッ トはメインスプロケッ トと同期回転するように なっている。
しかしながら、 上記のような構成では、 キヤリァテープに十分な張力 を与えることができないため、キヤリァテープ搬送中にキヤリァテープ がばたつき、キヤリァテープを高速で搬送することができないという問 題や、キヤリァテープを停止させたときにもキヤリァテープにたるみが 発生し、プローブに対する T C Pの位置合わせを正確に行うことができ ないという問題があった。
また、 キャリアテープに張力を与えるために、 補助スプロケットを強 制的に若干量逆回転させる手法もあるが、その場合にはキヤリアテープ に過度のストレスを与える難点があった。 発明の開示
本発明は、 このような実状に鑑みてなされたものであり、 キャリアテ ープに適正な張力を付与し、 キャリアテープ (T C P ) の位置決めを正 確に行うことができるとともに、搬送中のキヤリァテープのばたつきを 抑制することのできる T C Pハンドリング装置を提供することを目的 とする。
上記目的を達成するために、 第 1に本発明は、 テープ上に T C Pが複 数形成されたキヤリアテープを、 搬送装置によって搬送しつつ、 プッシ ャによって、テストへッ ドに電気的に接続されているコンタク ト部に押 圧し、 T C Pの外部端子を前記コンタク ト部に接続させることにより、 複数の T C Ρを順次試験に付すことのできる Τ C Ρハンドリング装置 であって、 前記搬送装置は、 キャリアテープを支持して当該キャリアテ ープを走行および停止させるために、前記プッシャの前段側に第 1のス プロケッ ト、 後段側に第 2のスプロケッ トを備えており、 前記第 1のス プロケッ トには、前記第 1のスプロケッ トを回転させることのできる駆 動源が接続されており、 前記駆動源は、 前記第 1のスプロケッ トおよび 前記第 2のスプロケッ トに支持されたキヤリァテープに対して、所定の 張力が付与されるように制御されることを特徴とする T C Ρハンドリ ング装置を提供する (発明 1 ) 。
上記発明 (発明 1 ) においては、 第 1のスプロケッ トの駆動源の制御 により、 キヤリァテープに過度のストレスを与えることなく、 適度な張 力でキヤリアテープを支持することができる。 それによつて、 キャリア テープの停止時には、 キャリアテープ (T C P ) の位置決めを正確に行 うことができ、 キヤリァテープの搬送時には、 キヤリァテープのばたつ きを抑制してキヤリアテープを高速搬送すること、ひいては T C Pハン ドリング装置の処理速度の向上を図ることができる。
上記発明 (発明 1 ) において、 前記駆動源が前記第 1のスプロケッ ト に付与する回転力は、前記第 2のスプロケッ トの回転方向とは逆方向の 回転力であることが好ましい (発明 2 ) 。
上記発明 (発明 1 , 2 ) において、 前記第 1のスプロケッ トと前記駆 動源との間には、振動を吸収することのできる接続部材が介在している ことが好ましい (発明 3 ) 。
上記発明 ( 3 ) によれば、 第 1のスプロケッ トの駆動源の駆動軸に振 動が発生したとしても、 接続部材が駆動軸の振動を吸収 (必ずしも振動 を 1 0 0 %吸収することを意味するものではない。本明細書にて同じ。) した上で駆動軸の回転力を第 1のスプロケッ トに伝達することができ る。 これにより、 第 1のスプロケッ トの振動が低減し、 当該振動に起因 するキヤリァテ一プのばたつきやキヤリァテープ (T C P ) の位置ずれ が効果的に抑制される。
第 2に本発明は、テープ上に T C Pが複数形成されたキヤリァテープ を、 搬送装置によって搬送しつつ、 プッシャによって、 テストヘッ ドに 電気的に接続されているコンタクト部に押圧し、 T C Pの外部端子を前 記コンタク ト部に接続させることにより、複数の T C Pを順次試験に付 すことのできる T C Pハンドリング装置であって、 前記搬送装置は、 前 記プッシャの前段側に設けられた、キヤリアテープを支持し得るスプロ ケッ トと、前記スプロケッ トに対しキヤリアテープの走行方向とは逆の 回転方向の回転力を付与することのできる駆動源と、前記駆動源の駆動 軸および前記スプロケッ 卜の回転軸の間に設けられた、振動を吸収する ことのできる接続部材とを備えていることを特徴とする T C Pハンド リング装置を提供する (発明 4 ) 。
上記発明 (発明 4 ) によれば、 駆動源の駆動軸に振動が発生したとし ても、接続部材が駆動軸の振動を吸収した上で駆動軸の回転カをスプロ ケッ トの回転軸に伝達することができる。 これにより、 スプロケットの 振動が低減し、当該振動に起因するキヤリアテープのばたつきやキヤリ ァテープ (T C P ) の位置ずれが効果的に抑制される。
上記発明 (発明 4 ) においては、 前記接続部材が、 少なくともねじれ 方向に柔軟性を有する部材であることが好ましい (発明 5 ) 。 かかる部 材によれば、簡単な構造で効果的に駆動軸の振動を吸収することができ る。 かかる部材としては、 例えば、 いわゆるフレキシブルカップリング といわれる軸継手を使用することができるが、 これに限定されるもので はない。
上記発明 (発明 4, 5 ) においては、 前記接続部材が、 ベローズ構造 を有する部材であることが好ましい (発明 6 ) 。 かかる部材によれば、 ベローズ構造によって効果的に駆動軸の振動を吸収することができる とともに、駆動軸の回転力を効率的にスプロケッ トの回転軸に伝達する ことができる。
上記発明 (発明 4〜6 ) において、 前記駆動源はトルクモータである ことが好ましい (発明 7 ) 。 トルクモータによれば、 上記スプロケッ ト による張力付与の制御が容易である。 また、 駆動源がトルクモー夕の場 合に駆動軸に振動が発生し易いが、その振動を接続部材によって吸収す ることができる。
上記発明 (発明 4〜 7 ) において、 前記スプロケッ トは、 キャリアテ ープを上側から支持するようにフレームに設けられており、前記フレー ムには、キヤリアテープを下側から支持しガイ ドするテープ支持部材が 設けられていてもよい (発明 8 ) 。
上記発明 (発明 8 ) によれば、 スプロケッ トおよびテープ支持部材に よってキヤリアテープを上下方向から支持することができるため、キヤ リァテープの無用な挙動を効果的に防止して、より高速な搬送が可能と なり、 T C Pハンドリング装置の処理速度を向上させることができると ともに、 キヤリァテープの位置ずれを効果的に抑制することができる。 第 2に本発明は、テープ上に T C Pが複数形成されたキヤリァテープ を、 搬送装置によって搬送しつつ、 プッシャによって、 テストヘッ ドに 電気的に接続されているコンタク ト部に押圧し、 T C Pの外部端子を前 記コンタクト部に接続させることにより、複数の T C Pを順次試験に付 すことのできる T C Pハンドリング装置であって、 前記搬送装置は、 前 記プッシャの前段側および または後段側にてキヤリァテープを上側 から支持し搬送するスプロケッ トと、前記スプロケッ トを支持するフレ 一ムとを備えており、 前記フレームには、 キャリアテープを下側から支 持しガイ ドするテープ支持部材が設けられていることを特徴とする T C Pハンドリング装置を提供する (発明 9 ) 。
上記発明 (発明 9 ) によれば、 スプロケッ トおよびテープ支持部材に よってキヤリァテープを上下方向から支持することができるため、キヤ リアテープの無用な挙動を効果的に防止して、より高速な搬送が可能と なり、 T C Pハンドリング装置の処理速度を向上させることができると ともに、スプロケッ トの振動等に起因するキヤリァテープの位置ずれを 効果的に抑制することができる。
上記発明 (発明 9 ) においては、 キャリアテープを吸着保持すること のできる吸着装置をさらに備えていてもよい (発明 1 0 ) 。 この吸着装 置は、ガイ ドによって位置ずれが抑制されたキヤリァテープを吸着固定 することができ、 したがって被試験 T C Pの位置決めを容易に行うこと ができる。 図面の簡単な説明

以下、 本発明の実施形態を図面に基づいて詳細に説明する。
本発明の一実施形態に係る T C Pハンドラを用いた T C P試験装置 を図 1に示す。
T C P試験装置 1は、 図示しないテスタ本体と、 テス夕本体に電気的 に接続されたテストヘッ ド 1 0と、テストヘッ ド 1 0の上側に設けられ た T C Pハンドラ 2とから構成される。
T C Pハンドラ 2は、キャリアテープ 5上に複数形成された各 T C P を順次試験に付すものであり、 本実施形態では、 説明の簡略化のために T C Pを 1個ごと試験に付すものとする。 ただし、 本発明はこれに限定 されるものではなく、キャリアテープ 5上において直列方向および Zま たは並列方向に並んだ複数の T C Pを同時に試験に付すようにしても よい。
T C Pハンドラ 2は、巻出リール 2 1 と巻取リール 2 2とを備えてお り、巻出リール 2 1には試験前のキヤリアテープ 5が巻き取られている。 キャリアテープ 5は、 巻出リール 2 1から巻き出され、 試験に付された 後に巻取リール 2 2に巻き取られる。
巻出リール 2 1 と巻取リ一ル 2 2との間には、キャリアテープ 5から 剥離した保護テープ 5 1を卷出リ一ル 2 1から巻取リール 2 2に架け 渡す 3個のスぺーサロール 2 3 a, 2 3 b , 2 3 cが設けられている。 各スぺーサロール 2 3 a , 2 3 b , 2 3 cは、 保護テープ 5 1の張力を 調整することができるように、 それぞれ上下可動となっている。
巻出リール 2 1の下側には、 テープガイ ド 2 4 a、 巻出リミッ トロー ラ 2 5 a、イン側サブスプロケッ ト 2 5 bおよびイン側ガイ ドローラ 2 2004/006680
5 cが設けられており、巻出リール 2 1から巻き出されたキャリアテ一 プ 5は、 テープガイ ド 2 4 aによってガイ ドされつつ、 卷出リミット口 —ラ 2 5 a、ィン側サブスプロケッ ト 2 5 bおよびィン側ガイ ドロ一ラ 2 5 cを経てプッシャュニッ ト 3に搬送される。
また、 巻取リール 2 2の下側には、 テープガイ ド 2 4 b、 巻取リミッ トロ一ラ 2 5 : f 、アウト側サブスプロケッ ト 2 5 eおよびアウト側ガイ ドロ一ラ 2 5 dが設けられており、試験に付された後のキャリアテープ 5は、 アウト側ガイ ドローラ 2 5 d、 アウト側ザブスプロケッ ト 2 5 e および巻取リミッ トローラ 2 5 ίを経て、テープガイ ド 2 4 bによって ガイ ドされつつ、 巻取リ一ル 2 2に巻き取られる。
イン側ガイ ドローラ 2 5 cと、アウト側ガイ ドローラ 2 5 dとの間に は、 プッシャュニッ ト 3が設けられており、 プッシャュニット 3の前段 側(図 1中左側)には第 1カメラ 6 aが、プッシャユニッ ト 3の下側(後 述するプローブカードステージ 7の内側) には第 2カメラ 6 bが、 プッ シャユニット 3の後段側 (図 1中右側) には第 3カメラ 6 cが設けられ ている。 また、 プッシャユニッ ト 3と第 3カメラ 6 cとの間には、 マ一 クパンチ 2 6 aおよびリジェクトパンチ 2 6 bが設けられている。 マ一クパンチ 2 6 aは、 試験の結果に基づいて、 該当する T C Pにつ き所定の位置に 1個または複数個の孔を開けるものであり、 リジェク ト パンチ 2 6 bは、試験の結果不良品であると判断された T C Pを打ち抜 ぐものである。 ― - 各カメラ 6 a, 6 b , 6 cは、 図示しない画像処理装置に接続されて おり、 第 1カメラ 6 aおよび第 3カメラ 6 cは、 キヤリァテープ 5上に おける T C Pの有無やマークパンチ 2 6 aによる孔の位置や数を判断 するためのものであり、 第 2カメラ 6 bは、 キャリアテープ 5上の T C Pとプローブとの位置ずれの情報を取得するためのものである。本実施 形態における第 2カメラ 6 bは、視野内の複数の対象についての位置ず れ情報を取得することができるようになつている。
第 2カメラ 6 bは、 カメラステージ 6 1上に搭載されており、 カメラ ステージ 6 1が有するァクチユエ一夕によって平面視縦横方向(X軸— Y軸方向) および上下方向 (Z軸方向) に移動可能となっている。
T C Pハンドラ 2の本体部には、ポールねじ 3 2を回転させることの できるサーポモ一夕 3 1がブラケッ ト 3 6 1を介して取り付けられて いるとともに、ポールねじ 3 2が螺合しているプッシャ本体部 3 3が 2 本の Z軸方向のリニアモーションガイ ド 3 7を介して取り付けられて いる。 このプッシャ本体部 3 3は、 サーポモ一夕 3 1を駆動させること により、 リニアモーションガイ ド 3 7にガイ ドされながら上下方向 (Z 軸方向) に移動可能となっている。 また、 プッシャ本体部 3 3とプッシ ャユニッ ト 3のフレーム (プッシャフレーム) 3 6とは、 図示しない連 動機構によって接続されており、上記のようにプッシャ本体部 3 3が上 下動すると、それに伴ってプッシャフレーム 3 6も上下動するようにな つている。
上記プッシャ本体部 3 3の下端部には、エアを吸引することによりキ ャリアテープ 5を吸着保持することのできる吸着プレート 3 4が設け られている。
プッシャフレーム 3 6におけるプッシャ本体部 3 3の前段側(図 1中 左側) には、 テンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aが設けられており、 プッシ ャ本体部 3 3の後段側 (図 1中右側) には、 メインスプロケッ ト 3 5 b が設けられている。 以下、 テンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aおよびメイン スプロケッ ト 3 5 bを纏めてプッシヤスプロケッ ト 3 5 a , 3 5 bとい う場合がある。
プッシャユニッ ト 3は、図示しないプッシャステージに接続されてい る。 プッシャステージは、 複数のポールネジを介してサーポモー夕に接 続されており (図示省略) 、 サーポモータの駆動により、 プッシャュニ ッ ト 3を水平方向(X Y平面方向)に移動させることができるとともに、 プッシャユニッ ト 3を垂直軸回り (Z軸回り) に回転させることができ る。
プッシャュニッ ト 3の下側であって、 テストヘッ ド 1 0の上部には、 プロ一ブカード 8を搭載したプローブカードステージ 7が設置されて いる。 プローブカードステージ 7は、 複数のポールネジを介してサ一ポ モ一夕に接続されており (図示省略) 、 サーポモータの駆動により、 プ ローブカード 8を水平方向 (X Y平面方向) に移動させることができる とともに、 プローブ力一ド 8を垂直軸回り (Z軸回り) に回転させるこ とができる。
複数のプローブ 8 1を備えたプローブカード 8は、 ピンによってプロ ーブカードステージ 7のカードリングに着脱自在に取り付けられてい る (図示省略) 。 なお、 プローブカード 8の各プローブ 8 1は、 テスト ヘッ ド 1 0を介してテスタ本体に電気的に接続されており、プローブ力 ード 8の下側であって、プローブ力一ドステージ 7の内側には第 2カメ ラ 6 bが位置している。
この T C P試験装置 1では、キャリアテープ 5はプッシャユニッ ト 3 の下側を通過するように搬送され、 このキャリアテープ 5をプッシャュ ニッ ト 3が吸着 ·支持しながらテストへッ ド- 1 0上のプ -—ブカード 8 に押圧する。 すると、 キヤリァテープ 5上の T C Pがプローブカード 8 のプローブ 8 1にコンタク トしてテスト信号が T C Pに印加され、 T C Pから読み出された応答信号は、テストへッ ド 1 0を通じてテスタ本体 に送られる。 これにより T C Pの性能や機能等が試験される。
かかる試験は、 キャリアテープ 5が搬送されることにより、 キャリア テープ 5上の全ての T C Pについて順次行われる。 そして、 試験結果に 基づいてマークパンチ 2 6 aまたはリジェク トパンチ 2 6 bが駆動さ れる。
[プッシャュニッ ト]
図 2は、図 1に示した T C Pハンドラのプッシャュニットの正面図で ある。 '
上述したように、プッシャュニッ ト 3のプッシャフレーム 3 6におけ るプッシャ本体部 3 3の前段側にはテンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aが、 後段側にはメインスプロケッ ト 3 5 bが設けられている。
メインスプロケッ ト 3 5 bは、 正回転および逆回転可能な主駆動源、 一般にステツビングモー夕により駆動され、キャリアテープ 5を所定間 隔にて搬送する。 一方、 テンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aは、 後述する駆 動装置によってキャリアテープ 5の走行方向に負荷をかけることによ り、 キャリアテープ 5に所定の張力を付与する。 これらのスプロケッ ト 3 5 a , 3 5 bの駆動は、 T C Pハンドラ 2の制御部 (図示省略) によ つて制御される。
このようにして、テンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aおよびメインスプロ ケッ ト 3 5 bは、プッシャ本体 3 3の両側からキヤリァテープを真つ直 ぐに張り、 キャリアテープ 5の位置精度を向上させる。
T C Pの試験時には、プッシャ本体部 3 3下端部の吸着プレート 3 4 によってキヤリアテープ 5を吸着保持し、テンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aおよびメインスプロケッ ト 3 5 bによってキャリアテープ 5を支持 しつつ、 プッシャユニッ ト 3が下方に移動し、 キャリアテープ 5をプロ ーブカード 8に押圧して、キヤリァテ一プ 5上の T C Pをプローブ力一 ド 8のプローブ 8 1にコンタクトさせる。
[テンションスプロケッ トの駆動装置] 図 3は、図 2に示したプッシャュニッ トにおけるテンションスプロケ ッ トの駆動装置の側面図である。 図 4は、 図 3に示した駆動装置におけ る接続部材の斜視図である。
テンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aの駆動装置 4は、 駆動源 4 1 と、 ブレ —キ部材 4 2と、 接続部材 4 3と、 筐体 4 4と、 回転軸 4 5とを含んで 構成される。
駆動源 4 1は、駆動軸 4 1 1にキヤリアテープ 5搬送方向とは逆方向 の回転力 (トルク) を与えるトルクモータである。 駆動軸 4 1 1に与え るトルクの大きさは、駆動源 4 1に与える電圧等によって制御すること ができる。 この駆動源 4 1は、 駆動軸 4 1 1がプッシャフレーム 3 6の 背面側から筐体 4 4内に差し込まれるようにして配置されており、駆動 軸 4 1 1は中間ギア 4 6 , 4 7を介して回転軸 4 5に連結されている。 本実施形態におけるブレーキ部材 4 2は、プッシャフレーム 3 6の背 面側にて回転軸 4 5に取り付けられており、非通電時に回転軸 4 5を把 持して回転軸 4 5の停止位置を保持し、通電時にその把持を解除するこ とができるものである。
これらの駆動源 4 1およびブレーキ部材 4 2は、 T C Pハンドラ 2の 制御部 (図示省略) に接続されており、 この制御部によって駆動が制御 される。
一方、 テンションスプロケット 3 5 aは、 その回転軸 3 5 1がプッシ ャフレーム 3 6の前面側から筐体 4 4内の軸受 3 5 2に差し込まれる ことにより、 当該軸受 3 5 2によって回転自在に支持されている。
ここで、 駆動源 4 1側の回転軸 4 5と、 テンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aの回転軸 3 5 1 とは、 接続部材 4 3を介して接続されている。 この接 続部材 4 3は、 振動を吸収する機能を有するものであり、 例えば、 ねじ れ方向に柔軟性を有する部材 (いわゆるフレキシブルカツプリング) が 用いられる。 本実施形態では、 図 3および図 4に示されるようなベロー ズカップリングが採用されている。ただし接続部材 4 3はこれに限定さ れるものではなく、 例えば、 弹性部材、 粘性部材その他の振動吸収部材 を使用することもできる。
キャリアテープ 5の停止時において、 メインスプロケッ ト 3 5 bは、 メインスプロケッ ト 3 5 bが支持しているキヤリァテープ 5を停止状 態に維持する。 一方、 駆動源 4 1は、 駆動軸 4 1 1にキヤリアテープ 5 搬送方向とは逆方向のトルクを与えているため、 中間ギア 4 6, 4 7 、 接続部材 4 3および回転軸 3 5 1を介して、テンションスプロケット 3 5 aはキヤリァテープ 5をその搬送方向とは逆方向に引っ張る(見た目 は停止状態にある) 。 ここで、 駆動軸 4 1 1に与えるトルクは、 駆動源 4 1に供給する電圧等を制御することで、所望の大きさに制御すること ができる。 これによつて、 キャリアテープ 5には所定の張力が付与され 、キャリアテープ 5の位置ずれを防止して T C Pの位置決めを容易に行 うことが可能となる。
キャリアテ一プ 5の搬送時には、 メインスプロケッ ト 3 5 bは、 主駆 動源によってメインスプロケッ ト 3 5 bが支持しているキヤリアテ一 プ 5を搬送方向 (図 1および図 2中右方向) に移動させる。 キャリアテ ープ 5の搬送により、メインスプロケッ ト 3 5 bとともにキャリアテー プ 5を支持しているテンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aには、正回転方向の ガが働く。 一方; 駆動源 4 1は、 駆動軸 4 1 1にキャリアテープ 5搬送 方向とは逆方向のトルクを与えている。 ただし、 その逆方向のトルクの 大きさは、 メインスプロケッ ト 3 5 bの主駆動源がメインスプロケッ ト 3 5 bを駆動するトルクの大きさよりも小さいため、キャリアテープ 5 の搬送により、 テンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aの回転軸 3 5 1、 接続部 材 4 3、 中間ギア 4 6 , 4 7および駆動源 4 1の駆動軸 4 1 1は、 駆動 源 4 1によるトルクがかかった状態で正回転方向に回転する。その結果
、 キャリアテープ 5には所定の張力が付与され、 キャリアテープ 5のば たつきを抑制してキャリアテープ 5を高速搬送すること、ひいては T C
Pハンドラ 2による処理速度の向上が可能となる。
上記のように、テンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aおよびメインスプロケ ッ ト 3 5 bによれば、キヤリァテープ 5の搬送中および停止中のいずれ においても、キャリアテープ 5に対して所定の張力を付与することがで きる。 キャリアテープ 5の張力の最適な大きさは、 キャリアテープ 5の 厚さ、 幅、 強度等; T C Pの重さ、 大きさ等;搬送速度などによって異 なり、テンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aの駆動源 4 1に与える電圧等を所 定の大きさに制御することによってキャリアテープ 5の張力を調整す ることができる。 これにより、 キャリアテープ 5のスプロケッ ト孔に過 度のストレスを与えることなく、適度な張力でキヤリアテープ 5を支持 することができる。 なお、 駆動源 4 1に与える電圧等は、 キャリアテ一 プ 5や駆動系の慣性モーメントを考慮して、 搬送速度、 搬送開始、 搬送 停止等の搬送条件の変更に応じて適宜変更するように制御してもよい。 ここで、駆動源 4 1の駆動軸 4 1 1に与えるトルクの大きさ等によつ ては、 駆動軸 4 1 1に振動が発生することがあり、 その振動は中間ギア 4 6 , 4 7を介して回転軸 4 5に伝達される。 かかる振動がテンション スプロケッ ト 3 5' A一き一介して搬送中のキヤリァテープ 5に伝達される と、 キヤリアテープ 5のばたつきや位置ずれの原因となる。
しかし、 本実施形態においては、 回転軸 4 5とテンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aの回転軸 3 5 1 との間には、振動を吸収することのできる接続 部材 4 3が介在しているため、その振動は接続部材 4 3によって吸収さ れた上で、回転軸 4 5の回転力がテンシヨンスプロケッ ト 3 5 aの回転 軸 3 5 1に伝達される。
本実施形態では、接続部材 4 3としてべローズカツプリングを使用し ているため、 上記回転軸 4 5の振動は効果的に吸収されるとともに、 回 転軸 4 5の回転力はテンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aの回転軸 3 5 1に 効率的に伝達される。
このようにして、駆動源 4 1の駆動軸 4 1 1に振動が発生した場合で あっても、その振動がテンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aに伝達されること が抑制され、 したがって、 テンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aの振動に起因 するキヤリァテープ 5のばたつきや位置ずれが効果的に抑制される。 なお、 本実施形態の T C Pハンドラ 2では、 駆動装置 4の接続部材 4 3はべローズカツプリングであり、 かかる構成は、 回転力が回転軸 4 5 からテンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aに伝達されるときに、回転軸 4 5の 振動が効果的に吸収される点で好ましい。 しかし、 これに限らず、 接続 部材 4 3の材質および形状 ·構造は、 当業者自明の範囲内にて任意に選 択できる。 具体的には、 接続部材 4 3は、 ねじり負荷等によって変形し て回転軸 4 5の振動を吸収できるものであれば足りる。 例えば、 接続部 材 4 3は、 ゴム材料からなる単純な柱状部材であっても良いし、 樹脂系 材料からなる蛇腹状部材であっても良いし、金属材料からなるコイル状 部材であっても良い (図示省略) 。
[プッシャュニットのテープ支持部材]
図 5および図 6は、図 2に示したプッシャユニッ トのテープ支持部材 の側面図 (図 5 ) および斜視図 (図 6 ) である。
本実施形態の T C Pハンドラ 2では、 図 2に示すように、 プッシャュ ニッ ト 3のプッシャフレーム 3 6におけるプッシャ本体 3 3 とテンシ ヨンスプロケッ ト 3 5 aとの間、およびプッシャ本体 3 3とメインスプ ロケッ ト 3 5 bとの間には、 一対のテープ支持部材 3 9 a, 3 9 bが設 けられており、 これらのテープ支持部材 3 9 a, 3 9 bによってキヤリ ァテープ 5が下方から支持される。
これらのテープ支持部材 3 9 a , 3 9 bは、 側面視略 L字型形状を有 し、その垂直部にてプッシャフレーム 3 6の壁面に固定されるとともに 、 その水平部をプッシャフレーム 3 6の前面側 (Y軸方向) に突出させ て設置されている (図 5, 図 6参照) 。
また、 テープ支持部材 3 9 a , 3 9 bの水平部の上面側には、 キヤリ ァテープ 5に形成された T C Pの外部端子がテープ支持部材 3 9 a , 3 9 bに接触しないように溝 3 9 1が形成されている。 このテ一プ支持部 材 3 9 a, 3 9 bは、 搬送されるキヤリアテープ 5を下側から支持し、 ガイ ドする機能を有する。
この T C Pハンドラ 2では、キヤリァテ一プ 5はテープ支持部材 3 9 a , 3 9 b上に掛け渡されて下側から支持されるとともに (図 2参照) 、 これらテープ支持部材 3 9 a , 3 9 bの前段側および後段側にて上側 からプッシヤスプロケッ ト 3 5 a , 3 5 bにより支持される。 このよう に、 キヤリァテープ 5は、 プッシャュニッ ト 3近傍にて上下方向から支 持されることとなるため、 キヤリァテープ 5の無用な挙動を防止して、 より高速な搬送が可能となり、 T C Pハンドラ 2の処理速度を向上させ ることができる。 また、 仮に前述したようなテンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aの駆動源 4 1からの振動がテンションスプロケッ ト 3 5 aに伝達 ざれたとじても、キャリアテ プ 5のばたつきや位置ずれは効果的に抑 制される。
さらに、 プッシャ本体 3 3の吸着プレート 3 4は、 T C Pの試験時に キャリアテープ 5を吸着保持することによりキャリアテープ 5を固定 し、 被試験 T C Pの位置決めを容易ならしめるが、 キャリアテープ 5に ばたつきが発生している状態では、安定した吸着ができないことがある。 6680
しかし、 キャリアテープ 5は、 プッシヤスプロケッ ト 3 5 a, 3 5 bお よびテープ支持部材 3 9 a , 3 9 bによって上下方向から支持され、 そ のばたつきが抑制されているため、吸着プレート 3 4によるキャリアテ ープ 5の吸着は安定したものとなり、キャリアテープ 5の位置ずれは効 果的に抑制される。 これにより、 被試験 T C Pの位置決めを正確に行う ことができる。
なお、 本実施形態の T C Pハンドラ 2では、 一対のテープ支持部材 3 9 a , 3 9 bが設けられており、 これらのテープ支持部材 3 9 a , 3 9 bによってキャリアテープ 5が支持されるので、単一のテープ支持部材 3 9のみが設けられる構成と比較して、キャリアテープ 5が安定的に支 持される。 これにより、 キャリアテープ 5のばたつきや位置ずれがより 効果的に抑制される。
ただし、 本発明はこれに限定されるものではなく、 単一のテープ支持 部材 3 9のみが設けられてもよいし、より多くのテープ支持部材 3 9が 設けられてもよい。 また、 テープ支持部材 3の形状は、 側面視略 L字型 形状に限定されるものではない。 産業上の利用の可能性
以上説明したように、本発明に係る T C Pハンドリング装置によれば、 キヤリァテープに適正な張力を付与し、 キヤリァテープ (T C P ) の位 置決めを正確に行うことができるとともに、搬送中のキャリアテープの ばたつきを抑制することができるため、 T C Pの試験を正確に、 かつ速 い処理速度で行うことができる。

Claims

請 求 の 範 囲
1 . テープ上に T C Pが複数形成されたキヤリァテープを、 搬送装置に よって搬送しつつ、 プッシャによって、 テストへッ ドに電気的に接続さ れているコンタク ト部に押圧し、 T C Pの外部端子を前記コンタク ト部 に接続させることにより、複数の T C Pを順次試験に付すことのできる T C Pハンドリング装置であって、
前記搬送装置は、キヤリアテープを支持して当該キヤリアテープを走 行および停止させるために、前記プッシャの前段側に第 1のスプロケッ ト、 後段側に第 2のスプロケッ トを備えており、
前記第 1のスプロケッ トには、前記第 1のスプロケッ トを回転させる ことのできる駆動源が接続されており、
前記駆動源は、前記第 1のスプロケッ トおよび前記第 2のスプロケッ トに支持されたキャリアテープに対して、所定の張力が付与されるよう に制御されることを特徴とする T C Pハンドリング装置。
2 . 前記駆動源が前記第 1のスプロケッ トに付与する回転力は、 前記第 2のスプロケッ トの回転方向とは逆方向の回転力であることを特徴と する請求項 1に記載の T C Pハンドリング装置。
3 . 前記第 1のスプロケッ トと前記駆動源との間には、 振動を吸収する ことのできる接続部材が介在していることを特徴とする請求項 1また は 2に記載の T C Pハンドリング装置。
4 . テープ上に T C Pが複数形成されたキャリアテープを、 搬送装置に よって搬送しつつ、 プッシャによって、 テストへッ ドに電気的に接続さ れているコンタク ト部に押圧し、 T C Pの外部端子を前記コンタク ト部 に接続させることにより、複数の T C Pを順次試験に付すことのできる T C Pハンドリング装置であつて、 前記搬送装置は、 前記プッシャの前段側に設けられた、 キャリアテー プを支持し得るスプロケッ トと、前記スプロケッ トに対しキャリアテ一 プの走行方向とは逆の回転方向の回転力を付与することのできる駆動 源と、前記駆動源の駆動軸および前記スプロケッ トの回転軸の間に設け られた、振動を吸収することのできる接続部材とを備えていることを特 徴とする T C Pハンドリング装置。
5 . 前記接続部材が、 少なくともねじれ方向に柔軟性を有する部材であ ることを特徴とする請求項 4に記載の T C Pハンドリング装置。
6 . 前記接続部材が、 ベローズ構造を有する部材であることを特徴とす る請求項 4または 5に記載の T C Pハンドリング装置。
7 .前記駆動源がトルクモー夕であることを特徴とする請求項 4〜 6の いずれかに記載の T C Pハンドリング装置。
8 . 前記スプロケッ トは、 キヤリァテープを上側から支持するようにフ レームに設けられており、 前記フレームには、 キヤリァテープを下側か ら支持しガイ ドするテープ支持部材が設けられていることを特徴とす る請求項 4〜 7のいずれかに記載の T C Pハンドリング装置。
9 . テープ上に T C Pが複数形成されたキャリアテープを、 搬送装置に よって搬送しつつ、 プッシャによって、 テストへッドに電気的に接続さ れているコンタクト部に押圧し、 T C Pの外部端子を前記コンタク ト部 に接続させることにより、複数の T C Pを順次試験に付すことのできる T C Pハンドリング装置であって、 - 前記搬送装置は、前記プッシャの前段側および または後段側にてキ ャリァテープを上側から支持し搬送するスプロケッ 卜と、前記スプロケ ッ トを支持するフレームとを備えており、
前記フレームには、キヤリァテープを下側から支持しガイ ドするテ一 プ支持部材が設けられていることを特徴とする τ C Pハンドリング装 置。
1 0 . キヤリアテープを吸着保持することのできる吸着装置をさらに備 えたことを特徴とする請求項 9に記載の T C Pハンドリング装置。
