- FIG. Figure 2 shows an example of the call history.
- the call history 300 includes month and day 310, time zone 320, PTT mode 330 and the number of calls 340.
- the date 310 represents the date on which the call history was taken.
- time zone 320 represents a time zone in which history is taken. One day is divided into three hours, and it is one time zone.
- the number of calls 340 indicates the number of calls by PTT during the time period 320. As an example, between 15 o'clock and 18 o'clock on August 1, there was a time when the device was in PTT mode, and during that time, 30 calls were made using PTT. When the PTT mode is “ ⁇ FF”, the number of calls 3 4 0 “one” is undefined and will not be referred to.
- the call history 300 has two days and is stored in the call history storage unit 52.
- One day is yesterday's call history, and the other day is today's call history.
- the call history for August 1 is yesterday
- the call history for August 2 is today.
- the current time is 11 o'clock. Therefore, the history after 12:00 has not been collected yet.
- the call history referred to by the monitoring cycle determination unit 53 to determine the monitoring cycle is that of yesterday, that is, that of August 1.
- the call history on August 2 will be referred to by the monitoring period determination unit 53.
- FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing a slot cycle index switching process. This process is always performed when mobile station 100 is in PTT mode. ing.

- the control unit 50 that has received the operation of selecting the PTT mode transfers the control to the PTT communication control unit 51.
- the PTT communication control unit 51 performs a PTT mode initial process (step S20).
- the PTT mode initial process is a process of signing in to the IP network for PTT communication, requesting the network to allocate an IP address, and acquiring the IP address from the network.
- the network to which the IP address is assigned to the mobile station 100 manages the IP address and the mobile station identifier of the mobile station 100 in association with each other, and transmits a voice bucket of a call to the IP address.
- the notified call history storage unit 52 sets the PTT mode 3 30 corresponding to the time zone 3 20 including the notified time to “ON”, and sets the number of calls 3 4 0 to “0”. .
- the PTT communication control unit 51 that has performed the initial processing of the PTT mode performs registration processing of the cycle index at the current time (step S2D0).
- the current time is passed to the monitoring cycle determination unit 53, and a request is made to register the cycle index at the current time.
- the current time shall be used by setting the time obtained from the base station and the time of the mobile station at the time of initial setting when the power of the mobile station is turned on.
- the monitoring cycle determining unit 53 that receives the request determines the slot cycle index, which is the optimum monitoring cycle, based on the call history in the time zone 320 (see FIG. 2) including the current time, and sets the paging. Monitor the channel. Details of this processing will be described with reference to FIG.
- the monitoring cycle determiner 53 which has performed processing to monitor the paging channel at the optimum monitoring cycle at the current time, sets the timer 1 56 so that there is a timer interrupt at the next time to review the slot cycle index. Yes (step S22).
- the time to review the slot cycle index refers to the start time of the time zone next to the time zone 320 including the current time. For example, on August 2nd at 11:00 If so, the start time of the next time zone would be 12:00 (see Figure 2).
- the monitoring cycle determination unit 53 that has set the timer returns control to the PTT communication control unit 51.
- the PTT communication control unit 51 to which control has been passed enters a wait state.
- PTT communication control unit 51 intends line registration processing cycle index of the current time (Step S 21) 0
- the PTT communication control section 51 notifies the call history storage section 52 of the current time and the fact that the PTT mode has been entered.
- the notified call history storage unit 52 sets the PTT mode 330 corresponding to the time zone 320 including the notified time to “ON” and sets the number of calls 340 to “0”.
- step S23 If there is a PTT mode termination interrupt (step S23), the PTT mode termination process is performed (step S31), and the slot cycle index switching process is terminated.
- the end of the PTT mode is performed by the user operating the key 80 from the menu displayed on the display of the mobile station 100 and selecting the end of the PTT mode.
- the control unit 50 that has detected the operation of terminating the PTT mode interrupts the PTT communication control unit 51 and notifies that fact.
- the PTT communication control unit 51 Upon receiving the PTT mode end notification, the PTT communication control unit 51 performs a PTT mode end process, that is, performs a sign-out from the IP network to release the IP address, and ends the PTT mode.
- step S23 If there is a call interruption (step S23), a process of transmitting or receiving a PTT call is performed (step S24).
- the transmission process of the PTT communication means that the user of the mobile station 100 presses the PTT button 60 and transmits the uttered voice to the other party.
- the control unit 50 detecting the press interrupts the PTT communication control unit 51 (step S23).
- the PTT communication control unit 51 issues a PTTC ALL signal to the base station to request assignment of a traffic channel, and the voice input from the speaker 41 and digitized by the voice processing unit 40 through the allocated traffic channel. Is converted into a voice bucket to which the IP address of the transmission partner is added by the modulation / demodulation unit 30 and transmitted to the other party.
- ⁇ Communication reception processing means that the user of the mobile station 100 receives the voice uttered by the other party.
- the base station When the other party performs ⁇ communication transmission processing, the base station receives the PTTC ALL signal issued by the other party's mobile station, and notifies the mobile station 100 to that effect on the paging channel. By responding to the notification by the mobile station 100, a traffic channel is set, and the other party's voice bucket is received and reproduced through the traffic channel.
- the receiving process of the PTT communication is terminated when the other party releases the PTT button 60 and the traffic channel is released.
- the PTT communication control unit 51 that has finished transmitting or receiving the PTT call updates the call history data (step S25).
- the call history storage unit 52 requested to update the call history counts up the number of calls 340 in the time zone 320 including the notified time. For example, if the current time is 11:00 on August 2 and the call is successful, the number of calls 340 corresponding to the time slot 320 "9:00 to 12:00" will change from “0" to "1". (See Figure 2).
- the monitoring period of the paging channel is set to a short period so that conversations between users can be performed smoothly. The registration process will be described with reference to FIG.
- This one-hour timer is estimated to have a high probability that a call will be re-established for about one hour after the call, so that about one hour is a short cycle in which the slot cycle index remains "0". They want to monitor the paging channel. After setting the timer, the PTT communication control unit 51 enters a waiting state.
- step S30 If there is a call interruption (step S30), perform ⁇ transmission or reception of the call (step S24).
- step S23 If there is a mode end interrupt (step S23), ⁇ mode end processing is performed (step S31), and the slot cycle index switching processing ends.
- step S30 If there is a timer interrupt indicating that one hour has passed (step S30), registration processing of the slot cycle index of the current time is performed (step S2 Do). If no call was made, the original slot cycle index value at that point is restored.
- FIG. 4 is a flowchart of the registration process of the slot cycle index at the current time.
- This registration process is a process performed by the monitoring cycle determination unit 53 that has been passed the current time from the PTT communication control unit 51 and has been requested to register the slot cycle index at the current time.
- the monitoring cycle determining unit 53 that has received the request acquires the call data in the time slot 320 including the received current time (step S40). Specifically, a time is specified, and a request is made to the call history storage unit 52 to read data.
- the call history storage unit 52 that has received the data read request reads the data of the corresponding time zone from the call history of yesterday, for example, the call history of August 1, for example, and passes it to the monitoring cycle determination unit 53.
- the monitoring cycle determining unit 53 that has received the data at the designated time from the call history storage unit 52 determines whether there is a call history (step S41).
- Driving mode 330 is “ON” and the number of calls 34 If 0 is equal to or more than once, it is determined that there is a call history. Therefore, when the PTT mode 330 is “ ⁇ FF”, or? If the number of calls 340 is 0 even when the chode mode 330 is “ON”, it is determined that there is no call history.
- the new slot cycle index is set to "0" (step S42). On the other hand, if it is determined that there is no call history, the new slot cycle index is set to "2" (step S43).
- step S44 it is determined whether or not the new slot cycle index is the same as the current slot cycle index. If the new slot cycle index is the same, the registration process is terminated without doing anything.
- the new slot cycle index If the new slot cycle index is different from the current slot cycle index, it requests the slot cycle index notifying section 54 to register the new slot cycle index value in the base station (step S45).
- the slot cycle index notifying unit 54 that has received the request transmits a parameter change registration message for changing the slot cycle index to the base station. Details of the parameter change registration process will be described with reference to FIGS. 6 and 7.
- the mobile station 100 requests the paging channel monitoring unit 55 to monitor the paging channel at the cycle of the new slot cycle index value (step S46).
- the paging channel monitoring unit 55 that has received the request monitors the paging channel at the cycle of the new slot cycle index value.
- step S50 It is determined whether the current value of the slot cycle index is "0" (step S50), and if it is "0", nothing is performed and the registration process ends.
- the paging channel monitoring unit 55 is requested to monitor the jing channel (step S52).
- 6 and 7 are diagrams showing details of the parameter change registration process.
- FIG. 6 shows a process for changing the slot cycle index from “2" to “0”
- FIG. 7 shows a process for changing the slot cycle index from "0" to "2”.
- a parameter change registration message in which the value of the slot cycle index is set to "0" is transmitted to base station 200 (step S61).
- the base station 200 having received it stores the mobile station identifier of the mobile station 100 and the slot cycle index value “0” in association with each other (step S62).
- various messages on the paging channel are transmitted in one slot per cycle with a slot cycle length of 16 (1.28 seconds) (step S64).
- the mobile station 100 also monitors the paging channel in the same slot cycle (step S63). Referring to FIG.
- a parameter change registration message in which the value of the slot cycle index is set to "2" is transmitted to base station 200 (step S66).
- the mobile station identifier of the station 100 and the value of the slot cycle index “2” are stored in association with each other (step S 67), and thereafter, the mobile station 100 has a slot cycle length of 48 (5.12 seconds).
- Various messages on the paging channel are transmitted in one slot per cycle (step S69).

- the call history is stored for yesterday, but it may be the most recent day using the mobile station, or may be multiple days, multiple months, or the like.
- the lot cycle index is determined to be "0", but may be determined by other methods.
- the most suitable day can be selected as the call history depending on the usage mode of the mobile station, so that the power consumption can be further reduced.
- the number of calls in three-hour units is recorded as the call history, but other items may be recorded.
- change the time unit such as two hours during the day and five hours at night.
- the time zone may be a day unit, a month unit, or the like.
- the call partner may be recorded.
- an optimal time zone and an optimal call can be selected as the call history for determining the slot cycle index according to the usage mode of the mobile station, so that the power consumption can be further reduced.
- the value of the slot cycle index is “0” or “2”, but is not limited to this value.
- the slot cycle length in the time period in which the PTT call is expected to be present is shorter than the slot cycle length in other time periods.
- the process for performing communication in the PTT mode is not accepted in the normal standby mode, and the process for performing communication in the normal standby mode is not accepted in the PTT mode.
- the configuration may be such that both the PTT mode and the normal standby mode can be used in the same time zone.
- the slot cycle is automatically determined.
- the slot cycle may be configured so that the user can select and specify the slot cycle. In this case, for example, the control unit 50 presents a list of slot cycle candidates on the display 70 by a predetermined operation by the user during the normal standby state and during the PTT mode.
- the control unit 50 when accepting the operation of selecting one of the candidates by the user, the control unit 50 sends the slot cycle index notification unit 54 a parameter change registration specifying the slot cycle index corresponding to the candidate to the base station 200. And ask them to do it. Further, the control unit 50 requests the paging channel monitoring unit 55 to monitor the paging channel at the cycle of the slot cycle index corresponding to the candidate.
- the one-hour timer is reset for each call, but may not be performed for each call. For example, if there is no call for 30 seconds, the 1-hour timer may be reset.
- the current time is obtained by adjusting the time of the mobile station to the time obtained from the base station when the power of the mobile station is turned on.
- the time may be acquired from the base station each time.
- a program for causing the CPU to execute each control process (see FIG. 1 and the like) for realizing each function of the mobile station described in the embodiment is recorded on a recording medium or through various communication paths. It can also be distributed and distributed. Such recording media include an IC card, an optical disk, a flexible disk, an R ⁇ M, and a flash memory.

- the monitoring cycle determining unit 53 determines the monitoring cycle of the paging channel at the start of the time period of the call history, but may be performed before the start of the time.
- control may be passed to the monitoring cycle determination unit 53 five minutes before the start. Also, it may be determined in advance. For example, when control is passed to the monitoring cycle determination unit 53 at midnight, the monitoring cycle for each time zone for one day is determined based on the history of the previous day. In this case, the monitoring cycle determination unit 53 only returns the monitoring cycle determined in advance when the control is transferred to other than midnight. Furthermore, in the embodiment, since the monitoring cycle determination unit 53 determines the monitoring cycle of the paging channel at the start of the time period in which the monitoring cycle is changed, the monitoring cycle determination unit 53 immediately determines the monitoring cycle. Although the request is made to change the monitoring period, the base station may request the base station to change the monitoring period before the start.
