- Fig. 1 shows the exterior vehicle rearview assembly prepared to carry an image detecting device, comprising a housing 1, which defines at least one housing 19 accessible through a wide opening delimited by an interior contour 1a, the fixing means for reflector and detector 5, 6 arranged in said housing 19, which is at least one. Said opening is covered by at least one reflector 2, 3 (see Figs. 3 and 4) which is installed therein and which provides a rear image, reflected, visible by a vehicle occupant, and a support base 4 to fix the assembly of said housing 1 and reflector element 2, 3 to an exterior part of a vehicle.
- Said assembly comprises means for fixing reflector 5 to support in said housing 1 either a first reflector 2 (see Fig. 3) of a first size or a second reflector 3 (see Fig. 4) of a second size smaller than the first, and detector fixing means 6 for supporting in said housing 1 an image detecting device 7 capable of providing a representative signal of an image or series of rear images capable of being processed, analyzed and used the data obtained after that analysis and processed to provide information to an occupant of the vehicle, such as the driver of the vehicle, in the form of light and / or audible alarm signals, blocking the direction of the vehicle to avoid a possible collision, etc.
- Said reflector and detector fixing means 5, 6 are configured and arranged in such a way (see Figs. 1 and 2) that when said first reflector 2 is mounted on the reflector fixing means 5, the first reflector 2 is superimposed to the detector fixing means 6 concealing them, as can be seen in Fig. 3, where it can also be seen how the first reflector 2 has an outer contour 2a that fits snugly in said inner contour 1a of said housing opening 19 , and when said second reflector 3 is mounted on the reflector fixing means 5, the detector fixing means 6 are available for mounting said image detector device 7 in operative conditions, as can be seen in Fig.
- the reflector fixing means 5 is integrated in an actuator device disposed in the housing 19 to selectively move the reflector 2, 3 in relation to the housing 1, said actuator device may include at least one electric motor. It is interesting to note that the adapter 8 and the image detecting device 7 comprise fixing and centering means that cooperate with each other to maintain the image detecting device 7 in a suitable position facing said hole 9.
- Said fixing means and centered on the exemplary embodiment shown in Fig. 2 include an auxiliary chassis 13 provided with configurations 13a for attaching the image detector device 7 and other configurations 13b adapted for fixing the auxiliary chassis 13 to the adapter 8 or to a bottom wall 15 of the housing 19 by the detector fixing means 6.
- Such configurations could consist of elastic fingers with tabs at their ends or holes to fit in corresponding lugs arranged in the adapter 8 or forming part of the fixing means of the detector 6, although they could be others that could occur to any person skilled in the art.
- auxiliary chassis 13 could also be used, in other embodiments in which the auxiliary chassis 13 was not available, such as those shown in Fig. 5, where the image detecting device 7 can be seen directly coupled to the rear of the reflector by elastic fingers with eyelashes at their ends. If the detector device Image 7 is coupled to the adapter 8, this coupling could obviously also be carried out by means of configurations equal or similar to those mentioned.

- auxiliary reflector 20 which could be used to cover a field of vision other than that covered by the reflector 3, thereby increasing the information coming from outside to which the driver of the vehicle has access and facilitating and making his driving safer.
- the adapter 8 comprises a visor configuration 10 next to an upper part of said hole 9 and a waterhole configuration 11, with a lower portion inclined at an angle A of at least 45 ° with respect to the horizontal, next to a lower part of hole 9, both configurations collaborating in the protection against environmental agents of the image detecting device 7.
- Said configuration of visor 10 and / or said configuration of water vents 11 protrude from the hole 9 a distance D equal to or greater than the diameter of the hole 9. All this is clearly reflected in Fig.
- the housing 1 comprises an interior bottom wall 15 defining the housing 19 and a frame 16 defining the wide opening delimited by the interior 1a.
