Definitions

  • Massager for body massage e.g. the back and the legs on a treatment level with a drive device for a massage device with the features of the type described in the preamble of claim 1.
  • Massage devices are known in different versions. From DE-OS 24 29 808 a massage device with a driven rotor, for example a roller or brush, with a stationary guide column for vertically movable guidance of a support arm for the rotor arranged with a horizontal axis and drive is known. It has a vertically arranged actuating cylinder supported by a column and on the piston rod of which the support arm can be clamped in various relative positions, the length of the piston rod being considerably greater than the piston stroke. The piston of the cylinder can be alternately actuated and locked by a pressure medium by means of a control valve.
  • the angular support arm arranged on the guide column is provided with a motor for driving a rotor.
  • the rotor in the form of a massage roller can be exchanged for a cleaning brush.
  • This massage device can be used to massage the chest or back as well as the upper and lower legs of the human body. If the piston is actuated from below by actuating a control valve, the support arm goes with the rotating massage roller upwards.
  • the control valve can be switched over at any height and thus the direction of movement can be reversed. However, the full stroke of the cylinder can also be exploited, the control valve being automatically reversed in the end positions by a limit switch.
