UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE V. BEAM, OF CANTON, OHIO, ASSIGNOR TO THE BUCllER d: GIBBS PLOW COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIG N FOR A PLOW-STAN DARD.
STECIFTOATION forming part of Design No. 32,127, dated January 23, 1900.
Application filed December 2,1899. Serial No. 739,050. Term of patent 14 years.
To aZZ whom it may (:01: corn:
Be it known that LGEORGE W. REAM,a citizen of the United States, residing at Canton, in the county of Stark and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design fora Standard for Plows,of which the fol lowing is a specification.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is an elevation of a standard embodying my design. Fig. 2 is an elevation of the opposite side. Fig. 3 is a rear elevation, and Fig. 4 is a plan view.
My design consists in the surface configuration and outline of astandard for plows. As shown in Fig. 1, the upper part A of the base is practically plain, except for a slight bulge a near the top, and terminates in a flaring upper end I). The front line c of this part curves downwardly, increasing toward the lower end or point of the standard. The base B is provided with a recess d on its lower edge, and a rib e separates this recess from the surface 1, extending therefrom to the point, this surface being approximately in the same plane as that of the recess d. Between the recessed part (I and the part A there is an intermediate surface C, which the edge 9 of the part A overhangs, this being in a plane approximately parallel with, butintermediate of, the parts A and (Z. Extending from the rear of the standard is a projection D of the shape shown. This projection extends upwardly at an incline. The opposite face of the standard is shown in Fig. 2. This face extends at an acute angle to the face A, and, as shown, is both curved and flaring, as at E. The rear edge is formed on a sinuous curve, as illustrated. The contour of the parts is also clearly shown in the plan view Fig. 4, and the relative position of the wing E to the part A is shown in Fig. 3. From the flat top of the part A a bolt or stud h projects upwardly.
I clairn The design for a plowstandard as herein shown and described.
GEORGE W. REAM.
