UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE 'W. BEAM, OF CANTON, OIIIO, ASSIGNOR TO THE BUCIIER d: GIBBS PLO\V COMPANY,
OF SAME PLACE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,331, dated March 1, 1898.
Application filed December 31, 1897. Serial No. 665,250. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE \V. REAM, a citizen of the United States, residing at Oanton, in the county of Stark and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Plow-Standards, of which the following is a specification.
In the accompanying drawings, illustrating my invention, I have shown, in Figure 1, a plan view ofthe standard; and in Fig.2, a view from the rear. Fig. 3 shows the standard in side elevation from the meldboard side, and Fig. 4 shows the opposite side in elevation.
The material feature of my design resides in its outline principally, but includes also the surface configurations. As shown in Fig. 1, the standard has a downwardly and outwardly curved part A extending to one side of the line or edge B, and from this edge the standard presents a vertical plain face, as shown in Fig. 4 at O, this figure showing plainly the curvature of the line B and the configuration of the bottom line D of the standard. This face of the standard in its upper part is provided with a. projection E, forming an abrupt shoulder whereit joins the vertical face O at the lines F and G.
The curved part A of the standard has an inclined edge 11, terminating in a recess I, (shown in Figs. 1, 2, and 3,) and from this recess the edge of the part A curve-s upwardly on the line K to the upper part of the standard. This leaves in the rear of the standard, inclosed by the walls C and A, a recess approximately triangular, enlarged, and flaring at the base of the standard. The projection E at its lowerend terminates in an overhanging lip L, as shown in Figs. 1, 2, and 4.
\Vhat I claim is- The design fora plowstandard as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
GEORGE \V. REAM.
