SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,498, dated May 12, 1896.
Application filed March 6, 1894. Serial No. 502.590. Term of patent 7 years.

Be it known that I, JOHN D. RIPSON, of Rochester, Monroe county, State of New York, have invented or produced a new and original Design for Burial-Caskets, of which the following is a specification.
In the drawings, Figure l is a plan view of a casket, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same, and Fig. 3 is an enlarged side elevation of one end of the ensket.
A indicates the casket, and 13 the lid. The new feature in my design consists of an ornamental cap at each corner composed of two parts 0 d. The lower part c is of double ogee form and is enlarged, as shown, forming a continuation of the top melding of the casket. The center portion of the same comes to a thin edge. The upper part 17 is in the form of a half-globe, with n snnill nipple or projection at the top. This cap stands outward from the corners of the casket and presents an ornamental appearance, as it Slil'lllOlilllH a column Z), set in a recess of the casket.
